Americium-241 whole body and internal biokinetics were experimentally investigated in the euryhaline diamond sturgeon Acipenser gueldenstaedtii during its uptake from water and food, in fresh (FW) and brackish water (BW; 9 psu). Whole-body uptake rates of 241Am from water and subsequent depuration rates were quantified over 14 and 28 days, respectively, and assimilation efficiency (AE) of 241Am from diet (chironomid) was determined over 28 days. FW reduced the biological half-life of 241Am following aqueous uptake by an order of magnitude. In contrast BW greatly reduced 241Am assimilation efficiency (AE) from diet (chironomid) by several orders of magnitude (from an AE of 8.5% (FW) down to 0.003% (BW)). Hence, salinity per se is indicated as a major environmental variable in determining the radiological exposure of A. gueldenstaedtii to 241Am. During aqueous exposure BW appreciably increased 241Am activity concentrations in most body components, but aqueous or dietary exposure pathway at either salinity did not determine marked differences in how 241Am was distributed among six body components. The highly mineralized skin of A. gueldenstaedtii recurred as a major repository of 241Am in all experimental treatments, as high as 50% among body components, due to its internal transfer from diet, surface adsorption and/or active absorption from water. The indicated prominence of the aqueous, compared to the dietary, exposure pathway for 241Am accumulation by A. gueldenstaedtii suggests its radiological exposure would be enhanced by BW as it leads to its greater long-term retention, due to a much longer biological half-life.

A growing body of research documents that the use of pornography is becoming more frequent among male sexual minorities. According to the sexual script acquisition, activation, application model of mediated sexual socialization (3AM), pornography can be considered a potential factor influencing an individual's partner preference. In addition, perceived realism could moderate the link between pornography consumption and partner preferences. This study explored the relationship between pornographic video consumption and partner preference among male sexual minorities and the moderating role of perceived realism. A total of 595 male sexual minorities aged 18 to 47 years (M = 21.70, SD = 3.83), including 82.9% gay men and 17.1% bisexual men, were enrolled in the study. Our results revealed the following: (1) The frequency of pornographic video consumption and male sexual minorities' preferences for appearance and sexual ability in partner selection were positively correlated (r = .06/.07, ps < .05). (2) When perceived realism was low, pornographic video consumption was not significantly associated with appearance and sexual ability preference. (3) Conversely, when perceived realism was high, pornographic video consumption was positively associated with appearance and sexual ability preference (ß = .17/.16, ps < .01). Findings highlight the mechanisms behind pornographic video consumption and partner preference in sexual minority males.

The goal of this study is to measure the uranium concentration levels in the blood of Iraqi workers employed in certain government companies. Assessing the initial level of uranium toxicity in their blood and the possibility of health problems occurring. 184 blood samples from Iraqi government companies and the control group were collected in this study. A solid-state nuclear track detector (CR-39) was used to measure the amount of uranium present. Two drops of blood (100 µl) were placed on CR-39. The CR-39 was irradiated with a thermal neutron using the fission-track technique (241Am-9Be) to determine the uranium concentration in blood samples. The statistical analysis is carried out using the Origin Lab 2024 version. The results show the average of uranium concentration at all locations has a higher level compared to the control group. The blood samples from workers at the phosphate company had the highest amount (1.021 ± 0.050 µg/l), compared to samples from other factories. This result confirms that there is a connection between the concentration of uranium and phosphate substances. The results suggest that there is a slight increase in uranium levels that is related to both age and years of employment.

Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies, including 3D mortar printing (3DMP), 3D concrete printing (3DCP), and Liquid Deposition Modeling (LDM), offer significant advantages in construction. They reduce project time, costs, and resource requirements while enabling free design possibilities and automating construction processes, thereby reducing workplace accidents. However, AM faces challenges in achieving superior mechanical performance compared to traditional methods due to poor interlayer bonding and material anisotropies. This study aims to enhance structural properties in AM constructions by embedding 3D-printed polymeric meshes in clay-based mortars. Clay-based materials are chosen for their environmental benefits. The study uses meshes with optimal geometry from the literature, printed with three widely used polymeric materials in 3D printing applications (PLA, ABS, and PETG). To reinforce the mechanical properties of the printed specimens, the meshes were strategically placed in the interlayer direction during the 3D printing process. The results show that the 3D-printed specimens with meshes have improved flexural strength, validating the successful integration of these reinforcements.

