RESUMO

The aerosol particle number size distribution(PNSD) is of great importance in calculating atmospheric radiation and optics. It can effectively supplement the inadequate observation of PNSD using the widely known aerosol mass concentration (PM2.5) measurement to invert PNSD. It would be valuable for research that needs PNSD data, like atmospheric visibility calculation. This paper created a PNSD inversed method based on the statistics and parameterization of the dry aerosol PM2.5 and PNSD dataset from the Guangzhou urban site's simultaneous measurements from November 2014 to January 2015. The inversed results appeared good in the accumulation mode, whereas more differences showed with higher PM2.5 loading. The applicability and stability of this method makes it preferable. It would provide advanced technical support for the visibility calculation and application in PRD.

RESUMO

Background. To explore the correlation between the Arg399Gln polymorphism and susceptibility to esophageal cancer in Korean and Han Chinese individuals in Harbin, China, and its potential interaction with alcohol consumption. Methods. This prospective study included 203 patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma; 88 were of Korean descent and 115 were of Han Chinese descent. A group of healthy controls included 105 participants of Korean descent and 105 of Han Chinese descent. Genotyping of the Arg399Gln locus of XRCC1 was performed by PCR-RFLP. Results. The allelic and genotypic frequencies were not significantly different between individuals with esophageal cancer and controls or between individuals of Korean and Han Chinese descent (P > 0.05). However, when individuals with the wild-type Arg/Arg genotype also consumed alcohol, the risk of esophageal cancer was lower (OR = 3.539; 95% CI = 2.039-6.142; P < 0.05). Conclusions. The XRCC1 Arg399Gln polymorphism does not appear to be associated with esophageal cancer in individuals of Korean or Han Chinese descent in Harbin, China. However, alcohol consumption may decrease the risk of esophageal cancer in persons with the wild-type genotype.

RESUMO

Brassica napus seed is a lipid storage organ containing approximately 40% oil, while its leaves contain many kinds of lipids for many biological roles, but the overall amounts are less than in seeds. Thus, lipid biosynthesis in the developing seeds and the leaves is strictly regulated which results the final difference of lipids. However, there are few reports about the molecular mechanism controlling the difference in lipid biosynthesis between developing seeds and leaves. In this study, we tried to uncover this mechanism by analyzing the transcriptome data for lipid biosynthesis. The transcriptome data were de novo assembled and a total of 47,216 unigenes were obtained, which had an N50 length and median of 1271 and 755 bp, respectively. Among these unigenes, 36,368 (about 77.02%) were annotated and there were 109 up-regulated unigenes and 72 down-regulated unigenes in the developing seeds lipid synthetic pathway after comparing with leaves. In the oleic acid pathway, 23 unigenes were up-regulated and four unigenes were down-regulated. During triacylglycerol (TAG) synthesis, the key unigenes were all up-regulated, such as phosphatidate phosphatase and diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase. During palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid, stearic acid, linoleic acid and linolenic acid synthesis in leaves, the unigenes were nearly all up-regulated, which indicated that the biosynthesis of these particular fatty acids were more important in leaves. In the developing seeds, almost all the unigenes in the ABI3VP1, RKD, CPP, E2F-DP, GRF, JUMONJI, MYB-related, PHD and REM transcript factor families were up-regulated, which helped us to discern the regulation mechanism underlying lipid biosynthesis. The differential up/down-regulation of the genes and TFs involved in lipid biosynthesis in developing seeds and leaves provided direct evidence that allowed us to map the network that regulates lipid biosynthesis, and the identification of new TFs that are up-regulated in developing seeds will help us to further elucidate the lipids biosynthesis pathway in developing seeds and leaves.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To verify the feasibility of electroacupuncture analgesia applied to gynecologic outpatient operation. METHODS: Two hundred patients were randomly divided into an electroacupuncture analgesia group and an intravenous anesthesia group, 100 cases in each group. Operation types included artificial abortion, diagnostic curettage and remove of intrauterine divice. The electroacupuncture analgesia group was treated with electroacupuncture at bilateral Hegu (LI 4) and Neiguan (PC 6), and the routine gynecologic outpatient operation was performed under patients' waking state. The intravenous anesthesia group was treated with routine gynecologic outpatient operation after intravenous injection of fentanyl and propofol. RESULTS: The excellent rate and the effective rate of analgesia were 88.0% (88/100) and 100.0% (100/100) in the electroacupuncture analgesia group, and 94.0% (94/100) and 100.0% (100/100) in the intravenous anesthesia group, with no statistically significant differences between the two groups (all P > 0.05). There was no adverse reaction in the electroacupuncture anesthesia group, but 11 cases of adverse reactions in the intravenous anesthesia group. CONCLUSION: Electroacupuncture analgesia can effectively alleviate the pain during gynecologic outpatient operation and it is simple and safe without adverse reactions.

RESUMO

Maternal behaviors of sows around parturition are important for survival of newborn offspring. Failure to establish normal maternal bonds such as maternal infanticide and crushing often occurs in some individuals. It causes both significant economic losses to the pig industry and severe problems of piglet welfare. Prostaglandin F2-alpha not only can stimulate the nest-building behavior of sows before parturition but also plays an important role in reproductive process and maternal behavior through protein FP encoded by the prostaglandin F receptor gene (PTGFR) as its receptor. In this study, genetic variation and association study of PTGFR gene with nest-building behavior, maternal infanticide, and crushing behavior was carried out in a White Duroc x Erhualian resource population. As a result, five synonymous mutations were identified on exon 1 and exon 2. Exon 1 g .250 A>G, Exon 1 g.619 G>A and Exon 2 g.483 T>C were chosen for genotyping in individuals of F0, F1 and 289 F2 sows. Family-based transmission disequilibrium test (TDT) demonstrated that there were no significant associations of 3 SNPs and haplotypes of PTGFR gene with sow nest-building, maternal infanticide and crushing behavior (P > 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that PTGFR gene is not the causative candidate gene for sow maternal behaviors.

