RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Sodium ferulate (SF), a derivative of ferulic acid, is one of the active constituents in medicinal plants thought to be useful in fighting cardiovascular diseases. However, there still lacks a systematic review of the efficacy and safety of SF in treating coronary heart disease (CHD). It is therefore the purpose of this study to comprehensively review all clinical randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of SF in CHD to assess its efficacy and safety. METHODS: All analysis is based on 8 databases as of February 2023, which includes 35 outcomes of RCTs that investigate the effect of SF combination therapy in CHD. The present study evaluates the quality and bias of selected literature by the Jadad scale and Cochrane Collaboration's tools, and also the quality of evidence by GRADE Profiler. Furthermore, it applies sensitivity analysis to assess the high heterogeneity impact of outcomes and conducted subgroup analysis to estimate the influence factors in these studies. The study protocol was set documented, and published beforehand in PROSPERO (Registration No.CRD42022348841). RESULTS: The meta-analysis of 36 studies (with 3207 patients) shows that SF combined with conventional drugs has improved clinical effectiveness for patients with CHD [RR: 1.21 (95% CI 1.17,1.26); p < 0.00001]. Statistically significant results of meta-analyses are also seen in electrocardiography (ECG) efficacy, frequency of angina attacks, endothelium-dependent flow-mediated vasodilation (FMD), nitric oxide (NO), endothelin (ET), whole Blood low shear rate (LS), platelet aggregation test (PAgT), C-reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL6), triglyceride (TG). Adverse events are reported in 6 RCTs. By GRADE approaches, 2 outcomes (clinical efficacy, CRP) indicate a moderate quality of evidence, 17 outcomes indicate low quality of evidence, with the other 16 very low-quality. CONCLUSION: SF combination therapy has a better curative effect than conventional therapy. However, due to items with low-quality evidence demonstrated in the study, the presence of clinical heterogeneity, and imprecision in partial outcome measures, all these led to limitations in the evidence of this study. Thus, the conclusion needs to be further verified by more in-depth research.

RESUMEN

Tea has long been valued for its health benefits, especially its potential to prevent and treat atherosclerosis (AS). Abnormal lipid metabolism and oxidative stress are major factors that contribute to the development of AS. Tea, which originated in China, is believed to help prevent AS. Research has shown that tea is rich in catechins, which is considered a potential source of natural antioxidants. Catechins are the most abundant antioxidants in green tea, and are considered to be the main compound responsible for tea's antioxidant activity. The antioxidant properties of catechins are largely dependent on the structure of molecules, and the number and location of hydroxyl groups or their substituents. As an exogenous antioxidant, catechins can effectively eliminate lipid peroxidation products. They can also play an antioxidant role indirectly by activating the endogenous antioxidant system by regulating enzyme activity and signaling pathways. In this review, we summarized the preventive effect of catechin in AS, and emphasized that improving the antioxidant effect and lipid metabolism disorders of catechins is the key to managing AS.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Atherosclerosis (AS) is a chronic disease characterized by abnormal blood lipid metabolism, inflammation and vascular endothelial injury. Vascular endothelial injury is the initial stage during the occurrence of AS. However, the function and mechanism of anti-AS are not well characterized. Danggui-Shaoyao-San (DGSY) is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) prescription for the treatment of gynecological diseases, and has been widely used in the treatment of AS in recent years. METHODS: ApoE-/- atherosclerosis male mice were established by feeding with high-fat diet, and then randomly divided into three groups: Atherosclerosis group (AS), Danggui-Shaoyao-San group (DGSY), and Atorvastatin calcium group (X). The mice were administered with the drugs for 16 weeks. Pathological changes in aortic vessels were examined by staining with Oil red O, Masson and hematoxylin-eosin. In addition, blood lipids were analyzed. The level of IL-6 and IL-8 in aortic vessels were detected by ELISA and the expression of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 in the aortic vascular endothelium were measured by Immunohistochemical. The mRNA expression of interα5ß1/c-Abl/YAP in the aortic vessels were measured by Real-time quantitative PCR and location of expression was assessed by immunofluorescence. RESULTS: DGSY can significantly reduce the content of TC,TG and LDL-C and increase the level of HDL-C in the serum, reduce the plaque area and inhibit the concentration of IL-6 and IL-8, down-regulate the expression of IVAM-1,VCAM-1 and interα5ß1/ c-Abl/YAP in the aortic vessels. CONCLUSIONS: Collectively, DGSY can alleviate vascular endothelium damage and delay the occurrence of AS, and the underlying mechanism may be related to the multi-target protective of DGSY.

