Previous studies have highlighted the toxicity of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in plants, yet understanding their spatial distribution within plant tissues and specific toxic effects remains limited. This study investigates the spatial-specific toxic effects of carbamazepine (CBZ), a prevalent PPCP, in plants. Utilizing desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry imaging (DESI-MSI), CBZ and its transformation products were observed predominantly at the leaf edges, with 2.3-fold higher concentrations than inner regions, which was confirmed by LC-MS. Transcriptomic and metabolic analyses revealed significant differences in gene expression and metabolite levels between the inner and outer leaf regions, emphasizing the spatial location's role in CBZ response. Notably, photosynthesis-related genes were markedly downregulated, and photosynthetic efficiency was reduced at leaf edges. Additionally, elevated oxidative stress at leaf edges was indicated by higher antioxidant enzyme activity, cell membrane impairment, and increased free fatty acids. Given the increased oxidative stress at the leaf margins, the study suggests using in situ Raman spectroscopy for early detection of CBZ-induced damage by monitoring reactive oxygen species levels. These findings provide crucial insights into the spatial toxicological mechanisms of CBZ in plants, forming a basis for future spatial toxicology research of PPCPs.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the association of maternal first-trimester vitamin D levels and vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy with infant atopic dermatitis (AD) and to determine the effect of variables such as mode of conception on the association. METHODS: This study was based on the Shanghai sub-cohort of the International Birth Cohort of China. A total of 4051 woman-infant pairs with singleton pregnancies were recruited. Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency were defined as serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentrations of 25 and 50 nmol/L, respectively. AD in infants was assessed during the first six months using a standardized questionnaire based on the British Working Party criteria. Modified Poisson regression estimated the association between maternal vitamin D status and infant AD. RESULTS: The risk of AD in infants was higher in women with deficient 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels in the first trimester (RR: 1.77, 95% CI: 1.41-2.23). This increased risk was seen in naturally conceived pregnancies, but not in those conceived using assisted reproductive technology (ART). The incidence of AD decreased in infants of mothers who took multi-vitamin (RR: 0.79, 95% CI: 0.67-1.98) and vitamin D supplements (RR: 0.51, 95% CI: 0.37-0.71) compared to those whose mothers did not take any supplements. Maternal vitamin D deficiency had varying effects on AD risk based on passive smoking exposure and breastfeeding patterns. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings highlight the importance of monitoring and supplementing vitamin D during pregnancy, especially in specific maternal populations, to reduce the risk of AD in offspring.

Background: Ras association domain family member 1 (RASSF1) encodes the RASSF1A protein, serving as a scaffold protein situated at the intersection of a complex signalling network. Aims: To evaluate the immunological and prognostic significance of RASSF1 expression in various types of human cancers, with a specific focus on lung cancer. Methods: Differential expression analysis of RASSF1 was conducted based on data from The Cancer Genome Atlas, Genotype-Tissue Expression, and Cancer Cell Line Encyclopaedia databases. Prognostic analysis was performed using the Cox regression test and Kaplan-Meier test. Spearman's test was utilized for correlation analysis. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopaedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) gene sets were employed to enrich the associated signaling pathways. Immunohistochemical staining and quantitative real-time PCR were employed to detect protein and mRNA expression levels, respectively. Results: RASSF1 expression was significantly lower in tumour tissues than in normal tissues in most cancers, and Cox regression analysis demonstrated a significant correlation between RASSF1 expression and the prognosis of over 12 types of cancer. Specifically, high RASSF1 expression was associated with poor OS in nine cancer types, including GBMLGG (HR = 4.98, P = 1.2e-31), LGG (HR = 3.72, P = 2.5e-10), and LAML (HR = 1.48, P = 2.4e-3). Further analysis showed that RASSF1 expression was significantly correlated with immune checkpoint- and immune-related genes. Moreover, RASSF1 expression is involved in tumour microenvironment (TME), RNA modification, genomic heterogeneity, and tumour stemness. GO and KEGG analyses showed that RASSF1 was closely related to tumour immune-related pathways. Finally, RASSF1A was moderately correlated with PD-L1 (R = 0.556), and RASSF1A overexpression significantly affected the expression of several genes involved in the Th17 cell differentiation signalling pathway in lung cancer. Conclusions: RASSF1 was differentially expressed in 29 human cancers and played a critical role in tumour immunity. Thus, RASSF1 has the potential to be used as a prognostic marker and reference for achieving more precise immunotherapy, particularly in lung cancer.

