RESUMO

Developing low-cost catalysts with high activity for the Hydrogen Evolution Reaction (HER) is a main challenge to reduce the dependence on precious metals while maintaining the catalytic activity. In this study, nickel-plated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Ni-MWCNTs) with a large number of active sites were selected, and Ni-MWCNTs electrocatalysts loaded with trace amounts of RuO2 nanoparticles were prepared by annealing treatment, which exhibited excellent HER performances in both acidic and alkaline media. The RuO2 nanoparticles loaded nickel-coated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (RuO2@Ni-MWCNTs) had a small electrochemical impedance spectrum (EIS) and a large electrochemically active surface area (ECSA). Notably, RuO2@Ni-MWCNTs with less than 1 % Ru content exhibited excellent catalytic activities in both acidic and alkaline solutions. The results showed that the overpotentials of RuO2@Ni-MWCNTs were 20.2 mV (alkaline) and 73.7 mV (acidic), respectively. After stabilization at 20 mA cm-2 for 90 h, the evaluation results showed that RuO2@Ni-MWCNTs could maintain their catalytic efficiency without significant degradation.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: Observational study suggested SGLT2 inhibitors might promote healthy aging. However, whether brain-related phenotypes mediate this association. We applied Mendelian randomization (MR) to investigate the effect of SGLT2 inhibition on chronological, biological age and cognition and explore the mediation effects of brain imaging-derived phenotypes (IDPs). METHODS: We selected genetic variants associated with both expression levels of SLC5A2 (GTEx and eQTLGen data; N=129 to 31,684) and HbA1c levels (UK Biobank; N=344,182) and used them to proxy the effect of SGLT2 inhibition. Aging related outcomes, including parental longevity (N=389,166) and epigenetic clocks (N=34,710), and cognitive phenotypes, including cognitive function (N=300,486) and intelligence (N= 269,867) were derived from genome-wide association studies. Two-step MR were conducted to explore the associations between SGLT2 inhibition, IDPs, and aging outcomes, cognition. RESULTS: SGLT2 inhibition was associated with longer father's attained age (years of life increase per SD (6.75 mmol/mol) reduction in HbA1c levels = 6.21, 95%CI 1.95 to 11.15), better cognitive function (beta = 0.17, 95%CI 0.03 to 0.31) and higher intelligence (beta = 0.47, 95%CI 0.19 to 0.75). Two-step MR identified two IDPs as mediators linking SGLT2 inhibition with chronological age (total proportion of mediation = 22.6%), where four and five IDPs were mediators for SGLT2 inhibition on cognitive function and intelligence respectively (total proportion of mediation = 61.6% and 68.6% respectively). CONCLUSIONS: Our study supported that SGLT2 inhibition increases father's attained age, cognitive function and intelligence, which was mediated through brain images of different brain regions. Future studies are needed to investigate whether similar effect could be observed for users of SGLT2 inhibitors.

RESUMO

To improve the low energy density, low conductivity, and poor cycling stability of NiCo2S4 in supercapacitors, a two-step hydrothermal method was used to prepare a composite material of NiCo2S4 and carbon nanosheets (NiCo2S4/CNs). The electrochemical tests revealed a high specific capacitance of 1576 F g-1 at 1 A/g for the composite, and the NiCo2S4/CNs//AC asymmetric supercapacitor showed a energy density of 49.7 Wh kg-1 at 818 W kg-1. This study confirmed the phase transformation of NiCo2S4 during charge/discharge in alkaline solution through ex-situ X-ray diffraction (ex-situ XRD) for the first time, and proposed a potential reaction pathway. Moreover, Density Functional Theory (DFT) confirmed that the NiCo2S4/CNs heterostructure enhances OH- adsorption/desorption on Ni and Co active sites and improves electronic conductivity. In conclusion, this study advances the application of transition metal sulfide in high-performance energy storage.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Fish oil (FO), a mixture of omega-3 fatty acids mainly comprising docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), has been recommended for patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and hypertriglyceridemia. However, its effects on lipidomic profiles and gut microbiota and the factors influencing triglyceride (TG) reduction remain unclear. METHODS: We conducted a 12-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 309 Chinese patients with T2D with hypertriglyceridemia (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT03120299). Participants were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive either 4 g FO or corn oil for 12 weeks. The primary outcome was changes in serum TGs and the lipidomic profile, and the secondary outcome included changes in the gut microbiome and other metabolic variables. FINDINGS: The FO group had significantly better TG reduction (mean [95% confidence interval (CI)]: -1.51 [-2.01, -1.01] mmol/L) compared to the corn oil group (-0.66 [-1.15, -0.16] mmol/L, p = 0.02). FO significantly altered the serum lipid profile by reducing low-unsaturated TG species and increasing those containing DHA or EPA. FO had minor effects on gut microbiota, while baseline microbial features predicted the TG response to FO better than phenotypic or lipidomic features, potentially mediated by specific lipid metabolites. A total of 9 lipid metabolites significantly mediated the link between 4 baseline microbial variables and the TG response to FO supplementation. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings demonstrate differential impacts of omega-3 fatty acids on lipidomic and microbial profiles in T2D and highlight the importance of baseline gut microbiota characteristics in predicting the TG-lowering efficacy of FO. FUNDING: This study was funded by the National Nature Science Foundation.

