RESUMO
A 36 year-old female with chronic kidney failure due to hypertension and who was being treated with hemodialysis for eight months, was admitted to the hospital on the suspicion of being pregnant. Gynecological examination and ultrasound scan confirmed the pregnancy. Gestation was diagnosed in the 29(th) week after the patient felt fetal movements. Intensification of the dialysis treatment was started immediately after the diagnosis was made.
RESUMO
Magnetic resonance imaging is the next in a succession of noninvasive methods for evaluation of the heart and great vessels after total correction in congenital heart disease and percutaneous interventional cardiology procedures. Between October 1994 to March 1995 we performed 28 magnetic resonance investigations in children after surgical treatment of coarctation of the aorta and after Senning, Rastelli and Fontan procedures. Five children after correction of coarctation of the aorta were qualified for balloon angioplasty. After hemodynamic evaluation and aortography, balloon angioplasty was done in 3 children. In children after Senning, Rastelli and Fontan procedures no postoperative abnormalities were detected. Magnetic resonance imaging is a usefull, noninvasive method in long-term follow-up of patients after total correction in congenial heart disease.

During the last 6 years 300 stylet and Tenckhoff catheters were inserted into the peritoneal cavity. In 5 cases an abdominal viscus has been perforated or injured. The complications were twice a perforation of bowel, twice a perforation of bladder and once an injury of aorta. The authors discussed the therapeutic procedure (conservative or operative) and the late consequences of those complications.

The clinical analysis has been performed in 53 cases of sepsis induced by Streptococcus viridans. Among children with diagnosis of sepsis majority of cases in group of older infant and children up to 2 year age was due to above infection. The S. viridans strain isolated form the blood were in 90% percentage resistant to cloxacillin , the resistance to penicillin, ampicillin and gentamicin was equal to 70%, 50% and 34% respectively. The main symptoms of the S. viridans sepsis was most frequently localized in lung. Laboratory findings most frequently revealed anemia and toxic granulation in neutrophils . Four children died due to the infection (mortality index to 7.5%).

A case is presented of acute non-inflammatory renal failure developing after transurethral prostatectomy connected with bladder irrigation with distilled water. This irrigation caused haemolysis which was the direct cause of renal failure.
