RESUMO

The expandable graphite (EG) modified TiO2 nanocomposites were prepared by the high shear method using the TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) and EG as precursors, in which the amount of EG doped in TiO2 was 10 wt.%. Followed by the impregnation method, adjusting the pH of the solution to 10, and using the electrostatic adsorption to achieve spatial confinement, the Pt elements were mainly distributed on the exposed TiO2, thus generating the Pt/10EG-TiO2-10 catalyst. The best CO oxidation activity with the excellent resistance to H2O and SO2 was obtained over the Pt/10EG-TiO2-10 catalyst: CO conversion after 36 hr of the reaction was ca. 85% under the harsh condition of 10 vol.% H2O and 100 ppm SO2 at a high gaseous hourly space velocity (GHSV) of 400,000 hr-1. Physicochemical properties of the catalysts were characterized by various techniques. The results showed that the electrostatic adsorption, which riveted the Pt elements mainly on the exposed TiO2 of the support surface, reduced the dispersion of Pt NPs on EG and achieved the effective dispersion of Pt NPs, hence significantly improving CO oxidation activity over the Pt/10EG-TiO2-10 catalyst. The 10 wt.% EG doped in TiO2 caused the TiO2 support to form a more hydrophobic surface, which reduced the adsorption of H2O and SO2 on the catalyst, greatly inhibited deposition of the TiOSO4 and formation of the PtSO4 species as well as suppressed the oxidation of SO2, thus resulting in an improvement in the resistance to H2O and SO2 of the Pt/10EG-TiO2-10 catalyst.

NADPH-cytochrome P450 reductase (CPR) is crucial for the detoxification process catalysed by cytochrome P450, which targets various exogenous xenobiotics, as well as pesticides. In our research, we successfully obtained the complete cDNA sequence of Apolygus lucorum's CPR (AlCPR) using reverse transcription PCR along with rapid amplification of cDNA ends technology. Bioinformatics analysis exhibited that the inferred amino acid sequence of AlCPR is characteristic of standard CPRs, featuring an N-terminal membrane anchor and three conserved FMN, FAD and NADP binding sites. Phylogenetic result revealed that AlCPR was positioned within the Hemiptera cluster, showing a close evolutionary relationship with the CPR of Cimex lectularius. The real-time quantitative PCR results demonstrated widespread expression of AlCPR across various life stages and tissues of A. lucorum, with the most prominent expression in adults and the abdominal region. Injecting double-stranded RNA of AlCPR only significantly increased the lambda-cyhalothrin susceptibility in lambda-cyhalothrin-resistant strain rather than the susceptible strain. These findings suggest a potential link between AlCPR and the P450-dependent defence mechanism against lambda-cyhalothrin in A. lucorum.

Porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) is an acute, highly contagious, and infectious disease caused by porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV). PEDV can affect pigs of all ages, with 50~100% mortality in neonatal piglets and substantial economic losses in the swine industry. In the present study, 347 fecal and intestinal samples were collected from seven regions in China during 2020-2022. A comprehensive molecular investigation of the spike (S) gene of PEDV strains was carried out, which included phylogenetic analysis of the obtained PEDV sequences. Epidemiological surveillance data indicate that the GIIc subgroup strains are widely distributed among pigs. A PEDV strain was successfully isolated from positive small intestine samples and identified through RT-PCR detection using specific N gene primers of PEDV, indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA), TEM analysis, genome sequencing, and full-length S gene analysis, named PEDV/SC/2022. RDP and SimPlot analysis showed that the isolate originated from the recombination of PEDV/AH2012 and PEDV/AJ1102. In conclusion, our findings contribute to the current understanding of PEDV epidemiology and provide valuable information for the control of PED outbreaks in China.

Controlling molecular self-assembly from organic solution evaporation is an important strategy for developing many functional materials and systems. In this work, it is demonstrated that 4-octyloxy-4'-cyanobiphenyl (8OCB) liquid crystals can be patterned into well-oriented stripes with very high micrometer-scale precision using a sandwich system through a dewetting method. The preparation temperature, concentration, and surface energy are combined to control the morphology and orientation of 8OCB microstripe arrays assisted by silicon micropillars. Microstripes prepared below the isotropic temperature were uniform, well-ordered, and showed high electricity. In addition, 8OCB molecules have a strong tendency toward antiparallel alignment, nearly standing up on the substrate with long axes parallel to the microstripe. Also, we point out the mechanism for the self-assembly process of 8OCB on the air-liquid and liquid-solid surface.

