RESUMO

The carbonate chemistry in river-dominated marginal seas is highly heterogeneous, and there is ongoing debate regarding the definition of atmospheric CO2 source or sink. On this basis, we investigated the carbonate chemistry and air-sea CO2 fluxes in a hotspot estuarine area: the Changjiang Estuary during winter and summer. The spatial characteristics of the carbonate system were influenced by water mixing of three end-members in winter, including the Changjiang freshwater with low total alkalinity (TA) concentration, the less saline Yellow Sea Surface Water with high TA, and the saline East China Sea (ECS) offshore water with moderate TA. While in summer with increased river discharge, the carbonate system was regulated by simplified two end-member mixing between the Changjiang freshwater and the ECS offshore water. By performing the end-member mixing model on DIC variations in the river plume region, significant biological addition of DIC was found in winter with an estimation of -120 ± 113 µmol kg-1 caused by wintertime organic matter remineralization from terrestrial source. While this biological addition of DIC shifted to DIC removal due to biological production in summer supported by the increased nutrient loading from Changjiang River. The pCO2 dynamics in the river plume and the ECS offshore were both subjected to physical mixing of freshwater and seawater, whether in winter and summer. In the inner estuary without horizontal mixing, the pCO2 dynamics were mainly influenced by biological uptake in winter and temperature in summer. The inner estuary, the river plume, and the ECS offshore were sources of atmospheric CO2, with their contributions varying seasonally. The Changjiang runoff enhanced the inner estuary's role as a CO2 source in summer, while intensive biological uptake reduced the river plume's contribution.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The global prevalence of VCI has increased steadily in recent years, but diagnostic biomarkers for VCI in patients with non-disabling ischemic cerebrovascular incidents (NICE) remain indefinite. The primary objective of this research was to investigate the relationship between peripheral serological markers, white matter damage, and cognitive function in individuals with NICE. METHODS: We collected clinical data, demographic information, and medical history from 257 patients with NICE. Using the MoCA upon admission, patients were categorized into either normal cognitive function (NCF) or VCI groups. Furthermore, they were classified as having mild white matter hyperintensity (mWMH) or severe WMH based on Fazekas scores. We then compared the levels of serological markers between the cognitive function groups and the WMH groups. RESULTS: Among 257 patients with NICE, 165 were male and 92 were female. Lymphocyte count (OR = 0.448, P < 0.001) and LDL-C/HDL-C (OR = 0.725, P = 0.028) were protective factors for cognitive function in patients with NICE. The sWMH group had a higher age and inflammation markers but a lower MoCA score, and lymphocyte count than the mWMH group. In the mWMH group, lymphocyte count (AUC = 0.765, P < 0.001) and LDL-C/HDL-C (AUC = 0.740, P < 0.001) had an acceptable diagnostic value for the diagnosis of VCI. In the sWMH group, no significant differences were found in serological markers between the NCF and VCI groups. CONCLUSION: Lymphocyte count, LDL-C/HDL-C were independent protective factors for cognitive function in patients with NICE; they can be used as potential biological markers to distinguish VCI in patients with NICE and are applicable to subgroups of patients with mWMH.

RESUMO

Due to the challenges involved in achieving high metal load, uniform metal dispersion and nanosized metal particles simultaneously, it is difficult to develop a simple protocol for the rapid and efficient synthesis of Pt-based composites for electrocatalytic ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR). In this study, a facile ultrafast thermal shock strategy via Joule heating was applied to fabricate a series of PtCoCu ternary nanoalloys decorated carbon nanotube composites (TS-PtCoCu/CNTs), without the need for a reducing agent or surfactant. The TS-PtCoCu/CNTs with optimal Pt content (∼15 %) exhibited excellent EOR activity, with mass and specific activity of 3.58 A mgPt-1 and 5.79 mA cm-2, respectively, which are 3.8 and 13.5 times higher than those of Pt/C. Compared with the control prepared through the traditional furnace annealing, the catalyst also showed excellent activity and stability. DFT calculations revealed that the TS-PtCoCu/CNTs possesses a downshifted d-band center, weakened CO adsorption and higher OH affinity compared with monometallic Pt, all of which lead to the preferred C1 pathway for EOR. This study demonstrates an ultrafast construction of a highly efficient Pt-Co-Cu ternary catalyst for EOR. Additionally, it provides insights into the reaction mechanism based on structural characterization, electrochemical characterization, and theoretical calculations.