Overexposure of sewage workers to bioaerosol released from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) can cause serious infections, but practical method for controlling their health risk is lacking. In this study, reverse quantitative microbial risk assessment was used to estimate the daily critical exposure time (CET) of sewage workers exposing to Staphylococcus aureus bioaerosol emitted by three emission sources facilities in a WWTP based on either U.S. EPA or WHO benchmark, and sensitivity analysis was conducted to analyze the influence of various parameters on the outcomes of CET. The results showed that the CET of females was always 1.12-1.29 times that of males. In addition, the CET after wearing face masks was 28.28-52.37 times as long as before. The working time can be determined based on the CET results of male workers wearing face masks exposed to the inverted-umbrella aeration tank (14.73-550.98 min for U.S. EPA benchmark and 55.07-1972.24 min for WHO benchmark). In each scenario, the variable parameter exposure concentration (ec) always showed the most influence on the CET results. After wearing the face masks, the removal fraction by employing face masks also had a significant effect on the results, only second to ec. Therefore, the wearing of face mask is the most convenient and effective measure to prolong the CET. Furthermore, practical methods to reducing bioaerosol concentration in WWTPs exposure are also necessary to extend CET and safeguard worker health. This study enriches the application range of reverse quantitative microbial risk assessment framework and provides theoretical support for stakeholders to establish reasonable working time threshold guidelines, and practical method and novel perspective to protect the on-site health risks of sewage workers exposing to various facilities.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the expressions of zinc homeostasis-related proteins, G protein-coupled receptor 39 (GPR39) and ANO1 mRNA in the sperm of patients with asthenozoospermia (AS), and analyze their correlation with sperm motility. METHODS: We collected semen samples from 82 male subjects with PR+NP < 40%, PR < 32% and sperm concentration > 15×106/ml (the AS group, n = 40) or PR+NP ≥ 40%, PR ≥ 32% and sperm concentration > 15×106/ml (the normal control group, n = 42). We analyzed the routine semen parameters and measured the zinc content in the seminal plasma using the computer-assisted sperm analysis system, detected the expressions of zinc transporters (ZIP13, ZIP8 and ZNT10), metallothioneins (MT1G, MT1 and MTF), GPR39, and calcium-dependent chloride channel protein (ANO1) in the sperm by real-time quantitative PCR (RT qPCR), examined free zinc distribution in the sperm by laser confocal microscopy, and determined the expressions of GPR39 and MT1 proteins in the sperm by immunofluorescence staining, followed by Spearman rank correlation analysis of their correlation with semen parameters. RESULTS: There was no statistically significant difference in the zinc concentration in the seminal plasma between the AS and normal control groups (P>0.05). Compared with the controls, the AS patients showed a significantly reduced free zinc level (P<0.05), relative expressions of MT1G, MTF, ZIP13, GPR39 and ANO1 mRNA (P<0.05), and that of the GPR39 protein in the AS group (P<0.05). No statistically significant differences were observed in the relative expression levels of ZIP8, ZNT10 and MT1 mRNA between the two groups (P>0.05). The relative expression levels of GPR39, ANO1, MT1G and MTF mRNA were positively correlated with sperm motility and the percentage of progressively motile sperm (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: The expressions of zinc homeostasis proteins (MT1G, MTF and ZIP13), GPR39 and ANO1 mRNA are downregulated in the sperm of asthenozoospermia patients, and positively correlated with sperm motility.

