RESUMO

Designing and preparing highly sensitive and accurate fluorescent chemosensors for monitoring tetracycline antibiotics remains a challenge. Herein, a fluorescent chemosensor based on lanthanide metal-organic frameworks (Ln-MOFs) is proposed to realize high-precision monitoring by adjusting the ratio of lanthanide ions. Ln-MOFs with good aqueous stability were prepared by a solvothermal method using Eu3+, Tb3+ and the ligand 4,4',4″-s-triazine-2,4,6-triyltribenzoic acid (H3TATB) in DMF/NMP/H2O. The Ln-MOFs could recognize oxytetracycline (OTC) and doxycycline (DOX), and the detection limits of OTC and DOX were as low as 8.6 and 4.8 nM, respectively. In particular, Eu(1.4 µM)-Tb-MOF sensors were used for visual detection of OTC and DOX in combination with smartphones with detection lines as low as 9.8 nM and 14.2 nM, respectively. Meanwhile, Eu-MOF, Tb-MOF and Eu(1.4 µM)-Tb-MOF can be used for latent fingerprint (LFP) visualization, demonstrating their potential applications in the field of criminal case investigation. The developed probes were successfully applied to determining OTC and DOX in milk, beef and pork with recoveries ranging from 92.0 % to 109.63 % and relative standard deviations (RSDs) ranging from 1.83 % to 4.56 %. Eu(1.4 µM)-Tb-MOF is believed to utilize its lanthanide metal ion coordination and photoinduced electron transfer (PET) mechanism to achieve highly selective and accurate OTC and DOX detection, which is supported by experimental and density functional theory (DFT) calculations.

RESUMO

Objective: The study aimed to obtain more evidence on the association of gestational weight gain and pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) with macrosomia. Methods: The data on 5409 live births delivered at Peking Union Medical College Hospital from July 2020 to June 2022 were collected. Group analyses were performed according to the presence or absence of macrosomia. Multivariable binary logistic regression and incidence heatmaps was used to analyze the related factors of macrosomia. Results: The following variables were significantly associated with macrosomia: overweight (odds ratio [OR]: 2.24, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.62-3.10), obesity (OR: 4.56, 95% CI: 2.93-6.98), excessive gestational weight gain (OR: 2.39, 95% CI: 1.67-3.43), gestational age at delivery at 39-41 weeks (OR: 3.83, 95% CI: 2.56-5.95), gestational age at delivery over 41 weeks (OR: 7.88, 95% CI: 4.37-14.19), education level of junior college or below (OR: 1.95, 95% CI: 1.19-3.09), and multipara (OR: 1.62, 95% CI: 1.09-2.42). "v" represents the mean weekly weight gain during the second and third trimesters. A higher v value increased the risk of macrosomia by 2.6-fold (95% CI: 1.37-4.89, P = 0.003). Compared to normal weight women, after adjustment for different pre-pregnancy BMI subgroups, overweight pregnant women had higher weekly weight gain in the second and third trimesters (OR: 4.57, 95% CI: 2.27-9.10, P < 0.001). Obese pregnant women had higher average weekly weight gain during the second and third trimesters, and the OR value for macrosomia was 11.33 (95% CI: 4.95-25.18, P < 0.001). To reduce the incidence of macrosomia in overweight pregnant women, v = 0.32 could be considered the critical threshold of average weekly weight gain in these women in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Conclusion: Pre-pregnancy BMI and weight gain during pregnancy are closely related to macrosomia. The introduction of average weekly weight gain values in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy probably help pregnant women minimizing adverse pregnancy-related outcomes.

What is already known about this topic? Pre-pregnancy BMI and GWG are both risk factors for macrosomia. It is very important to develop effective interventions based on pathogenic factors to promote the health of mothers and children. However, the threshold for maternal weight control in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy is unclear. What is added by this report? Our data suggest that the critical threshold of average weekly weight gain in overweight pregnant women during the second and third trimesters 0.32kg per week is beneficial to reduce the incidence of macrosomia. What are the implications for public health practice? The results of this study highlight the importance of weight management in women in the second and third trimesters, especially those who are overweight, and reasonable control of weight gain will contribute to maternal and fetal health.

