RESUMO

Molybdenum ditelluride (MoTe2) nanosheets have displayed intriguing physicochemical properties and opto-electric characteristics as a result of their tunable and small band gap (Eg ∼ 1 eV), facilitating concurrent electron and hole transport. Despite the numerous efforts devoted to the development of p-type MoTe2 field-effect transistors (FETs), the presence of tellurium (Te) point vacancies has caused serious reliability issues. Here, we overcome this major limitation by treating the MoTe2 surface with thiolated molecules to heal Te vacancies. Comprehensive materials and electrical characterizations provided unambiguous evidence for the efficient chemisorption of butanethiol. Our thiol-treated MoTe2 FET exhibited a 10-fold increase in hole current and a positive threshold voltage shift of 25 V, indicative of efficient hole carrier doping. We demonstrated that our powerful molecular engineering strategy can be extended to the controlled formation of van der Waals heterostructures by developing an n-SnS2/thiol-MoTe2 junction FET (thiol-JFET). Notably, the thiol-JFET exhibited a significant negative photoresponse with a responsivity of 50 A W-1 and a fast response time of 80 ms based on band-to-band tunneling. More interestingly, the thiol-JFET displayed a gate tunable trimodal photodetection comprising two photoactive modes (positive and negative photoresponse) and one photoinactive mode. These findings underscore the potential of molecular engineering approaches in enhancing the performance and functionality of MoTe2-based nanodevices as key components in advanced 2D-based optoelectronics.

Understanding how numerous quantitative trait loci (QTL) shape phenotypic variation is an important question in genetics. To address this, we established a permanent population of 18,421 (18K) rice lines with reduced population structure. We generated reference-level genome assemblies of the founders and genotyped all 18K-rice lines through whole-genome sequencing. Through high-resolution mapping, 96 high-quality candidate genes contributing to variation in 16 traits were identified, including OsMADS22 and OsFTL1 verified as causal genes for panicle number and heading date, respectively. We identified epistatic QTL pairs and constructed a genetic interaction network with 19 genes serving as hubs. Overall, 170 masking epistasis pairs were characterized, serving as an important factor contributing to genetic background effects across diverse varieties. The work provides a basis to guide grain yield and quality improvements in rice.

AIM: We conducted a matched-control analysis to compare the outcomes of large vessel occlusion (LVO) patients treated with mechanical thrombectomy (MT) plus Intra-arterial thrombolysis (IAT) versus those treated with MT alone. METHODS: The subjects of this study were chosen from ANGEL-ACT registry. All patients who received MT were identified and categorized into two groups: "MT + IAT" and "MT," based on whether or not they received additional intra-arterial medication IAT during the MT procedure. After being subjected to 1:1 propensity score matching, the outcome measures, including modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score at 90 days, successful recanalization at the final angiogram, symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) within 36 h, and death within 90 days, were compared. RESULTS: The study encompassed a total of 1607 patients, with 641 individuals assigned to the MT + IAT group and 966 to the MT group. After applying propensity score matching, a total of 524 pairs were identified for comparison. The results indicated that there were no significant differences between the two groups with regard to the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score (median: 3 vs. 3 points; P = 0.83), successful recanalization (89.9 vs. 88.9%; P = 0.62), sICH (8.3 vs. 8.7%; P = 0.79), and death (15.5 vs. 16.4%; P = 0.70). CONCLUSIONS: IAT during MT does not confer an elevated risk of sICH or mortality. Furthermore, the combination of MT and IAT may produce comparable functional outcomes in comparison to MT alone, when treating acute LVO patients.

Recently, lanthanide-based 0D metal halides have attracted considerable attention for their applications in X-ray imaging, light-emitting diodes (LEDs), sensors, and photodetectors. Herein, lead-free 0D gadolinium-alloyed cesium cerium chloride (Gd3+-alloyed Cs3CeCl6) nanocrystals (NCs) are introduced as promising materials for optoelectronic application owing to their unique optical properties. The incorporation of Gd3+ in Cs3CeCl6 (CCC) NCs is proposed to increase the photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) from 57% to 96%, along with significantly enhanced phase and chemical stability. The structural analysis is performed by density functional theory (DFT) to confirm the effect of Gd3+ in Cs3Ce1- xGdxCl6 (CCGC) alloy system. Moreover, the CCGC NCs are applied as the active layer in UVPDs with different Gd3+ concentration. The excellent device performance is shown at 20% of Gd3+ in CCGC NCs with high detectivity (7.938 × 1011 Jones) and responsivity (0.195 A W-1) at -0.1 V at 310 nm. This study paves the way for the development of lanthanide-based metal halide NCs for next-generation UVPDs and other optoelectronic applications.

