RESUMO

Panvascular diseases are a group of vascular system diseases, mainly including the heart, brain, neck, and other parts of the vascular lesions. As a non-pharmacological intervention, exercise therapy could prevent and treat Panvascular diseases. However, few bibliometric analyses of exercise therapy in Panvascular disease exist. This study aimed to analyze the trends and hotspots over the past decade and provide insights into the latest state of the art in global research, thereby contributing to further research in the field. We systematically searched the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) for articles on exercise therapy and Panvascular disease. The acquired information from the reports was analyzed using CiteSpace and VOSviewer software to assess and forecast this field hottest areas and trends. The final analysis included 294 articles by our specified inclusion criteria. The number of publications has gradually increased over the past decade. Stroke was one of the most studied Panvascular diseases. China and the University of Sao Paulo were the country es and institutions that contributed the most to the field. Mary M. McDermott was the most prolific researcher, and the Journal of Vascular Surgery published the most articles. The 6-minute walk test, skeletal muscle, oxidative stress, and supervised exercise therapy were hot topics from 2019 to 2023. In conclusion, exploring exercise therapy programs and exercise mechanisms for Panvascular diseases has been ongoing. This study revealed the current status and trends of research in the field and identified hot topics. It was helpful for scholars to understand exercise therapy critical role in treating and preventing Panvascular diseases and provided a reference for clinical decision-making and further research.

OBJECTIVE: To study the mechanisms of curcumin alleviating oxidative stress and spleen apoptosis induced by overtraining in rats by regulating Kelch-like ECH-associated protein-1 (Keap1)-nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2)-antioxidant response element (ARE) signaling pathway. METHODS: Male Wistar rats of 7 weeks old were divided into control group (C group, 12), overtraining group (OM group, 11), curcumin + overtraining group (COM group, 14). The C Group did not undergo any exercise intervention. The OM and COM group underwent 8-week incremental load swimming training. During the training, rats in the COM group were treated with curcumin at the dose of 200 mg/(kg·d) in the volume of 5 ml/kg by gavage, and rats in the other groups were given an equal volume of solvent, 0.5% sodium carboxymethylcellulose. Twenty-four hours after the last training, the spleen index was calculated by weighing, the pathological changes of the spleen were observed by light microscopy, and the biochemical indicators of blood and spleen were detected. RESULTS: The spleen structure of C group was normal under light microscope; the spleen index of OM group was significantly lower than that of C group (P<0.01) and pathological changes were obvious; the spleen index of COM group was significantly higher than that of OM group (P<0.05) and histomorphological changes were relieved. Compared with C group, in OM group, serum corticosterone (Cor) level, spleen apoptosis level, malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration and the expression of proapoptotic Bcl-2 associated X protein (Bax) in spleen were increased (P<0.05 or P<0.01); the body weight, serum testosterone (T), superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, the expressions of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) and anti-apoptotic B cell lymphoma-2 protein (Bcl-2) in spleen were decreased (P<0.05 or P<0.01); the expression of Nrf2 was not changed significantly (P> 0.05). Compared with OM group, in COM group, there were no significant changes in body weight (P>0.05), serum T level, SOD activity, the expressions of Bcl-2, Nrf2 and HO-1 in spleen were increased (P<0.05 or P<0.01); serum Cor level, spleen apoptosis level, MDA concentration and the expression of Bax were decreased (P<0.05 or P<0.01). The change trend of T/Cor ratio between groups was consistent with the change of testosterone, and the change trend of Bcl-2/Bax ratio was consistent with the change of Bcl-2. CONCLUSION: The 8-week incremental load excessive swimming training aggravated spleen apoptosis, led to pathological changes and dysfunction of spleen. Curcumin can up-regulate expression of Nrf2 and HO-1, alleviate oxidative stress induced by overtraining, enhance Bcl-2 expression and attenuate Bax expression, thereby inhibiting excessive spleen apoptosis of rats, protecting the structure and function of spleen.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of moxibustion on mRNA expression of signal transducers and activators of transcription 1 (STAT 1), suppressors of cytokine signaling (SOCS) in synovium of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) rats, and to investigate its mechanism for relieving RA. METHODS: 40 Wistar rats were equally and randomly divided into control, model, moxibustion, acupuncture and infrared groups (n = 8 in each group). RA model was developed by putting rats in windy, cold and damp room and injection of Freund's complete adjuvant. Bilateral "Shenshu" (BL 23) were stimulated by the respective means for 20 min in duration, once every other day, ten times in total. The swelling degree of voix pedis (perimeter) of rats was measured. The contents of serum interleukin-1 (IL-1) and interleukin-2(IL-2) were detected by radioimmunoassay, and expression of STAT 1, SOCS mRNA in synovium were assessed by RT-PCR. RESULTS: Rats in model group had acute and severe swelling of voix pedis, together with the increase of serum IL-1 content and decrease of IL-2 content, and down-regulation of mRNA expression of both STAT 1 and SOCS in synovium(all P<0. 01). All three modalities of treatment alleviated the swelling and reversed the relevant changes(P<0. 05, P<0. 01) , however, moxibustion produced greater effects than acupuncture or infrared in elevating IL-2 content and up-regulating mRNA expression of both STAT 1 and SOCS. CONCLUSION: Moxibustion achieves the effects of anti-inflammation and joint swelling reduction of RA via decrease of IL-1, increase of IL-2 in serum and up-regulation of STAT 1, SOCS mRNA expression in synovium.
