RESUMEN

In medical literature is known that the electromagnetic waves own a harmful effect on human organism. Is convinced shows that surround household microwave oven exist certain quantity of non-ionizing radiation leak. The aim of the present work is study the effect of non-ionizing radiation, emitted by household microwave oven, on the body weight, emotional and locomotor activity and cortisol blood plasma level in rats. 6 weeks Wistar rats cage were placed near microwaves oven, from closed door escape 727,24±84,55 Mw/m² Power Density microwaves. The oven was switch over two times a day for 3-3 minutes during 10 days. Experimental and control group rats are weighed before and after experiment. To assess the emotional state and locomotor activity open field test was performed and for determine stress level the concentration of plasma cortisol was measured. It was found that after 10 days, in microwave radiation exposure group rat body weight gain increase more than in control group. In open field test, microwave radiation exposure group rats spent more time in center square than control group rats, line crossings, center square entries, stretch attend postures are also more in microwave radiation exposure group rats than in control. Cortisol level in plasma were increased in microwave radiation exposure group rats than in control group. Complete analysis of our results have convinced shown the necessary to study of household microwave oven non-ionizing radiation.

RESUMEN

The effect of EMF of high frequencies (mobile phones and computers) and the action of radon therapeutic procedures (phenomenological and influencing therapeutic factors) is not still generally known. In addition, we are constantly under the influence of different EMF frequencies, the study of which also deserves attention. The aim of the work is detailed analysis of alpha radiation Tskhaltubo water effect. The subject of the study was 25 patients. The group took the inhalation procedure of air radon baths which was 36-370C, and radon concentration 37.0 Bq/m3. The conducted quantities and qualitative analyses show, that radon inhalation takes an active part in metabolism of biological active components: catecholamine's, amines and free amino acids. Biochemical experiments showed the normalization tendency of composition of these necessary blood-components after 10th day radon-therapeutic inhalation procedure.

RESUMEN

Supersaturation of hydroxyapatite is very important in order to preserve the homeostasis of mineral metabolism in the oral cavity. This indicates to the ability of saliva to preserve the homeostasis of the tooth tissues. So it is very important to use inhalations and rinses with Tskhaltubo mineral water. It is the alpha radiation of radon contained in the water of Tskhaltubo that plays a very important role in the regulation of inflammatory processes and the preservation of homeostasis of the oral cavity. A lot of works have been published lately proving that these doses are characterized by the so-called "hormesis", so the object of our interest is to determine the mechanism of radon hormesis and its effects on preserving the homeostasis of mineral metabolism in the oral cavity. Inhalation with mineral water of Tskhaltubo and its use for rinsing in case of parodontitis leads to decrease and ultimately elimination of the developed inflammatory processes. Tests were conducted on 150 volunteers, 120 of which were sick and 30 were practically healthy (control). As a result of the research it was established that inhalations with mineral water of Tskhaltubo and its use for rinsing in case of parodontitis leads to decrease and ultimately elimination of the developed inflammatory processes of the oral cavity. The unique properties of the mineral water of Tskhaltubo are an important component of the treatment of parodontitis at the initial stage of the disease.

RESUMEN

Evaluation of the level of contamination of environment by specific components of tobacco smoke (ambient and indoor level of Formic Acid) consider the volume and physico-chemical space parameters of the "passive smokers" location. By method of gasliquid capillary chromatography the content of Formic acid in the air samples of Tobacco Smoke was revealed. Investigations are carried on chromatograph PPE-Millipo-Waters (USA) provided with fireionized detector. Estimation of the corrected volume of holding is conducted with the help of integration Data Module Model 730. Temperature of the environment 18,0°C. The tobacco smoke volume was taked and analyzed from begining of the experiment (after the second enfale in 3 min, 5 min and 10 minuts in the distance of 2, 4 and 6 m. from lighting cigarette. Our data shows that the level Formic Acid in the Tobacco smoke samples taken an 3,0 min after beginning of the experiment (distance 4) was practically the same as a distance 6 m. After 10 min of exposition (same distance) the level of Formic Acid did not exceed tracing values. Due to airdynamic and physiochemical peculiarities Formic Acid has different rate of migration and cover different distance. The obtained data is very important from the point of ecological assessment of the environment and individual sensitivity in the components of ambient and indoor tobacco smoke.

