RESUMO

The transition toward hydrogen gas (H2) as an eco-friendly and renewable energy source necessitates advanced safety technologies, particularly robust sensors for H2 leak detection and concentration monitoring. Although palladium (Pd)-based materials are preferred for their strong H2 affinity, intense palladium-hydrogen (Pd-H) interactions lead to phase transitions to palladium hydride (PdHx), compromising sensors' durability and detection speeds after multiple uses. In response, this study introduces a high-performance H2 sensor designed from thiolate-protected Pd nanoclusters (Pd8SR16), which leverages the synergistic effect between the metal and protective ligands to form an intermediate palladium-hydrogen-sulfur (Pd-H-S) state during H2 adsorption. Striking a balance, it preserves Pd-H binding affinity while preventing excessive interaction, thus lowering the energy required for H2 desorption. The dynamic adsorption-dissociation-recombination-desorption process is efficiently and highly reversible with Pd8SR16, ensuring robust and rapid H2 sensing at parts per million (ppm). The Pd8SR16-based sensor demonstrates exceptional stability (50 cycles; 0.11% standard deviation in response), prompt response/recovery (t90 = 0.95 s/6 s), low limit of detection (LoD, 1 ppm), and ambient temperature operability, ranking it among the most sensitive Pd-based H2 sensors. Furthermore, a multifunctional prototype demonstrates the practicality of real-world gas sensing using ligand-protected metal nanoclusters.

RESUMO

Purpose: This study aimed to assess the structural validity of the Chinese version of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) among Chinese professional athletes and examine its test-retest reliability and convergent validity across different timeframes. Methods: 581 Chinese professional athletes participated. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted on the Chinese version of the PSQI. Test-retest reliability was assessed over 2 weeks, 1 week, and 2-3 days within a 1-month timeframe. Additional reliability analysis over a 2-day interval was conducted within a 1-week timeframe. Convergent validity was assessed using Chinese versions of the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), the Athlete Sleep Screening Questionnaire (ASSQ), and actigraphy. A 1-month tracking was conducted, with weekly completion of the PSQI using a one-week timeframe, supplemented by assessments in the second and fourth week using two-week and one-month timeframes. Relationships between weekly results and those over two weeks and one month examined, along with convergent validity, using sleep diary and actigraphy. Results: The PSQI exhibited a two-factor structure (sleep quality and sleep efficiency), with good model fit (CFI = 0.960, AGFI = 0.924, TLI = 0.925, RMSEA = 0.085). Test-retest reliability was satisfactory for intervals of one week or more (r = 0.721 ~ 0.753). Using a one-week timeframe, the total score and two dimensions exhibited good reliability (r = 0.769 ~ 0.881), but only the total score and sleep quality showed high correlations with ISI and ASSQ (r = 0.701 ~ 0.839). Throughout the tracking, monthly responses correlated well with the most recent weeks (r = 0.732 ~ 0.866). Conclusion: The PSQI demonstrates a two-factor structure in Chinese athletes, with sleep quality being predominant. Test-retest reliability within a one-month timeframe is unstable, suggesting a one-week timeframe performs better. Distinguishing between the two dimensions, employing shorter timeframes, and incorporating objective measures are recommended.

RESUMO

Under the background of comprehensively practicing the overall system concept of the "living community" in the new era, incorporating the carbon neutral development goal into the territorial spatial planning and construction and establishing the territorial spatial pattern and optimization strategy in line with the actual development of Gansu Province are of great significance for promoting the comprehensive green low-carbon transformation and high-quality development of regional economy and society. Taking counties in Gansu Province as an example, based on the perspective of carbon neutrality research, the land use carbon budget of 87 counties in Gansu Province in 2010, 2015, and 2021 was calculated and analyzed. GIS spatial analysis and social network analysis were used to further explore their spatial differentiation characteristics and the overall characteristics of the carbon emission spatial correlation network. At last, combined with the main function zoning, the low-carbon oriented land space optimization zoning was carried out, and differentiated low-carbon development strategies were proposed. The results were as follows: ① Carbon emissions in Gansu Province showed an upward trend, but the increase rate decreased, showing a spatial distribution of "high in the central and eastern part of the country, low in the southwest." Construction land was the main carbon source. The carbon uptake showed a spatial distribution of "high in the south and low in the north, high in the west and low in the east." Woodlands were the main carbon sinks. The net carbon emissions showed an increasing trend, and approximately 58.62% of the counties in the province were in a carbon imbalance situation. ② In 2021, the spatial network of county carbon emissions was closely related, showing a "core-edge" pattern. The Chenguan District and Qilihe District were in the core position of the network and received more correlation relationships in the network. The network contacts in Longzhong area were frequent, followed by the contacts in Longdongnan area. ③ Based on carbon emissions, carbon sequestration, and ecological carrying capacity coefficients and using the results of spatial correlation of social networks as role positions, the province was divided into four carbon-neutral sub-districts. At the same time, superimposed analysis of the main function zoning, the county area of the province was reconstructed into seven territorial space zones, and the differentiated regional low-carbon optimization development strategy was proposed for each zone.