PURPOSE: This study aims to understand the role of cirrhosis in promoting hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression by analyzing the differential expression of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) between cirrhotic hepatocellular carcinoma (CHCC) and noncirrhotic hepatocellular carcinoma (NCHCC). METHODS: A transcriptional profile array was used to identify differentially expressed lncRNAs. Subsequently, a specific lncRNA was selected to evaluate the clinical significance, potential functions, regulatory targets, and pathways through both in vitro and in vivo experiments. RESULTS: The study identified a lncRNA, which we termed DERCNC, an acronym for Differentially Expressed RNA between Cirrhotic and Non-Cirrhotic HCC. DERCNC was significantly more highly expressed in CHCC than in NCHCC. Clinically, elevated levels of DERCNC expression were positively correlated with both the cirrhotic state and tumor stage and inversely correlated with tumor differentiation. Furthermore, high expression of DERCNC was associated with a poor prognosis for patients. Conditioned medium from the hepatic stellate cell (LX2) was found to enhance DERCNC expression, SOX9 expression, and tumor proliferation. Overexpression of DERCNC similarly promoted tumor proliferation and increased SOX9 levels. Conversely, DERCNC silencing resulted in the opposite effects. Moreover, the pro-proliferative function of DERCNC was reversible through the modulation of SOX9 expression. Further mechanistic studies revealed that DERCNC upregulated SOX9 by increasing the enrichment of H3K27ac modifications near the SOX9 promoter. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, DERCNC expression in CHCC has significant clinical implications and can aggravate tumor proliferation by targeting SOX9. This represents a novel mechanism by which cirrhosis promotes tumor progression.

The evolution of animals and their gut symbionts is a complex phenomenon, obscured by lability and diversity. In social organisms, transmission of symbionts among relatives may yield systems with more stable associations. Here, we study the history of a social insect symbiosis involving cephalotine ants and their extracellular gut bacteria, which come predominantly from host-specialized lineages. We perform multi-locus phylogenetics for symbionts from nine bacterial orders, and map prior amplicon sequence data to lineage-assigned symbiont genomes, studying distributions of rigorously defined symbionts across 20 host species. Based on monophyly and additional hypothesis testing, we estimate that these specialized gut bacteria belong to 18 distinct lineages, of which 15 have been successfully isolated and cultured. Several symbiont lineages showed evidence for domestication events that occurred later in cephalotine evolutionary history, and only one lineage was ubiquitously detected in all 20 host species and 48 colonies sampled with amplicon 16S rRNA sequencing. We found evidence for phylogenetically constrained distributions in four symbionts, suggesting historical or genetic impacts on community composition. Two lineages showed evidence for frequent intra-lineage co-infections, highlighting the potential for niche divergence after initial domestication. Nearly all symbionts showed evidence for occasional host switching, but four may, more often, co-diversify with their hosts. Through our further assessment of symbiont localization and genomic functional profiles, we demonstrate distinct niches for symbionts with shared evolutionary histories, prompting further questions on the forces underlying the evolution of hosts and their gut microbiomes.

People possessing musical knowledge tend to enjoy music more, but the linkage remains to be determined. Based on the shared affective motion experience model for music appreciation, we hypothesized that acquiring musical knowledge about the music itself, for example, an analytical understanding of music elements and the related emotional expressions, would increase music liking. To test the hypothesis, we asked 48 participants to learn analytical or historical information about a piece of music by watching a pre-recorded teaching video. Learners' physiological responses, such as skin conductance and heart rate, were recorded during learning. The increase of music liking was observed after both types of knowledge acquisition, but more so for analytical knowledge. Notably, acquiring analytical knowledge made learners' skin conductance more similar, indicating the alignment of physiological responses. This physiological similarity, correlated with analytical knowledge similarity, could mediate the effect of knowledge acquisition on music liking. In sum, this study reveals the impact of analytical knowledge on music enjoyment and the associated neurophysiological mechanism. It extends the theoretical framework of shared affective motion experience to explain how musical knowledge influences music appreciation.

Antibiotic pollution in water environment is an emerging threat to plant health. Developing efficient strategies to reassemble the antibiotic-tolerating endophytes will confer fitness benefits on host plants to alleviate antibiotic stress. Here, introducing environmental microbes was proved as a promising approach to reshape the antibiotic-tolerating plant endophytes under antibiotic stress in aquatic microcosms. The introduction of environmental microbes effectively relieved antibiotic-driven perturbation on plant endophytes, with reduced changes in bacterial diversity and differential bacterial taxa and functional genes. Moreover, introducing environmental microbes facilitated the enrichment of endophytic bacterial genera and functional genes related to drug metabolism, which possessed the potentials to degrade antibiotics. In addition, environmental microbes boosted antibiotic-reshaped endophytes to form more stable bacterial networks for stronger antibiotic tolerance. In consequence, the decreased growth inhibition of antibiotics on host plants and enhanced antibiotic removal from microcosms were achieved by introducing environmental microbes. These findings pursue environmental microbes as practical resources to assist plants in reshaping the stress-alleviating endophytes, potentially improving plant tolerance to water pollution.