Objective: Antiviral medications for influenza could be ineffective due to the emergence of resistant influenza virus strains. Ruhao Dashi (RHDS) granules possess anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. The present study aimed to determine the efficacy of RHDS granules in treating influenza-infected mice and the mechanism underlying this treatment as well as its effect on the intestinal flora composition of the infected mice. Methods: The HPLC-UV method was used to identify the active components of RHDS granules. ICR mice were infected with influenza A virus (IAV) H1N1 subtype through a nasal drip. After the influenza mice model was successfully established, the pathological changes in the lungs were observed for 5 days after gavage treatment with 0.9% sterile saline and low, medium, and high doses (0.07, 0.14, and 0.28 g/mL, respectively) of RHDS granules. The serum levels of the cytokines IL-6 and TNF-α and sIgA were detected by ELISA. Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR and western blotting assay were performed to determine the expression levels of the tight junction (TJ) proteins claudin-1, occludin, and zonula occludens-1 (ZO-1) in colon tissues. Furthermore, 16S rRNA gene sequencing of feces samples was conducted to assess the effect of RHDS granules on the gut microbiota. Results: RHDS granules exerted a protective effect on the lung tissues of IAV-infected mice; moreover, the granules reduced the synthesis of proinflammatory cytokines and increased the relative expression levels of claudin-1, occludin, and ZO-1 in colon tissues. Furthermore, RHDS granule treatment increased the relative abundance of Lactobacillus, Akkermansia, and Faecalibaculum and decreased the relative abundance of Muribaculaceae; thus, RHDS granules could stabilize the intestinal microbiota to some extent. Conclusion: RHDS granules exert a therapeutic effect on IAV-infected mice probably by modifying the structural composition of their intestinal microbiota.

OBJECTIVE: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a prevalent autoimmune disorder that leads to chronic joint inflammation, deformity, disability, and systemic complications. This study aimed to analyze the clinical characteristics and synovial pathology of RA patients with synoviocyte detachment, and explore the factors associated with this phenomenon. METHODS: This was a retrospective cohort study included RA patients who underwent synovial biopsy at our center from April to September 2023. Demographic, clinical, laboratory, and synovial histological data were retrospectively collected from medical records at the time of joint synovial biopsy in patients. Microscopic examination of hematoxylin and eosin (HE)-stained synovial tissue sections categorized the samples into synoviocyte detachment and no-synoviocyte detachment groups. Clinical characteristics and synovial pathological changes were compared between the two groups, and the factors associated with synoviocyte detachment were explored through logistic regression analysis. RESULTS: Fifty-five RA patients were enrolled; 45 were females, and the mean age was 53.4 ± 11.8 years. Nine RA patients exhibited synoviocyte detachment. A total of 46 RA patients in the no-synoviocyte detachment group (15 with a normal lining layer and 31 with synovial cell proliferation) were included. Compared with the no-synoviocyte detachment group, the synoviocyte detachment group presented higher RF, ESR, CRP and DAS28-CRP levels (P < 0.05). The synoviocyte detachment group exhibited more prominent neovascularization (P < 0.05). ESR, DAS28-CRP and synovial neovascularization were risk factors associated with synoviocyte detachment in RA patients. CONCLUSION: RA patients with synoviocyte detachment exhibit elevated clinical disease activity, marked by pronounced synovial pathology featuring increased neovascularization and less inflammatory cell infiltration. A significant reduction in lymphocyte count compared with patients with synovial cell proliferation was also observed.