RESUMO

Nineteen flavonoids were isolated from the fruits of Psoralea corylifolia L., including a novel flavanol (3) and three novel isoflavones (12-14). Their chemical structures were unequivocally determined through comprehensive spectral data analysis. The anti-proliferative effect of the isolated flavonoids was assessed in vitro using the MTT assay. Molecular docking and ELISA were employed to determine the inhibitory effects of the active compounds on ALK5. Isobavachalcone was found to inhibit TGF-ß1 induced EMT in A549 cells by Wound healing assay and Transwell chamber assay. Immunofluorescence assay and Western blot assay showed that IBC could inhibit cytoskeleton rearrangement, reduce the phosphorylation of ALK5, ERK, and Smad, down-regulate Snail expression, and up-regulate E-cadherin expression in TGF-ß1 induced A549 cells, thereby exerting the potential inhibitory effects on epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process in A549 cells. The findings presented herein establish a fundamental basis for investigating the anti-proliferative and anti-metastatic properties of psoralen flavonoids in human non-small cell lung cancer.

RESUMO

The aggressive nature of lung cancer is frequently accompanied by a high incidence of bone metastasis; however, proximal femoral metastasis from lung cancer is comparatively uncommon when compared to other malignancies. In this report, we present the case of a 53-year-old Asian male who presented with pain in the left thigh and back. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed severe bone destruction with involvement of adjacent soft tissue mass at the left thigh, exhibiting imaging findings that mimic osteosarcoma. Subsequent bone biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-mutated lung adenocarcinoma with bone metastasis. The patient achieved survival following administration of osimertinib and underwent surgery for femoral metastases without palliative surgery for lung cancer. Therefore, proximal femoral metastasis from EGFR-mutated lung adenocarcinoma should be considered as a differential diagnosis in patients suspected to have osteosarcoma. The imaging findings of proximal femoral metastasis from EGFR-mutated lung adenocarcinoma were presented, and their therapeutic management was discussed.

RESUMO

Transforming growth factor-ß (TGF-ß) signaling pathway serves a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer (CRC). However, the specific molecular mechanisms by which the TGF-ß signaling pathway regulates CRC are still not fully understood. In the present study, metabolomics and transcriptomics were used to screen for key metabolites and regulatory genes most related to the regulation of the TGF-ß signaling pathway in CRC. Additionally, reverse transcription-quantitative PCR, western blotting and Transwell assays were performed to assess the process of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Metabolomics analysis indicated that TGF-ß1 has an impact on purine metabolism, leading to an increase in the purine metabolite inosine. The increase of inosine is essential for facilitating EMT and cell migration in CRC cells. Furthermore, the integrated analysis of metabolomics and transcriptomics data revealed that TGF-ß1 induces the expression of laccase domain-containing 1 (LACC1), an enzyme involved in the regulation of inosine. Knockdown of LACC1 resulted in a reduction of TGF-ß1-induced alterations in inosine levels, EMT and cell migration in CRC cells. The results of the present study suggest that the TGF-ß signaling pathway is involved in the regulation of purine metabolism in CRC through the modulation of LACC1 expression. Furthermore, LACC1 appears to influence EMT and cell migration by elevating the levels of the purine metabolite inosine.