BACKGROUND: Few studies have compared the outcomes of bridging intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) before mechanical thrombectomy (MT) with those of direct MT in patients with acute basilar artery occlusion (BAO). This study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of direct endovascular treatment (EVT) and bridging IVT followed by EVT in Chinese patients with acute basilar artery occlusion BAO. METHODS: This subanalysis derived from the prospective multicenter randomized controlled trial of the ATTENTION study, included 221 patients with acute BAO categorized into two groups based on whether they received bridging IVT before MT: MT alone or combined IVT+MT. The primary endpoint was the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score distribution at 90 days. Secondary outcomes included mRS scores within different ranges (0-1, 0-2, and 0-3) at the 90-day point and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores at 24 hours and 3 days post-intervention. Safety outcomes encompassed intracranial hemorrhage incidence based on the Heidelberg classification criteria (any intracerebral hemorrhage) and mortality assessment at 90 days. RESULTS: Direct and bridging IVT before EVT yielded similar primary outcomes. No significant difference in 90-day mRS scores (median, 4.5 vs 4; adjusted odds ratio (aOR), 0.95 [95% confidence interval (CI), 0.79 to 1.15]; p=0.624) was observed between the two groups. Regarding safety outcomes, no significant differences were observed between the groups in terms of death within 90 days or any intracranial hemorrhage within 24 hours. CONCLUSIONS: In patients with acute BAO, those treated with bridging IVT before EVT did not demonstrate any advantages in enhanced safety and efficacy outcomes compared with those treated with direct EVT.

We investigate the structures of 24-crown-8/H+/l-tryptophan (CR/TrpH+) and 24-crown-8/H+/l-serine (CR/SerH+) noncovalent host-guest complex both in the gas phase and in an aqueous solution by quantum chemical methods. The Gibbs free energies of the complex in the two phases are calculated to determine the thermodynamically most favorable conformer in each phase. Our predictions indicate that both the carboxyl and the ammonium in CR/TrpH+ and the ammonium in the CR/SerH+ complexes in the lowest Gibbs free energy configurations form hydrogen bonds (H-bonds) with the CR host in the gas phase, while the conformer with the "naked" (devoid of H-bond with the CR host) -CO2H (and/or -OH) is much less favorable (Gibbs free energy higher by >3.6 kcal/mol). In the solution phase, however, a "thermodynamic reversal" occurs, making the higher Gibbs free energy gas-phase CR/TrpH+ and CR/SerH+ conformers thermodynamically more favorable under the influence of solvent molecules. Consequently, the global minimum Gibbs free energy structure in solution is structurally correlated with the thermodynamically much less gas-phase conformer. Discussions are provided concerning the possibility of elucidating host-guest-solvent interactions in solution from the gas-phase host-guest configurations in molecular detail.

The threat of neonicotinoids to insect pollinators, particularly honeybees (Apis mellifera), is a global concern, but the risk of chiral neonicotinoids to insect larvae remains poorly understood. In the current study, we evaluated the acute and chronic toxicity of dinotefuran enantiomers to honeybee larvae in vitro and explored the mechanism of toxicity. The results showed that the acute median lethal dose (LD50) of S-dinotefuran to honeybee larvae was 30.0 µg/larva after oral exposure for 72 h, which was more toxic than rac-dinotefuran (92.7 µg/larva) and R-dinotefuran (183.6 µg/larva). Although the acute toxicity of the three forms of dinotefuran to larvae was lower than that to adults, chronic exposure significantly reduced larval survival, larval weight, and weight of newly emerged adults. Analysis of gene expression and hormone titer indicated that dinotefuran affects larval growth and development by interfering with nutrient digestion and absorption and the molting system. Analysis of hemolymph metabolome further revealed that disturbances in the neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction pathway and energy metabolism are the key mechanisms of dinotefuran toxicity to bee larvae. In addition, melatonin and vitellogenin are used by larvae to cope with dinotefuran-induced oxidative stress. Our results contribute to a comprehensive understanding of dinotefuran damage to bees and provide new insights into the mechanism of enantioselective toxicity of insecticides to insect larvae.

