RESUMEN

Traditional fermented foods are known to offer cardiovascular health benefits. However, the potential of fermented Chinese chives (FCC) in reducing coronary heart disease (CHD) remains unclear. This study employed anaerobic fermentation to investigate Lactiplantibacillus plantarum (L. plantarum) P470 from FCC. The results indicated that L. plantarum P470 enhanced hydroxyl radical scavenging and exhibited anti-inflammatory effects on RAW264.7 macrophages in the fecal fermentation supernatant of CHD patients. These effects were attributed to the modulation of gut microbiota and metabolites, including short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). Specifically, L. plantarum P470 increased the abundance of Bacteroides and Lactobacillus while decreasing Escherichia-Shigella, Enterobacter, Veillonella, Eggerthella, and Helicobacter in CHD patient fecal samples. Furthermore, L. plantarum P470 regulated the biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids and linoleic acid metabolism. These findings suggest that L. plantarum P470 from FCC can improve the fecal physiological status in patients with CHD by modulating intestinal microbiota, promoting SCFA production, and regulating lipid metabolism.

Thirty percent of deaths worldwide are caused by cardiovascular disorders (CVDs). As per the WHO data, the number of fatalities due to CVDs is 17.9 million years, and it is projected to cause 22.2 million deaths by 2030. In terms of gender, women die from CVD at a rate of 51% compared to 42% for males. Most people use phytochemicals, a type of traditional medicine derived from plants, either in addition to or instead of commercially available medications to treat and prevent CVD. Phytochemicals are useful in lowering cardiovascular risks, especially for lowering blood cholesterol, lowering obesity-related factors, controlling blood sugar and the consequences of type 2 diabetes, controlling oxidative stress factors and inflammation, and preventing platelet aggregation. Medicinal plants that are widely known for treating CVD include ginseng, ginkgo biloba, ganoderma lucidum, gynostemma pentaphyllum, viridis amaranthus, etc. Plant sterol, flavonoids, polyphenols, sulphur compound and terpenoid are the active phytochemicals present in these plants. The aim of this article is to cover more and more drugs that are used for cardiovascular diseases. In this article, we will learn about the use of different herbal drugs, mechanism of action, phytochemical compounds, side effects, etc. However, more research is required to comprehend the process and particular phytochemicals found in plants that treat CVD.

Background: Pericoronary adipose tissue (PCAT) is a sensor of vascular inflammation. Elevated PCAT attenuation values indicate the presence of coronary inflammation in patients. However, it is unclear which clinical characteristics are associated with increased PCAT attenuation values in patients without coronary heart disease (CHD). The study aims to investigate the relationship between increased PCAT attenuation values and clinical characteristics of patients without CHD. Methods: We recruited 785 eligible patients without CHD who underwent coronary computed tomographic angiography (CCTA). Clinical data were recorded for each patient, and PCAT attenuation values for the left anterior descending branch (LADPCAT), left circumflex branch (LCXPCAT), and right coronary artery (RCAPCAT) were quantified by CCTA using fully automated software. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify the associations between different clinical characteristics and elevated LADPCAT, LCXPCAT, and RCAPCAT. Results: Univariate analysis showed body mass index (BMI) to be positively associated with LADPCAT (rs=0.109), LCXPCAT (rs=0.076), and RCAPCAT (rs=0.083). Moreover, the duration of smoking, and drinking was positively associated with LADPCAT (rs=0.099, 0.165). Hyperlipidemia was positively associated with LADPCAT (rs=0.089) and RCAPCAT (rs=0.334), while statin use was negatively associated with RCAPCAT (rs=-0.145). Multivariate analysis showed that the significant determinants of LADPCAT were BMI (ß=0.359, P=0.001), duration of smoking (ß=2.612, P=0.002), drinking (ß=4.106, P<0.001), and hyperlipidemia (ß=1.664, P=0.027). LCXPCAT was associated with BMI (ß=0.218, P=0.024), while RCAPCAT was associated with hyperlipidemia (ß=6.110, P<0.001) and statin use (ß=-3.338, P<0.001). Conclusions: In patients without CHD, the PCAT attenuation values measured using CCTA were associated with various clinical characteristics. LADPCAT was associated with BMI, smoking duration, drinking, and hyperlipidemia. On the other hand, LCXPCAT was associated with BMI, while RCAPCAT was associated with hyperlipidemia and statin use.