Humans are exposed to an ever-increasing number of environmental toxicants, some of which have gradually been identified as major risk factors for male reproductive health, even associated with male infertility. Male infertility is usually due to the reproductive system damage, which may be influenced by the exposure to contaminants such as heavy metals, plasticizers, along with genetics and lifestyle. Testicular immune microenvironment (TIM) is important in maintaining normal physiological functions of the testis, whether disturbed TIM after exposure to environmental toxicants could induce reproductive toxicity remains to be explored. Therefore, the current review aims to contribute to the further understanding of exposure and male infertility by characterizing environmental exposures and the effect on TIM. We first summarized the male reproductive toxicity phenotypes induced by common environmental pollutants. Contaminants including heavy metals and plastic additives and fine particulate matter (PM2.5), have been repetitively associated with male infertility, whereas emerging contaminants such as perfluoroalkyl substances and micro(nano)plastics have also been found to disrupt TIM and lead to male reproductive toxicity. We further reviewed the importance of TIM and its homeostasis in maintaining the normal physiological functions of the testis. Most importantly, we discussed the advances in immunology of male reproductive toxicity induced by metals and metalloids, plastic additives, persistent organic pollutants (POPs), micro(nano)plastic and PM2.5 to suggest the importance of reproductive immunotoxicology in the future study of environmental toxicants, but also contribute to the development of effective prevention and treatment strategies for mitigating adverse effects of environmental pollutants on human health.

In the era of personalized cancer treatment, understanding the complexities of tumor biology and immune modulation is paramount. This comprehensive analysis delves into the multifaceted role of Zinc Finger Protein 207 (ZNF207) in pan-cancer, shedding light on its involvement in tumorigenesis, immune evasion, and therapeutic implications. Through integrated genomic and clinical data analysis, we reveal consistent upregulation of ZNF207 across diverse cancer types, highlighting its potential as a prognostic marker and therapeutic target, particularly for liver cancers. Notably, ZNF207 demonstrates intricate associations with clinical-pathological features, immune subtypes, and molecular pathways, indicating its pervasive influence in cancer biology. Furthermore, our study uncovers ZNF207's involvement in immune escape mechanisms, suggesting its potential as a modulator of immune responses within the tumor microenvironment. These findings underscore the significance of ZNF207 in shaping cancer progression and immune landscape, presenting promising avenues for targeted therapy and immunomodulation. Recognizing ZNF207's multifaceted contributions to cancer progression and immune evasion suggests its central role in understanding tumor immunology, beyond mere therapeutic targeting. Nevertheless, further mechanistic studies are imperative to elucidate ZNF207's precise molecular mechanisms and therapeutic implications in cancer treatment. This study primarily utilized various bioinformatics tools such as TIMER 2.0, cProSite, UALCAN, SangerBox, GEPIA2, TISIDB and TIDE to analyze the expression of ZNF207 in multiple cancer samples from the TCGA database.

Sepsis arises from an uncontrolled inflammatory response triggered by infection or stress, accompanied by alteration in cellular energy metabolism, and a strong correlation exists between these factors. Alpha-ketoglutarate (α-KG), an intermediate product of the TCA cycle, has the potential to modulate the inflammatory response and is considered a crucial link between energy metabolism and inflammation. The scavenger receptor (SR-A5), a significant pattern recognition receptor, assumes a vital function in anti-inflammatory reactions. In the current investigation, we have successfully illustrated the ability of α-KG to mitigate inflammatory factors in the serum of septic mice and ameliorate tissue damage. Additionally, α-KG has been shown to modulate metabolic reprogramming and macrophage polarization. Moreover, our findings indicate that the regulatory influence of α-KG on sepsis is mediated through SR-A5. We also elucidated the mechanism by which α-KG regulates SR-A5 expression and found that α-KG reduced the N6-methyladenosine level of macrophages by up-regulating the m6A demethylase ALKBH5. α-KG plays a crucial role in inhibiting inflammation by regulating SR-A5 expression through m6A demethylation during sepsis. The outcomes of this research provide valuable insights into the relationship between energy metabolism and inflammation regulation, as well as the underlying molecular regulatory mechanism.