The vulnerability of immunocompromised patients to common or opportunistic viral infections is particularly high. The quantitation of viral load in clinical specimens is important for the diagnosis and management of the infection and reactivation in this patient population, particularly transplant recipients. As the new regulation "IVDR" regarding in vitro diagnosis methods is about to come into effect in France, diagnostic laboratories have to implement methods and systems compatible with this new regulation. Technical performance of the AltoStar® Adenovirus (AdV), Cytomegalovirus (CMV) and human Herpesvirus-6 (HHV-6) DNA PCR Kits 1.5 was assessed on the AltoStar Automation system AM16 using reference kits in 146 clinical samples. Overall agreement in clinical specimens was 87.5 % (28/32), 96.8 % (62/64), 100 % (22/22), 100 % (28/28) and 92.8 % (26/28) for AdV, CMV (WB samples and other matrices), HHV-6 A&B respectively. Quantitative results were highly correlated and estimated to be equivalent within a 0.057-0.648 log-amount difference.We found that altona kits on The AltoStar AM16 system are suitable for clinical monitoring of AdV, CMV and HHV-6 in immunocompromised hosts.

Hyperglycaemia-induced oxidative stress plays significant roles in the development of type 2 diabetes and its complications. This study investigates effects of magainin-AM2 on high-sucrose diet induced redox imbalance and cognitive impairment in Drosophila melanogaster. Effects of various concentrations of sucrose, magainin-AM2 or a combination of both agents on mortality, eclosion rate, generation of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, activities of antioxidant enzymes, thiol system, and markers of cognitive functions in control and treated flies were examined. Results showed that the exposure of flies to high sucrose (30% - 60% w/w) diet increased mortality rate (38 - 67%, P<0.001) and levels of glucose (1.8 - 1.9-fold, P<0.001), hydrogen peroxide (1.4 - 1.5-fold, P<0.01) and nitrite/nitrate (1.2-fold, P<0.01). Decreased levels of total thiol (53 - 59%, P<0.01), non-protein thiols (59 - 63%, P<0.01), catalase activities (39 - 47%, P<0.01 -0.05) and glutathione-s-transferase activities (31 - 43%, P<0.01 - 0.05) were also observed. Magainin-AM2 (0 - 10 µM/kg diet) did not affect fly mortality rate, levels of hydrogen peroxide and nitrite/nitrate, and activities of catalase and glutathione-s-transferase. However, the peptide produced a dose-dependent increase in total thiol 1.2 - 1.6-fold, P<0.001-0.01)and increases non-protein thiol levels at 10µM/kg diet (2.0-fold, P<0.01). Magainin-AM2 inhibited sucrose-induced elevation of glucose (55 - 70%, P<0.001), hydrogen peroxide (11 - 12%, P<0.01) and nitrite/nitrate (20 - 34%, P<0.01 - 0.05). The peptide prevented sucrose-induced reduction in total and non-protein thiols (1.9 - 2.0-fold, P<0.05) levels and activities of catalase (2.3 - 3.1-fold, P<0.001) and glutathione-s-transferase (1.8 - 2.8-fold, P<0.001- 0.05). Magainin-AM2 inhibited sucrose-induced reduction in acetylcholinesterase activities (3.6 - 4.0-fold, P<0.001), eclosion rate (18%, P<0.001) and negative geotaxis (1.3 - 14-fold, P<0.001). These results indicate that beneficial actions of magainin-AM2 may also involve the prevention of hyperglycaemia-induced oxidative damage and encourage its further development as an anti-diabetic agent.

Although positive effects of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi on plant performance under drought have been well documented, how AM fungi regulate soil functions and multifunctionality requires further investigation. In this study, we first performed a meta-analysis to test the potential role of AM fungi in maintaining soil functions under drought. Then, we conducted a greenhouse experiment, using a pair of hyphal ingrowth cores to spatially separate the growth of AM fungal hyphae and plant roots, to further investigate the effects of AM fungi on soil multifunctionality and its resistance against drought. Our meta-analysis showed that AM fungi promote multiple soil functions, including soil aggregation, microbial biomass and activities of soil enzymes related to nutrient cycling. The greenhouse experiment further demonstrated that AM fungi attenuate the negative impact of drought on these soil functions and thus multifunctionality, therefore, increasing their resistance against drought. Moreover, this buffering effect of AM fungi persists across different frequencies of water supply and plant species. These findings highlight the unique role of AM fungi in maintaining multiple soil functions by mitigating the negative impact of drought. Our study highlights the importance of AM fungi as a nature-based solution to sustaining multiple soil functions in a world where drought events are intensifying.