Bifidobacterium longum (B. longum) is a beneficial anaerobic bacteria that may improve cardiovascular disease (CVD). We studied B. longum L556, isolated from healthy human feces, in coronary heart disease (CHD) patients through anaerobic fermentation in vitro. Results showed that B. longum L556 increased Lactobacillus, Faecalibacterium, Prevotella, and Alistipes, while reducing Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes, Eggerthella, Veillonella, Holdemanella, and Erysipelotrichaceae_UCG-003 in the gut microbiota of CHD patients. B. longum L556 also enhanced anti-inflammatory effects by modulating gut microbiota and metabolites like SCFAs. Additionally, it regulated lipid and amino acid metabolism in fermentation metabolites from the CHD group. These findings suggest that B. longum L556 has potential for improving CHD by modulating the intestinal microbiota, promoting SCFA production, and regulating lipid metabolism and inflammation.

BACKGROUND: Trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) is a metabolite derived from the gut microbiota and has been reported to be correlated with cardiovascular diseases. Although TMAO is associated with the severity of coronary artery disease in subjects with coronary heart disease (CHD) history. However, the correlation between TMAO and the atherosclerotic burden in newly diagnosed cases of CHD is unknown. METHODS: In this hospital-based study, we enrolled 429 individuals newly diagnosed with CHD undergoing coronary angiography. Plasma TMAO was assessed before coronary angiography. SYNTAX score was computed during coronary angiography to estimate the coronary artery atherosclerotic burden. Both linear and logistic regression analyses were conducted to explore the correlation between plasma TMAO levels and SYNTAX score in newly diagnosed CHD population. RESULTS: The TMAO in patients with SYNTAX ≥ 33 and subjects with SYNTAX < 23 were 6.10 (interquartile range [IQR]: 3.53 to 9.15) µmol/L and 4.90 [IQR: 3.25 to 7.68] µmol/L, respectively. Linear regression adjusting for traditional risk factors showed TMAO level was positively correlated with SYNTAX score (ß = 0.179; p = 0.006) in CHD population. When TMAO was added to models with traditional risk factors, the predictive value improved significantly, with the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) increased from 0.7312 to 0.7502 (p = 0.003). Stratified analysis showed that the correlations did not hold true for subjects who were non-smoker or with histories of diabetes. None of the stratifying factors significantly altered the correlation (all p for interaction < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: We found a positive linear correlation between plasma TMAO and SYNTAX score among newly diagnosed CHD individuals in Chinese population.

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a leading cause of mortality globally and poses a significant threat to public health. Coronary angiography (CAG) is a gold standard for the clinical diagnosis of CHD, but its invasiveness restricts its widespread application. In this study, we utilized a pulse diagnostic device equipped with pressure and photoelectric sensors to synchronously and non-invasively capture wrist pressure pulse waves and fingertip photoplethysmography (FPPG) of patients undergoing CAG. The extracted features were utilized in constructing random forest-based models to assessing the severity of coronary artery lesions. Notably, Model 3, incorporating both wrist pulse and FPPG features, surpassed Model 1 (solely utilizing wrist pulse features) and Model 2 (solely utilizing FPPG features). Model3 achieved an Accuracy, Precision, Recall, and F1-score of 78.79%, 78.69%, 78.79%, and 78.70%, respectively. Compared to Model1 and Model2, Model 3 exhibited improvements by 4.55%, 5.25%, 4.55%, and 5.12%, and 6.06%, 6.58%, 6.06%, and 6.54% respectively. This fusion of wrist pulse and FPPG features in Model 3 highlights the advantages of multi-source information fusion for model optimization. Additionally, this research provides invaluable insights into the novel development of diagnostic devices imbued with TCM principles and their potential in managing cardiovascular diseases.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to construct a coronary heart disease (CHD) risk-prediction model in people living with human immunodeficiency virus (PLHIV) with the help of machine learning (ML) per electronic medical records (EMRs). METHODS: Sixty-one medical characteristics (including demography information, laboratory measurements, and complicating disease) readily available from EMRs were retained for clinical analysis. These characteristics further aided the development of prediction models by using seven ML algorithms [light gradient-boosting machine (LightGBM), support vector machine (SVM), eXtreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), adaptive boosting (AdaBoost), decision tree, multilayer perceptron (MLP), and logistic regression]. The performance of this model was assessed using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). Shapley additive explanation (SHAP) was further applied to interpret the findings of the best-performing model. RESULTS: The LightGBM model exhibited the highest AUC (0.849; 95% CI, 0.814-0.883). Additionally, the SHAP plot per the LightGBM depicted that age, heart failure, hypertension, glucose, serum creatinine, indirect bilirubin, serum uric acid, and amylase can help identify PLHIV who were at a high or low risk of developing CHD. CONCLUSION: This study developed a CHD risk prediction model for PLHIV utilizing ML techniques and EMR data. The LightGBM model exhibited improved comprehensive performance and thus had higher reliability in assessing the risk predictors of CHD. Hence, it can potentially facilitate the development of clinical management techniques for PLHIV care in the era of EMRs.

