RESUMEN

A Gram-stain-positive, aerobic, moderate halophilic actinobacterium, designated strain YIM 96095T, was isolated from a saline soil sample collected from Aiding Lake, Xinjiang, North-western China. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that the isolate belonged to the family Nocardiopsidaceae, formed a distinct subclade, and was most closely related to Lipingzhangella halophila DSM 102030T and Allosalinactinospora lopnorensis DSM 45697T with sequence identity values of 95.8 and 95.1%, respectively. Optimal growth occurred at 37 °C, pH 7.0-8.0 and with 5-16% (w/v) NaCl, with well-developed, non-fragmented substrate mycelia and single-, double-, or triple-wrinkled spore(s) on the mature aerial hyphae. The chemical analysis presented meso-diaminopimelic acid as the diagnostic diamino acid of the cell-wall peptidoglycan, and glucose, galactose and rhamnose as the major whole-cell sugars, and iso-C15 : 0 and anteiso-C15 : 0 as the major fatty acids. The phospholipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylcholine, unidentified phospholipids and unidentified glycolipid. The menaquinones were MK-10(H8), MK-10(H6) and MK-9(H10). Its G+C content was 69.7 mol% in the determined genome sequence. Based on phenotypic, chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic characteristics, a novel genus and species named Halostreptopolyspora alba gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed for isolate YIM 96095T (=KCTC 49266T=CGMCC 4.7636T).

RESUMEN

Several strains were isolated from subsurface soil of the Atacama Desert and were previously assigned to the Micromonospora genus. A polyphasic study was designed to determine the taxonomic affiliation of isolates 4G51T, 4G53, and 4G57. All the strains showed chemotaxonomic properties in line with their classification in the genus Micromonospora, including meso-diaminopimelic acid in the cell wall peptidoglycan, MK-9(H4) as major respiratory quinone, iso-C15:0 and iso-C16:0 as major fatty acids and diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylinositol as major polar lipids. The 16S rRNA gene sequences of strains 4G51T, 4G53, and 4G57 showed the highest similarity (97.9 %) with the type strain of Micromonospora costi CS1-12T, forming an independent branch in the phylogenetic gene tree. Their independent position was confirmed with genome phylogenies, being most closely related to the type strain of Micromonospora kangleipakensis. Digital DNA-DNA hybridization and average nucleotide identity analyses between the isolates and their closest phylogenomic neighbours confirmed that they should be assigned to a new species within the genus Micromonospora for which the name Micromonospora sicca sp. nov. (4G51T=PCM 3031T=LMG 30756T) is proposed.

RESUMEN

A Gram-stain-positive, rod-shaped, aerobic, motile bacterium, J379T, was isolated from radioactive water spring C1, located in a former silver-uranium mine in the Czech Republic. This slow-growing strain exhibited optimal growth at 24-28 °C on solid media with <1 % salt concentration and alkaline pH 8-10. The only respiratory quinone found in strain J379T was MK-7(H4). C18 : 1 ω9c (60.9 %), C18 : 0 (9.4 %), C16 : 0 and alcohol-C18 : 0 (both 6.2 %) were found to be the major fatty acids. The peptidoglycan contained directly cross-linked meso-diaminopimelic acid. Phylogenetic reconstruction based on the 16S rRNA gene sequences and the core-genome analysis revealed that strain J379T forms a separate phylogenetic lineage within the recently amended order Solirubrobacterales. A comparison of the 16S rRNA gene sequences between strain J379T and other members of the order Solirubrobacterales showed <96 % similarity. This analysis revealed that the closest type strains were Parviterribacter kavangonensis D16/0 /H6T (95.2 %), Capillimicrobium parvum 0166_1T (94.9 %) and Conexibacter arvalis KV-962T (94.5 %). Whole-genome analysis showed that the closest type strain was Baekduia soli BR7-21T with an average nucleotide identity of 78 %, average amino acid identity of 63.2 % and percentage of conserved proteins of 48.2 %. The G+C content of the J379T genomic DNA was 71.7 mol%. Based on the phylogenetic and phylogenomic data, as well as its physiological characteristics, strain J379T is proposed to represent a type strain (DSM 113746T=CCM 9300T) of Svornostia abyssi gen. nov. sp. nov. within the family Baekduiaceae.