RESUMO

Intertidal wetland sediments are an important source of atmospheric nitrogen oxides (NOx), but their contribution to the global NOx budget remains unclear. In this work, we conducted year-round and diurnal observations in the intertidal wetland of Jiaozhou Bay to explore their regional source-sink patterns and influence factors on NOx emissions (initially in the form of nitric oxide) and used a dynamic soil reactor to further extend the mechanisms underlying the tidal pulse of nitric oxide (NO) observed in our investigations. The annual fluxes of NOx in the vegetated wetland were significantly higher than those in the wetland without vegetation. Their annual variations could be attributed to changes in temperature and the amount of organic carbon in the sediment, which was derived from vegetated plants and promoted the carbon-nitrogen cycle. Anaerobic denitrifiers had advantages in the intertidal wetland sediment and accounted for the major NO production (63.8 %) but were still limited by nitrite and nitrate concentrations in the sediment. Moreover, the tidal pulse was likely a primary driver of NOx emissions from intertidal wetlands over short periods, which was not considered in previous investigations. The annual NO exchange flux considering the tide pulse contribution (8.93 ± 1.72 × 10-2 kg N ha-1 yr-1) was significantly higher than that of the non-pulse period (4.14 ± 1.13 × 10-2 kg N ha-1 yr-1) in our modeling result for the fluxes over the last decade. Therefore, the current measurement of NOx fluxes underestimated the actual gas emission without considering the tidal pulse.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to investigate the potential correlations among serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] levels, white matter hyperintensity (WMH) and cognitive function in patients with non-disabling ischemic cerebrovascular events (NICE). METHODS: This was a prospective investigation of 160 NICE patients with age of 40 years or older. Cognitive function was evaluated by the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). White matter lesions were evaluated by WMH using Fazekas scores. Spearman correlation analysis and linear regression models were used to identify the associations between serum 25(OH)D levels and cognitive function. Binary logistic regression analysis models were used to evaluate the predictable value of serum 25(OH)D levels and WMH for cognitive impairment. RESULTS: Patients with inadequate 25(OH)D levels had lower MoCA score (P=0.008), and a higher proportion of severe WMH (P=0.043). Spearman correlation analysis demonstrated that serum 25(OH)D concentrations were positively associated with MoCA score (rs=0.185, P=0.019) while negatively related to the proportion of severe WMH (sWMH) (rs=-0.166, P=0.036).The association between 25(OH)D concentrations and MoCA score remained significant in linear regression (adjusted ß=0.012, 95%CI:0.001-0.203).Adjusted binary logistic regression analysis showed that the odds ratio of cognitive impairment with insufficient 25(OH)D concentration was 5.038 (95%CI:1.154-21.988) compared with the sufficient group and the sWMH (OR=2.728, 95%CI:1.230-6.051) was identified as an independent risk factor for cognitive decline in NICE patients. CONCLUSION: Serum 25(OH)D levels and white matter lesions were independently and significantly associated with cognitive impairment in NICE patients.

RESUMO

Understanding the control mechanisms of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in intertidal wetland sediments is beneficial for the concern of global carbon biogeochemistry and climate change. Nevertheless, multiple controls on CO2 emissions from intertidal wetland sediments to the atmosphere still need to be clarified. This study investigated the effect of tidal action on CO2 emissions from salt marsh sediments covered by Spartina alterniflora in the Jiaozhou Bay wetland using the static chamber method combined with an infrared CO2 detector. The results showed that the CO2 emission fluxes from the sediment during ebb tides were higher than those during flood tides. The whole wetland sediment acted as a weak source of atmospheric CO2 (average flux: 24.44 ± 16.80 mg C m-2 h-1) compared to terrestrial soils and was affected by the cycle of seawater inundation and exposure. The tidal influence on vertical dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) transport in the sediment was also quantitated using a two-end member mixing model. The surface sediment layer (5-15 cm) with maximum DIC concentration during ebb tides became the one with minimum DIC concentration during flood tides, indicating the DIC transport from the surface sediment to seawater. Furthermore, aerobic respiration by microorganisms was the primary process of CO2 production in the sediment according to 16 S rDNA sequencing analysis. This study revealed the strong impact of tidal action on CO2 emissions from the wetland sediment and provided insights into the source-sink pattern of CO2 and DIC at the land-ocean interface.