RESUMEN

Background: Cognitive Impairment arising from type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has garnered significant attention in recent times. However, there are few studies on the identification and diagnosis of markers of cognitive impairment. Notably, alterations in the Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer's (RNFL) thickness can potentially serve as an indicative measure of central nervous system changes. Further investigations have indicated that the decline in cognitive function within T2DM patients is intricately linked to persistent systemic inflammation and the accumulation of advanced glycosylation end products. Comprehensive studies are warranted to unveil these complex associations. Objective: This study aims to explore the potential of utilizing the RNFL thickness and serological concentrations of IL-18, irisin, CML, and RAGE as diagnostic indicators for Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) among individuals with T2DM. Methods: The thickness of RNFL were determined in all patients and controls using optical coherence tomography (OCT). The serum levels of IL-18, irisin, CML and RAGE were detected by ELISA kit. In addition, Cognitive assessment was performed by the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and the Montreal Cognitive assessment (MoCA). Results: The average RNFL thickness in the right eye were decreased in T2DM and T2DM combined with MCI (T2DM-MCI) patients and were positively correlated with MoCA and MMSE scores. The serum levels of IL-18, CML and RAGE in T2DM and T2DM-MCI increased significantly (p<0.05) and were negative correlated with MoCA and MMSE scores. The level of irisin in T2DM and T2DM-MCI decreased significantly (p<0.05) and were positively correlated with MoCA and MMSE scores. The area under the ROC curve of T2DM-MCI predicted by the average RNFL thickness in the right eye, CML and RAGE were 0.853, 0.874 and 0.815. The diagnostic efficacy of the combination of average RNFL thickness in the right eye, CML, and RAGE for the diagnosis of T2DM-MCI was 0.969. Conclusion: The average RNFL thickness in the right eye, CML and RAGE have possible diagnostic value in T2DM-MCI patients.

RESUMEN

Neurological diseases impose a tremendous and increasing burden on global health, and there is currently no curative agent. Puerarin, a natural isoflavone extracted from the dried root of Pueraria montana var. Lobata (Willd.) Sanjappa and Predeep, is an active ingredient with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-apoptotic, and autophagy-regulating effects. It has great potential in the treatment of neurological and other diseases. Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinases/protein kinase B (PI3K/Akt) signal pathway is a crucial signal transduction mechanism that regulates biological processes such as cell regeneration, apoptosis, and cognitive memory in the central nervous system, and is closely related to the pathogenesis of nervous system diseases. Accumulating evidence suggests that the excellent neuroprotective effect of puerarin may be related to the regulation of the PI3K/Akt signal pathway. Here, we summarized the main biological functions and neuroprotective effects of puerarin via activating PI3K/Akt signal pathway in neurological diseases. This paper illustrates that puerarin, as a neuroprotective agent, can protect nerve cells and delay the progression of neurological diseases through the PI3K/Akt signal pathway.

RESUMEN

Chang'E-3 is China's first soft landing mission on an extraterrestrial celestial body. The laser Three-Dimensional Imaging (TDI) sensor is one of the key payloads of the Chang'E-3 lander. Its main task is to provide accurate 3D lunar surface information of the target landing area in real time for the selection of safe landing sites. Here, a simplified positioning model was constructed, to meet the accuracy and processing timeline requirements of the TDI sensor of Chang'E-3. By analyzing the influence of TDI intrinsic parameters, a permanent outdoor calibration field based on flat plates was specially designed and constructed, and a robust solution of the geometric calibration adjustment was realized by introducing virtual observation equations for unknowns. The geometric calibration and its absolute and relative positioning accuracy verification were carried out using multi-measurement and multi-angle imaging data. The results show that the error of TDI intrinsic parameters will produce a false obstacle with a maximum height of about 1.4 m on the plane, which will cause the obstacle avoidance system of Chang'E-3 to fail to find a suitable landing area or find a false flat area. Furthermore, the intrinsic parameters of the TDI have good stability and the accuracy of the reconstructed three-dimensional surface can reach about 4 cm after error calibration, which provides a reliable terrain guarantee for the autonomous obstacle avoidance of the Chang'E-3 lander.