RESUMO

Osmanthus fragrans is an evergreen shrub with a pleasant fragrance and a wide range of applications in many fields. The condensed hydrolat obtained during the drying process of its fresh flowers was collected in a low-temperature vacuum environment and its sensory evaluation and volatile components were studied. The main aroma compounds in Osmanthus fragrans were dihydro-ß-ionone, nonanal, ß-cyclocitral, ß-ionone, benzaldehyde, α-ionone, and 6-methyl-5-hepten-2-one, whose contents were used as the main evaluation criteria, and the hydrolats obtained under different scenting and drying times were compared. This process can effectively collect the aroma components in Osmanthus fragrans and the optimal drying conditions were 50 °C for 5 h. The hydrolat was used to provide the scent of osmanthus black tea, which had a fresher and mellower taste, while the fragrance of osmanthus was abundant. These results show that osmanthus hydrolat can be used to provide the scent of floral black tea. RESUMO

Acovenosigenin A ß-glucoside (AAG) is a cardiac glycoside derived from Streptocaulon juventas (Lour.) Merr, which exhibited the potential in treating lung cancer in our previous research. However, the action mechanism remains unclear. In this research, JAK2-STAT3 signaling pathway was predicted to be the critical regulation pathway based on the integrative analysis of transcriptome and proteome. Western blotting and qPCR assays were performed to identify that AAG can regulate JAK2-STAT3 signaling pathway and its downstream genes, such as c-Myc, Survivin, Cyclin B1, CDK1, Bcl-2. And this action of AAG depended on the suppression of STAT3 phosphorylation and its nuclear translocation through the experiments of Immunofluorescence, transient transfection and cryptotanshinone treatment. Additionally, AAG was discovered to mediate the JAK2-STAT3 pathway in IL-6-driven A549 and H460 cells, which in turn inhibited cell proliferation, promoted mitochondria-related apoptosis, and arrested the cell cycle progression. By molecular docking analysis, CETSA and SIP experiments, the protein of GP130 was identified as the specific target of AAG in A549 and H460 cells. Further studies suggested that AAG inhibited JAK2-STAT3 pathway and its downstream genes by targeting GP130 in nude mice xenograft model in vivo. This research presented that AAG exhibits the promising potential in the treatment of NSCLC.