The involvement of nuclear factor Y (NF-Y) in transcriptional reprogramming during arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis has been demonstrated in several plant species. However, a comprehensive picture is lacking. We showed that the spatial expression of NF-YC3 was observed in cortical cells containing arbuscules via the cis-regulatory element GCC boxes. Moreover, the NF-YC3 promoter was transactivated by the combination of CYCLOPS and autoactive calcium and calmodulin-dependent kinase (CCaMK) via GCC boxes. Knockdown of NF-YC3 significantly reduced the abundance of all intraradical fungal structures and affected arbuscule size. BCP1, SbtM1, and WRI5a, whose expression associated with NF-YC3 levels, might be downstream of NF-YC3. NF-YC3 interacted with NF-YB3a, NF-YB5c, or NF-YB3b, in yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) and in planta, and interacted with NF-YA3a in yeast. Spatial expression of three NF-YBs was observed in all cell layers of roots under both mock and mycorrhizal conditions. Simultaneous knockdown of three NF-YBs, but not individually, reduced the fungal colonization level, suggesting that there might be functional redundancy of NF-YBs to regulate AM symbiosis. Collectively, our data suggest that NF-YC3 and NF-YBs positively regulate AM symbiosis in tomato, and arbuscule-related NF-YC3 may be an important downstream gene of the common symbiosis signaling pathway.

This paper forms part of an ongoing investigation into the tools required in linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) for evaluating the durability of components designed for limited life replacement. In this study, we demonstrate that the USAF 'Characteristic K' method, when combined with the Hartman-Schijve adaptation of the NASGRO crack growth formula, can predict the impact of underloads on the propagation of small cracks in aluminum alloy AA7050-T7451 with reasonable accuracy. The published da/dN versus ΔK small crack growth curves associated with five specific underload spectra are examined. It is found that, in each case, there is reasonably good agreement between the predicted and the measured curves. To the best of the author's knowledge, this paper is the first to highlight the ability of the USAF Characteristic K approach, when coupled with the Hartman-Schijve equation, to reasonably accurately predict the growth of small cracks subjected to a range of underload spectra.

The main objective of this work was to propose and evaluate a methodology for shielding-gas selection in additive manufacturing assisted by wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) with an austenitic stainless steel as feedstock. To validate the proposed methodology, the impact of multi-component gases was valued using three different Ar-based blends recommended as shielding gas for GMA (gas metal arc) of the target material, using CMT (cold metal transfer) as the process version. This assessment considered features that potentially affect the building of the case study of thin walls, such as metal transfer regularity, deposition time, and geometrical and metallurgical characteristics. Different settings of wire-feed speeds were conceived to maintain a similar mean current (first constraint for comparison's sake) among the three gas blends. This approach implied different mean wire-feed speeds and simultaneously forced a change in the deposition speed to maintain the same amount of material deposited per unit of length (second comparison constraint). The composition of the gases affects the operational performance of the shielding gases. It was concluded that by following this methodology, shielding-gas selection decision-making is possible based on the perceived characteristics of the different commercial blends.

Plants and their symbionts, such as arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi, are increasingly subjected to various environmental stressors due to climate change, including drought. As a response to drought, plants generally allocate more biomass to roots over shoots, thereby facilitating water uptake. However, whether this biomass allocation shift is modulated by AM fungi remains unknown. Based on 5691 paired observations from 154 plant species, we conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate how AM fungi modulate the responses of plant growth and biomass allocation (e.g., root-to-shoot ratio, R/S) to drought. We found that AM fungi attenuate the negative impact of drought on plant growth, including biomass production, photosynthetic performance and resource (e.g. nutrient and water) uptake. Accordingly, drought significantly increased R/S in non-inoculated plants, but not in plants symbiotic with established AM fungal symbioses. These results suggest that AM fungi promote plant growth and stabilize their R/S through facilitating nutrient and water uptake in plants under drought. Our findings highlight the crucial role of AM fungi in enhancing plant resilience to drought by optimizing resource allocation. This knowledge opens avenues for sustainable agricultural practices that leverage symbiotic relationships for climate adaptation.