RESUMEN

Background: Numerous clinical studies have shown that atopic dermatitis (AD) is often associated with mental disorders. This could contribute to the overall burden of atopic dermatitis. However, the underlying mechanism of mental health symptoms in AD has not been fully elucidated. Methods: An AD mouse was induced by 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB), which was repeatedly applied to the back skin of the BALB/C mice to establish an atopic dermatitis mental disorder model. The role of neuroinflammation in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis mental disorders was then explored. Results: After the stimulation of DNFB for 35 days, the skin lesions, the HE staining of skin lesions, and the behavioral experiments (including elevated plus maze assay and tail suspension test) suggested that the AD mental disorder mouse model was successfully replicated. The expression of neuroinflammatory factors in the hippocampus was then investigated through Western blotting. The results showed a significant increase in the protein expression of NLRP3, caspase-1, and IL-1ß. Conclusion: Mental disorders in AD might be related to the neuroinflammatory response in the hippocampus. An alternative yet essential approach to promoting AD recovery could be through reducing neuroinflammation and improving mental disorders.

RESUMEN

This paper proposes a novel wafer-level vacuum packaged electric field microsensor (EFM) featuring a high quality factor, low driving voltage, low noise, and low power consumption. The silicon-on-insulator (SOI) conductive handle layer was innovatively used as the sensing channel to transmit the external electric field to the surface of the sensitive structure, and the vacuum packaging was realized through anodic bonding between the SOI and glass-on-silicon (GOS). The fabrication process was designed and successfully realized, featured with a simplified process and highly efficient batch manufacturing, and the final chip size was only 5 × 5 mm. A theoretical model for the packaged device was set up. The influence of key parameters in the packaging structure on the output characteristics of the microsensor was analyzed on the basis of the proposed model. Experiments were conducted on the wafer-level vacuum-packaged EFM to characterize its performance. Experimental results show that, under the condition of applying 5 V DC driving voltage, the required AC driving voltage of the sensor was only 0.05 VP, and the feedthrough was only 4.2 mV. The quality factor was higher than 5000 and was maintained with no drop in the 50-day test. The vacuum in the chamber of the sensor was about 10 Pa. A sensitivity of 0.16 mV/(kV/m) was achieved within the electrostatic field range of 0-50 kV/m. The linearity of the microsensor was 1.62%, and the uncertainty was 4.42%.

RESUMEN

The difficulty of atmospheric correction based on a radiative transfer model lies in the acquisition of synchronized atmospheric parameters, especially the aerosol optical depth (AOD). At the moment, there is no fully automatic and high-efficiency atmospheric correction method to make full use of the advantages of geostationary meteorological satellites in large-scale and efficient atmospheric monitoring. Therefore, a QUantitative and Automatic Atmospheric Correction (QUAAC) method is proposed which can efficiently correct high-spatial-resolution (HSR) satellite images. QUAAC uses the atmospheric aerosol products of geostationary satellites to match the synchronized AOD according to the temporal and spatial information of HSR satellite images. This method solves the problem that the AOD is difficult to obtain or the accuracy is not high enough to meet the demand of atmospheric correction. By using the obtained atmospheric parameters, atmospheric correction is performed to obtain the surface reflectance (SR). The whole process can achieve fully automatic operation without manual intervention. After QUAAC applied to Gaofen-2 (GF-2) HSR satellite and Himawari-8 (H-8) geostationary satellite, the results show that the effect of QUAAC correction is slightly better than that of the Fast Line-of-sight Atmospheric Analysis of Spectral Hypercubes (FLAASH) correction, and the QUAAC-corrected surface spectral curves have good coherence to that of the synchronously measured by field experiments.