BACKGROUND: Few studies have been designed to predict the survival of Chinese patients initially diagnosed with metastatic gastric cancer (mGC). Therefore, the objective of this study was to construct and validate a new nomogram model to predict cancer-specific survival (CSS) in Chinese patients. METHODS: We collected 328 patients with mGC from Northern Jiangsu People's Hospital as the training cohort and 60 patients from Xinyuan County People's Hospital as the external validation cohort. Multivariate Cox regression was used to identify risk factors, and a nomogram was created to predict CSS. The predictive performance of the nomogram was evaluated using the consistency index (C-index), the calibration curve, and the decision curve analysis (DCA) in the training cohort and the validation cohort. RESULTS: Multivariate Cox regression identified differentiation grade (P < 0.001), T-stage (P < 0.05), N-stage (P < 0.001), surgery (P < 0.05), and chemotherapy (P < 0.001) as independent predictors of CSS. Nomogram of chemotherapy regimens and cycles was also designed by us for the prediction of mGC. Thus, these factors are integrated into the nomogram model: the C-index value was 0.72 (95% CI 0.70-0.85) for the nomogram model and 0.82 (95% CI 0.79-0.89) and 0.73 (95% CI 0.70-0.86) for the internal and external validation cohorts, respectively. Calibration curves and DCA also demonstrated adequate fit and ideal net benefit in prediction and clinical applications. CONCLUSIONS: We established a practical nomogram to predict CSS in Chinese patients initially diagnosed with mGC. Nomograms can be used to individualize survival predictions and guide clinicians in making therapeutic decisions.

Anode-free lithium metal batteries (AFLBs) have attracted considerable attention due to their high theoretical specific capacity and absence of Li. However, the heterogeneous Li deposition and stripping on the lithiophobic Cu collector hamper AFLBs in practice. To achieve a uniform and reversible Li deposition, a carbon-based layer on the Cu collector has attracted intense interest due to its high conductivity. However, the 2D single-component carbon-based interface is inadequate lithiophilic for obtaining the homogeneous Li deposition and preventing the lithium dendrite from piercing the separator. Herein, we present a 3D embedded lithiophilic SiO2 nanoparticles-graphene nanosheet matrix (SiO2@G-M) on the Cu collector by organic nano carbon source. In this structure, the lithiophilic SiO2 nanoparticles as active points promote the homogeneous lithium nucleation and the 3D graphene nanosheet matrix offers homogenous electron distribution and voids to prevent the piercing. Finally, SiO2@G-M/Li cell shows a high coulombic efficiency of 98.62 % after 100 cycles at a high current density of 2 mA cm-2 with an areal capacity of 1 mAh cm-2.

Introduction: Ever since the use of bisphenol A (BPA) has been restricted, concerns have been raised regarding the use of its substitutes, such as bisphenol S (BPS) and bisphenol F (BPF). Meanwhile, the EU European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) issued the new tolerable daily intake (TDI) after the latest re-risk assessment for BPA, which enforced the need for cumulative risk assessment in the population. This study was conducted to identify BPA and its substitute's exposure characteristics of the general Taiwanese population and estimate the cumulative risk of bisphenol exposure. Methods: Urine samples (N = 366 [adult, 271; minor, 95]) were collected from individuals who participated in the Taiwan Environmental Survey for Toxicants 2013. The samples were analyzed for BPA, BPS, and BPF through ultraperformance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Daily intake (DI) levels were calculated for each bisphenol. Hazard quotients (HQs) were calculated with the consideration of tolerable DI and a reference dose. Additionally, hazard index (HI; sum of HQs for each bisphenol) values were calculated. Results: Our study found that the median level of BPA was significantly higher in adults (9.63 µg/g creatinine) than in minors (6.63 µg/g creatinine) (p < 0.001). The DI of BPS was higher in female (0.69 ng/kg/day) than in male (0.49 ng/kg/day); however, the DIs of BPF and BPS were higher in boys (1.15 and 0.26 ng/kg/day, respectively) than in girls (0.57 and 0.20 ng/kg/day, respectively). Most HI values exceeded 1 (99% of the participants) after EFSA re-establish the TDI of BPA. Discussion: Our study revealed that the exposure profiles and risk of BPA and its substitute in Taiwanese varied by age and sex. Additionally, the exposure risk of BPA was deemed unacceptable in Taiwan according to new EFSA regulations, and food contamination could be the possible source of exposure. We suggest that the risk of exposure to BPA and its substitutes in most human biomonitoring studies should be reassessed based on new scientific evidence.