RESUMO

Designing highly efficient, stable, and pH-universal perovskites for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is urgently needed yet remains a grand challenge. Herein, a titanium-containing strontium ruthenate (SrTi0.5Ru0.5O3, STRO) is developed as an excellent HER electrocatalyst in a wide pH range. The introduction of Ti into SrRuO3 significantly reduces the size of STRO, endowing with a high reactivity that facilitates a deep surface-reconstruction during HER. Furthermore, Sr2+ leaching triggered reconstruction leads to STRO breaking into tiny nanoparticles accompanied by high-valence ruthenium (Ru) species reducing to metallic Ru. The generated active species, increased accessible sites, and improved electrical conductivity greatly boost HER. The reconstructed STRO displays remarkable HER activities with exceptional low overpotentials of 18, 24, and 55 mV at 10 mA cm-2 in 1 m KOH, 0.5 m H2SO4, and 1 m PBS, respectively, surpassing most perovskites reported previously and comparable to or even outperforming that of commercial Pt/C. Moreover, the STRO exhibits excellent stabilities over 200 h in alkaline and acidic media, superior to that of Pt/C. This work not only provides insights into structure reconstruction of perovskites during HER, but also opens new perspectives for developing high-efficiency and pH-universal electrocatalysts for future energy applications.

RESUMO

There is no evidence on the associations between persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and the incidence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the Chinese rural population. We aimed to investigate the individual and mixed effects of 22 POPs on the prevalence and incidence of CKD, and the joint effects of POPs and abnormal glucose metabolism as well as the modification effects of healthy lifestyle on these associations. A total of 2775 subjects, including 925 subjects with normal plasma glucose (NPG) and 925 subjects with prediabetes (PDM) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), were enrolled from the Henan Rural Cohort Study. Logistic regression and quantile g-computation were performed to assess the individual and mixed effects of POPs on the risk of CKD. Joint effects of POPs and abnormal glucose metabolism status, as well as the modification effects of lifestyle on CKD were assessed. After 3-year follow-up, an increment of ln-o,p'-DDT was related to an elevated risk of CKD prevalence. Positive associations of p,p'-DDE and ß-BHC with CKD incidence were observed (P < 0.05). In addition, participants with high levels of ∑POPs were associated elevated incidence risk of CKD (OR: 1.217, 95%CI: 1.008-1.469). One quartile increase in POPs mixture was associated with the increased incidence of CKD among T2DM patients (P < 0.05). Further, a higher risk of CKD was observed among PDM and T2DM patients with high levels of o,p'-DDT, p,p'-DDE, ß-BHC, and ∑POPs than NPG subjects with low levels of pollutants. In addition, interactive effects of ∑POPs and lifestyle score on CKD incidence were found. Individual and mixed exposure to POPs increased the prevalence and incidence of CKD, and glucose metabolic status exacerbated the risk of CKD resulting from such exposures. Further, the modifying effects of lifestyle were observed, highlighting the importance of precision prevention for high-risk CKD population and healthy lifestyle intervention measures.