RESUMO

This study explores the role of family and community support in promoting active aging among the elderly in China, utilizing data from the seventh wave of the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey. We analyzed how family support and psychological resilience contribute to active aging. Our findings indicate that while general family support shows a negative correlation with psychological resilience and active aging, emotional support from the family positively influences both. Additionally, psychological resilience is a partial mediator in this relationship, with community support as a moderator. The results suggest that interventions to increase emotional support from family and community could significantly enhance active aging.

RESUMO

SN-38 is the active metabolite of irinotecan and acts as an effective topoisomerase I inhibitor with therapeutic effects on many malignant tumors, including some drug-resistant cancers. However, the poor solubility, low bioavailability, and severe dose-dependent toxicity limits the clinical application of SN-38. Currently, emerging macrophage membrane-coated nanoparticles provide an efficient biomimetic approach to develop novel SN-38 formulations for the reduction of its side effects. Photothermal therapy (PTT) is a promising methods in tumor treatment to thermally ablate tumors using various materials such Prussian blue nanoparticles (NPs) and can combined with chemotherapy to synergistically work. There is no report that combined SN38 and photothermal therapy for the treatment of colorectal cancer (CRC). SN38-PB@CM NPs were constructed by loading SN-38 into macrophage cell membrane-coated hollow mesoporous Prussian blue (PB) NPs. The morphology, size and zeta potential were evaluated by transmission microscopy and dynamic light scatter (DLS). Coomassie bright blue staining was performed to assess total protein profile. The photothermal properties of it were also investigated via near-infrared imaging. CCK8 and calcein-AM/PI staining were used to evaluate cell viability. Flow cytometry was performed to assess cell apoptosis. The fluorescent microscopy was used to observe cellular uptake of SN38-PB@CM NPs to assess its internalization in vitro. The biodistribution, tumor-targeting efficacy, antitumor efficacy and safety of SN38-PB@CM NPs in vivo were assessed in CT26 tumor-bearing mice via In Vivo Imaging System. SN38-PB@CM NPs were successfully constructed and exhibited a uniform size distribution (140.5 ± 4.3 nm) and an excellent drug-loading capacity (5.61 ± 0.64%). SN38-PB@CM NPs showed stable release properties within 72 h. It can also enhance the selective intracellular delivery of SN38 in vitro and showed good near-infrared (NIR) photothermal properties. And the NPs showed excellent tumor targeting, effective photothermal therapy, improved biosafety and antitumor efficacy on CT26-bearing mice. Multifunctional SN38-PB@CM NPs could achieve improved biosafety, great tumor-targeting, high-efficiency PTT and excellent antitumor efficacy, which provided a promising and attractive combination therapy for the treatment of CRC.

RESUMO

Kiwifruit bacterial canker, caused by Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (PSA), poses a grave threat to the global kiwifruit industry. In this study, we examined the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in kiwifruit's response to PSA. Kiwifruit seedlings subjected to PSA treatment showed significant changes in both miRNA and gene expression compared to the control group. We identified 364 differentially expressed miRNAs (DEMs) and 7170 differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Further analysis revealed 180 miRNAs negatively regulating 641 mRNAs. Notably, two miRNAs from the miRNA482 family, miRNA-215-3p and miRNA-29-3p, were found to increase kiwifruit's sensitivity to PSA when overexpressed. These miRNAs were linked to the regulation of NBS-LRR target genes, shedding light on their role in kiwifruit's defence against PSA. This study offers insights into the miRNA482-NBS-LRR network as a crucial component in enhancing kiwifruit bioresistance to PSA infestation and provides promising candidate genes for further research.

