RESUMO
Objective: To clarify the diagnostic value of magnetic resonance imaging based on liver imaging reporting and data system (LI-RADS) for phosphatidylinositol proteoglycan-3 (GPC3) expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: Clinical and pathological data of 95 HCC cases with positive GPC3 expression (+) and 40 HCC cases with negative GPC3 expression (-) were retrospectively analyzed, and their MRI image features based on the 2018 version of LI-RADS were compared. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine the main predictors of GPC3 expression. Receiver operating characteristic curve was used further to determine the diagnostic efficacy of combined clinical imaging model to predict GPC3 expression. Enumeration data were compared with χ2 test or Fisher's exact test. Measurement data were compared using independent samples t-test or Mann-Whitney U-test. Results: There were statistically significant differences between HCC in GPC3 (+) and GPC3(-) group at alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) levels (χ2=31.814, P<0.000 1), and MRI features: capsular enhacement (χ2=4.108, P=0.043), halo type enhancement (χ2=4.847, P=0.028), and lesion apparent dispersion coefficient (ADC) (t=2.552, P=0.011 8). Multivariate regression analysis showed that AFP>20 µg/L (OR=9.358, P<0.000 1) and ADC≤1.404×10-3 mm2/s (OR=1.003, P=0.017) were independent predictors for GPC3 expression in HCC. The combined model and the area under the curve value for the diagnosis of GPC3(+) in HCC was 0.810, and its diagnostic sensitivity and specificity were 76.8% and 77.5%, respectively. Conclusion: AFP>20 µg/L and ADC≤1.404×10-3 mm2/s may indicate the expression of GPC3 in HCC, and the combination of the two diagnostic indicators can provide a simple and effective non-invasive diagnostic method for clinical practice.

The magnetic gradient and curvature drift of energetic ions can form a longitudinal electric current around a planet known as the ring current, that has been observed in the intrinsic magnetospheres of Earth, Jupiter, and Saturn. However, there is still a lack of observational evidence of ring current in Mercury's magnetosphere, which has a significantly weaker dipole magnetic field. Under such conditions, charged particles are thought to be efficiently lost through magnetopause shadowing and/or directly impact the planetary surface. Here, we present the observational evidence of Mercury's ring current by analysing particle measurements from MErcury Surface, Space Environment, GEochemistry, and Ranging (MESSENGER) spacecraft. The ring current is bifurcated because of the dayside off-equatorial magnetic minima. Test-particle simulation with Mercury's dynamic magnetospheric magnetic field model (KT17 model) validates this morphology. The ring current energy exceeds [Formula: see text] J during active times, indicating that magnetic storms may also occur on Mercury.
RESUMO
Objective: To improve the understanding of newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) patients with bone marrow (BM) monoclonal plasma cell ratio of less than 10%. Methods: The clinical characteristics, laboratory examination, response to treatment, and prognosis of 36 NDMM patients with BM plasma cell ratio of less than 10% at Peking Union Medical College Hospital from January 2009 to December 2017 were summarized retrospectively. In the same period, other age- and gender-matched 72 NDMM patients were selected as the control group, whose BM plasma cell ratio was equal to or greater than 10%. Results: First, the patients in the study group accounted for 4.4% of the whole MM population (36/818) , among which only 11 (30.6%) were classified as International Staging System (ISS) â ¢, which was significantly lower than that in the control group[45 (62.5%) ] (P=0.002) . Extramedullary disease (EMD) was more common in the study group (33.3%vs 5.6%, P<0.001) . The median quantity of serum M protein (g/L) in the less than 10% group was 1.04 (0-50.10) , which was significantly lower than that in the control group [4.50 (0-63.10) ] (P=0.016) , similar to the median quantity of 24-h urinary light chain (510 mg vs 2800 mg, respectively, P=0.023) . Second, the median progression-free survival (PFS) times of front-line regimen in the study and control groups were 26.4 and 19.9 months, respectively (HR=1.703, 95%CI 0.167-0.233, P=0.002) . In addition, the overall survival (OS) times were 65.8 and 46.2 months, respectively (HR=2.626, 95%CI 0.439-0.541, P=0.058) . Third, the study group was reclassified based on the quantity of M protein. The median OS times in patients with low/high tumor load were 66.4 and 24.0 months, respectively (HR=2.349, 95%CI 0.603-0.696, P=0.046) . The median PFS times were 33.1 and 15.5 months, respectively (HR=1.806, 95%CI 0.121-0.399, P=0.077) . Bortezomib-based regimens did not affect the clinical outcomes. Conclusion: The subpopulation of patients with MM with BM monoclonal plasma cell ratio less than 10% has specific clinical characteristics, including an early disease stage and a lower overall tumor load. Although more patients of this minor group presented with an extramedullary disease, their response rate to the initial treatment and survival outcome are better than those of patients with BM monoclonal plasma cell ratio more than 10%.