The effects and underlying mechanisms of metformin which can improve glucose homeostasis of fish have rarely been explored. This experiment aimed to explore the influence of metformin on growth performance, body composition, liver health, hepatic glucolipid metabolic capacity and IR/PI3K/AKT pathway in grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) fed high-carbohydrate diets. A normal diet (Control) and high carbohydrate diets with metformin supplementation (0.00 %, 0.20 %, 0.40 %, 0.60 % and 0.80 %) were configured. Six groups of healthy fish were fed with the experimental diet for eight weeks. The results showed that the growth performance of grass carp was impaired in high carbohydrate diet. Impairment of IR/PI3K/AKT signalling pathway reduced insulin sensitivity, while hepatic oxidative stress damage and decreased immunity affected liver metabolic function. The glycolysis and lipolysis decrease while the gluconeogenesis and fat synthesis increase, which triggers hyperglycaemia and lipid deposition in the body. Metformin supplementation restored the growth performance of grass carp. Metformin improved IR/PI3K/AKT pathway signalling and alleviated insulin resistance, while liver antioxidant capacity and immunity were enhanced resulting in the restoration of liver health. The elevation of glycolysis and lipolysis maintains glycaemic homeostasis and reduces lipid deposition, respectively. These results suggest that metformin supplementation restores liver health and activates the IR/PI3K/AKT signalling pathway, ameliorating insulin resistance and glucose-lipid metabolism disorders caused by a high-carbohydrate diet. As judged by HOMA-IR, the optimum supplementation level of metformin in grass carp (C. idella) fed a high-carbohydrate diet is 0.67 %.

To fulfill the requirements of environmental protection, a magnetically recoverable immobilized laccase has been developed for water pollutant treatment. In order to accomplish this objective, we propose a polydopamine-coated magnetic graphene material that addresses the challenges associated with accumulation caused by electrostatic interactions between graphene and enzyme molecules, which can lead to protein denaturation and inactivation. To achieve this, we present a polydopamine-coated magnetic graphene material that binds to the enzyme molecule through flexible spacer arms formed by ionic liquids. The immobilized laccase exhibited a good protective effect on laccase and showed a high stability and recycling ability. Laccase-ILs-PDA-MGO has a wider pH and temperature range and retains about 80% of its initial activity even after incubation at 50 °C for 2 h, which is 2.2 times more active than free laccase. Furthermore, the laccase-ILs-PDA-MGO exhibited a remarkable removal efficiency of 97.0% and 83.9% toward 2,4-DCP and BPA within 12 h at room temperature. More importantly, laccase-ILs-PDA-MGO can be recovered from the effluent and used multiple times for organic pollutant removal, while maintaining a relative removal efficiency of 80.6% for 2,4-DCP and 81.4% for BPA after undergoing seven cycles. In this study, a strategy for laccase immobilization by utilizing ILs spacer arms to modify GO aims to provide valuable insights into the advancement of efficient enzyme immobilization techniques and the practical application of immobilized enzymes in wastewater treatment.

Introduction: The development of advanced sewage technologies empowers the industry to produce high-quality recycled water, which greatly influences human's life and health. Thus, this study investigates the mechanism of individuals' adoption of recycled water from the technology adoption perspective. Methods: Employing the mixed method of structural equation modeling and artificial neural network analysis, we examined a research model developed from the extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) framework. To examine the research model, this study employs a leading web-survey company (Sojump) to collect 308 valid samples from the residents in mainland China. Results: The structural equation modeling results verified the associations between the six predictors (performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, environmental motivation, and price value), individuals' cognitive and emotional attitudes, and acceptance intention. The artificial neural network analysis validates and complements the structural equation modeling results by unveiling the importance rank of the significant determinants of the acceptance decisions. Discussion: The study provides theoretical implications for recycled water research and useful insights for practitioners and policymakers to reduce the environmental hazards of water scarcity.