Estrogen is an important hormone that plays a role in regulating follicle development and oocyte maturation. Transzonal projections (TZPs) act as communication bridges between follicle somatic cells and oocytes, and their dynamic changes are critical for oocyte development and maturation. However, the roles and mechanisms of estrogen in regulating TZPs during follicular development are not yet understood. We found that the proportion of oocytes spontaneously resuming meiosis increases as the follicle grows, which is accompanied by rising estrogen levels in follicles and decreasing TZPs in cumulus-oocyte complex. To further explore the effect of elevated estrogen levels on TZP assembly, additional estrogen was added to the culture system. The increased estrogen level significantly decreased the mRNA and protein expression levels of TZP assembly-related genes. Subsequent research revealed that TZP regulation by estrogen was mediated by the membrane receptor GPER and downstream ERK1/2 signaling pathway. In summary, our study suggests that estrogen may regulate goat oocyte meiosis arrest by decreasing TZP numbers via estrogen-mediated GPER activation during follicle development.

Aging is an irreversible process of natural degradation of bodily function. The increase in the aging population, as well as the rise in the incidence of aging-related diseases, poses one of the most pressing global challenges. Hemp seed oil, extracted from the seeds of hemp (Cannabis sativa L.), possesses significant nutritional and biological properties attributed to its unique composition of polyunsaturated fatty acids and various antioxidant compounds. However, there is limited knowledge regarding the anti-aging mechanism of hemp seed oil. This study aimed to evaluate the beneficial effects and potential mechanisms of hemp seed oil in a D-galactose (D-gal)-induced aging rat model through a combined analysis of metabolomics and 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)-based metabolomics, significant alterations in serum and urine metabolic phenotypes were observed between the D-gal-induced aging rat model and the healthy control group. Eight and thirteen differentially expressed metabolites related to aging were identified in serum and urine, respectively. Treatment with hemp seed oil significantly restored four and ten potential biomarkers in serum and urine, respectively. The proposed pathways primarily included energy metabolism, amino acid metabolism, one-carbon metabolism, and lipid metabolism. Furthermore, 16S rRNA gene sequencing analysis revealed significant changes in the gut microbiota of aged rats. Compared to the model group, the hemp seed oil group exhibited significant alterations in the abundance of 21 bacterial taxa at the genus level. The results indicated that hemp seed oil suppressed the prevalence of pathogenic bacterial genera such as Streptococcus, Rothia, and Parabacteroides. Additionally, it facilitated the proliferation of the genera Lachnospirace_NK4B4_group and Lachnospirace_UCG_001, while also enhancing the relative abundance of the genus Butyricoccus; a producer of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). These findings provided new insights into the pathogenesis of aging and further supported the potential utility of hemp seed oil as an anti-aging therapeutic agent.

Electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) is a green and highly efficient way to replace the industrial Haber-Bosch process. Herein, clusters consisting of three transition metal atoms loaded on C2N as NRR electrocatalysts are investigated using density functional theory (DFT). Meanwhile, Ca was introduced as a promoter and the role of Ca in NRR was investigated. It was found that Ca anchored to the catalyst can act as an electron donor and effectively promote the activation of N2 on M3. In both M3@C2N and M3Ca@C2N (M=Fe, Co, Ni), the limiting potential (UL) is less negative than that of the Ru(0001) surface and has the ability to suppress the competitive hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Among them, Fe3@C2N is suggested to be the most promising candidate for NRR with high thermal stability, strong N2 adsorption ability, low limiting potential, and good NRR selectivity. The concepts of trimetallic sites and alkaline earth metal promoters in this work provide theoretical guidance for the rational design of atomically active sites in electrocatalytic NRR.