Mycorrhizal association is one of the earliest and diversely distributed symbiotic associations on the Earth. This association helped early terrestrial plants to colonize the land by improved supply of nutrients like phosphate, nitrogen and zinc. It also helped plants to tolerate unfavorable soil conditions with increased water retention capacity, resistance to drought and pathogens. In return, fungi benefitted with carbon as their food source from the plants. More than 80% of terrestrial plants including pteridophytes, gymnosperms and angiosperms are reported to form arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) association. Plants with root systems appeared on land during the Devonian period and many of them like pteridophytes still exist today. Various molecular and fossil studies confirm that the plants belonging to Ordovician-Devonian are associated with fungi, which are very similar to genus Glomus. AM association is very common in pteridophytes and the growth of its sporophyte and gametophyte is directly affected in the presence of AM association. Pteridophytes as early land plants with root systems have a very significant place in the plant kingdom. They have evolved and adapted to fill various habitats and facilitated early terrestrialization of other land plants by providing suitable niche with the help of AM fungi. In spite of pteridophytes being a very important plant group in the land system, very few reports are available on fungal-pteridophyte association. The present review is an effort to gather information about AM association in pteridophytes that might help in unraveling the evolution and significance of plant and fungi association.

Background/aim: Glioblastoma is one of the most aggressive tumours, resistant to all applied therapy regiments and prone to relapse. Median survival rates are therefore only expressed as months. STING agonists are immunomodulatory molecules that activate type I interferon expression, making them potentially useful in regulating the tumour microenvironment. Since PTEN serves as a critical phosphatase in activating interferon-regulating transcription factors and is frequently mutated in glioblastoma cells, this study aimed to investigate STING activation in glioblastoma cell lines, examining whether they harbour the PTEN protein or not.°. Materials and methods: T98G and U118MG glioblastoma cell lines were treated with the 2'3'-c-di-AM(PS)2(Rp,Rp) STING agonist together with or without the chemotherapeutic agent temozolomide. cGAS/STING pathway components were subsequently analysed using qRT-PCR, western blot, and ELISA methods. Results: Our results showed that PTEN-harbouring T98G cells responded well to STING activation, leading to increased temozolomide efficacy. In contrast, STING activation in U118MG cells did not affect the response to temozolomide. mRNA expression levels of STING, IRF3, NF-KB, and RELA genes were significantly increased at the combined treatment groups in T98G cell line. Conversely, combined treatment with STING agonist and temozolomide did not affect mRNA expression levels of cGAS/STING pathway genes in U118MG cells. Conclusion: Our data offers new evidence suggesting that STING agonists can effectively be used to increase temozolomide response in the presence of PTEN protein. Therefore, increased GBM therapy success rates can be achieved by employing the PTEN expression status as a predictive biomarker before treating patients with a chemotherapeutic agent in combination with STING agonist.

All cells in our body are equipped with receptors to recognize pathogens and trigger a rapid defense response. As a result, foreign molecules are blocked and cells are alerted to the danger. Among the many molecules produced in response to viral infection are interferon-induced proteins with tetratricopeptide repeats (IFITs). Their role is to recognize foreign mRNA and eliminate it from the translational pool of transcripts. In the present study, we used biophysical methods to characterize the interactions between IFIT1 protein and its partners IFIT2 and IFIT3. IFIT1 interacts with IFIT3 with nanomolar binding affinity, which did not change significantly in the presence of the preformed IFIT2/3 complex. The interactions between IFIT2 and IFIT3 and IFIT1 and IFIT2 were one order of magnitude weaker. We also present kinetic data of the interactions between the IFIT protein complex and short RNA bearing various modifications at the 5' end. We show kinetic parameters for interaction between IFIT complex and RNA with m6Am modification. The results show that the cap adjacent m6Am modification is a stronger signature than cap1 alone. It blocks the formation of a complex between IFIT proteins and m7Gpppm6Am-RNA much more effectively than other cap modifications. In contrast, m6A in the 5'UTR is not recognized by IFIT proteins and does not contribute to translation repression by IFIT proteins. The data obtained are important for understanding the regulation of expression of genetic information. They indicate that 2'-O and m6Am modifications modulate the availability of mRNA molecules for proteins of innate immune response.