RESUMO

The title complex, [Co(C(15)H(11)N(3))(2)](C(4)N(3))(2), is built up from discrete [Co(terpy)(2)](2+) cations (terpy is 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine) and [C(CN)(3)](-) anions. In the cation, the Co(II) atom is coordinated by two terpy mol-ecules, giving a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The tricyano-methanide anions are not directly coordinated to the Co(II) atom, but some weak C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds involving the terminal N atoms of the tricyaomethanide ions and the terpyridine H atoms link anions and cations building a three-dimensional network.

RESUMO

AIM: To explore the relationship between serum p53 antibodies (p53-Abs) and clinicopathological characteristics and therapeutic effect in patients with esophageal carcinoma (EC), and to investigate sequential changing regularity of serum p53-Abs after radiotherapy. METHODS: The serum p53-Ab levels were detected in 46 EC patients and 30 healthy adults by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The blood samples were collected on the day before radiotherapy and on the administration of an irradiation dose of 20 Gy/10 f/12 d, 40 Gy/20 f/24 d and 60 Gy/30 f/36 d after radiotherapy. RESULTS: The level and positive rate of serum p53-Abs in EC patients were significantly higher than those in normal individuals (P<0.05). Serum anti-p53 antibodies were positive in 18 of 46 EC patients (39.1%). The positive rate of p53-Abs in EC was related to histological grade, disease stage and lymph node metastasis (P<0.05), but it was not significantly related to sex, age and to the size and site of tumor. The level and positive rate of p53-Abs had significant differences between before radiotherapy and after administration of an irradiation dose of 40 Gy/20 f/24 d and 60 Gy/30 f/36 d (P<0.05 or P<0.01). The positive rate of p53-Abs in EC patients with effect was significantly lower than that in those without effect after radiotherapy (P<0.0001). CONCLUSION: Detection of serum p53-Abs is helpful to the diagnosis of esophageal carcinoma. Monitoring for sequential change of serum p53-Abs before and after radiotherapy in patients with esophageal carcinoma is also useful to evaluate the response to the treatment and prognosis of the patients.

RESUMO

Analysis method for TiO2 nanoparticles in water and fish samples was set up using ICP-AES after dissolved by solution of sulphuric acid and ammonium sulphate. Meanwhile bioaccumulation of TiO2 nanoparticles was assessed by tests exposing carp (Cyprinus carpio)to TiO2 nanoparticles suspensions. The relative standard deviation (RSD) for water sample of 20.0 mg/L TiO2 is 4.53%, and the recoveries of TiO2 nanoparticles in water and fish samples are raging from 94% - 104% and 90% - 103%, which could ensure accurate measurement of TiO2 nanoparticles. TiO2 nanoparticles have a significant bioaccumulation by the carp, and TiO2 nanoparticles concentrations in carp exposed to 3 mg/L and 10 mg/L TiO2 nanoparticles suspensions for 25 days are 2.1 mg/g and 5.8 mg/g respectively, and the BCF values at equilibrium are 675.5 and 595.4 respectively. Significant As and TiO2 accumulation occurs in viscus and gills of fish, while bioaccumulation of TiO2 nanoparticles in muscle is relative small.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To determine the level of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) antibody in the hypertensive patients with cerebral infarction and explore the role of plasma antibody against HSP70 in the pathogenesis of cerebral infarction and its relationship to the brain tissue damage. METHODS: One hundred patients with CT or MRI confirmed cerebral infarction were enrolled in the study, in whom 64 were male, and 36 female. Among them, 67 patients were having hypertension and 33 with normal blood pressure. One hundred healthy individuals, including 58 male and 42 female, served as the control group. The level of plasma HSP70 antibody was determined with Western blot-enzyme linked immunoadsorbent assay (ELISA) technique. RESULTS: Patients with cerebral infarction had a significantly higher incidence (69%) of antibodies to HSP70 compared to the low incidence (13%) of antibodies to HSP70 in the controls. Patients with hypertension had a high incidence (57%) of antibodies to HSP70 compared to the low incidence (12%) of antibodies to HSP70 in patients with normal blood pressure in cerebral infarction group. Patients with hypertension in the control group had a higher incidence (11%) of antibodies to HSP70 compared to the low incidence (2%) of antibodies to HSP70 in the same group. CONCLUSION: There is a significant difference in the level of antibodies to HSP70 between patients with cerebral infarction and controls. Elevation in the level of antibodies to HSP70 may reflect the degree of brain tissue damage.

RESUMO

The Rice black-streaked dwarf virus (RBSDV) virion is composed of two layers of capsid proteins and 10 segments of double-stranded genomic RNA (S1-S10). Due to the fragility of the RBSDV outer capsid, it is very difficult to obtain intact virus particles for preparation of antiserum needed in virus detection. In this work, the major outer capsid protein (P10) encoded by S10 of RBSDV was expressed in Escherichia coli cells as a glutathione-S-transferase (GST) fusion protein. After purification of GST-P10 through affinity chromatography, P10 was released from the fusion protein by thrombin digestion and the purified P10 protein was used to immunize rabbits. The resulting polyclonal antiserum specifically recognized RBSDV from infected plant tissue and a planthopper vector in Western blotting assays. To facilitate screening of large numbers of samples, an indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ID-ELISA) protocol capable of detecting RBSDV in very dilute wheat leaf extracts was developed. Based on the results, we conclude that efficient and economic detection of RBSDV can be performed routinely using polyclonal antiserum against P10 expressed in prokaryotic cells.