Fenazaquin, a potent insecticide widely used to control phytophagous mites, has recently emerged as a potential solution for managing Varroa destructor mites in honeybees. However, the comprehensive impact of fenazaquin on honeybee health remains insufficiently understood. Our current study investigated the acute and chronic toxicity of fenazaquin to honeybee larvae, along with its influence on larval hemolymph metabolism and gut microbiota. Results showed that the acute median lethal dose (LD50) of fenazaquin for honeybee larvae was 1.786 µg/larva, and the chronic LD50 was 1.213 µg/larva. Although chronic exposure to low doses of fenazaquin exhibited no significant effect on larval development, increasing doses of fenazaquin resulted in significant increases in larval mortality, developmental time, and deformity rates. At the metabolic level, high doses of fenazaquin inhibited nucleotide, purine, and lipid metabolism pathways in the larval hemolymph, leading to energy metabolism disorders and physiological dysfunction. Furthermore, high doses of fenazaquin reduced gut microbial diversity and abundance, characterized by decreased relative abundance of functional gut bacterium Lactobacillus kunkeei and increased pathogenic bacterium Melissococcus plutonius. The disrupted gut microbiota, combined with the observed gut tissue damage, could potentially impair food digestion and nutrient absorption in the larvae. Our results provide valuable insights into the complex and diverse effects of fenazaquin on honeybee larvae, establishing an important theoretical basis for applying fenazaquin in beekeeping.

OBJECTIVE: Recombinant monoclonal therapeutic antibodies like lecanemab, which target amyloid beta in Alzheimer's disease, offer a promising approach for modifying the disease progression. Due to its relatively short half-life, Lecanemab, administered as a bi-monthly infusion (typically 10mg/kg) has a relatively brief half-life. Interaction with abundant plasma proteins binder in the bloodstream can affect pharmacokinetics of drugs, including their half-life. In this study we investigated potential plasma protein binding interaction to lecanemab using lecanemab biosimilar. METHODS: Lecanemab biosimilar used in this study was based on publicly available sequences. ELISA and Western blotting were used to assess lecanemab biosimilar immunoreactivity in the fractions human plasma sample obtained through size exclusion chromatography. The binding of lecanemab biosimilar to candidate binders was confirmed by Western blotting, ELISA, and surface plasmon resonance analysis. RESULTS: Using a combination of equilibrium dialysis, ELISA, and Western blotting in human plasma, we first describe the presence of likely plasma protein binding partner to lecanemab biosimilar, and then identify fibrinogen as one of them. Utilizing surface plasmon resonance, we confirmed that lecanemab biosimilar does bind to fibrinogen, although with lower affinity than to monomeric amyloid beta. CONCLUSION: In the context of lecanemab therapy, these results imply that fibrinogen levels could impact the levels of free antibodies in the bloodstream and that fibrinogen might serve as a reservoir for lecanemab. More broadly, these results indicate that plasma protein binding may be an important consideration when clinically utilizing therapeutic antibodies in neurodegenerative disease.

Exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) is a significant concern for respiratory health. However, the sources, trigger points, and effect size of specific associations between PM2.5 components, particularly polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and the airway inflammatory marker fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) have not been fully explored. In this study, 69 healthy college students were enrolled and followed up 16 times from 2014 to 2018. Individual FeNO was measured and ambient air PM2.5 samples were collected for 7 consecutive days before each follow-up. PAHs were quantified using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. Linear mixed-effect regression models were employed to evaluate the associations between PM2.5-bound PAHs and FeNO. Additionally, PMF (Positive Matrix Factorization) was utilized to identify sources of PM2.5-bound PAHs and assess their impact on FeNO. Throughout the study, the average (SD) of ΣPAHs concentrations was 78.50 (128.9) ng/m3. PM2.5 and PM2.5-bound PAHs were significantly associated with FeNO at various lag days. Single-day lag analyses revealed maximum effects of PM2.5 on FeNO, with an increase of 7.71% (95% CI: 4.67%, 10.83%) per interquartile range (IQR) (48.10 µg/m3) increase of PM2.5 at lag2, and ΣPAHs showed a maximum elevation in FeNO of 6.40% (95% CI: 2.33%, 10.63%) at lag4 per IQR (57.39 ng/m3) increase. Individual PAHs exhibited diversity peak effects on FeNO at lag3 (6 of 17), lag4 (9 of 17) in the single-day model, and lag0-5 (8 of 17) (from lag0-1 to lag0-6) in the cumulative model. Source apportionment indicated coal combustion as the primary contributor (accounting for 30.7%). However, a maximum effect on FeNO (an increase of 21.57% (95% CI: 13.58%, 30.13%) per IQR increase) was observed with traffic emissions at lag4. The findings imply that strategic regulation of particular sources of PAHs, like traffic emissions, during specific periods could significantly contribute to safeguarding public health.