Tibetan strawberry (Fragaria nubicola) is a wild medicinal and edible plant in Tibet possessing various health benefits such as neuroprotection and anti-oxidation. However, there has been little study reported on its chemical constituents. To investigate the inhibitors of monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B) in Tibetan strawberry, we immobilized the enzyme onto cellulose filter paper for the first time to develop a new screening method. Two known glycosides (compounds 1 and 2) and one new iridoid glucoside (Compound 3) were fished out by this method, which was found to effectively inhibit MAO-B with IC50 values of 16.95 ± 0.93, 24.69 ± 0.20, and 46.77 ± 0.78 µM, respectively. Molecular docking and kinetic analysis were performed to reveal the inhibition mechanism of these compounds. Furthermore, compound 1 exhibited neuroprotective effects against 6-OHDA-induced injury on PC12 cells. The developed method exhibits the advantages of rapidness and effectiveness in screening of MAO-B inhibitors from complex herbal extracts.

Understanding the liver stem cells (LSCs) holds great promise for new insights into liver diseases and liver regeneration. However, the heterogenicity and plasticity of liver cells have made it controversial. Here, by employing single-cell RNA-sequencing technology, transcriptome features of Krt19+ bile duct lineage cells isolated from Krt19CreERT; Rosa26R-GFP reporter mouse livers are examined. Distinct biliary epithelial cells which include adult LSCs, as well as their downstream hepatocytes and cholangiocytes are identified. Importantly, a novel cell surface LSCs marker, CD63, as well as CD56, which distinguished active and quiescent LSCs are discovered. Cell expansion and bi-potential differentiation in culture demonstrate the stemness ability of CD63+ cells in vitro. Transplantation and lineage tracing of CD63+ cells confirm their contribution to liver cell mass in vivo upon injury. Moreover, CD63+CD56+ cells are proved to be activated LSCs with vigorous proliferation ability. Further studies confirm that CD63+CD56- quiescent LSCs express VEGFR2 and FGFR1, and they can be activated to proliferation and differentiation through combination of growth factors: VEGF-A and bFGF. These findings define an authentic adult liver stem cells compartment, make a further understanding of fate regulation on LSCs, and highlight its contribution to liver during pathophysiologic processes.

Background: Non-specific Orbital Inflammation (NSOI) is a chronic idiopathic condition marked by extensive polymorphic lymphoid infiltration in the orbital area. The integration of metabolic and immune pathways suggests potential therapeutic roles for C-peptide and G protein-coupled receptor 146 (GPR146) in diabetes and its sequelae. However, the specific mechanisms through which GPR146 modulates immune responses remain poorly understood. Furthermore, the utility of GPR146 as a diagnostic or prognostic marker for NSOI has not been conclusively demonstrated. Methods: We adopted a comprehensive analytical strategy, merging differentially expressed genes (DEGs) from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) datasets GSE58331 and GSE105149 with immune-related genes from the ImmPort database. Our methodology combined LASSO regression and support vector machine-recursive feature elimination (SVM-RFE) for feature selection, followed by Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) and Gene Set Variation Analysis (GSVA) to explore gene sets co-expressed with GPR146, identifying a significant enrichment in immune-related pathways. The tumor microenvironment's immune composition was quantified using the CIBERSORT algorithm and the ESTIMATE method, which confirmed a positive correlation between GPR146 expression and immune cell infiltration. Validation of GPR146 expression was performed using the GSE58331 dataset. Results: Analysis identified 113 DEGs associated with GPR146, with a significant subset showing distinct expression patterns. Using LASSO and SVM-RFE, we pinpointed 15 key hub genes. Functionally, these genes and GPR146 were predominantly linked to receptor ligand activity, immune receptor activity, and cytokine-mediated signaling. Specific immune cells, such as memory B cells, M2 macrophages, resting mast cells, monocytes, activated NK cells, plasma cells, and CD8+ T cells, were positively associated with GPR146 expression. In contrast, M0 macrophages, naive B cells, M1 macrophages, activated mast cells, activated memory CD4+ T cells, naive CD4+ T cells, and gamma delta T cells showed inverse correlations. Notably, our findings underscore the potential diagnostic relevance of GPR146 in distinguishing NSOI. Conclusion: Our study elucidates the immunological signatures associated with GPR146 in the context of NSOI, highlighting its prognostic and diagnostic potential. These insights pave the way for GPR146 to be a novel biomarker for monitoring the progression of NSOI, providing a foundation for future therapeutic strategies targeting immune-metabolic pathways.