RESUMEN

The aim of this investigation was the study of lipids from the fruits of usual hazel-nut Corylus avellana L, growing in Georgia. Ripe fruits was collected in the West Georgia, just in Imereti. From the powdered fruits was obtained the sums of neutral and pollar lipids. Qualitatively there were established classes entered in them. By using High performance liquid chromatography qualitatively and quantitatively were identified ten fatty acids, which time of deduction hesitate from 4,01 min to 13,00 min. By the analyses there were determined unsaturated fatty acids C12:0 to C24:0. The content of unsaturated fatty acids considerably is distinquished from the content of the oil from the hazel-nut, growing in the other eco-geographical conditions. In the oil of the hazel-nut growing in Georgia content of hexadecanoic acid is by far exceled (surpassed) than of the oil from the nut growing in the other natural conditions. In the other matters dominant acid is octadecanoic acid. The oil from the fruits of hazel-nut content physiologically active compounds, which desirably correlation is interesting not only for receiving (obtaining) cosmetic means, not is important for usage in practical medicine.

RESUMEN

The medical problems of the environmental pollution with products of tobacco smoke are relatively known. The question of separate components of tobacco smoke, factors such a puff-volume, rate, distance, frequency, length of butt in the environment air is not well understand and should further be investigated. It is shown the dependence of the process on the following factors: physic-chemical parameters of atmospheric environment, brand of tobacco product, activity of smoking process. We aimed to determine the dependence of benz(a)pirene in the air samples of tobacco smoke in the distance of 2,0; 4,0 and 6,0m. from lighting cigarette after puff-by puff. Cigarettes were machine-smoked and the total particulate matter was collected (1,0m3) in room, having no air filtration and substances were analysed and identified by gashromatography. The condacted quantitative and qualitative analyses show, that distance of exposition from burning cigarette can change the volume of benz(a)pirene. In the result of pyrolitic and photochemical reactions in tobacco smoke at certain air space temperature new structures can be formed with high toxity and cancerogenity. The dominant transformation process is reaction with photochemically-produced radicals, which produced benz(a)piren as a minor product. Additional factors effecting indoor concentrations include location and ventilation condition time. Ultrafine particle and benz(a)piren deposition and smoking behavior were observed. The mainstream smoke was also monitored continuously in real time (3, 5 and 10 minute) on a puff-by-puff. Our data show that smoking pastime can change the structure and volume of component of tobacco smoke. The level of benz(a)piren in air samples was evaluated as the main background index of cigarette smoke toxity in relatively small room, having no air filtration system. This question still needs to be explained. It would be interesting to investigate of tobacco smoke components in lung tissue after the smoking process. The studies are necessary in different derection.

RESUMEN

The composition of cigarette smoke in spite of its tremendous complexity is relatively known, but little is known about the influence of Ecologic Factors (air flows, temperature, light) on the Migration Character of individual and specific components of Tobacco Smoke constansate in environmental atmosphere on different distance from burning cigarette. Oxidation in air, and photochemical reactions can produce many compounds which were not originally present in the Tobacco Smoke. Gas liquid Chromatography with high-resolution capillary column is applied. The tobacco skome volume was taked and analyzed in the distance of 2,0 m and 4,0 m from burning cigarette. The content of naphthalene and its derivates in the air samples was revealed. Our data show that distance of exposition from burning cigarette can change the structure and volume of each component of tobacco smoke. The studies are necessary in different direction. First, this phenomen still needs to be explained. The second, it would be interesting to investigate the retention of tobacco smoke components in lung tissue, for a considerable time after the smoking process. The obtained data is very important from the point of ecological assessment of the environment and sensitivity to the components of tobacco smoke.