A 66-year-old neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) patient with polyarticular pain for nine years, aggravated for two days, was transferred from the Emergency Intensive Care Unit (EICU) to our rheumatology department. She was diagnosed with NF1 nine years ago by a gene mutation detection and coronary heart disease (CHD) three months ago. The patient was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) this time. After 24 days of treatment with appropriate medication, the patient was discharged with relieved joint pain. However, about four months later, the patient died of circulatory failure caused by myocardial infarction. We analyzed the possible reasons for her outcome and made a review of the literature. There are few clinical reports of NF1 complicated with RA. We found five cases reported in the literature up to date during our search and included them in our communication to compare with our case. NF1 combined with RA mainly affects adult women and usually starts with NF1 and is followed by RA after at least six years of NF1 symptom onset. Although the summarized characteristics of clinical and potential pathogenesis of NF1 combined with RA were limited with these six cases, we hope that this will help clinicians to increase their understanding of this rare complication, thus helping to guide clinical medication.

Background: Although atherosclerosis (AS) can affect multiple vascular beds, previous studies have focused on the analysis of single-site AS plaques. Objective: The aim of this study is to explore the differences or similarities in the characteristics of atherosclerotic plaque found in the internal carotid artery, cerebral artery, and coronary artery between patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and those without events. Methods: Patients aged ≥ 18 years who underwent both high-resolution vessel wall imaging (HR-VWI) and coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) were retrospectively collected and categorized into the ASCVD group and the non-event group. The plaques were then categorized into culprit plaques, non-culprit plaques, and non-event plaques. Plaque morphological data such as stenosis, stenosis grades, plaque length (PL), plaque volume (PV), minimal lumen area (MLA), enhancement grade, and plaque composition data such as calcified plaque volume (CPV), fibrotic plaque volume (FPV), fibro-lipid plaque volume (FLPV), lipid plaque volume (LPV), calcified plaque volume ratio (CPR), fibrotic plaque volume ratio (FPR), fibro-lipid plaque ratio (FLPR), lipid plaque volume ratio (LPR), intraplaque hemorrhage volume (IPHV), and intraplaque hemorrhage volume ratio (IPHR)were recorded and analyzed. Results: A total of 44 patients (mean age 66 years, SD 9 years, 28 men) were included. In cervicocephalic plaques, the ASCVD group had more severe stenosis grades (p = 0.030) and demonstrated significant differences in LPV, LPR, and CPV (p = 0.044, 0.030, 0.020) compared with the non-event group. In coronary plaques, the ASCVD group had plaques with greater stenosis (p < 0.001), more severe stenosis grades (p < 0.001), larger volumes (p = 0.001), longer length (p = 0.008), larger FLPV (p = 0.012), larger FPV (p = 0.002), and higher FPR (p = 0.043) compared with the non-event group. There were significant differences observed in stenosis (HR-VWI, CCTA: p < 0.001, p < 0.001), stenosis grades (HR-VWI, CCTA: p < 0.001, p < 0.001), plaque length (HR-VWI, CCTA: p = 0.028, p < 0.001), and plaque volume (HR-VWI, CCTA: p = 0.013, p = 0.018) between the non-event plaque, non-culprit plaque, and culprit plaque. In the image analysis of HR-VWI, there were differences observed between IPHR (p < 0.001), LPR (p = 0.001), FPV (p = 0.011), and CPV (p = 0.015) among the three groups of plaques. FLPV and FPV were significantly different among the three different plaque types from the coronary artery (p = 0.043, p = 0.022). Conclusion: There is a consistent pattern of change in plaque characteristics between the cervicocephalic and coronary arteries in the same patient.