Introduction: This study aimed to explore serum HBV pre-genomic RNA (pgRNA) levels and its associated factors among HBV-infected patients in the real world. Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted from May 10, 2023, to January 15, 2024. Univariate logistic analysis for positive serum HBV pgRNA was performed first, and variables with statistical significance were included in a multivariate logistic model. A decreasing trend of serum HBV pgRNA and HBV DNA levels was also detected first by univariate logistic regression and then by multivariate logistic regression. Results: 482 patients were included in our analysis at baseline, and 191 patients were followed up. Multivariate logistic regression revealed that positive HBV DNA (AOR: 2.63, 95% CI: 1.46-4.75, P=0.001), ≥1000 hBsAg (AOR: 2.29, 95% CI: 1.08-4.89, P=0.03), positive HBeAg (AOR: 28.26, 95% CI: 15.2-52.55, P<0.001), and ALP (AOR: 1.01, 95% CI: 1.001-1.02, P=0.03) were positively correlated with positive HBV pgRNA at baseline. Two independent multivariate logistic regression models were constructed for the decreasing trend of serum HBV pgRNA and HBV DNA for the 191 follow-up patients. Results showed that the decreasing trend of HBV pgRNA was positively correlated with positive baseline HBV DNA (AOR: 4.60, 95% CI: 1.84-11.51, P=0.001), baseline HBsAg ≥1000 IU/mL (AOR: 8.74, 95% CI: 1.09-70.10, P=0.04), and HDL (AOR: 5.01, 95% CI: 1.28-19.66, P=0.02). The decreasing trend of HBV DNA was positively correlated with positive baseline HBV pgRNA (AOR: 3.80, 95% CI: 2.00-8.83, P<0.001) and AST (AOR: 1.06, 95% CI: 1.03-1.08, P<0.001). Conclusion: Our study revealed that HBV DNA, HBsAg, HBeAg, and ALP were significantly correlated with positive HBV pgRNA at baseline. The baseline HBV DNA, HBsAg, and HDL were significantly correlated with decreasing levels of HBV pgRNA. A decreasing trend of HBV DNA significantly correlated with patients' baseline HBV pgRNA and AST.

AIM: To examine the disparities in macular retinal vascular density between individuals with connective tissue disease-related interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD) and healthy controls (HCs) by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) and to investigate the changes in microvascular density in abnormal eyes. METHODS: For a retrospective case-control study, a total of 16 patients (32 eyes) diagnosed with CTD-ILD were selected as the ILD group. The 16 healthy volunteers with 32 eyes, matched in terms of age and sex with the patients, were recruited as control group. The macular retina's superficial retinal layer (SRL) and deep retinal layer (DRL) were examined and scanned using OCTA in each individual eye. The densities of retinal microvascular (MIR), macrovascular (MAR), and total microvascular (TMI) were calculated and compared. Changes in retinal vascular density in the macular region were analyzed using three different segmentation methods: central annuli segmentation method (C1-C6), hemispheric segmentation method [uperior right (SR), superior left (SL), inferior left (IL), and inferior right (IR)], and Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) methods [superior (S), inferior (I), left (L), and right (R)]. The data were analyzed using Version 9.0 of GraphPad prism and Pearson analysis. RESULTS: The OCTA data demonstrated a statistically significant difference (P<0.05) in macular retinal microvessel density between the two groups. Specifically, in the SRL and DRL analyses, the ILD group exhibited significantly lower surface density of MIR and TMI compared to the HCs group (P<0.05). Furthermore, using the hemispheric segmentation method, the ILD group showed notable reductions in SL, SR, and IL in the superficial retina (P<0.05), as well as marked decreases in SL and IR in the deep retina (P<0.05). Similarly, when employing the ETDRS method, the ILD group displayed substantial drops in superficial retinal S and I (P<0.05), along with notable reductions in deep retinal L, I, and R (P<0.05). In the central annuli segmentation method, the ILD group exhibited a significant decrease in the superficial retinal C2-4 region (P<0.05), whereas the deep retina showed a notable reduction in the C3-5 region (P<0.05). Additionally, there was an observed higher positive likelihood ratio in the superficial SR region and deep MIR. Furthermore, there was a negative correlation between conjunctival vascular density and both deep and superficial retinal TMI (P<0.001). CONCLUSION: Patients with CTD-ILD exhibits a significantly higher conjunctival vascular density compared to the HCs group. Conversely, their fundus retinal microvascular density is significantly lower. Furthermore, CTD-ILD patients display notably lower superficial and deep retinal vascular density in comparison to the HCs group. The inverse correlation between conjunctival vascular density and both superficial and deep retinal TMI suggests that detecting subtle changes in ocular microcirculation could potentially serve as an early diagnostic indicator for connective tissue diseases, thereby enhancing disease management.