RESUMO

Calcium-containing stones represent the most common form of kidney calculi, frequently linked to idiopathic hypercalciuria, though their precise pathogenesis remains elusive. This research aimed to elucidate the molecular mechanisms involved by employing urinary exosomal microRNAs as proxies for renal tissue analysis. Elevated miR-148b-5p levels were observed in exosomes derived from patients with kidney stones. Systemic administration of miR-148b-5p in rat models resulted in heightened urinary calcium excretion, whereas its inhibition reduced stone formation. RNA immunoprecipitation combined with deep sequencing identified miR-148b-5p as a suppressor of calcitonin receptor (Calcr) expression, thereby promoting urinary calcium excretion and stone formation. Mice deficient in Calcr in distal epithelial cells demonstrated elevated urinary calcium excretion and renal calcification. Mechanistically, miR-148b-5p regulated Calcr through the circRNA-83536/miR-24-3p signaling pathway. Human kidney tissue samples corroborated these results. In summary, miR-148b-5p regulates the formation of calcium-containing kidney stones via the circRNA-83536/miR-24-3p/Calcr axis, presenting a potential target for novel therapeutic interventions to prevent calcium nephrolithiasis.

RESUMO

Transition metal sulfides are widely used in supercapacitor electrode materials and exhibit excellent performance because of their rich variety, low price, and high theoretical specific capacity. At present, the main methods to prepare transition metal sulfides include the hydrothermal method and the electrochemical method. In order to further improve their electrochemical performance, two aspects can be addressed. Firstly, by controllable synthesis of nanomaterials, porous structures and large surface areas can be achieved, thereby improving ion transport efficiency. Secondly, by combining transition metal sulfides with other energy storage materials, such as carbon materials and metal oxides, the synergy between different materials can be fully utilized. However, future research still needs to address some challenges. In order to guide further in-depth research, it is necessary to combine the current research-derived knowledge and propose a direction for future development of transition metal sulfide electrode materials.

RESUMO

PIN-FORMED (PIN) proteins, which function as efflux transporters, play many crucial roles in the polar transportation of auxin within plants. In this study, the exogenous applications of auxin IAA and TIBA were found to significantly prolong and shorten the florescence of tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa Andr.) flowers. This finding suggests that auxin has some regulatory influence in petal senescence and abscission. Further analysis revealed a total of 8 PsPINs distributed across three chromosomes, which could be categorized into two classes based on phylogenetic and structural analysis. PsPIN1, PsPIN2a-b, and PsPIN4 were separated into the "long" PIN category, while PsPIN5, PsPIN6a-b, and PsPIN8 belonged to the "short" one. Additionally, the cis-regulatory elements of PsPIN promoters were associated with plant development, phytohormones, and environmental stress. These genes displayed tissue-specific expression, and phosphorylation sites were abundant throughout the protein family. Notably, PsPIN4 displayed distinct and elevated expression levels in roots, leaves, and flower organs. Expression patterns among the abscission zone (AZ) and adjacent areas during various flowering stages and IAA treatment indicate that PsPIN4 likely influences the initiation of peony petal abscission. The PsPIN4 protein was observed to be co-localized on both the plasma membrane and the cell nucleus. The ectopic expression of PsPIN4 reversed the premature flower organs abscission in the Atpin4 and significantly protracted florescence when introduced to Col Arabidopsis. Our findings established a strong basis for further investigation of PIN gene biological functions, particularly concerning intrinsic relationship between PIN-mediated auxin polar.

RESUMO

Background: Newly identified as a radiological concept, interstitial lung abnormalities (ILA) is emerging as a prognostic factor for lung cancer. Yet, debates persist regarding the prognostic significance of ILA in lung cancer. Our inaugural meta-analysis aimed to investigate the correlation between ILA and lung cancer outcomes, offering additional insights for clinicians in predicting patient prognosis. Methods: Articles meeting the criteria were found through PubMed, the Cochrane Library, EMBASE, and Web of Science by February 29, 2024. The outcomes evaluated were the survival rates such as overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), progression-free survival (PFS), and cancer-specific survival (CSS). Results: A total of 12 articles with 4416 patients were included in this meta-analysis. The pooled results showed that lung cancer patients with interstitial lung abnormalities had an inferior OS (n=11; HR=2.22; 95% CI=1.68-2.95; P<0.001; I2 = 72.0%; Ph<0.001), PFS (n=3; HR=1.59; 95% CI=1.08-2.32; P=0.017; I2 = 0%; Ph=0.772), and CSS (n=2; HR=4.00; 95% CI=1.94-8.25; P<0.001; I2 = 0%; Ph=0.594) than those without, however, the ILA was not significantly associated with the DFS (n=2; HR=2.07; 95% CI=0.94-7.02; P=0.066; I2 = 90.4%; Ph=0.001). Moreover, lung cancer patients with ILA were significantly correlated with male (OR=2.43; 95% CI=1.48-3.98; P<0.001), smoking history (OR=2.11; 95% CI=1.37-3.25; P<0.001), advanced age (OR=2.50; 95% CI=1.56-4.03; P<0.001), squamous carcinoma (OR=0.42; 95% CI=0.24-0.71; P=0.01), and EGFR mutation (OR=0.50; 95% CI=0.32-0.78; P=0.002). The correlation between ILA and race, stage, ALK, however, was not significant. Conclusion: ILA was a availability factors of prognosis in patients with lung cancers. These findings highlight the importance of early pulmonary fibrosis, namely ILA for prognosis in patients with lung cancer, and provide a partial rationale for future clinical work.