RESUMO

The movement of ions along the pressure-driven water flow in narrow channels, known as downstream ionic transport, has been observed since 1859 to induce a streaming potential and has enabled the creation of various hydrovoltaic devices. In contrast, here we demonstrate that proton movement opposing the water flow in two-dimensional nanochannels of MXene/poly(vinyl alcohol) films, termed upstream proton diffusion, can also generate electricity. The infiltrated water into the channel causes the dissociation of protons from functional groups on the channel surface, resulting in a high proton concentration inside the channel that drives the upstream proton diffusion. Combined with the particularly sluggish water diffusion in the channels, a small water droplet of 5 µl can generate a voltage of ~400 mV for over 330 min. Benefiting from the ultrathin and flexible nature of the film, a wearable device is built for collecting energy from human skin sweat.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Under fasting conditions, the pathway converting gluconeogenesis precursors into muscle glycogen becomes crucial due to reduced glycogen reserves. However, there is limited research on skeletal muscle gluconeogenesis and the impact of fasting on gluconeogenic gene expression. METHODS: Sheep fetal skeletal muscle cells cultured in vitro were used to study the effects of varying lactic acid concentrations (0 to 30 mM) and 2.5 mM glucose on the expression of gluconeogenesis-related genes after 6 h of fasting. The effects on mRNA and protein expression of key genes involved in skeletal muscle gluconeogenesis were measured by quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), immunofluorescence, and western blotting at 48 h. RESULTS: Fasting increased the expression of key gluconeogenic genes, fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase 2 (FBP2), glucose-6-phosphatase 3 (G6PC3), pyruvate kinase M (PKM), monocarboxylate transporter1 (MCTS1), glucose transporter type 4 (GLUT4), pyruvate carboxylase (PC), and lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA). The mRNA levels of FBP2, G6PC3, and MCTS1 significantly decreased with glucose addition. Additionally, 10 mM lactic acid significantly promoted the expression of FBP2, PC, MCTS1, LDHA, GLUT4, and PKM while inhibiting phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) expression. At the protein level, 10 mM lactic acid significantly increased FBP2 and PKM protein expression. CONCLUSIONS: This study shows that fasting regulates key gluconeogenic gene expression in sheep skeletal muscle cells and highlights the role of lactic acid in inducing these gene expressions.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to compare the difference in perioperative outcomes and prognosis between neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy (nICT) and neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) for locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (LA-ESCC). METHODS: The LA-ESCC patients receiving nICT or nCRT were identified from a prospectively maintained database at Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University between Jan 2018 and March 2022. Propensity score matching (PSM) was performed to balance the two groups. RESULTS: A total of 124 patient pairs were enrolled in the final analysis. The complete pathological response rate (20.2% vs. 29.0%, p=0.140) was similar in the two groups while the lower major pathological response rate (44.4% vs. 61.3%, p=0.011) was observed in the nICT group. nICT was associated with a lower rate of adverse events (42.7% vs. 55.6%, p=0.047) without additional postoperative complications (38.7% vs. 35.5%, p=0.693). The nICT group had lower distant metastasis (6.5% vs. 16.1%, p=0.027) and overall recurrence (11.3% vs. 23.4%, p=0.019) in the postoperative 1 year. Also, nICT was associated with better progression-free survival (HR=0.50; 95% CI: 0.32-0.77; p=0.002). Cox proportional hazard analysis showed that nICT (univariable: HR=0.55; 95% CI: 0.37-0.82; p=0.003; multivariable: HR=0.44; 95% CI: 0.29-0.65; p<0.001) was one of the independent prognostic factors for progression-free survival. The two groups had similar overall survival (HR=0.62; 95%CI: 0.36-1.09; p=0.094) at the latest follow-up. CONCLUSION: This retrospective study showed that nICT was safe and effective for LA-ESCC patients. Further verification is needed in the randomized controlled trials.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Early identification of malignant biliary strictures (MBS) is challenging, with up to 20% classified as indeterminants after preliminary testing and tissue sampling with endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). We aimed to evaluate the use of methylated DNA markers (MDM) from biliary brushings to enhance MBS detection in a prospective cohort. METHODS: Candidate MDMs were evaluated for their utility in MBS diagnosis through a series of discovery and validation phases. DNA was extracted from biliary brushing samples, quantified, bisulfite-converted, and then subjected to methylation-specific Droplet Digital Polymerase Chain Reaction (ddPCR).  Patients were considered to have no malignancy if the sampling was negative and there was no evidence of malignancy after 1 year or definitive negative surgical histopathology. RESULTS: Fourteen candidate MDMs were evaluated in the discovery phase, with top-performing and new markers evaluated in the technical validation phase. The top four MDMs were TWIST1, HOXA1, VSTM2B, and CLEC11A, which individually achieved AUC values of 0.82, 0.81, 0.83, and 0.78, respectively, with sensitivities of 59.4%, 53.1%, 62.5%, and 50.0%, respectively, at high specificities for malignancy of 95.2-95.3% for the final biologic validation phase. When combined as a panel, the AUC was 0.86, achieving 73.4% sensitivity and 92.9% specificity, which outperformed cytology and fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH). CONCLUSIONS: The selected methylated DNA markers demonstrated improved performance characteristics for the detection of MBS compared to cytology and FISH. Therefore, MDMs should be considered viable candidates for inclusion in diagnostic testing algorithms..

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Existing models do poorly when it comes to quantifying the risk of Lymph node metastases (LNM). This study aimed to develop a machine learning model for LNM in patients with T1 esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). METHODS AND RESULTS: The study is multicenter, and population based. Elastic net regression (ELR), random forest (RF), extreme gradient boosting (XGB), and a combined (ensemble) model of these was generated. The contribution to the model of each factor was calculated. The models all exhibited potent discriminating power. The Elastic net regression performed best with externally validated AUC of 0.803, whereas the NCCN guidelines identified patients with LNM with an AUC of 0.576 and logistic model with an AUC of 0. 670. The most important features were lymphatic and vascular invasion and depth of tumor invasion. CONCLUSIONS: Models created utilizing machine learning approaches had excellent performance estimating the likelihood of LNM in T1 ESCC.