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common degenerative joint disease, with articular cartilage degeneration as primary manifestation. Intra-articular injection of exogenous liposomal adenosine in mice knee has been shown to alleviate OA progression. However, the role of CD73, the rate-limiting enzyme of extracellular adenosine synthesis, in OA is still unknown. Methods: In this work, we explored the expression changes of adenosine-related molecules via bioinformatic analysis. In addition, the expression level of these molecules was detected in OA cartilage. We also conducted a case-control study to investigate the genetic variants of selected SNPs on genes encoded adenosine-related molecules. To further explore the function of CD73 in chondrocytes, we knocked down the expression of CD73 with small interfering RNA and overexpressed CD73 with the use of lentivirus, and detected the expression of markers for anabolism and catabolism in mouse primary chondrocytes with or without IL-1ß treatment. We also conducted in vivo experiments to explore the role of CD73 in OA. Results: We found that the expression of CD73 was upregulated in OA, and the variants of SNP rs2229523 (base A to G) on NT5E (the encoding gene of CD73) were significantly higher in OA population, which might cause the amino acid encoded by this SNP change from threonine to alanine. The original helix structure in the adjacent region of amino acid encoded by SNP rs2229523 would be deconstructed after its mutation. Furthermore, we found that CD73 promoting the expression of Col2a1 but suppressing the expression of Mmp13 expression in mouse primary chondrocytes under inflammatory environment. The overexpression of CD73 attenuated bone remodeling and alleviated cartilage degeneration in DMM mice. Moreover, the physical activities were also improved in DMM mice overexpressed CD73 with the use of adeno-associated virus. Conclusions: The variants of SNP rs2229523 (base A to G) on NT5E were significantly higher in OA population, and CD73 could alleviate OA by maintaining anabolism and suppressing catabolism of chondrocytes extracellular matrix. The Translational Potential of this Article: This work showed that CD73 might be one of the biological therapeutic targets of OA, which would provide a reference for future novel treatment strategy of OA.

Designing efficient catalysts for operating CO2 electroreduction in membrane electrode assembly (MEA) faces significant obstacles. Herein, we propose an asymmetrically coordinated Ni SAC featuring axial Br coordination at NiN4Br sites anchoring onto hollow Br/N co-doped carbon nanocages, achieved through a NaBr-assisted confined-pyrolysis strategy. The Ni-NBr-C exhibits a high CO Faradaic efficiency (FECO> 97%) over the current density range of 50 to 350 mA cm-2 in the MEA device. Furthermore, Ni-NBr-C shows a stable cell voltage of 2.66 ± 0.2 V while delivering a large current density of 350 mA cm-2 over an 85-hour long-term operation, demonstrating its potential for industrial-scale applications. Advanced characterization techniques and theoretical calculations reveal that the coordination and doping of Br enhance the intrinsic activity but also highlighted that the unique pore structure improves mass transfer efficiency.

BACKGROUND: Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is commonly used to treat early gastric cancer (EGC). The effects of Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection on ESD and the potential benefits of preoperative eradication of HP remain unclear. The study aims to evaluate the impact of HP infection on bleeding and lesion detection during ESD in patients with EGC. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed 634 consecutive patients who underwent ESD for EGC at our center between January 2018 and January 2023. Logistic regression was used to assess the impact of HP infection status on intraoperative bleeding and lesion detection rates. We developed a predictive model based on selected indicators and evaluated its performance using the ROC curve. RESULTS: HP-positive patients experienced a higher rate of intraoperative bleeding (28.8%) compared with HP-negative patients (8.9%) (P < 0.001). HP-positive patients also had longer procedure time (median: 58.5 vs. 50.0 min, P < 0.001) and postoperative hospital stays (median: 4.35 vs. 4.07 days, P = 0.036). Multivariate analysis identified HP-positive (OR = 4.84), multiple lesions (OR = 1.81), specimen size > 40 mm (OR = 3.67), and submucosal invasion (OR = 2.27) as independent risk factors for intraoperative bleeding. The predictive model achieved an AUC of 0.807 (95%CI 0.761-0.852), with a sensitivity of 72.1% and specificity of 75.9%. Preoperative HP eradication was associated with an increased rate of lesion detection (OR = 2.82). CONCLUSIONS: Eradicating HP before ESD in patients with EGC reduces intraoperative bleeding and improves lesion detection. Preoperative HP eradication is therefore recommended in patients with EGC.

The histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) is closely related to the pathogenesis of depression in epigenetic regulation. However, it remains unclear how HDAC6 expression changes in depression pathophysiology and whether it is a target for antidepressant treatment. Herein, we investigate the expression change of HDAC6 in major depressive disorder (MDD) and evaluate the efficacy of a novel HDAC6 inhibitor, PB200, using positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. PET imaging studies with an HDAC6 PET probe [18F]Bavarostat allied with in vitro experiments demonstrated significantly increased HDAC6 expression in the brains of MDD mice. To investigate if pharmacological inhibition of HDAC6 can exert antidepressant effects, a series of naphthyridine-based HDAC6 inhibitors were designed and synthesized, among which PB200 demonstrated high selectivity and inhibitory activity against HDAC6, favorable metabolic stability, and excellent brain uptake. Moreover, PB200 exhibited significant antidepressant effects by restoring abnormal HDAC6 expression level and alleviating neuroinflammation. These results imply that targeting HDAC6 shows promise as a therapeutic strategy for depression, and PB200 is a potential therapeutic option for treating MDD.

Colorectal cancer (CRC), with the incidence and mortality rising on a yearly basis, greatly threatens people's health. It is considered an important hallmark of tumorigenesis that aberrant glucose metabolism in cancer cells, particularly the Warburg effect. In CRC, the Warburg effect predominantly influences cancer development and progression via its involvement in the glycolytic pathway regarding cell metabolism. The critical mechanisms underlying this process include key glycolytic enzymes, transport proteins, regulatory molecules, and signaling pathways. Furthermore, targeting the reprogrammed glucose metabolism in cancer cells can be potentially used for CRC treatment. However, the mechanisms driving CRC onset and progression, especially in relation to glucose metabolism reprogramming, are not fully understood and represent an emerging field of research. The review aims at providing new insights into the role that glucose metabolism reprogramming plays in the progression of CRC progression together with its resistance to treatment. Ultimately, these insights strive to diminish the risks of CRC metastasis and recurrence.

OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to examine the utility of a combination of the modified Caprini score and D-dimer levels for the evaluation and management of lower extremity venous thrombosis following lung cancer surgery. The purpose was to offer insights for developing clinical intervention programs. METHODS: The study sample consisted of 224 patients who underwent surgery for lung cancer at the First Central Hospital of Baoding City. General patient data and D-dimer levels on the first day post-surgery were collected. The modified Caprini risk assessment score was calculated. All patients underwent ultrasonography of the lower limb veins before and after surgery to identify venous thrombosis in the lower limb veins. Differences in lower extremity venous thrombosis and D-dimer levels among patients in various modified Caprini score groups were compared and analyzed. RESULTS: Based on the modified Caprini risk assessment score, all patients were categorized into three groups: the low-risk, medium-risk, and high-risk groups. The groups did not differ significantly in terms of age, but the differences in the rates of lower extremity venous thrombosis in the low, intermediate, and high-risk Caprini risk groups (16.5%, 19.2%, and 37.1%, respectively) were statistically significant. Out of the total 224 patients, 47 (21%) were diagnosed with venous thromboembolisms post-surgery, and all of them had thrombosis of the intermuscular veins of the lower extremity. The difference in the modified Caprini risk assessment score between patients with and without lower extremity venous thrombosis was statistically significant (P = 0.035), as were the postoperative D-dimer levels (1.28 ± 1.64 vs. 2.69 ± 2.77, respectively; P < 0.05) between these two groups of patients. The modified Caprini risk assessment score showed an association with lower extremity venous thrombosis (r = 0.15, P = 0.56) with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.59. CONCLUSION: In this study, we found that combining the modified Caprini risk assessment score with D-dimer measurements enhanced the accuracy of assessing the severity of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This combination can be beneficial in evaluating thrombosis risk post-lung cancer surgery and holds significant clinical utility.