RESUMO

Background: To investigate the prevalence of thyroid nodules among medical staff and health check-up population in a Level-A hospital (Primary-level hospital) in Jinan City and analyze its influencing factors. Methods: A total of 5812 cases from the two groups were screened. t-test and χ2 tests were used to analyze the differences in the prevalence of thyroid nodules. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors. Results: The average age of medical staff was (36.20±9.11) years old, and the total prevalence was 48.5%. The average age of the healthcare population was (57.89±12.51) years old, and the total prevalence rate was 63.9%, with statistical significance between the two groups (P<0.001 for all). A stratified analysis of the two groups showed that the prevalence increased with age, and the prevalence among medical workers of all ages was higher than that of the health population younger than 50 years of age. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that female sex (OR=1.646,95% CI: 1.315-2.060), older age (OR=1.384,95% CI: 1.265-1.514), and high BMI (OR = 1.199, 95% CI: 1.065-1.350) were risk factors for the disease among medical staff. In the health population, female sex (OR=0.799,95% CI: 0.644-0.992) and high TSH levels (OR = 0.918, 95% CI: 0.874-0.964) were protective factors, while older age (OR=1.634,95% CI: 1.525-1.751) was a risk factor. Conclusion: There are certain differences in the prevalence of thyroid nodules between the two groups. Age and occupation are important influencing factors. While age is uncontrollable, active regulation of emotional status caused by occupational factors has important clinical guiding significance for reducing the prevalence of thyroid nodules and reducing the social medical burden.

RESUMO

Nationwide estimates of the impact of common modifiable risk factors on mortality remain crucial. We aim to assess the influence of social determinants, lifestyle, and metabolic factors on mortality in 174,004 adults aged ≥40 years from the China Cardiometabolic Disease and Cancer Cohort (4C) Study. We reveal that 17 modifiable factors are independently associated with mortality, accounting for 64.8% of all-cause mortality, 77.4% of cardiovascular mortality, and 44.8% of cancer mortality. Low education emerges as the leading factor for both all-cause and cancer mortality, while hypertension is predominant for cardiovascular mortality. Moreover, low gross domestic product per capita and high ambient particulate matter with a diameter of <2.5 µm (PM2.5) air pollution account for 7.8% and 4.3% for all-cause mortality, respectively, using a different method. Gender-specific analyses reveal distinct patterns, with women's mortality primarily associated with social determinants and men exhibiting stronger associations with lifestyle factors. Targeted health interventions are essential to mitigate mortality risks effectively in China.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: This study aimed to evaluate the relationships of separate and mixed exposure of neonicotinoids on cardiometabolic risk at baseline and follow-up and its change over 3 years, and further explore whether inflammatory markers levels and platelet traits (PLT) mediate these relationships. METHODS: In this prospective cohort study from the Henan Rural Cohort Study, 2315 participants were involved at baseline, and 1841 participants completed cardiometabolic risk predictors determinations during the 3-year follow-up. Each neonicotinoid pesticide was normalized to imidacloprid (IMIeq) using the relative potency factor approach. Quantile-based g-computation (Qgcomp) regression was used to evaluate the effect of the mixtures of neonicotinoids mediation analysis was employed to explore whether inflammatory markers levels and platelet traits mediated these relationships. A two-sample mendelian randomization (MR) study was further used to causal association. RESULTS: Qgcomp regression revealed a statistically positive relationship between neonicotinoids mixture exposure and cardiometabolic risk score at baseline and follow-up over 3 years. Both neutrophils/monocytes and PLT were mediators in the relationship between IMIeq and cardiometabolic risk score at baseline and follow-up over 3 years. The causal risk effect of pesticide exposure were 2.50 (0.05, 4.95) and 5.24 (1.28, 9.19) for cardiometabolic risk indicators including insulin resistance and triglyceride, respectively. Nevertheless, there was no correlation discovered between pesticide exposure and other markers of cardiometabolic risk. CONCLUSION: Neonicotinoid insecticides exposure was connected to an increased cardiometabolic risk, especially in individuals with T2DM. Furthermore, inflammatory markers and PLT seem to be two vital mediators of these associations. Additionally, genetic evidence on pesticide exposure and cardiometabolic risk still needs to be validated by multiregional and multiethnic GWAS studies.