RESUMO

A novel colorimetric-fluorescent dual-mode chemosensor (JT5) based on rhodamine B has been produced for monitoring Sn4+ in the DMSO/H2O (4:1, v/v) medium. It has high sensitivity, a low detection limit, a short response time (1 s) and high stability, and can still be maintained after two weeks with the red dual fluorescence/ colorimetric response. Enhancement of red fluorescence (591 nm) and red colorimetric (567 nm) response of JT5 by Sn4+ addition. The electrostatic potential of the sensor JT5 molecule was simulated to speculate on the sensing mechanism, and the IR, mass spectrometry and 1H NMR titration were utilized to further demonstrate that JT5 was coordinated to Sn4+ with a 1:1 type, the rhodamine spironolactam ring of JT5 opens up to form a penta-membered ring with Sn4+, meanwhile, its system may have chelation enhanced fluorescence (CHEF) effect. In addition, theoretical calculations were carried out to give the energy gaps of JT5 and [JT5 + Sn4+] as well as to simulate the electronic properties of the maximal absorption peaks. Notably, the sensor JT5 was successfully applied to monitoring Sn4+ in zebrafish, and the JT5-loaded filter paper provided a solid-state platform for detecting Sn4+ by both naked eye and fluorescent methods. In summary, this work contributes to monitoring Sn4+ in organisms and solid-state materials and promotes understanding of Sn4+ functions in biological systems, environments, and solid-state materials.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: We sought to investigate the impact of individualized exercise guidance during pregnancy on the incidence of macrosomia and the mediating effect of gestational weight gain (GWG). DESIGN: A prospective randomized clinical trial. SETTING: A Hospital in Xingtai District, Hebei Province. POPULATION: Older than 20 years of age, mid-pregnancy, and singleton pregnant women without contraindications to exercise during pregnancy. METHODS: A randomized clinical trial was conducted from December 2021 to September 2022 to compare the effects of standard prenatal care with individualized exercise guidance on the incidence of macrosomia. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE: Incidence of macrosomia. RESULTS: In all, 312 singleton women were randomized into an intervention group (N = 162) or a control group (N = 150). Participants who received individualized exercise guidance had a significantly lower incidence of macrosomia (3.73% vs. 13.61%, P = 0.002) and infants large for gestational age (9.94% vs. 19.73%, P = 0.015). However, no differences were observed in the rate of preterm birth (1.86% vs. 3.40%, P = 0.397) or the average gestational age at birth (39.14 ± 1.51 vs. 38.69 ± 1.85, P = 0.258). Mediation analysis revealed that GWG mediated the effect of exercise on reducing the incidence of macrosomia. CONCLUSION: Individualized exercise guidance may be a preventive tool for macrosomia, and GWG mediates the effect of exercise on reducing the incidence of macrosomia. However, evidence does not show that exercise increases the rate of preterm birth or affects the average gestational age at birth. TRIAL REGISTRATION: The trial is registered at www.clinicaltrails.gov [registration number: NCT05760768; registration date: 08/03/2023 (retrospectively registered)].