The burgeoning demand for materials with tunable photoluminescence properties for applications has necessitated the exploration of novel luminescent materials. This study presents the synthesis and characterization of a novel 0D organic-inorganic hybrid metal halide (OIHMH) single crystal, C6H14N2CdBr4, which exhibits intriguing luminescent properties upon Mn2+ doping. The introduction of single Mn2+ ions results in a dual-emission, with the unexpected emergence of a red emission peak at 627 nm, in addition to the conventional tetrahedral green emission at 525 nm. This dual-emission is attributed to the distinct inter-tetrahedral distances within the crystal structure of C6H14N2CdBr4 with varying distances between [CdBr4]2- tetrahedra, influencing the spatial distribution and interaction of the [MnBr4]2- tetrahedra. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy and theoretical calculations reveal the 627 nm and 525 nm emissions are attributed to the d-d transition of magnetic coupled Mn2+-Mn2+ pairs and isolated Mn2+ ions, respectively. This study not only advances the understanding of the luminescence mechanisms of Mn2+ but also paves the way for the development of tunable luminescent materials.

BACKGROUND: Recent studies have established a correlation between ADAMTSL2 (ADAMTS-like 2) and the development of various cancers. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive pan-cancer analysis in 37 cancer types and investigate its potential role in colon and rectal adenocarcinoma (COADREAD). METHOD: Pan-cancer and mutation data were sourced from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and analyzed using Sangerbox analysis platform. We explored the expression patterns and prognostic implications of ADAMTSL2, and investigated its relationships with tumor heterogeneity, stemness, immune checkpoint genes, immune cell infiltration, RNA modifications, and mutational profiles across different cancers. Additionally, with Ethics Committee approval, we conducted immunohistochemical (IHC) analysis on 120 COADEAD samples to evaluate ADAMTSL2 expression and its association with clinicopathological parameters. RESULTS: ADAMTSL2 expression was positively correlated with the hazard ratio of OS, DSS, DFI and PFI for ESCA and COADREAD. A negative correlation was observed between ADAMTSL2 expression and NEO levels in COAD. Gene alterations in ADAMTSL2 were observed, with a mutation frequency of 5.0% in COAD. There is a significant correlation between ADAMTSL2 expression and immune cell infiltration in a variety of cancers. The expression level of ADAMTSL2 protein was associated with T stage, N stage, M stage (p < 0.05). Kaplan‒Meier survival curves demonstrated that the high ADAMTSL2 group had a shorter OS time (p = 0.047) and progression free survival time (p = 0.026) than the low ADAMTSL2 group. CONCLUSION: In summary, we conducted a comprehensive pan-cancer analysis of ADAMTSL2 and we demonstrated that ADAMTSL2 may serve as a novel prognostic biomarker and immunotherapy target in COADREAD.

Leucine-rich pentatricopeptide repeat-containing protein (LRPPRC), signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3), and cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (CDK1) are promising therapeutic targets for cancer treatment. However, there is a lack of effective inhibitors of LRPPRC, STAT3, and CDK1 in clinic. Our previous study has proved that 5,7,4'-Trimethoxyflavone (TMF) is a novel inhibitor of LRPPRC/STAT3/CDK1. However, the extraction rate of TMF from Tangerine Peel is quite low, and the doses of TMF in cells and mice are rather high. Herein, structural modifications of TMF have led to two series of TMF derivatives including sulfonamide substituted at 3'-position (7a-m) and 3',8-position (11a-m). Among all compounds, 7e, 7k, 11e, and 11g exhibited as effective, broad-spectrum, and potent anticancer agents in vitro. Moreover, 7e, 7k, 11e, and 11g showed better antitumor effects than TMF and clinical used chemotherapy drug capecitabine in vivo with no obvious toxicity. Mechanism studies showed that 11g could bind to LRPPRC, STAT3, and CDK1 to disassociate the LRPPRC-JAK2-STAT3 and JAK2-STAT3-CDK1 complexes, resulting in suppression of JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway. These findings suggest that 11g may serve as a leading compound for cancer therapy as a triple-target (LRPPRC, STAT3, and CDK1) inhibitor.