RESUMO

In order to expand the applicability of materials and improve their performance, the combined use of different materials has increasingly been explored. Among these materials, inorganic-organic hybrid materials often exhibit properties superior to those of single materials. Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are famous crystalline porous materials constructed by organic building blocks linked by covalent bonds. In recent years, the combination of COFs with other materials has shown interesting properties in diverse fields, and the composite materials of COFs and TiO2 have been investigated more and more. These two outstanding materials are combined through covalent bonding, physical mixing, and other methods and exhibit excellent performance in various fields, including photocatalysis, electrocatalysis, sensors, separation, and energy storage and conversion. In this Review, the current preparation methods and applications of COF-TiO2 hybrid materials are introduced in detail, and their future development and possible problems are discussed and prospected, which is of great significance for related research. It is believed that these interesting hybrid materials will show greater application value as research progresses.

RESUMO

The aspartate to alanine transaminase (AST/ALT) ratio indicates oxidative stress and inflammatory reactions related to the occurrence of diabetic retinopathy (DR). Currently, there are no reports on the correlation between AST/ALT ratio and DR. Hence, this study aimed to explore the relationship between AST/ALT ratio and DR. This cross-sectional study utilized data from the Metabolic Management Center of the First People's Hospital in City. In total, 1365 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) participated in the study, including 244 patients with DR and 1121 patients without DR. We collected the results of fundus photography, liver function, and other research data and grouped them according to tertiles of AST/ALT ratios. DR prevalence was the highest in the group with the highest AST/ALT ratio (22.12%, P = .004). Both univariate (OR = 2.25, 95% CI: 1.51-3.34, P < .001) and multivariable logistic regression analyses (adjusted for confounding factors) showed that the risk of DR increased by 36% when the AST/ALT ratio increased by 1 standard deviation (SD) (OR = 1.36, 95% CI: 1.16-1.59, P < .001), and 29.3% was mediated by the duration of diabetes. A sensitivity analysis confirmed the stability of the results. This study showed that an increase in AST/ALT ratio is an independent risk factor for DR.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: 17α-hydroxylase/17,20-lyase deficiency (17-OHD) is a rare subtype of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) caused by homozygous or compound heterozygous pathogenic variants in the CYP17A1 gene. PURPOSE: This study aimed to identify and characterize pathogenic variants in individuals with 17-OHD, and to classify and validate the pathogenicity of novel variants. METHODS: Variants were identified via targeted long-read sequencing (TLRS) of the entire CYP17A1 gene in enrolled 17-OHD patients. The American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics guidelines were employed to assess the pathogenicity of novel variants. A minigene splicing assay was utilized to determine the impact of variants on RNA splicing. RESULTS: This study encompassed 26 patients with 17-OHD, detecting two trans pathogenic variants per patient using the TLRS method. A total of 20 pathogenic variants in the CYP17A1 were identified, with variant c.985_987delinsAA being the most frequent (28/52 alleles), followed by variant c.1459_1467del (4/52 alleles). Five novel variants including c.280T>C, c.470T>A, c.636_637del, c.866A>G, and c.1095del, were classified as pathogenic/likely pathogenic ones according to ACMG criteria. The minigene assay revealed c.866A>G in exon 5 causes a frameshift due to a 104 base pair deletion, while c.470T>A generates two transcripts, with vast majority spliced like the wild-type, and a small fraction lack 35 base pairs in the 5' flank of exon 3. CONCLUSION: The TLRS can determine the cis/trans orientation of two distant variants. Five novel pathogenic variants were reported, broadening the spectrum of CYP17A1 pathogenic variant. The variant c.866A>G, located deep in exon, affects gene function through mechanisms of aberrant splicing.