RESUMO

Nitric oxide (NO) is an atmospheric pollutant and climate forcer as well as a key intermediary in the marine nitrogen cycle, but the ocean's NO contribution and production mechanisms remain unclear. Here, high-resolution NO observations were conducted simultaneously in the surface ocean and the lower atmosphere of the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea; moreover, NO production from photolysis and microbial processes was analyzed. The NO sea-air exchange showed uneven distributions (RSD = 349.1%) with an average flux of 5.3 ± 18.5 × 10-17 mol cm-2 s-1. In coastal waters where nitrite photolysis was the predominant source (89.0%), NO concentrations were remarkably higher (84.7%) than the overall average of the study area. The NO from archaeal nitrification accounted for 52.8% of all microbial production (11.0%). We also examined the relationship between gaseous NO and ozone which helped identify sources of atmospheric NO. The sea-to-air flux of NO in coastal waters was narrowed by contaminated air with elevated NO concentrations. These findings indicate that the emissions of NO from coastal waters, mainly controlled by reactive nitrogen inputs, will increase with the reduced terrestrial NO discharge.

RESUMO

Background: Both inflammation and cerebral white matter injury are closely associated with vascular cognitive impairment (VCI). The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation between peripheral serological markers, white matter injury, and cognitive function in patients with non-disabling ischemic cerebrovascular events (NICE); to identify potential biological markers for the diagnosis and prediction of VCI; and to provide a basis for the early diagnosis and intervention of VCI. Methods: We collected clinical data, along with demographic and medical history data, from 151 NICE patients. Fasting venous blood samples were collected. Based on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) after admission, we divided the patients into normal cognitive function (NCF) and VCI groups, and then classified them into mild white matter hyperintensity (mWMH) and severe white matter hyperintensity (sWMH) based on Fazekas scores. The differences in serological marker levels were compared between the cognitive function groups and the white matter hyperintensity groups. Binary logistic regression models and receiver operating characteristic curves were used to analyze the diagnostic predictive value of serological markers for VCI in patients with NICE and in the white matter hyperintensity subgroups. Results: Among 151 patients with NICE, 95 were male and 56 were female. Lymphocyte count (OR = 0.405, p = 0.010, 95% CI [0.201, 0.806]), red blood cell count (OR = 0.433, p = 0.010, 95% CI [0.228, 0.821]), and hemoglobin level (OR = 0.979, p = 0.046, 95% CI [0.958, 0.999]) were protective factors for cognitive function in patients with NICE. The sWMH group had a higher age, granulocyte/lymphoid ratio (NLR), and neutrophil percentage but a lower MoCA score, hemoglobin level, and lymphocyte count than the mWMH group. In the mWMH group, lymphocyte count (AUC = 0.713, p = 0.003, 95% CI [0.593, 0.833]) had an acceptable predictive value for the diagnosis of VCI, whereas white blood cell count (AUC = 0.672, p = 0.011, 95% CI [0.545, 0.799]), red blood cell count (AUC = 0.665, p = 0.014, 95% CI [0.545, 0.784]), and hemoglobin level (AUC = 0.634, p = 0.047, 95% CI [0.502, 0.765]) had marginal predictive value for the diagnosis of VCI. In the sWMH group, no significant differences were found in serological markers between the NCF and VCI groups. Conclusion: Lymphocyte count, red blood cell count, and hemoglobin level were independent protective factors for cognitive function in patients with NICE; they can be used as potential biological markers to distinguish VCI in patients with NICE and are applicable to subgroups of patients with mWMH.