In federated learning, secret sharing is a key technology to maintain the privacy of participants' local models. Moreover, with the rapid development of quantum computers, existing federated learning privacy protection schemes based on secret sharing will no longer be able to guarantee the data security of participants in the post-quantum era. In addition, existing privacy protection methods have the problem of high communication and computational overhead. Although the multi-stage secret sharing scheme proposed by Pilaram et al. is one of the effective solutions to the above problems, existing studies have proven the privacy leakage risk of this scheme. This paper firstly designs a new lattice-based multi-stage secret sharing scheme Improved-Pilaram to solve the security problem, which allows participants to use public vectors to reconstruct different secret values without changing the secret sharing. Based on Improved-Pilaram, this article proposes a post-quantum secure federated learning scheme PQSF. PQSF uses double masking technology to encrypt model parameters and achieves mask reconstruction through secret sharing. Since Improved-Pilaram is multi-stage, participants do not need to update their local secret shares frequently during training. Analysis and experimental results show that the PQSF proposed in this paper reduces the communication complexity between participants and reduces the computational overhead by about 20% compared with existing solutions.

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to investigate the association between biological aging and liver fibrosis in patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). MATERIALS AND METHODS: We analyzed NHANES 2017-2020 data to calculate phenotypic age. Hepatic steatosis and fibrosis were identified using controlled attenuation parameters (CAP), fatty liver index (FLI) and transient elastography (TE). The odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) for significant MASLD fibrosis were calculated using multivariate logistic regression, and subgroup analyses were performed. We explored the potential causal relationship between telomere length and liver fibrosis using Mendelian randomization (MR). Additionally, we used the expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) method and GSE197112 data to identify genes related to liver fibrosis and senescence. Finally, the APOLD1 expression was validated using GSE89632. RESULTS: Phenotypic age was associated with liver fibrosis occurrence in MASLD (OR = 1.08, 95% CI 1.05-1.12). Subgroup analyses by BMI and age revealed differences. For obese or young to middle-aged MASLD patients, phenotypic age is significantly associated with liver fibrosis. (OR = 1.14, 95% CI 1.10-1.18; OR = 1.07, 95% CI 1.01-1.14 and OR = 1.14, 95% CI 1.07-1.22). MR revealed a negative association between telomere length and liver fibrosis (IVW method: OR = 0.63288, 95% CI 0.42498-0.94249). The gene APOLD1 was identified as a potential target through the intersection of the GEO dataset and eQTL genes. CONCLUSIONS: This study emphasized the link between biological aging and fibrosis in young to middle-aged obese MASLD patients. We introduced phenotypic age as a clinical indicator and identified APOLD1 as a potential therapeutic target.

Jingdong 120-meter radio telescope (JRT) is poised to become the world's largest single-aperture fully steerable medium-low frequency radio telescope. However, like other large-aperture radio telescopes, the JRT is vulnerable to wind loads, which can cause structural deformation and pointing errors. Addressing this challenge requires the ability to predict dynamic winds in real-time. This study developed a wind pressure preprocessing and prediction model using sensor data collected from the Kunming 40-meter radio telescope (KRT), enabling real-time prediction of wind pressure on the telescope. The model employs adaptive noise and Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD) techniques to eliminate random noise from the original wind pressure data. Subsequently, wind pressure predictions are made using a Bidirectional Long Short-term Memory (BiLSTM) model. By conducting predictions under various stabilization conditions and conducting a thorough analysis of measurement data from five sensors, the study has achieved impressive results in predicting wind pressure on the KRT reflector surface. The proposed model demonstrates the lowest MAE, RMSE, and MAPE, while achieving the highest R 2 across various data sets. Where the average R 2 of the proposed model is 0.9392 at 45° pitch angle attitude and the RMSE, MAE and MAPE values are 1.4923, 1.2377 and 1.82% respectively. This model helps wind load monitoring of real-time wind pressure monitoring of the telescope surface, to study the effects of wind load on pointing accuracy. By adjusting the control parameters to reduce wind load interference, to ensure the high-precision work of a large radio telescope, such as JRT.