BACKGROUND: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a leading cause of death globally, and psychological factors are increasingly recognized as playing a significant role in its prognosis. This study aimed to assess the public's awareness of psychological factors affecting CHD prognosis in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. METHODS: A cross-sectional online survey was conducted with 385 participants recruited randomly. The survey collected data on sociodemographic characteristics and respondents' opinions regarding the effects of negative and positive psychological factors on CHD prognosis, including differences based on age and gender. RESULTS: The majority of participants (96.9%) agreed that negative psychological factors, such as stress (80.5%), anxiety (76.9%), and depression (67.5%), influence CHD prognosis. Positive factors like satisfaction (79.2%) and happiness (75.6%) were also recognized as influential. Participants aged 30-50 and over 50 demonstrated higher awareness of the link between psychological factors and CHD compared to those under 30. No significant gender differences were observed in knowledge levels. CONCLUSION: This study suggests that the Makkah population has a good understanding of the impact of psychological factors on CHD prognosis. Integrating this knowledge into comprehensive health education programs could benefit CHD prevention, management, and prognosis in the region. Future research should explore broader populations and utilize diverse methodologies to refine and generalize these findings.

BACKGROUND: The majority of patients in disease management programs (DMPs) for type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and coronary heart disease (CHD) in Germany are enrolled by their general practitioner (GP). The aim of this study was, in the context of upcoming DMP expansions, to elicit GPs' current experiences and opinions regarding the perceived effectiveness and acceptance of the DMPs T2DM and CHD, as well as to determine beneficial and hindering aspects of the implementation of these programs from a GP's perspective. METHODS: In August and September 2020, 20 GPs of teaching practices of the University Hospital Cologne with experiences in DMPs were interviewed in semi-structured focus group discussions. Their expectations, attitudes and opinions regarding the DMPs T2DM and CHD were evaluated and analyzed according to the content-structuring qualitative content analysis by Kuckartz. RESULTS: The DMP T2DM was rated as generally positive by the respondents due to the structured treatment including regular foot and eye examinations, close patient contacts and perceptions of improved health outcomes. The DMP CHD was rated more negatively by the respondents because of a high and partly unnecessary documentation workload and limited therapeutic freedom, leading to a perceived ineffectiveness for patients' health outcomes. Thus, there was a discrepancy in the perceived effectiveness of the examined DMPs, causing a lower acceptance of the DMP CHD. Therefore, some of the respondents tended to enroll fewer patients into the DMP CHD or to drop out of the DMP CHD. DISCUSSION: In order to increase the acceptance and sustainability of DMPs some elements of the DMP CHD as well as the remuneration and the documentation need to be reconsidered. Additionally, future studies on the acceptance of DMPs should differentiate between different DMPs in order to generate valid results.

Cardiac blood cysts are rare benign tumors. It is commonly found in the heart valve and left ventricle of newborns by autopsy and is rarely seen in adults [1, 2]. The typical histopathology of cardiac blood cysts is a closed, round, blood-containing cystic mass attached to the heart valve or endocardium. This article reports a rare case of sudden death due to a giant subaortic cardiac blood cyst with coronary heart disease in an adult patient and summarizes the pathological features, aiming to provide a reference for the forensic pathological identification of cardiac blood cysts.

BACKGROUND: The relationship between genetically-driven liver fat and coronary heart disease (CHD) remains unclear. ApoB-containing lipoproteins are known causal factors for CHD and may explain this relationship. METHODS AND RESULTS: We conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) in the UK Biobank to identify genetic variants associated with liver fat. We then investigated the effects that these genetic variants had on both apoB-containing lipoproteins and CHD. Using Mendelian Randomization (MR) analyses, we examined if the relationship between genetically-driven liver fat and CHD could be attributed to its effect on apoB-containing lipoproteins. We found 25 independent liver-fat associated single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) with differing effects on lipoprotein metabolism. The SNPs were classified into three groups/clusters. The first cluster (N = 3 SNPs) displayed lipoprotein-raising effects. The second cluster (N = 12 SNPs) displayed neutral effects on lipoproteins and the third cluster (N = 10 SNPs) displayed lipoprotein-lowering effects. For every 1% higher liver fat, the first cluster showed an increased risk of CHD (OR = 1.157 [95% CI: 1.108-1.208]). The second cluster showed a non-significant effect on CHD (OR = 0.988 [95% CI: 0.965-1.012], whereas the third cluster showed a protective effect of increased liver fat on CHD (OR = 0.942 [95% CI: 0.897-0.989]). When adjusting for apoB, the risk for CHD became null. CONCLUSIONS: Here, we identify 25 liver-fat associated SNPs. We find that SNPs that increase, decrease or have neutral effects on apoB-containing lipoproteins show increased, decreased or neutral effects on CHD, respectively. Therefore, the relationship between genetically-driven liver fat and CHD is mediated by the causal effect of apoB.