RESUMO

Objective: Freezing of gait (FOG) is one of common and disabling gait impairments of Parkinson's disease (PD). White matter hyperintensity (WMH) and lacunes, as common manifestations of cerebral small vessel diseases (CSVD), have been reported to be associated with gait function in PD patients. However, in the cases with FOG which present with extensive WMH or lacunes, it actually is difficult to distinguish pure PD pathology from vascular origin or combined effects. So far little is known about the correlation between enlarged perivascular space (PVS) and FOG in PD patients. This study aims to explore the role of enlarged PVS in FOG in PD patients. Methods: A total of 95 patients with PD in the absence of obvious WMH and lacunes were included in our study, which were divided into PD-FOG (+) group and PD-FOG (-) group. Demographic and clinical data were investigated. Enlarged PVS in the centrum semiovale (CSO) and basal ganglia (BG) were assessed. The association between enlarged PVS and FOG in patients with PD was analyzed using the multivariate models and the Spearman's correlation. Results: There were 36 PD patients grouped into PD-FOG (+) (37.9%), with an older age, a longer PD disease duration, and larger numbers of enlarged PVS in CSO and BG compared with PD-FOG (-) group. The highest-severity degree of enlarged PVS burden in CSO was independently associated with FOG in patients with PD [adjusted odds ratio (OR), 3.869; p = 0.022 in multivariable model]. The percentages of FOG case increased accompanied by the aggravation of enlarged PVS located in CSO. The grade and count of enlarged PVS in CSO and BG both correlated with FOGQ score in PD patients. Conclusion: Enlarged PVS, particularly in CSO, are associated with FOG in patients with PD, which provides a novel perspective for the mechanisms of FOG in PD.

RESUMO

To explore the spatial and temporal distributions of dissolved organic matter (DOM) affected by Ulva prolifera bloom and the regulation of DOM released by the addition of nitrate (NO3-N) nutrients, the variation in DOM was analyzed by three cruises in the coastal waters of the southern Yellow Sea (SYS) off Qingdao during a 2018 U. prolifera bloom. A mesocosm experiment was conducted during the decay of U. prolifera. The U. prolifera bloom resulted in higher concentrations of the bulk DOM except for total dissolved amino acids (TDAA), compared with levels recorded during non-bloom periods. Three different fluorescent substances of chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM) were identified, which were also affected by the bloom. Concentrations of total dissolved carbohydrates (TCHO), monosaccharides (MCHO), and polysaccharides (PCHO) peaked during the late bloom, with average levels of 49.78 ± 9.73, 14.23 ± 3.32, and 35.55 ± 9.19 µmol C L-1, respectively, accompanied by an increase of DOC, indicating release of DOM with U. prolifera decay. In contrast, the concentrations of CDOM and TDAA declined during the late bloom, with averages of 0.10 ± 0.10 m-1 and 1.16 ± 0.82 µmol L-1, suggesting that the yields of CDOM and TDAA were regulated by the U. prolifera bloom and other mechanism. These findings were confirmed by the mesocosm experiment. DOM production was obviously improved by NO3-N addition except for TDAA and CDOM. The release of protein-like CDOM was primarily regulated by NO3-N nutrients, however, it was not obvious with humic-like CDOM. Our findings provide evidence supporting the role of U. prolifera blooms in the coastal DOM pool and its significant effect on the marine carbon cycle.

RESUMO

A family of oxazaborines, diazaborinones, triazaborines, and triazaborinones was prepared by reaction of polarized ethylenes, such as ß-enaminoamides, with 4-methylbenzenediazonium tetraphenylborates. The reaction conditions (stirring in CH2Cl2 at room temperature (Method A) or stirring with CH3COONa in CH2Cl2 at room temperature (Method B) or refluxing in the CH2Cl2/toluene mixture (Method C)) controlled the formation and relative content of these compounds in the reaction mixtures from one to three products. Substituted oxazaborines gradually rearranged into diazaborinones at 250 °C. The prepared compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR, and UV-Vis spectroscopy, HRMS, or microanalysis. The structure of individual compounds was confirmed by 11B NMR, 15N NMR, 1D NOESY, and X-ray analysis. The mechanism of reaction of enaminoamides with 4-methylbenzenediazonium tetraphenylborate was proposed.