RESUMO

Engaging in chasing, where an actor actively pursues a target, is considered a crucial activity for the development of social skills. Previous studies have focused predominantly on understanding the neural correlates of chasing from an observer's perspective, but the neural mechanisms underlying the real-time implementation of chasing action remain poorly understood. To gain deeper insights into this phenomenon, the current study employed functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) techniques and a novel interactive game. In this interactive game, participants (N = 29) were tasked to engage in chasing behavior by controlling an on-screen character using a gamepad, with the goal of catching a virtual partner. To specifically examine the brain activations associated with the interactive nature of chasing, we included two additional interactive actions: following action of following the path of a virtual partner and free action of moving without a specific pursuit goal. The results revealed that chasing and following actions elicited activation in a broad and overlapping network of brain regions, including the temporoparietal junction (TPJ), medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC), premotor cortex (PMC), primary somatosensory cortex (SI), and primary motor cortex (M1). Crucially, these regions were found to be modulated by the type of interaction, with greater activation and functional connectivity during the chasing interaction than during the following and free interactions. These findings suggested that both the MNS, encompassing regions such as the PMC, M1 and SI, and the mentalizing system (MS), involving the TPJ and mPFC, contribute to the execution of online chasing actions. Thus, the present study represents an initial step toward future investigations into the roles of MNS and MS in real-time chasing interactions.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Lumbar degenerative conditions are a major cause of back pain and disability in individuals aged 45 and above. Gait analysis utilizes sensor technology to collect movement data, aiding in the evaluation of various gait aspects like spatiotemporal parameters, joint angles, neuromuscular activity, and joint forces. It is widely used in conditions such as cerebral palsy and knee osteoarthritis. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of 3D gait analysis in evaluating surgical outcomes and postoperative rehabilitation for lumbar degenerative disorders. METHODS: A prospective self-controlled before-after study (n = 85) carried out at our Hospital (Sep 2018 - Dec 2021) utilized a 3D motion analysis system to analyze gait in patients with lumbar degenerative diseases. The study focused on the multifidus muscle, a crucial spinal muscle, during a minimally invasive lumbar interbody fusion surgery conducted by Shandong Weigao Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Pre- and postoperative assessments included time-distance parameters (gait speed, stride frequency, stride length, stance phase), hip flexion angle, and stride angle. Changes in 3D gait parameters post-surgery and during rehabilitation were examined. Pearson correlation coefficient was employed to assess relationships with the visual analog pain scale (VAS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), and Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) scores. Patient sagittal alignment was evaluated using "Surgimap" software from two types of lateral radiographs to obtain parameters like pelvic incidence (PI), pelvic tilt (PT), sacral slope (SS), lumbar lordosis (LL), intervertebral space height (DH), posterior height of the intervertebral space (PDH) at the operative segment, and anterior height of the intervertebral space (ADH). RESULTS: By the 6th week post-operation, significant improvements were observed in the VAS score, JOA score, and ODI score of the patients compared to preoperative values (P < 0.05), along with notable enhancements in 3D gait quantification parameters (P < 0.05). Pearson correlation analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between improvements in 3D gait quantification parameters and VAS score, JOA score, and ODI value (all P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: 3D gait analysis is a valuable tool for evaluating the efficacy of surgery and rehabilitation training in patients.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to investigate the clinical value and prognostic significance of the alanine aspartate aminotransferase-to-lymphocyte ratio index (ALRI) in patients diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). METHODS: Clinical indices of patients with AMI were collected from the Medical Information Mark for Intensive Care (MIMIC) III database and Wuhan Sixth Hospital. Cox regression analysis was used to explore whether ALRI was a risk factor for a worse prognosis in patients with AMI, and a nomogram including ALRI was created to estimate its predictive performance for 28-day mortality. RESULTS: Based on clinical data from the MIMIC-III database, we found that a high ALRI was closely associated with a variety of clinical parameters. It was an important risk factor for 28-day survival in patients with AMI (HR = 5.816). ALRI had a high predictive power for worse 28-day survival in patients with AMI (area under the curve [AUC] = 0.754). Additionally, we used clinical data from the Wuhan Sixth Hospital to verify the predictive power of ALRI in patients with AMI, and a high level of ALRI remained an independent risk factor for worse survival in patients with AMI (HR = 4.969). The AMI nomogram, including ALRI, displayed a good predictive performance for 28-day mortality in both the MIMIC-III (AUC = 0.826) and Wuhan Sixth Hospital cohorts (AUC = 0.795). CONCLUSION: The ALRI is closely related to the survival outcomes of patients with newly diagnosed AMI, indicating that it could serve as a novel biomarker for risk stratification such patients.