Celiac patients are required to strictly adhere to a gluten-free diet because even trace amounts of gluten can damage their small intestine and leading to serious complications. Despite increased awareness, gluten can still be present in products due to cross-contamination or hidden ingredients, making regular monitoring essential. With the goal of guaranteeing food safety for consuming labeled gluten-free products, a capacitive aptasensor was constructed to target gliadin, the main allergic gluten protein for celiac disease. The success of capacitive aptasensing was primarily realized by coating a Parylene double-layer (1000 nm Parylene C at the bottom with 400 nm Parylene AM on top) on the electrode surface to ensure both high insulation quality and abundant reactive amino functionalities. Under the optimal concentration of aptamer (5 µM) used for immobilization, a strong linear relationship exists between the amount of gliadin (0.01-1.0 mg/mL) and the corresponding ΔC response (total capacitance decrease during a 20 min monitoring period after sample introduction), with an R2 of 0.9843. The detection limit is 0.007 mg/mL (S/N > 5), equivalent to 0.014 mg/mL (14 ppm) of gluten content. Spike recovery tests identified this system is free from interferences in corn and cassava flour matrices. The analytical results of 24 commercial wheat flour samples correlated well with a gliadin ELISA assay (R2 = 0.9754). The proposed label-free and reagentless capacitive aptasensor offers advantages of simplicity, cost-effectiveness, ease of production, and speediness, making it a promising tool for verifying products labeled as gluten-free (gluten content <20 ppm).

Epilepsy is one of the most well-known neurological disorders globally, leading to individuals experiencing sudden seizures and significantly impacting their quality of life. Hence, there is an urgent necessity for an efficient method to detect and predict seizures in order to mitigate the risks faced by epilepsy patients. In this paper, a new method for seizure detection and prediction is proposed, which is based on multi-class feature fusion and the convolutional neural network-gated recurrent unit-attention mechanism (CNN-GRU-AM) model. Initially, the Electroencephalography (EEG) signal undergoes wavelet decomposition through the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), resulting in six subbands. Subsequently, time-frequency domain and nonlinear features are extracted from each subband. Finally, the CNN-GRU-AM further extracts features and performs classification. The CHB-MIT dataset is used to validate the proposed approach. The results of tenfold cross validation show that our method achieved a sensitivity of 99.24% and 95.47%, specificity of 99.51% and 94.93%, accuracy of 99.35% and 95.16%, and an AUC of 99.34% and 95.15% in seizure detection and prediction tasks, respectively. The results show that the method proposed in this paper can effectively achieve high-precision detection and prediction of seizures, so as to remind patients and doctors to take timely protective measures.