RESUMEN

Biochemical changes that are taking place in patients with periodontitis 1 and 2 the quality of the individuals place in a laqtatdegidrogenazis, alkaline phosphatase activity increase and reduced activity amilazais. Therefore we can conclude that, there is an increase in superoxide substances, which causes an increase in the oral cavity patobakteriebis and quality of periodontitis. The grape seed and coriander oil is of vegetable origin and antioxidant drugs. Their action causes a statistically significant increase in the amilazis, alkaline phosphatase and laqtatdegidrogenazis reduction, while the latter leads pH - rate of return to oral fluid. It should be noted that the positive effect of coriander oil, but less effective.

RESUMEN

The new concept for social integration of people with disabilities pointed at the need to develop disability assessment methodology with the subsequent validization, based on modern approaches that conceptualise disability as arising from the interaction of a person's functional status with the physical, cultural and policy environments, therefore focussing on an individual's functional abilities. The academy of Swiss insurance medicine, ASIM, worked together with Georgian representatives to develop the principles of functional assessment and provide a method of applying these principles. As instrument for output specification the Mini ICF APP was selected, translated and back translated from German to Georgian. A training course of one day was conducted after which psychiatrists tested the approach in 5 cases each and suggested minor modifications of interpretation. After this they each performed 40 assessments with the new methodology. Doing the assessments with the new procedure was appreciated by all participants and provoked no problems. Being asked to fill out the Mini ICF form in a systematic fashion makes the reports more objective and transparent. The shift to a functional approach in evaluation of disability for work is practicable with the methodology ASIM has developed for this purpose and this fits with the present legislation. This approach could be used in other fields than psychiatry as well.

RESUMEN

Over the past few decades the search for predisposed biological markers has become the course of most priority in scientific psychiatry. Research goal was to reveal the association of alpha-dephenzine concentration in peripheral blood with the disease existence and its progressing (acute and chronic forms) in patients with schizophrenia. In-patients diagnosed with schizophrenia have been investigated (av. age - 45.33±1.86), among them 26 males (av. age - 39.41±1.86) and 13 females (av. age - 45.04±2.44). 27 patients with acute form of schizophrenia (av.age - 44.88±2.42), 12 patients with a chronic form (av. age - 46.33±2.75). 15 healthy volunteers have been investigated as well (av.age - 40.03±2.94), 5 males and 10 females among them. The study of alpha-dephenzine concentration by the immunoenzyme method has been implied in the investigation. Research studies revealed statistically valid increased concentration of alpha-dephenzine in patients diagnosed with schizophrenia comparing with healthy volunteers. The difference was so evident that qualitative difference (marker existence-nonexistence) would rather be considered than quantitative one. Relying on the results of studies we can estimate alpha-dephenzines as possible biomarkers of schizophrenia.

RESUMEN

Correct assessment due to mental diseases is rather important. WHO developed International Classification for Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) and there are two approaches to its implementation - development of disease specific or generic core sets. In order to know which way to choose up to date information is needed on disorders that most frequently lead to disability in Georgia. The study aimed at identification of the most prevalent mental diseases that led to disability pension in Georgia in 2010. Cross-sectional study of the population of pension beneficiaries was conducted. We have calculated 10% of 607 (diagnosed with disability in 2010) to be included in the survey. They were selected using random sampling method. Patient data were collected from the case histories. Paranoid schizophrenia (F 20.0) was the leading cause of disability both in men and women - 51.6% in men and 50% in women. In men persistent delusional disorder and mild mental retardation with significant impairment of behavior accounted for 9.7% each, while in women persistent delusional disorder led to disability in 15.0% of cases and moderate mental retardation - in 10.0%. All children receiving disability pension are mentally retarded. Paranoid schizophrenia - relatively less common disorder has high associated impairment among adults in Georgia, whereas in children mental retardation is the most frequent disabling condition. However, there are many other diseases that lead to disability. Therefore the best way to move further might be to first develop a generic core set for all psychiatric disability.