RESUMO

Achieving high-temperature superlubricity is essential for modern extreme tribosystems. Solid lubrication is the sole viable alternative due to the degradation of liquid ones but currently suffers from notable wear, instability, and high friction coefficient. Here, we report robust superlubricity in MoS2/graphene van der Waals heterostructures at high temperatures up to ∼850 K, achieved through localized heating to enable reliable friction testing. The ultralow friction of the MoS2/graphene heterostructure is found to be notably further reduced at elevated temperature and dominantly contributed by the MoS2 edge. The observation can be well described by a multi-contact model, wherein the thermally activated rupture of edge-contacts facilitates the sliding. Our results should be applicable to other van der Waals heterostructures and shed light on their applications for superlubricity at elevated temperature.

RESUMO

Using ultrafast broad-band transient absorption (TA) spectroscopy of photoexcited MAPbBr3 thin films with probe continua in the visible and the mid- to deep-ultraviolet (UV) ranges, we capture the ultrafast renormalization at the fundamental gap at the R symmetry point of the Brillouin zone (BZ) and a higher energy gap at the M symmetry point. Advanced global lifetime analysis and lifetime density distribution analysis are applied to extract quantitative information. Our work confirms the similarity of the response at both high-symmetry points, which indicates a band edge renormalization that rises within the instrument response function (IRF, ∼250 fs) and decays in ca. 400-600 fs, undergoing an energy red shift of 90-150 meV. The reported time scale corresponds to the decay of free carriers into neutral excitons. The ability to monitor different high-symmetry points in photoexcited perovskites opens exciting prospects for the characterization of a large class of materials and for photonic applications.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of TLK2 expression regulated by miR-21 on proliferation and apoptosis of acute myeloid leukemia cells. METHODS: Seventy patients with AML admitted to our hospital from January 2019 to July 2022 were selected, while 30 patients with iron deficiency anemia were selected as the control group. Bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMNCs) of the patients were obtained using Ficoll density gradient centrifugation. RT-qPCR was used to determine the expression levels of miR-21 and TLK2 mRNA in BMMNCs. Mimics-miR-21, mimics-NC, inhibitor-miR-21, inhibitor-NC and NC were transfected into HL-60 cells using liposome-mediated transfection technology. CCK-8 method was used to determine the activity of transfected HL-60 cells after treatment with cytarabine. The apoptosis rate of HL-60 transfected cells was determined by TUNEL method. The expression of TLK2 mRNA in HL-60 cells transfected with inhibitor-miR-21 was determined by RT-qPCR. RESULTS: The relative expression levels of miR-21 and TLK2 mRNA in BMMNCs of AML patients were significantly higher than those of controls (both P < 0.05). After HL-60 cells were treated with cytarabine, both the cell activity of inhibitor-miR-21 group and mimics-miR-21 group decreased significantly with the increase of cytarabine concentration (both P < 0.05). However, at each concentration point of cytarabine, the cell activity of inhibitor-miR-21 group was lower than that of control group (P < 0.05), while mimics-miR-21 group was higher than control group (P < 0.05). After HL-60 cells were treated with cytarabine, the apoptosis rate of inhibitor-miR-21 group was significantly increased (P < 0.05), while that of mimics-miR-21 group was significantly decreased (P < 0.05). After HL-60 cells were treated with inhibitor-miR-21, the relative expression of TLK2 mRNA decreased significantly (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: miR-21 is highly expressed in AML patients, which may promote the apoptosis of AML cells by inhibiting the expression of TLK2.