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the most common clinical manifestation of cardiovascular disease. It is characterized by myocardial ischemia, which is caused by coronary atherosclerosis. CHD is a significant global health problem with increasing prevalence every year because of significant changes in the lifestyles and diets. Ginseng is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb that has been used in food preparations and traditional medicine for several centuries. Several studies have demonstrated that ginseng improved cardiac function by normalizing blood glucose levels and decreasing blood pressure, oxidative stress, platelet aggregation, and lipid dysregulation in vivo. This review describes the current understanding of the mechanisms by which ginseng alleviates CHD, and provides a reference for the clinical development and application of ginseng as an alternative therapy for CHD.

Background: Computed tomography-derived fractional flow reserve (CT-FFR) is a non-invasive imagological examination used for diagnosing suspected coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, providing the morphological and functional value on a three-dimensional (3D) coronary artery model. This article aimed to collate the existing knowledge and predict this novel technology's future research hotspots. Methods: To collect data, 1,712 articles were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database from 2012-2022. CiteSpace5.8.R3 was used to visually analyze the research status and predict future research hotspots. Results: Firstly, the United States, China, and the Netherlands were identified as the countries having published the most articles about CT-FFR. Jonathan Leipsic's group ranked first for the highest number of published articles. Secondly, the visualized analysis indicated that the exploration of CT-FFR is multi-disciplinary and involves cardiology, radiology, engineering, and computer science. Thirdly, the hotspots in this field, which were inferred from the keyword distribution and clustering, included the following: "diagnostic performance", "accuracy", and the "prognostic value" of CT-FFR, and comparison of CT-FFR and other imaging methods sharing similarities. The research frontiers included technologies utilized to obtain more accurate CT-FFR values, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning. Pyroptosis, an apoptotic pathway for pro-inflammatory cells, has attracted attention from researchers because of its role in the development of cardiac inflammation reactions. Chinese medicine (CM) has been given more and more attention during the pursuit of a treatment for coronary heart disease (CHD). Evidence suggests that myocardial cell pyroptosis affects the progression of CHD. Pyroptosis pathways include the canonical pyroptosis pathway mediated by the caspase-1 inflammasome and the non-canonical pyroptosis pathway induced by cytoplasmic lipopolysaccharide-activated caspase-4/5/11. The frequently studied compounds that regulate pyroptosis in CHD include astragaloside IV (AS-IV), tanshinone IIA, aucubin, cinnamaldehyde (CD), ginsenoside Rb1, paeoniflorin, apigenin, berberine (BBR), ruscogenin (Rus), and total glucosides of paeonia (TGP). The patent drugs of CM that regulate pyroptosis in CHD include the Qishen granule (QSG), the Simiao Yong'an decoction (SMYAD), the Buyang Huanwu decoction (BYHWD), and the Shexiang Baoxin pill (SBP). Therefore, this paper reviews the pathogenesis of pyroptosis, the role of pyroptosis in CHD, and the potential therapeutic roles of CMs and their active ingredients targeting cell pyroptosis in the development of CHD.