RESUMO

Background: The triglyceride glucose (TyG) index has been associated with an increased risk in breast cancer. However, this association remains unclear among the Chinese population. This study aimed to investigate whether the TyG index is associated with the risk of prevalent breast cancer in Chinese women. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 142,184 women from the REACTION (Risk Evaluation of Cancers in Chinese Diabetic Individuals: A Longitudinal) Study, which recruited adults aged 40 years or older from 25 centers across mainland China between 2011 and 2012. The TyG index was calculated according to the formula: Ln (fasting triglycerides [mg/dL] × fasting glucose [mg/dL]/2). Multivariable-adjusted logistic regression models were used to evaluate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) regarding the associations between the TyG index and breast cancer. Results: Multivariable-adjusted logistic regression analysis showed that compared with the lowest quartile of the TyG index, the highest quartile of the TyG index was significantly associated with an increased risk of prevalent breast cancer, with an OR (95% CI) of 1.61 (1.19-2.17). In the stratified analysis, the association of each 1 SD increase in the TyG index with risk of prevalent breast cancer was more dominant in individuals with menarche at age 13-17, those who were postmenopausal, those with a history of breastfeeding, and those who had two to four children, with the ORs (95% CIs) of 1.35 (1.09-1.68), 1.27 (1.05-1.54), 1.26 (1.05-1.52), and 1.32 (1.08-1.62), respectively. Moreover, among those without discernible insulin resistance (homeostatic model assessment-insulin resistance [HOMA-IR] ≥2.5), hyperglycemia and dyslipidemia, each 1 SD increase in the TyG index was associated with a 1.36-fold increase in breast cancer risk, with an OR (95% CI) of 2.36 (1.44-3.87). Conclusion: The TyG index is significantly associated with the prevalent breast cancer risk among middle-aged and elderly Chinese women.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Hypothermic ischemia-reperfusion arrhythmia is a common complication of cardiothoracic surgery under cardiopulmonary bypass, but few studies have focused on this type of arrhythmia. Our prior study discovered reduced myocardial Cx43 protein levels may be linked to hypothermic reperfusion arrhythmias. However, more detailed molecular mechanism research is required. METHOD: The microRNA and mRNA expression levels in myocardial tissues were detected by real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). Besides, the occurrence of hypothermic reperfusion arrhythmias and changes in myocardial electrical conduction were assessed by electrocardiography and ventricular epicardial activation mapping. Furthermore, bioinformatics analysis, applying antagonists of miRNA, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, a dual luciferase assay, and pearson correlation analysis were performed to investigate the underlying molecular mechanisms. RESULTS: The expression level of novel-miR-17 was up-regulated in hypothermic ischemia-reperfusion myocardial tissues. Inhibition of novel-miR-17 upregulation ameliorated cardiomyocyte edema, reduced apoptosis, increased myocardial electrical conduction velocity, and shortened the duration of reperfusion arrhythmias. Mechanistic studies showed that novel-miR-17 reduced the expression of Cx43 by directly targeting Gja1 while mediating the activation of the PKC/c-Jun signaling pathway. CONCLUSION: Up-regulated novel-miR-17 is a newly discovered pro-arrhythmic microRNA that may serve as a potential therapeutic target and biomarker for hypothermic reperfusion arrhythmias.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: There have been rare data on letrozole for height improvement in girls. This study aimed to clarify the efficacy and safety of combination therapy with recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH), GnRHa, and letrozole in improving the height of girls with short stature and advanced bone age. METHODS: This was a hospital record-based retrospective study. Follow-up was conducted on girls with short stature who received treatment with rhGH, GnRHa, and letrozole in our hospital. The treatment group included a total of 29 participants. Before treatment, the mean age of the patients was 11.17 years, and the mean treatment duration was 17.31 months. The control group consisted of 29 short-statured girls who received rhGH/GnRHa treatment, with the mean age and treatment duration of 12.43 years and 16.59 months, respectively. RESULTS: The predicted adult heights (PAHs) before and after treatment were 155.38 and 161.32 cm (P < .001). The ΔPAH in the treatment group was 4 cm higher than that in the control group (5.85 vs 1.82 cm, P < .001). Significant differences were noted in the height standard deviation scores of bone age (P < .001) and chronological age (P = .003) before and after treatment. There was an increasing body mass index during therapy (P = .039). The height gain was 8.71 ± 4.46 cm, and the growth rate was 6.78 ± 3.84 cm per year. CONCLUSION: Combined treatment with GH, GnRHa, and letrozole can enhance the adult height and PAH in short-statured girls, and no significant side effects have been reported.