RESUMEN

The paper presents a novel non-contact microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) voltage sensor based on the piezoresistive effect of single-crystal silicon. The novelty of the proposed sensor design lies in the implementation of unique single-crystal silicon piezoresistive beams for voltage measurement. The sensitive structure of the sensor produces electrostatic force deformation due to the measured voltage, resulting in the resistance change of single-crystal silicon piezoresistive beams which support a vibrating diaphragm. The voltage can be measured by sensing the resistance change. Moreover, the sensor does not need an additional driving signal and has lower power consumption. The prototype of the sensor was fabricated using an SOI micromachining process. The piezoresistive characteristics of the sensor and the corresponding output response relationship were analyzed through theoretical analysis and finite element simulation. The voltage response characteristics of the sensor were achieved at power frequencies from 50 Hz to 1000 Hz in the paper. The experimental results showed that they were in good agreement with simulations results with the theoretical model and obtained good response characteristics. The sensor has demonstrated that the minimum detectable voltages were 1 V for AC voltages at frequencies from 50 Hz to 300 Hz and 0.5 V for AC voltages at frequencies from 400 Hz to 1000 Hz, respectively. Moreover, the linearities of the sensor were 3.4% and 0.93% in the voltage measurement range of 900-1200 V at the power frequency of 50 Hz and in the voltage measurement range of 400-1200 V at the frequency of 200 Hz, respectively.

RESUMEN

Electrostatic voltage is a vital parameter in industrial production lines, for reducing electrostatic discharge harms and improving yields. Due to such drawbacks as package shielding and low resolution, previously reported electric field microsensors are still not applicable for industrial static monitoring uses. In this paper, we introduce a newly designed microsensor package structure, which enhances the field strength inside the package cavity remarkably. This magnification effect was studied and optimized by both theoretical calculation and ANSYS simulation. By means of the digital synthesizer and digital coherent demodulation method, the compact signal processing circuit for the packaged microsensor was also developed. The meter prototype was calibrated above a charged metal plate, and the electric field resolution was 5 V/m, while the measuring error was less than 3 V, from -1 kV to 1 kV in a 2 cm distance. The meter was also installed into a production line and showed good consistency with, and better resolution than, a traditional vibratory capacitance sensor.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of San-Ao Decoction (, SAD) on water metabolism of bronchial asthra model mice. METHODS: Forty-five female BALB/c mice were randomly divided into control, model and SAD groups by a random number table, 15 mice in each group. A composite method with ovalbumin (OVA) sensitization and challenge was developed to establish bronchial asthma model. Mice in the control group were intraperitoneally injected with distilled water without aerosol inhalation challenge. On day 15-22, 0.3 mL SAD was administered via gastric route in SAD group, one time per day, while an equivalent volume of normal saline was used for gastric administration in the control and model groups. Changes in airway resistance in the inspiratory phase (RI-R-Area) were detected using an AniRes2005 system, and 5-h urine output was collected by metabolic cages. Histopathological changes in lung and kidney were observed by hematoxylin-eosin staining. mRNA expressions of aquaporin (AQP) 1 and AQP2 in kidney were detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, and the protein expressions of AQP1 and AQP2 in kidney were detected by immunohistochemistry. Enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay was used to detect the OVA-specific endothelium-1 (ET-1), antidiuretic hormone (ADH), atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), and angiotensin II (Ang II) levels in serum, lung and kidney tissues, respectively. The nitric oxide (NO) contents in serum, lung, and kidney tissues were tested by chemical method, respectively. RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the serum IgE level in model group increased (P<0.01). Following the pathologic changes in lung tissue, no significant change in kidney tissue was observed among 3 groups. Compared with the control group, the mice in the model group showed elevated airway resistance during inhalation phase, higher mRNA and protein expression levels on AQP1 and AQP2 in kidney tissue and higher ET-1 levels in serum, lung and kidney tissues, ADH and ANP in lung and serum, PGE2 in kidney, Ang II in lung and kidney tissues (P<0.05 or P<0.01), but decreased in 5-h urinary output as well as NO and PGE2 contents in serum and lung tissues (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the mice in the SAD group showed a weakened airway resistance in inspiratory phase, lower mRNA and protein expressions of AQP1 and AQP2 in kidney tissues, lower levels of ET-1, ADH, ANP in serum as well as ET-1, ANP, Ang II levels in kidney tissues (P<0.05 or P<0.01), whereas 5-h urinary output, NO content in kidney, ADH, ANP and PGE2 levels in lung and Ang II in serum increased (P<0.05 or P<0.01). CONCLUSION: San-Ao Decoction can regulate the urine volume through regulating AQP1 and AQP2 expression, and the expression of these in the kidneys might be regulated by ET-1, NO and Ang II.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVES: Previous studies have not shown any correlation between bile acid metabolism and bone mineral density (BMD) in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis. Thus, the current study evaluated the association between bile acid levels as well as BMD and bone turnover marker levels in this group of women. METHODS: This single-center cross-sectional study included 150 postmenopausal Chinese women. According to BMD, the participants were divided into three groups: osteoporosis group, osteopenia group, and healthy control group. Serum bile acid, fibroblast growth factor 19 (FGF19), and bone turnover biomarker levels were assessed. Moreover, the concentrations of parathyroid hormone, 25-hydroxy vitamin D [25(OH)D], procollagen type I N-peptide (P1NP), and beta-CrossLaps of type I collagen containing cross-linked C-terminal telopeptide (ß-CTX) were evaluated. The BMD of the lumbar spine and proximal femur were examined via dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. RESULTS: The serum total bile acid levels in the osteoporosis and osteopenia groups (5.28±1.56 and 5.31±1.56 umol/L, respectively) were significantly lower than that in the healthy control group (6.33±2.04 umol/L; p=0.002 and 0.018, respectively). Serum bile acid level was positively associated with the BMD of the lumbar spine, femoral neck, and total hip. However, it negatively correlated with ß-CTX concentration. Moreover, no correlation was observed between bile acid and P1NP levels, and the levels of the other biomarkers that were measured did not differ between the groups. CONCLUSION: Serum bile acid was positively correlated with BMD and negatively correlated with bone turnover biomarkers reflecting bone absorption in postmenopausal women. Thus, bile acid may play an important role in bone metabolism.