RESUMO

As an environmental nuisance, Ulva prolifera green tides have occurred annually in the southern Yellow Sea since 2007. While it is expected that high levels of biological activity during these blooms can alter seawater carbonate chemistry, there has been little research on the responses of marine carbonate system to green tides. Here, the effects of the bloom on the carbonate system were examined on three cruises in June, July, and September, corresponding to the early-, late-, and after-bloom periods of the U. prolifera bloom in Qingdao coastal waters in 2018. Among these three stages, the pH (National Bureau of Standards scale), dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), total alkalinity (TA), and partial pressure of CO2 (pCO2) were all affected by bloom, with the highest pH and lowest DIC and TA concentrations of the surface seawater occurring at the late-bloom stage. While pCO2 continuously increased from the beginning to the end of the bloom. TA increased by ∼40 µmol kg-1 between the early- and after-bloom periods likely due to the shifts in the carbonate system equilibrium caused by increased CO32- concentrations and the organic matter released by U. prolifera during decomposition. Compared to nearby areas with no U. prolifera bloom, the green tide, along with increasing temperature, reduced the pH and DIC but increased the TA and pCO2. This large-scale bloom also turned the coastal waters from being an atmospheric CO2 sink to a strong source, with the estimation of air-sea CO2 fluxes about 1.69 ± 1.70, 2.28 ± 1.16, and 7.44 ± 5.84 mmol m-2 d-1 during the early-, late-, and after-bloom periods, respectively. This bloom event also promoted the formation of CaCO3 and was an important source of low molecular weight organic acids. These new findings provide nuances for the current conversations on the role of biological processes in modulating marine carbonate system and the contribution of organic matter to alkalinity.

RESUMO

In the rural autonomous context of China, inclusive innovation of bricolage is a widespread phenomenon. However, the existing research rarely considers villagers as the main actors of innovation. In a research survey of 23 provinces in China, we studied the internal mechanism of inclusive innovation of bricolage. We found that the spiritual inspiration of the village cadres is positively related to inclusive innovation of bricolage behavior of villagers. Moreover, the results revealed that affective commitment to the village of the villagers plays a mediating role in the relationship between the spiritual inspiration of the village cadres and inclusive innovation of bricolage behavior of villagers. In addition, our findings reveal that resilience of villagers plays a moderating role in the relationship between the spiritual inspiration of the village cadres and inclusive innovation of bricolage behavior of villagers.

RESUMO

A UV-vis spectrometer, as a sort of important analytical instrument, has been widely used to analyze various substances. However, expensive equipment and skilled operators are required, which limits its broad applications for out-of-lab and daily measurements. In this work, a self-designed sensing device based on smart phone was developed as a sensitive, cost-effective, facile, and portable testing tool. The sensing device fabricated by 3D printing was used to lodge a sample solution and produce a light signal, and the optical sensor on a smart phone worked as a transducer. The light source in the device generated wide-wavelength radiation, which passed through an inner filter and only light of a designated wavelength reached the testing solution. The intensity of transmitted light was then measured by an optical sensor internally installed in most smart phones, where the signals were processed as well. The feasibility of our device was verified by detecting four kinds of common heavy metal ions in actual water samples, and the testing results showed good agreement with those obtained from the UV-vis spectrometer. This work is expected to shed some light on the construction of smart phone-based sensors, featuring decent portability, simple operation, low cost, high sensitivity, and good accuracy.

RESUMO

Topological transitions between considerably different phases typically require harsh conditions to collectively break chemical bonds and overcome the stress caused to the original structure by altering its correlated bond environment. In this work we present a case system that can achieve rapid rearrangement of the whole lattice of a metal-organic framework through a domino alteration of the bond connectivity under mild conditions. The system transforms from a disordered metal-organic framework with low porosity to a highly porous and crystalline isomer within 40 s following activation (solvent exchange and desolvation), resulting in a substantial increase in surface area from 725 to 2,749 m2 g-1. Spectroscopic measurements show that this counter-intuitive lattice rearrangement involves a metastable intermediate that results from solvent removal on coordinatively unsaturated metal sites. This disordered-crystalline switch between two topological distinct metal-organic frameworks is shown to be reversible over four cycles through activation and reimmersion in polar solvents.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: Urotensin II (UII) is an important vasoactive peptide involved in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Monocytes/macrophages play important roles in every step of atherosclerosis. Although UII has a chemoattractant effect on monocytes, it is unclear whether UII regulates inflammatory responses in macrophages. The present study sought to explore whether UII can promote leukotriene B4 (LTB4) production by macrophages. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The mRNA expression level of LTB4 and 5-lipoxygenase were determined by real-time polymerase chain reaction. The protein level of LTB4 and 5-lipoxygenase expression was assayed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and Western blot, respectively. Western blot analysis was also employed to determine the phosphorylated forms of Akt. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) level was detected by the fluorescent probe 2',7'-dichlorofluorescin diacetate and fluorescence intensity was measured with a multiwell fluorescence plate reader. RESULTS: Urotensin II promoted LTB4 release and increased 5-lipoxygenase expression in a concentration- and time-dependent manner in RAW264.7 cells. Leukotriene B4 production and 5-lipoxygenase expression were decreased by blocking the UII receptor (UT) with urantide, eliminating ROS with N-acetylcysteine and diphenyliodonium, and inhibiting Akt phosphorylation with LY294002. UII significantly elevated ROS production, whereas urantide, N-acetylcysteine and diphenyliodonium substantially attenuated this effect. UII also enhanced Akt phosphorylation significantly, and this effect was potently inhibited by urantide, N-acetylcysteine, diphenyliodonium and LY294002. CONCLUSIONS: Urotensin II may promote 5-lipoxygenase expression and LTB4 release in RAW264.7 macrophages via UT-ROS-Akt pathways. These results indicate that UII may participate in macrophage activation and suggest a potential new mechanism underlying atherosclerosis.