RESUMO

Borates have garnered a lot of attention in the realm of solid-state chemistry due to their remarkable characteristics, in which the synthesis of borates with isolated [BO3] by adding rare-earth elements is one of the main areas of structural design study. Five new mixed-metal Y-based rare-earth borates, Ba2ZnY2(BO3)4, KNa2Y(BO3)2, Li2CsY4(BO3)5, LiRb2Y(BO3)2, and RbCaY(BO3)2, have been discovered using the high-temperature solution approach. Isolated [BO3] clusters arranged in various configurations comprise their entire anionic framework, allowing for optical anisotropy tuning between 0.024 and 0.081 under 1064 nm. In this study, we characterize the relative placements of their [BO3] groups and examine how their structure affects their characteristics. The origin of their considerable optical anisotropy has been proven theoretically. This study unequivocally demonstrates that even a slight alteration to borates' anionic structure can result in a significant improvement in performance.

RESUMO

Objective: Both pulsatile gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) and combined gonadotropin therapy are effective to induce spermatogenesis in men with congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (CHH). This study aimed to evaluate the effect of pulsatile GnRH therapy on spermatogenesis in male patients with CHH who had poor response to combined gonadotropin therapy. Materials and methods: Patients who had poor response to combined gonadotropin therapy ≥ 6 months were recruited and shifted to pulsatile GnRH therapy. The rate of successful spermatogenesis, the median time to achieve spermatogenesis, serum gonadotropins, testosterone, and testicular volume were used for data analysis. Results: A total of 28 CHH patients who had poor response to combined gonadotropin (HCG/HMG) therapy for 12.5 (6.0, 17.75) months were recruited and switched to pulsatile GnRH therapy for 10.0 (7.25, 16.0) months. Sperm was detected in 17/28 patients (60.7%). The mean time for the appearance of sperm in semen was 12.0 (7.5, 17.5) months. Compared to those who could not achieve spermatogenesis during pulsatile GnRH therapy, the successful group had a higher level of LH60min (4.32 vs. 1.10 IU/L, P = 0.043) and FSH60min (4.28 vs. 1.90 IU/L, P = 0.021). Testicular size increased during pulsatile GnRH therapy, compared to previous HCG/ HMG therapy (P < 0.05). Conclusion: For CHH patients with prior poor response to one year of HCG/ HMG therapy, switching to pulsatile GnRH therapy may induce spermatogenesis.

RESUMO

Supercapacitors have the advantages of fast charging and discharging speeds, high power density, long cycle life, and wide operating temperature range. They are widely used in portable electronic equipment, rail transit, industry, military, aerospace, and other fields. The design and preparation of low-cost, high-performance electrode materials still pose a bottleneck that hinders the development of supercapacitors. In this paper, coal was used as the raw material, and the coal-based porous carbon electrode material was constructed using the iodine intercalation-assisted activation method and used for supercapacitors. The CK-700 electrode exhibits excellent charge storage performance in a 6 M potassium hydroxide (KOH) electrolyte, with a maximum specific capacitance of 350 F/g at a current density of 0.5 A/g. In addition, it has an excellent rate performance (310 F/g at 1 A/g) and cycle stability (capacitance retention up to 91.7 % after 30000 cycles). This work provides a method for realizing high-quality, high-yield and low-cost preparation of coal-based porous carbon, and an idea for improving the performance of supercapacitors.

RESUMO

Aging-related hypogonadism involves complex mechanisms in humans, predominantly relating to the decline of multiple hormones and senile gonads. Late-onset hypogonadism (LOH) and erectile dysfunction (ED) are the main manifestations in men, while premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) and menopause are the main forms in women. Anti-aging measures include lifestyle modification and resistance training, hormonal supplementation, stem cell therapy, metformin, and rapamycin. In this expert consensus, the mechanisms, efficacy, and side effects of stem cell therapy on aging gonadal function are reviewed. Furthermore, various methods of stem cell therapy, administered intravenously, intracavernously, and intra-ovarially, are exemplified in detail. More clinical trials on aging-related gonadal dysfunction are required to solidify the foundation of this topic.