Shift work has emerged as a significant health concern in recent years, and research has revealed a link to circadian rhythm dysregulation and atherosclerosis, both of which can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Currently, there is a lack of updated reviews regarding the impact of shiftwork on CVD. Thus, the present narrative review aims to provide a comprehensive summary of the latest research on the relationship between shift work and CVD, identify potential gaps in the current knowledge, and highlight areas for future research. Database searches for peer-reviewed articles published between January 2013 to January 2023 on shift work associated CVD revealed many studies that found shift work is linked with increased prevalence of carotid artery plaque, increased arterial stiffness, and carotid artery intima-media thickness (IMT) all suggestive of a progression of atherosclerosis attributable to shift work. Hypertension, diabetes, and a sedentary lifestyle are known risks for CVD, and the results of the present study suggest that shift work should be added to that list. The elevation of inflammatory markers and DNA damage in shift workers may be linked to their increased progression of atherosclerosis and the positive association of shift work with coronary artery disease. There are minimal studies on mitigating approaches for shift work-related CVD, such as diet modification or exercise, emphasizing the need for further directed research in this area.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the major cause of morbidity and mortality globally. Accumulating evidence indicates that coronary heart disease (CHD) contributes to the majority of cardiovascular deaths. With the development of precision medicine, the diagnosis and treatment of coronary heart disease are becoming more refined and individualized. Molecular diagnosis technology and individualized treatment are gradually applied to the clinical diagnosis and treatment of CHD. It is great significance to seek sensitive biological indicators to help early diagnosis and improve prognosis of CHD. Liquid biopsy is a minimally invasive technique, which is widely used to detect molecular biomarkers of tumors without invasive biopsy. Compared with the field of oncology, it is not easy to get the diseased tissue in CVD, especially CHD. Therefore, the idea of "fluid biopsy" is very attractive, and its progress may provide new and useful noninvasive indicators for CHD. By analyzing circulating cells or their products in blood, saliva, and urine samples, we can investigate the molecular changes that occur in each patient at a specific point in time, thus continuously monitoring the evolution of CHD. For example, the assessment of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) levels may help predict the severity of acute myocardial infarction and diagnose heart transplant rejection. Moreover, the unmethylated FAM101A gene may specifically track the cfDNA derived from cardiomyocyte death, which provides a powerful diagnostic biomarker for apoptosis during ischemia. In addition, the changes of plasma circulating miR-92 levels may predict the occurrence of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) onset in patients with diabetes. Liquid biopsy can reflect the disease state through patients' body fluids and may noninvasively provide dynamic and rich molecular information related to CHD. It has great application potential in early warning and auxiliary diagnosis, real-time monitoring of curative effect, medication guidance and exploration of drug resistance mechanism, prognosis judgment, and risk classification of CHD. This chapter will review the latest progress of liquid biopsy in accurate diagnosis and treatment of CHD, meanwhile explore the application status and clinical prospect of liquid biopsy in CHD, in order to improve the importance of precision medicine and personalized treatment in this field.

Coronary angiography (CAG) provides two-dimensional images, but a clinician who is experienced in percutaneous coronary interventions can use information from these images to interpret spatial depth and infer the three-dimensional (3D) locations of vessels. We hypothesized that CAG results were equivalent to the mirror image of a coronary artery perspective projection, and a stereo perception could be easily established when the viewpoint of the angiogram was the X-ray tube instead of the detector. To eliminate the influence of heartbeat and respiration, a 3D-printed a coronary artery model was constructed for analysis. The effects of gantry movements during digital subtraction angiography (DSA) on the image were used to identify factors that affected DSA image transformation. Then, based on these factors, DSA imaging was simulated using UG NX software with three methods: (i) a perspective projection with the detector as the viewpoint; (ii) a parallel projection; and (iii) a mirror image of the perspective projection with the X-ray tube as the viewpoint. Finally, the resulting 3D images were compared with the DSA image. Our mirror image of the coronary artery perspective projection that used the X-ray tube as the viewpoint fused precisely with the CAG results and provided exact simulations of all the effects of DSA gantry movements on the DSA image. CAG results were equivalent to the mirror image of coronary artery perspective projection, and the stereo perception was easily established using the X-ray tube as the viewpoint.

A number of vaccines have been developed and deployed globally to restrain the spreading of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The adverse effect following vaccination is an important consideration. Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is a kind of rare adverse event after COVID-19 vaccination. Herein, we present a case of an 83-year-old male who suffered cold sweat ten minutes after the first inactivated COVID-19 vaccination and AMI one day later. The emergency coronary angiography showed coronary thrombosis and underlying stenosis in his coronary artery. Type II Kounis syndrome might be a potential mechanism, which is manifested as coronary thrombosis secondary to allergic reactions in patients with underlying asymptomatic coronary heart disease. We also summarize the reported AMI cases post COVID-19 vaccination, as well as overview and discuss the proposed mechanisms of AMI after COVID-19 vaccination, thus providing insights for clinicians to be aware of the possibility of AMI following COVID-19 vaccination and potential underlying mechanisms.