RESUMEN

Lipin1 is important in lipid synthesis because of its phosphatidate phosphatase activity, and it also functions as transcriptional coactivators to regulate the expression of genes involved in lipid metabolism. We found that fld mice exhibit cognitive impairment, and it is related to the DAG-PKD-ERK pathway. We used fld mice to explore the relationship between lipin1 and cognitive function. Our results confirmed the presence of cognitive impairment in the hippocampus of lipin1-deficient mice. As shown in behavioral test, the spatial learning and memory ability of fld mice was much worse than that of wild-type mice. Electron microscopy results showed that the number of synapses in hippocampus of fld mice was significantly reduced. BDNF,SYP, PSD95 were significantly reduced. These results suggest that lipin1 impairs synaptic plasticity. Hence,a deficiency of lipin1 leads to decreased DAG levels and inhibits PKD activation, thereby affecting the phosphorylation of ERK and the CREB.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become a major cause of chronic liver disease. The Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) Dachaihu decoction (DCHD) has been proved to treat NAFLD with good efficacy in previous studies. Based on the TCM principle of formula formation, we divided DCHD into soothing liver part, invigorating spleen part, and dredging intestine part. Marshall officially proposed the concept of "intestinal-hepatic axis", which systematically explains the interactions between the intestine and liver. We hypothesized that the effect of CHM on NAFLD is achieved by regulating the liver and intestine. Thus, we aimed to investigate the possible effect of a CHM formula on NAFLD in a rat model. AIM: To investigate the effects of a CHM formula (a decoction of Chinese thorowax root, scutellaria root, and white peony root) on NAFLD and its regulatory effect on the "intestinal-liver" axis. METHODS: Sixty rats were randomly divided into control, model, pioglitazone hydrochloride (PH), and CHM (a decoction of Chinese thorowax root, scutellaria root, and white peony root) groups. An NAFLD rat model was established using a high-fat high-fructose diet for 16 wk. From the 13th week, rats were administered with PH or a decoction of Chinese thorowax, scutellaria, and white peony root (CHM group) for 4 wk. Rats in the control group and model group were administered with an equal volume of distilled water. At the end of the study, blood was collected via the abdominal aorta. Liver tissues were harvested and any morphological changes were observed by hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, Oil red O staining, and Masson staining. In addition, blood lipids, liver function markers, and triglyceride (TG) in liver tissues were analyzed. The levels of transforming growth factor-ß1 (TGF-ß1), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), Toll-like receptor-4 (TLR4), and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-кB) in liver tissues and secreted immunoglobulin A (sIgA) in intestinal tissues were analyzed by ELISA, and protein and mRNA expression of occludin and zonula occludens-1 (ZO-1) in the intestine were measured using Western blot and reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction, respectively. The endotoxin level in plasma was detected by endpoint chromogenic assay. RESULTS: Compared to the normal control group, the liver coefficient, serum TG, total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein (LDL), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and alanine aminotransferase (ALT), blood glucose, plasma endotoxin, and the levels of TG, TNF-α, TGF-ß, NF-kB, and TLR4 in liver tissues increased significantly in the model group, while serum high density lipoprotein (HDL), intestinal sIgA, and protein and mRNA expression of occludin and ZO-1 decreased significantly in the model group (P < 0.01). PH and CHM attenuated the elevated liver coefficient, serum TG, TC, LDL, AST, and ALT, blood glucose, plasma endotoxin, and the levels of TG, TNF-α, TGF-ß, NF-kB, and TLR4 in liver tissues and increased serum HDL levels compared to the model group (P < 0.01). Intestinal sIgA and the protein and mRNA expression of intestinal occludin and ZO-1 were significantly increased in the PH group compared to the model and CHM groups (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: The decoction of Chinese thorowax root, scutellaria root, and white peony root is beneficial in regulating lipid metabolism and liver function, which indicates that it has a good effect on the liver. To a certain extent, this CHM formula can affect both the liver and intestine, while its effect on the liver is superior to that on the intestine.