Intracellular Ca2+ can be conveniently monitored by sensitive Ca2+ fluorescent dyes in live cells. The Gαq involved lipid signaling pathways and, thus, can be studied by intracellular Ca2+ imaging. Here we describe the protocols to measure intracellular Ca2+ for studying PEG2-EP1 activity in esophageal smooth muscle cells. BACKGROUND: Established as health insurance benefit in 2007, Specialized Palliative Home Care (SPHC) has been continuously expanded. At the same time, health policy initiatives intended to promote general outpatient palliative care. In comparison to urban centers, the development of palliative care networks in rural areas appears to be more difficult. In addition, there is an increasing shortage of family doctors in primary care. Family members play a key role in the home care for seriously ill patients. This paper therefore investigated the experiences of relatives with the end-of-life (EoL) care for family members with life-limiting chronic diseases in more rural regions. The aim was to determine aspects that, from the relatives' point of view, are essential for optimizing EoL care. METHODS: Qualitative after-death interviews with relatives in two districts were conducted in the first six months of 2019, who were recruited by the deceased patients' family doctor. Relatives (age ≥18 years) of patients who died in 2018 were included. The interviews were digitally recorded, transcribed and analyzed using content analysis. RESULTS: In the first half of 2019, 28 after-death interviews were conducted with 30 relatives (77% female, age: 32 to 83 years) from rural (n=8) and urban communities (n=22) in two Lower Saxonian counties. They were mostly in a partnership or parent-child relationship with the deceased person. The central categories and needs that emerged in the analysis were: (1) communication about dying and death, (2) information and enabling, (3) support of and relief for relatives, and (4) continuity and cooperation of the services involved in EoL care. The results underline the fact that family caregivers in particular find open communication, information to provide them with the confidence to act, recognizing and responding to support needs and continuity in the course helpful in coping with EoL care situations. Access problems to specialist medical care, deficiencies in care coordination and bureaucratic hurdles in the provision of medical aids proved to be an additional burden. DISCUSSION: The results underline the importance of open communication and the integration of relatives into the care process for optimal care at the end of life. Close cooperation between the services involved and proactive support for relatives are essential, too, especially in rural areas where the challenges of accessing and coordinating care services are a major concern. CONCLUSION: The identification and communication of complex problems, the needs of patients and their relatives and possible barriers to accessing care services are prerequisites for the timely initiation of palliative care measures and support for family caregivers. In addition to needs-based care structures, the optimization of EoL care in home settings requires cooperation and networking between professional stakeholders.

PREMISE: While many studies have measured the aboveground responses of plants to mycorrhizal fungi at a single time point, little is known about how plants respond belowground or across time to mycorrhizal symbiosis. By measuring belowground responses and growth over time in many plant species, we create a more complete picture of how mycorrhizal fungi benefit their hosts. METHODS: We grew 26 prairie plant species with and without mycorrhizal fungi and measured 14 functional traits to assess above- and belowground tissue quality and quantity responses and changes in resource allocation. We used function-valued trait (FVT) modeling to characterize changes in species growth rate when colonized. RESULTS: While aboveground biomass responses were positive, the response of traits belowground were much more variable. Changes in aboveground biomass accounted for 60.8% of the variation in mycorrhizal responses, supporting the use of aboveground biomass response as the primary response trait. Responses belowground were not associated with aboveground responses and accounted for 18.3% of the variation. Growth responses over time were highly variable across species. Interestingly, none of the measured responses were phylogenetically conserved. CONCLUSIONS: Mycorrhizal fungi increase plant growth in most scenarios, but the effects of these fungi belowground and across time are more complicated. This study highlights how differences in plant allocation priorities might affect how they utilize the benefits from mycorrhizal fungi. Identifying and characterizing these differences is a key step to understanding the effects of mycorrhizal mutualisms on whole plant physiology.

Developing strategies to target injured pancreatic acinar cells (PACs) in conjunction with primary pathophysiology-specific pharmacological therapy presents a challenge in the management of acute pancreatitis (AP). We designed and synthesized a trypsin-cleavable organosilica precursor bridged by arginine-based amide bonds, leveraging trypsin's ability to selectively identify guanidino groups on arginine via Asp189 at the active S1 pocket and cleave the carboxy-terminal (C-terminal) amide bond via catalytic triads. The precursors were incorporated into the framework of mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) for encapsulating the membrane-permeable Ca2+ chelator BAPTA-AM with a high loading content (∼43.9%). Mesenchymal stem cell membrane coating and surface modification with PAC-targeting ligands endow MSNs with inflammation recruitment and precise PAC-targeting abilities, resulting in the highest distribution at 3 h in the pancreas with 4.7-fold more accumulation than that of naked MSNs. The outcomes transpired as follows: After bioinspired MSNs' skeleton biodegradation by prematurely and massively activated trypsin, BAPTA-AM was on-demand released in injured PACs, thereby effectively eliminating intracellular calcium overload (reduced Ca2+ level by 81.3%), restoring cellular redox status, blocking inflammatory cascades, and inhibiting cell necrosis by impeding the IκBα/NF-κB/TNF-α/IL-6 and CaMK-II/p-RIP3/p-MLKL/caspase-8,9 signaling pathways. In AP mice, a single dose of the formulation significantly restored pancreatic function (lipase and amylase reduced more by 60%) and improved the survival rate from 50 to 91.6%. The formulation offers a potentially effective strategy for clinical translation in AP treatment.