RESUMEN

An endophytic actinobacterium, strain PIP175T, was isolated from the root sample of a native apricot tree (Pittosporum angustifolium) growing on the Bedford Park campus of Flinders University, Adelaide, South Australia. This strain is a Gram stain-positive, aerobic actinobacterium with well-developed substrate mycelia. Aerial mycelia rarely produce spores and the spore chain is spiral. Strain PIP175T showed the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity to Streptomyces aculeolatus DSM 41644T (99.4 %). Other closely related phylogenetic representatives include Streptomyces synnematoformans DSM 41902T (98.3 %), Streptomyces albospinus NBRC 13846T (97.6 %), Streptomyces cacaoi subsp. cacaoi NRRL B-1220T (97.5 %) and Streptomyces ruber NBRC 14600T (97.4 %). The major cellular fatty acid of this strain was iso-C16 : 0 and the major menaquinone was MK-9(H6). The whole-cell sugar contained galactose, glucose and mannose. Chemotaxonomic data confirmed that strain PIP175T belonged to the genus Streptomyces. Digital DNA-DNA hybridization, average nucleotide identity based on blast and OrthoANIu results between strain PIP175T and S. aculeolatus DSM 41644T were 60.0, 94.1 and 94.9 %, respectively. Genotypic and phenotypic data and genome analysis results allowed the differentiation of strain PIP175T from its closest species with validly published names. Strain PIP175T showed good activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus 03120385. Genome mining of strain PIP175T revealed biosynthetic genes encoding proteins relating to antibiotic production, plant growth promotion and biodegradation enzymes. The name proposed for the new species is Streptomyces phytophilus sp. nov. The type strain is PIP175T (=DSM 103379T=TBRC 6026T).

RESUMEN

A novel actinomycete, designated strain S1-112 T, was isolated from a mangrove soil sample from Hainan, China, and characterized using a polyphasic approach. Strain S1-112 T showed the highest similarity of the 16S rRNA gene to Streptomonospora nanhaiensis 12A09T (99.24%). Their close relationship was further supported by phylogenetic analyses, which placed these two strains within a stable clade. The highest values of digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH, 41.4%) and average nucleotide identity (ANI, 90.55%) were detected between strain S1-112 T and Streptomonospora halotolerans NEAU-Jh2-17 T. Genotypic and phenotypic characteristics demonstrated that strain S1-112 T could be distinguished from its closely related relatives. We also profiled the pan-genome and metabolic features of genomic assemblies of strains belonging to the genus Streptomonospora, indicating similar functional capacities and metabolic activities. However, all of these strains showed promising potential for producing diverse types of secondary metabolites. In conclusion, strain S1-112 T represents a novel species of the genus Streptomonospora, for which the name Streptomonospora mangrovi sp. nov. was proposed. The type strain is S1-112 T (= JCM 34292 T).

RESUMEN

Two aerobic, Gram-staining-positive, rod-shaped, endospore-forming, thermophilic bacterial strains, designated FJAT-47801T and FJAT-47835, were isolated from the sediment collected from Zhangjiang Estuary Mangrove National Nature Reserve in Fujian Province, China. Growth was observed at 25-55 °C (optimum, 50 °C) and pH 7.0-9.0 (optimum, pH 7.0), with up to 4.0% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, without NaCl). Strains FJAT-47801T and FJAT-47835 showed the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity to Bacillus oleivorans (98.5%). The 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity between FJAT-47801T and FJAT-47835 was 99.9% indicating they were the same species. Phylogenetic (based on 16S rRNA gene sequences) and phylogenomic (based on 120 conserved bacterial single-copy genes) trees showed that strains FJAT-47801T and FJAT-47835 should be affiliated to the genus Bacillus. The of menaquinone of strain FJAT-47801T was MK-7. The major fatty acids of strain FJAT-47801T were iso-C15:0, anteiso-C15:0, iso-C17:0, and C16:0. The major polar lipids strain FJAT-47801T were phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), diphosphatidylglycerol (DPG), and phosphatidylglycerol (PG). The genomic DNA G+C content of strain FJAT-47801T was 39.3%. The average nucleotide identity (84.3%) and the digital DNA-DNA hybridization value (28.1%) between strain FJAT-47801T and B. oleivorans CCTCC AB 2013353T were below the cut-off level for species delineation. Based on the above results, strain FJAT-47801T represents a novel species of the genus Bacillus, for which the name Bacillus litorisediminis sp. nov., is proposed. The type strain is FJAT-47801T (=GDMCC 1.2712T = JCM 34875T).