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Dietary fiber (DF) has a good application prospect in effectively restoring the integrity of the intestinal mucosal barrier. Ginseng-DF has good physicochemical properties and physiological activity and shows positive effects in enhancing immunity. The aim of this study was to investigate the protective effect of Ginseng-DF on intestinal mucosal barrier injury induced by cyclophosphamide (CTX) in immunosuppressed mice and its possible mechanism. METHODS: The effects of Gginseng-DF on immune function in mice were studied by delayed-type hypersensitivy, lymphocyte proliferation assay and NK cytotoxicity assay, the T lymphocyte differentiation and intestinal barrier integrity were analyzed by flow cytometry and western blot. RESULTS: Ginseng-DF (2.5% and 5%) could attenuate the inhibition of DTH response by CTX, promote the transformation and proliferation of lymphocytes, and stimulate NK effector cell activity. At the same time, Ginseng-DF could restore the proportion of CD4+/CD8+ T lymphocytes induced by CTX to different extents, improved spleen tissue damage, promoted the secretion of immunoglobulin IgG, and enhanced body immunity. More importantly, Ginseng-DF could up-regulate the contents of TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-6 and IL-1ß in serum and intestine of immunosuppressed mice to maintain the balance between Th1/Th2 cytokines, and improve the permeability of intestinal mucosal barrier. Meanwhile, Ginseng-DF could reduce intestinal epithelial cell apoptosis and improve intestinal adaptive immunity in CTX-induced immunosuppressed mice by regulating MAPK/NF-κB signaling pathway. CONCLUSION: Ginseng-DF can be used as a safe dietary supplement to enhance body immunity and reduce intestinal mucosal injury caused by CTX.

RESUMO

Purpose: To assess the impact of maternal pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) on longitudinal fetal growth, and the potential mediation effect of the maternal fasting plasma glucose in first trimester. Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, we collected pre-pregnancy BMI data and ultrasound measurements during pregnancy of 3879 singleton pregnant women who underwent antenatal examinations and delivered at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. Generalized estimation equations, linear regression, and logistic regression were used to examine the association between pre-pregnancy BMI with fetal growth and adverse neonatal outcomes. Mediation analyses were also used to examine the mediating role of maternal fasting plasma glucose (FPG) in first trimester. Results: A per 1 Kg/m² increase in pre-pregnancy BMI was associated with increase fetal body length Z-score (ß 0.010, 95% CI 0.001, 0.019) and fetal body weight (ß 0.017, 95% CI 0.008, 0.027). In mid pregnancy, pre-pregnancy BMI also correlated with an increase Z-score of fetal abdominal circumference, femur length (FL). Pre-pregnancy BMI was associated with an increased risk of large for gestational age and macrosomia. Mediation analysis indicated that the associations between pre-pregnancy BMI and fetal weight in mid and late pregnancy, and at birth were partially mediated by maternal FPG in first trimester (mediation proportion: 5.0%, 8.3%, 1.6%, respectively). Conclusion: Maternal pre-pregnancy BMI was associated with the longitudinal fetal growth, and the association was partly driven by maternal FPG in first trimester. The study emphasized the importance of identifying and managing mothers with higher pre-pregnancy BMI to prevent fetal overgrowth.

RESUMO

Objective This population-based cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the association between thyroid hormones and renal function in euthyroid Chinese individuals, as the relationship between thyroid hormones and renal function in this population remains unclear. Methods A total of 661 participants were included in the study after excluding individuals with thyroid diseases, incomplete clinical measurements, or those taking medications affecting thyroid function. Participants were categorized into three groups based on serum thyroid hormone and antibody levels. The study adjusted for covariates and assessed the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR) in relation to thyroid hormone levels. Results After adjusting for covariates, the study found a significant increase in GFR in the middle and highest tertiles of free triiodothyronine (FT3) and the highest tertile of total triiodothyronine (TT3). Serum FT3 and TT3 levels were significantly associated with GFR. Additionally, the study observed a significantly lower GFR in the highest tertile of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) compared to the lowest tertile. However, thyroid hormone and antibody levels were not associated with the ACR. Furthermore, the highest tertiles of TT3 and total thyroxine (TT4) were associated with a decreased risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Conclusion In our study among euthyroid Chinese individuals, we observed a significant association between thyroid function and GFR. Specifically, lower FT3, TT3, and higher TSH were associated with reduced GFR, indicating a potential role for thyroid hormones in maintaining renal function. Furthermore, lower levels of TT3 and TT4 were associated with an increased risk of CKD. These findings suggest a direct link between thyroid and renal function, even in euthyroid individuals, emphasizing the need for further investigation to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and potential therapeutic implications.