RESUMEN

The 4 properties of Chinese materia medica refer to cold, hot, warm, and cool. In the present study, the effects of the Coptis, the prepared aconite root, and dried ginger rhizome were compared with regard to the rectal and skin temperature changes of the related body surface acupuncture points (Dazhui, Zhiyang, Mingmen, Zhongwan, and Shenque). The investigation aimed to explore the thermal sensitive points, which can reflect the cold and hot properties of the Chinese herbs. This study showed that the prepared aconite root and dried ginger rhizome exhibited a warming effect on the body temperature, whereas the warming sensitive points were Zhongwan, Shenque, Dazhui, and Zhiyang. Coptis exhibited both a warming and a cooling effect on the body temperature, and the cooling sensitive point was Dazhui. The concomitant effect of these three Chinese herbs on the regulation of the body temperature was reflected by Dazhui. However, there are still some limitations and one-sidedness. For instance, the cold and hot property of some herbs cannot be fully reflected through relevant acupoints on the conception and governor vessels. More detecting sites such as ears and internal organs will be selected for further exploration of Chinese herbs' cold and hot property.

RESUMEN

To monitor the temperature distribution of a cell and its changes under varied conditions is currently a technical challenge. A variety of non-contact methods used for measuring cellular temperature have been developed, where changes of local temperature at cell-level and sub-cell-level are indirectly calculated through the changes in intensity, band-shape, bandwidth, lifetime or polarization anisotropy of the fluorescence spectra recorded from the nano-sized fluorescent materials pre-injected into the target cell. Unfortunately, the optical properties of the fluorescent nano-materials may be affected by complicated intracellular environment, leading to unexpected measurement errors and controversial arguments. Here, we attempted to offer an alternative approach for measuring the absolute increments of local temperature in micro-Testing Zones induced by live cells. In this method, built-in high-performance micro-thermocouple arrays and double-stabilized system with a stability of 10 mK were applied. Increments of local temperature close to adherent human hepatoblastoma (HepG2) cells were continuously recorded for days without stimulus, showing frequent fluctuations within 60 mK and a maximum increment by 285 mK. This method may open a door for real-time recording of the absolute local temperature increments of individual cells, therefore offering valuable information for cell biology and clinical therapy in the field of cancer research.