RESUMEN

A novel actinomycete strain, designated H8589T, was isolated from a lake sediment sample, and a polyphasic approach was employed to determine its taxonomic position. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene indicated that strain H8589T formed a monophyletic clade within the genus Sphaerisporangium and was most closely related to Sphaerisporangium siamense DSM 45784 T (97.9% similarity) and Sphaerisporangium rufum DSM 46862 T (97.7% similarity). The draft genome had a length of 10,134,050 bp with a G + C content of 71.2%. The average nucleotide identity, average amino acid identity and digital DNA-DNA hybridization values between strain H8589T and its closely related Sphaerisporangium species were 80.6 ~ 83.2%, 73.9 ~ 78.4% and 24.5 ~ 29.0%, respectively, which were significantly lower than the widely accepted species-defined threshold. The diagnostic diamino acid of the peptidoglycan was meso-diaminopimelic acid. Whole-cell sugars were glucose, ribose and madurose. The menaquinones were MK-9(H4), MK-9(H2), MK-9(H6) and MK-9. The phospholipid profile consisted of diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, hydroxy-phosphatidylethanolamine, unidentified phospholipids and unidentified aminophospholipids. The major fatty acids were identified as iso-C16:0, 10-methyl-C17:0 and C17:0. The results of phenotypic properties, genotypic distinctiveness and chemotaxonomic features indicated that strain H8589T should represent a novel species within the genus Sphaerisporangium, Sphaerisporangium fuscum sp.nov. The type strain is H8589T (= JCM 34848 T = CICC 25115 T).

RESUMEN

A urease-producing Gram-stain-positive actinobacterium, designated strain T5T, was isolated from a soil sample collected at a highway hillslope in Selangor, Malaysia. The strain was found to produce pale yellowish-pink aerial mycelia with smooth long chain spores and extensively branched light yellowish-pink substrate mycelia on oatmeal agar. Strain T5T grew at 15-37 °C, pH 6-11, and tolerated up to 9 % (w/v) NaCl, with optimal growth occurring at 28 °C, pH 6-9 and without NaCl. The whole-cell sugar hydrolysate of strain T5T contained galactose, glucose and ribose. The ll-diaminopimelic acid isomer was detected in the cell wall. Diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol and phosphatidylinositol were found to be the predominant polar lipids. The main fatty acids were anteiso-C17 : 0, iso-C16 : 0, anteiso-C15 : 0 and iso-C14 : 0. Comparative analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that strain T5T belonged to Streptomyces of the family Streptomycetaceae with the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity to Streptomyces lichenis LCR6-01T (99.0 %). The overall genome relatedness indices revealed that the closest related species was S. lichenis LCR6-01T with 89.4 % average nucleotide identity and 33.7 % digital DNA-DNA hybridization. Phylogeny analyses showed that strain T5T was closely related to Streptomyces fradiae, Streptomyces lavendofoliae, Streptomyces lichenis, Streptomyces roseolilacinus and Streptomyces somaliensis. Based on these polyphasic data, strain T5T represents a novel species, for which the name Streptomyces solincola sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is T5T (=TBRC 5137T= DSM 42166T).