RESUMO

The diverse elemental compositions endow metal halide perovskites with tailorable electronic structures and broad optoelectronic applications. For Sn-based perovskites, their bandedge positions, which govern interfacial charge-carrier transport, are less well studied than their Pb counterparts. In this work, the valence band maximum (VBM) of CsSnBr3 was experimentally and theoretically determined to be -5.2 eV, to which Au forms a good contact. The conduction band minimum (CBM) of CsSnBr3 at -3.4 eV is matched by 1,3,5-tris(4-phenylquinolin-2-yl)benzene (TQB), an organic electron transport material and a ligand to Sn(II). Thanks to proper band alignment, the device structure Al/TQB/CsSnBr3/Au constitutes a photodetector responsive to the entire visible spectrum without a bias voltage and outperforms Pb-based devices under similar conditions. Our results highlight the advantage of combined experimental and theoretical tools in understanding intrinsic material properties and guiding device fabrication.

RESUMO

Four lithium coordination polymers, [Li3(BTC)(H2O)6] (1), [Li3(BTC)(H2O)5] (2), [Li3(BTC)(µ2-H2O)] (3), and [Li(H2BTC)(H2O)] (4) (H3BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylatic acid), have been synthesized and characterized. All the structures have been determined using single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. Complexes 1 and 2 have two-dimensional (2-D) sheets, whereas complex 3 has three-dimensional (3-D) frameworks and complex 4 has one-dimensional (1-D) tubular chains. The crystal-to-crystal transformation was observed in 1⁻3 upon removal of water molecules, which accompanied the changes in structures and ligand bridging modes. Furthermore, the electrochemical properties of complexes 3 and 4 have been studied to evaluate these compounds as electrode materials in lithium ion batteries with the discharge capacities of 120 and 257 mAhg-1 in the first thirty cycles, respectively.

RESUMO

Brønsted-Lewis acidic ionic liquids (ILs) were applied to catalyze cellobiose to prepare levulinic acid (LA) in one pot under hydrothermal conditions. Under the optimum conditions, the highest LA yield of 67.51% was obtained when low [HO3S-(CH2)3-mim]Cl-FeCl3 (molar fraction of FeCl3 x = 0.60) was used. This indicated the Brønsted-Lewis acidic ILs played an active role in the conversion of cellobiose to LA. The catalytic mechanism of ILs had been established, disclosing that the Brønsted-Lewis acidic ILs had the catalytic synergistic effect originating from its double acid sites. During the reaction process, the Lewis acid sites improved the isomerization of glucose to fructose, then the Brønsted and Lewis acid sites simultaneously enhanced the dehydration of fructose to produce hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), which was propitious to the synthesize LA with high yield. In addition, LA could be easily extracted by methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK), and the ILs could retain its basic activity after 5 cycles. The solid residues were characterized using SEM, FT-IR and TG-DTG spectroscopy. It was the conclusion that a large amount of humins were produced during the cellobiose conversion process. In this reaction, the ILs not only overcomes the problems of the conventional catalyst, but also completes the reaction-separation integration and the recycling of the catalyst. This paper provided an important theoretical basis for the application of ILs in the field of biomass.