In line with the "healthy aging" principle, we aim to assess the exposure map and health risks of environmental chemicals in the elderly. Blood samples from 918 elderly individuals in Wuhan, China, were analyzed using the combined gas/liquid-mass spectrometry technology to detect levels of 118 environmental chemicals. Cluster analysis identified exposure profiles, while risk indexes and bioanalytical equivalence percentages were calculated using EPA's ToxCast database. The detection rates for 87 compounds exceeded 70%. DEHP, DiBP, naphthalene, phenanthrene, DnBP, pyrene, anthracene, permethrin, fluoranthene, and PFOS showed the highest concentrations. Fat-soluble pollutants varied across lifestyles. In cluster 2, which was characterized by higher concentrations of fat-soluble substances, the proportion of smokers or drinkers was higher than that of nonsmokers or nondrinkers. Pesticides emerged as the most active environmental chemicals in peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma antagonist, thyroid hormone receptor (TR) antagonist, TR agonist, and androgen receptor (AR) agonist activity assays. Additionally, PAEs and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons played significant roles as active contaminants for the corresponding targets of AR antagonists and estrogen receptor alpha. We proposed a list of priority pollutants linked to endocrine-disrupting toxic effects in the elderly, which may provide the groundwork for further research into environmental etiology.

The application of disposable tableware has increased substantially in recent times due to the rapidly growing food delivery business in China. Synthetic phenolic antioxidants (SPAs) are widely used in food contact materials (FCMs) to delay the process of oxidation; however, their compositions, concentrations, and potential health hazards remain unclear. Therefore, FCMs comprised of five materials obtained from 19 categories (n = 118) in China were analyzed for SPAs concentrations. FCMs have been found to contain a variety of SPAs, with ∑SPAs concentrations ranging from 44.18 to 69,485.12 µg/kg (median: 2615.63 µg/kg). The predominant congeners identified in the sample include 2,4-di-tert-butylphenol (2,4-DTBP), 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol (2,6-DTBP), and 2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-benzoquinone (BHT-Q) with a median concentration of 885.75, 555.45 and of 217.44 µg/kg, respectively. Milky tea paper cups, instant noodle buckets, milky teacups, and disposable cups showed high levels of SPAs. 2,2'-methylenebis(4-methyl-6-tert-butylphenol) (AO 2246) was predominantly detected in polyethylene and polyethylene terephthalate-based products. The migration test identified disposable plastic cups and bowls as the predominant FCMs and 2,4-DTBP as the dominant SPA. The exposure risk of SPAs decreased with age. In children, the estimated daily intake of ∑SPAs from FCMs was determined to be 17.56 ng/kg body weight/day, which was 8.3 times higher than that of phthalic acid esters. The current findings indicate the potential ingestion risk of SPAs during the daily life application of multiple FCM categories.

Gesture recognition has emerged as a significant research domain in computer vision and human-computer interaction. One of the key challenges in gesture recognition is how to select the most useful channels that can effectively represent gesture movements. In this study, we have developed a channel selection algorithm that determines the number and placement of sensors that are critical to gesture classification. To validate this algorithm, we constructed a Force Myography (FMG)-based signal acquisition system. The algorithm considers each sensor as a distinct channel, with the most effective channel combinations and recognition accuracy determined through assessing the correlation between each channel and the target gesture, as well as the redundant correlation between different channels. The database was created by collecting experimental data from 10 healthy individuals who wore 16 sensors to perform 13 unique hand gestures. The results indicate that the average number of channels across the 10 participants was 3, corresponding to an 75% decrease in the initial channel count, with an average recognition accuracy of 94.46%. This outperforms four widely adopted feature selection algorithms, including Relief-F, mRMR, CFS, and ILFS. Moreover, we have established a universal model for the position of gesture measurement points and verified it with an additional five participants, resulting in an average recognition accuracy of 96.3%. This study provides a sound basis for identifying the optimal and minimum number and location of channels on the forearm and designing specialized arm rings with unique shapes.