RESUMEN

Two strictly aerobic, Gram-staining-positive, non-spore-forming, regular rod-shaped (approximately 0.7 × 1.9 mm) bacteria (HY170T and HY001) were isolated from bat feces collected from Chongzuo city, Guangxi province (22°20'54″N, 106°49'20″E, July 2011) and Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan province (25°09'10″N, 102°04'39″E, October 2013) of South China, respectively. Optimal growth is obtained at 25-28°C (range, 4-32°C) on BHI-5% sheep blood plate with pH 7.5 (range, 5.0-10.0) in the presence of 0.5-1.0% NaCl (w/v) (range, 0-15% NaCl [w/v]). The phylogenetic and phylogenomic trees based respectively on the 16S rRNA gene and 845 core gene sequences revealed that the two strains formed a distinct lineage within the genus Brevibacterium, most closely related to B. aurantiacum NCDO 739T (16S rRNA similarity, both 98.5%; dDDH, 46.7-46.8%; ANI, 91.9-92.1%). Strain HY170T contained MK-8(H2), diphosphatidylglycerol (DPG) and phosphatidylglycerol (PG), galactose and ribose as the predominant menaquinone, major polar lipids, and main sugars in the cell wall teichoic acids, respectively. The meso-diaminopimelic acid (meso-DAP) was the diagnostic diamino acid of the peptidoglycan found in strain HY170T. Anteiso-C15:0 and anteiso-C17:0 were the major fatty acids (> 10%) of strains HY170T and HY001, with anteiso-C17:1A predominant in strain HY170T but absent in strain HY001. Mining the genomes revealed the presence of secondary metabolite biosynthesis gene clusters encoding for non-alpha poly-amino acids (NAPAA), ectoine, siderophore, and terpene. Based on results from the phylogenetic, chemotaxonomic and phenotypic analyses, the two strains could be classified as a novel species of the genus Brevibacterium, for which the name Brevibacterium zhoupengii sp. nov. is proposed (type strain HY170T = CGMCC 1.18600T = JCM 34230T).

RESUMEN

Two bacterial strains, designated REN4T and REN4-1, were isolated from daqu sample collected from baijiu factory located in Shanxi, China. The two strains shared highly similar 16S rRNA gene sequences (99.67% identities) and formed a monophyletic clade within the Brevibacterium 16S rRNA gene tree, showing 97.56-97.85% 16S rRNA gene sequence identities with type strains Brevibacterium permense VKM Ac-2280 T, Brevibacterium sediminis FXJ8.269 T, Brevibacterium oceani BBH7T and Brevibacterium epidermidis NCIMB 702286 T. They contained MK-8(H2) as the most predominant menaquinone, antesio-C15:0, antesio-C17:0, Iso-C16:0 and Iso-C17:0 as the major cellular fatty acids, DPG (diphosphatidylglycerol), PG (phosphatidylglycerol), PGL (phosphatidylglycerollipids), and PL (phospholipids) as the main polar lipids. The genomic DNA G + C content of strains REN4 and REN4-1 were 64.35, 65.82 mol%. Moreover, the low DNA-DNA relatedness values, physiological and biochemical characteristics, and taxonomic analysis allowed the differentiation of strains REN4T and REN4-1 from the other recognized species of the genus Brevibacterium. Therefore, strain REN4T represents a novel species of the genus Brevibacterium, for which the name Brevibacterium renqingii sp. nov. is proposed, with the type strain REN4T (= JCM 33953 T = KCTC 49366 T).

RESUMEN

An endospore producing, strict aerobic, Gram-stain-positive, orange-colored colony forming bacterium designated as strain JC1013T was isolated from an orange pond near a solar saltern of Tamil Nadu, India. Phylogenetic analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that strain was affiliated to the family Bacillaceae of the phylum Firmicutes. Strain showed highest 16S rRNA gene sequence identity of 98.7% with Mesobacillus selenatarsenatis SF-1 T and below 98.3% with other members of the genus Mesobacillus. Strain JC1013T produced carotenoid pigments and indole compounds. Major cellular fatty acids of strain JC1013T were iso-C15:0, anteiso-C15:0, C16:0 3-OH, iso-C17:0ω10c and summed feature 4 (iso-C17:1 I/ anteisoB). Polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, two unidentified aminolipids and four unidentified phospholipids. Strain JC1013T constituted m-diaminopimelic acid as diagnostic cell wall amino acids. MK-7 is the predominant menaquinone of strain JC1013T. The genome size of strain JC1013T was 4.6 Mbp and its G + C content was 42.7 mol%. For the affirmation of strain's taxonomic status, a detailed phylogenomic study was done. Based on the phylogenetic analyses, low ANI (84.6%), AAI (88.5%) values, in-silico DDH (< 29%) value, morphological, physiological and chemo-taxonomical characteristics, strain JC1013T was clearly distinguished from the nearest phylogenetic neighbor, Mesobacillus selenatarsenatis SF-1T to conclude that it is a new species of the genus Mesobacillus. We propose the name as Mesobacillus aurantius with type strain JC1013T (= NBRC 114146T = KACC 21451 T).