RESUMO

Diquat (DQ) is a typical bipyridine herbicide widely used to control weeds in fields and orchards. The severe toxicity of diquat poses a serious threat to the environment and human health. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have received widespread attention due to their unique physical and chemical properties and applications in the detection of toxic and harmful substances. In this work, a two-dimensional (2D) Tb(III) functionalized MOF Tb(III)@1 (1 = [Cd(HTATB)(bimb)]n·H2O (Cd-MOF), H3TATB = 4,4',4″-triazine-2,4,6-tribenzoicacid, bimb = 1,4-bis((1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl)benzene) has been prepared and characterized. Tb(III)@1 has excellent optical properties and high water and chemical stability. After the Tb(III) is fixed by the uncoordinated -COO- in the 1 framework, Tb(III)@1 emits the typical green fluorescence of the lanthanide ion Tb(III) through the "antenna effect". It is worth noting that Tb(III)@1 can be used as a dual emission fluorescence chemical sensor for the ratio fluorescence detection of pesticide DQ, exhibiting a relatively low detection limit of 0.06 nM and a wide detection range of 0-50 nM. After the addition of DQ, a rapid color change of Tb(III)@1 fluorescence from green to blue was observed due to the combined effects of IFE, FRET and dynamic quenching. Therefore, a simple test paper box has been designed for direct on-site determination of pesticide DQ. In addition, the developed sensor has been successfully applied to the detection of DQ in real samples (fruits a Yin-Xia Sun and Bo-Tao Ji contributed equally to this work and should be considered co-first authors.nd vegetables) with satisfactory results. The results indicate that the probe developed in this study has broad application prospects in both real sample detection and actual on-site testing.

RESUMO

Food for special medical purposes (FSMP) has received increasing attention as an enteral nutritional supplement. To investigate the effects of whole nutritional formula (WNF) containing dietary fiber and regular formula on nutritional supplementation and improvement of intestinal microecology, a rat malnutrition model was established with the formulations of WNF, FOS, and SDF (10, 20 g/kg bw) administered by gavage for 30 days. The results showed that the three formulations effectively improved the nutritional status of the malnourished rats, significantly increasing the level of IgG, increasing the abundance of Bacteroidetes, and affecting the content of propionic acid (PRO). The nutritional status of rats is closely related to growth performance, nutritional indexes, and immunoglobulin index, which cause changes in the composition of the intestinal flora. The above results showed that WNF positively affected the nutritional improvement, immune level, and intestinal health of rats. The comprehensive evaluation also suggested that the formulation containing ginseng water-soluble dietary fiber (ginseng-SDF) had the most significant effect.

RESUMO

To compare the urine Congo-red dot paper test (CRD) with dipstick urinalysis to screen preeclampsia (PE). A total of 409 paired spot urine samples were obtained prospectively from women with suspected pre-eclampsia attending for routine hospital visits. Congo-red dot paper test and dipstick urinalysis were examined and compared to screen pre-eclampsia. The agreement between the two urinary test is modest (kappa coefficient = 0.28, 95% CI 0.14-0.42). The specificity of CRD was higher than urinalysis (97.4% vs. 90.4%, p < .001). Urinalysis performed better in sensitivity (77.3% vs. 40.9%, p = .04) and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curves (AUC) (0.84 [95% CI 0.74-0.94] vs. 0.69 [95% CI 0.55-0.83], p = .04) than CRD, respectively. The sensitivity, specificity, AUC of the parallel test of them is 86.4% (64.0%-96.4%), 89.1% (85.5%-92.0%), and 0.88 (95% CI 0.79-0.96). And the serial test is 31.8% (14.7%-54.9%), 98.7% (96.8%-99.5%), 0.65 (95% CI 0.51-0.79), accordingly. The urinalysis is a better diagnosing test for preeclampsia. CRD could aid in the diagnosis of patients with preeclampsia. Combined the two tests in suspected patients may further improve the performance in the diagnosis of preeclampsia. Further study need to be made for its potential clinical practice.