RESUMEN

An alkaliphilic actinomycete, designated HAJB-30 T, was isolated from a soda alkali-saline soil in Heilongjiang, Northeast China. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain HAJB-30 T was most closely related to type strains of the genus Phytoactinopolyspora with sequence similarities ranging between 93.5 and 98.9%. Strain HAJB-30 T grew at pH 8.0-11.0 (optimum pH 9.5-10.0) and in the presence of 0-7.0% NaCl (optimum 1.0-3.0%). Whole-cell hydrolysates of the isolate contained LL-diaminopimelic acid as the diagnostic diamino acid and mannose and rhamnose as diagnostic sugars. The major fatty acids identified were iso-C14:0, iso-C15:0, anteiso-C15:0, iso-C16:0 and anteiso-C17:0, while the menaquinone was MK-9(H4). The genome (6,589,901 bp), composed of 50 contigs, had a G + C content of 66.8%. Out of the 6074 predicted genes, 6020 were protein-coding genes, and 54 were ncRNAs. Digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) estimation and average nucleotide identity (ANI) of strain HAJB-30 T against genomes of the type strains of related species in the same family ranged between 19.7 and 22.0% and between 71.5 and 76.8%, respectively. From these results, it was concluded that strain HAJB-30 T possesses sufficient characteristics differentiated from all recognized Phytoactinopolyspora species, it is considered to be a novel species for which the name Phytoactinopolyspora limicola sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is HAJB-30 T (= CGMCC 4.7591 T, = JCM 33694 T).

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Long-term high-concentrate (HC) diet feeding increased bacterial endotoxins, which translocated into the mammary glands of dairy goats and induced inflammatory response. γ-d-Glutamyl-meso-diaminopimelic acid (iE-DAP), bacterial peptidoglycan component, triggered inflammatory response through activating nucleotide oligomerization domain protein 1 (NOD1) signaling pathway. While dietary supplemented with sodium butyrate (SB) relieved inflammatory response and improved animal health and production. To investigate the effects and the mechanisms of action of SB on the inflammatory response in the mammary glands of dairy goats fed HC diet, 12 Saanen dairy goats were randomly assigned into HC group and SB regulated (BHC) group. RESULTS: The results showed that SB supplementation attenuated ruminal pH decrease caused by HC diet in dairy goats resulting in a decrease of proinflammatory cytokines and iE-DAP plasma concentration and the mRNA expression of NOD1 and other inflammation-related genes. The protein levels of NOD1, NF-κB p65 and NF-κB pp65 were decreased by the SB supplementation. The expression of histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3) was also inhibited by the SB supplementation. Meanwhile, the chromatin compaction ratios and DNA methylation levels of NOD1 and receptor-interacting protein 2 (RIP2) of BHC group were upregulated. CONCLUSION: Collectively, the SB supplementation mitigated the inflammatory response in the mammary glands of dairy goats during HC-induced subacute ruminal acidosis (SARA) by inhibiting the activation of the NOD1/NF-κB signaling pathway through the decrease of the iE-DAP concentration in the rumen fluid and plasma and HDAC3 expression. DNA methylation and chromatin remodeling also contributed to the anti-inflammatory effect of SB. © 2020 Society of Chemical Industry.

RESUMEN

A novel Bacillus strain, designated SYSU G01002T, was isolated from a sediment sample collected from tepid spring in Tengchong, Yunnan province, south-west PR China. The 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that the strain SYSU G01002T shared the highest sequence identity with the type strain of Bacillus alkalitolerans (97.7%). Strain SYSU G01002T grew at pH 6.0-8.0 (optimum, pH 7.0), at 28-55 °C (optimum, 45 °C) and in the presence of 0-2.5% (w/v) NaCl (optimum in the absence of NaCl). It contained meso-2,6-diaminopimelic acid as the cell-wall diamino acid and MK-7 as isoprenoid quinone. The major cellular fatty acids were iso-C15:0, iso-C17:0 and C16:0. The polar were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, and unidentified phospholipid. The genomic DNA G + C content was 38.0 mol %. The digital DNA-DNA hybridization and average nucleotide identity values between SYSU G01002T and closely related members of the genus Bacillus were below the cut-off level recommended for interspecies identity. Based on the above results, strain SYSU G01002T represents a novel species of the genus Bacillus, for which the name Bacillus tepidiphilus sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain, SYSU G01002T (= KCTC 43131T = CGMCC 1.17491T).

RESUMEN

A novel Gram-stain positive, aerobic, non-motile actinobacterium, designated strain YC537T, was isolated from lake sediment collected from Yenicaga Lake, Bolu, Turkey, and subjected to a polyphasic taxonomic approach. The organism had phylogenetic, chemotaxonomic, cultural and morphological properties consistent with its classification in the genus Streptomyces. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis of strain YC537T showed that it is closely related to the type strain of Streptomyces ziwulingensis F22T (97.9% sequence similarity), Streptomyces tauricus JCM 4837 T (97.7%) and Streptomyces beijiangensis NBRC 100044 T (97.6%). The cell wall of the strain contained LL-diaminopimelic acid and the cell-wall sugars were glucose, galactose and ribose. The major phospholipids of strain YC537T were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylinositol. The predominant menaquinones were identified as MK-9(H6) and MK-9(H8). The major cellular fatty acids were iso-C16:0, iso-C14:0, anteiso-C15:0 and iso-C15:0. Consequently, strain YC537T is considered to represent a novel species in the genus Streptomyces, for which the name Streptomyces boluensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is YC537T (= KCTC 39750 T = DSM 102303 T).

RESUMEN

A Gram-positive, endospore-forming, rod-shaped bacterium with a single flagellum, and a motile strain, designated CX253, was isolated from bioaerosols. The isolate is facultatively anaerobic, is able to grow at 25-45 â„ƒ (optimum 37 â„ƒ) and pH 6.5-10.0 (optimum 7.5), and can tolerate up to 5.0% NaCl (w/v) under aerobic conditions. The diagnostic diamino acid in the cell wall of strain CX253T is meso-diaminopimelic acid, while major isoprenoid quinone is menaquinone 6 (MK-6) along with a smaller amount of MK-7 (20%). The polar lipid profile is composed of diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phospholipids and glycolipids. The major cellular fatty acid is iso-C15:0 and anteiso-C15:0. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene and genome sequence grouped strain CX253T into the genus Bacillus. The strain was most closely related to Bacillus thermotolerans CCTCC AB 2012108 T by comparison of 16S rRNA gene sequence (97.2% similarity) and to Bacillus wudalianchiensis CCTCC AB 2015266 T by comparison of gyrB gene sequence (80.1% similarity). The draft genome of strain CX253T comprised 3,929,195 bp with a G + C content of 43.3 mol%. The average nucleotide identity and digital DNA-DNA hybridization values between strain CX253T and phylogenetically related Bacillus species were lower than 95% and 70%, respectively. Thus, the polyphasic evidence generated through phenotypic, chemotaxonomic and genomic methods confirmed that strain CX253T (= GDMCC 1.1608 T = KACC 21318 T) was a novel species of the genus Bacillus, for which the name Bacillus aerolatus sp. nov. is proposed.

RESUMEN

A novel, Gram-stain-positive bacterium, designated KC615T, was isolated from desert soil which was collected from the Karakum Desert, Turkmenistan. Phylogenetic analysis based on an almost-complete 16S rRNA gene sequence showed that isolate KC615T formed a monophyletic clade with Shimazuella kribbensis KCTC 9933T, sharing 98.2% similarity and polyphasic taxonomic studies confirmed the affiliation of the strain to the genus Shimazuella. The cell-wall peptidoglycan contained meso-diaminopimelic acid. Whole-cell hydrolysates contained ribose and glucose. The major polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine and hydroxy-phosphatidylethanolamine. The predominant menaquinones (> 10%) were MK-9(H4) and MK-10(H4). Major fatty acids were anteiso-C15:0, C20:0 and C18:0. The genomic DNA G + C content observed for strain KC615T was 38.5 mol%. Based on 16S rRNA gene similarity, DNA-DNA hybridization value, chemotaxonomic characteristics and differential physiological properties, strain KC615T is considered to represent a novel species within the genus Shimazuella, for which the name Shimazuella alba sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is KC615T (= JCM 33532T = CGMCC 4.7616T).