In order to achieve desired mechanical properties of alloys by manipulating grain boundaries (GBs) via solute decoration, it is of great significance to understand the underlying mechanisms of microstructural evolution and plastic deformation. In this work, nanocrystalline (NC) Cu-W alloyed films with W concentrations spanning from 0 to 40 at% were prepared by using magnetron sputtering. Thermal stability (within the temperature range of 200 °C-600 °C) and hardness of the films were investigated by using the x-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscope (TEM) and nanoindentation, respectively. The NC pure Cu film exhibited substantial grain growth upon all annealing temperatures. The Cu-W alloyed films, however, displayed distinct microstructural evolution that depended not only on the W concentration but also on the annealing temperature. At a low temperature of 200 °C, all the Cu-W alloyed films were highly stable, with unconspicuous change in grain sizes. At high temperatures of 400 °C and 600 °C, the microstructural evolution was greatly controlled by the W concentrations. The Cu-W films with low W concentration manifested abnormal grain growth (AGG), while the ones with high W concentrations showed phase separation. TEM observations unveiled that the AGG in the Cu-W alloyed thin films was rationalized by GB migration. Nanoindentation results showed that, although the hardness of both the as-deposited and annealed Cu-W alloyed thin films monotonically increased with W concentrations, a transition from annealing hardening to annealing softening was interestingly observed at the critical W addition of â¼25 at%. It was further revealed that an enhanced GB segregation associated with detwinning was responsible for the annealing hardening, while a reduced solid solution hardening for the annealing softening.

Objective: To investigate the impact of symptom onset to first medical contact (SO-to-FMC)time on the prognosis of patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI). Methods: The clinical data of 341 consecutive STEMI patients, who were hospitalized to our hospital and received primary percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) from August 2011 to April 2016, were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into ≤90 min group (201 cases) and >90 min group (140 cases) according to the SO-to-FMC time. The treatment time, mortality and incidence of major adverse cardiac and cerebro-vascular events(MACCE) were analyzed. The risk factor of 1-year mortality after PCI and 1-year incidence of MACCE during the post-discharge follow-up period were analyzed by binary logistic regression analysis. The predictor of 4.5-year mortality after PCI was analyzed by multivariate Cox regression analysis. Methods The door to balloon time (104(88, 125) min vs. 111(92, 144)min, P=0.023), first medical contact to balloon time(146(119, 197) min vs. 177(125, 237)min, P=0.005), and symptom onset-to-balloon time(200(170, 257) min vs. 338(270, 474)min, P<0.001)were all significantly shorter in the ≤90 min group than in>90 min group. The 30-day mortality (2.99% (6/201) vs. 7.86%(11/140), P=0.042), 1-year mortality (2.89 (5/173) vs. 9.57(11/115), P=0.015), 1-year incidence of MACCE during the post-discharge follow-up period(1.16%(2/173) vs. 6.96%(8/115), P=0.021), and 4.5-year cumulative mortality(3.00% vs. 11.20%, P=0.007) after PCI were significantly lower in the ≤90 min group than in the >90 min group. Moreover, the 4.5-year incidence with free of MACCE (97.20% vs. 88.80%, P=0.025) during the post-discharge follow-up period was significantly higher in the ≤90 min group than in the >90 min group. In-hospital mortality was similar between the two groups (2.49%(5/201) vs. 6.43%(9/140), P=0.071). Results: The door to balloon time (104(88, 125) min vs. 111(92, 144)min, P=0.023) , first medical contact to balloon time(146(119, 197) min vs. 177(125, 237)min, P=0.005), and symptom onset-to-balloon time(200(170, 257) min vs. 338(270, 474)min, P<0.001) were all significantly shorter in the ≤90 min group than in >90 min group. The 30-day mortality(2.99% (6/201) vs. 7.86%(11/140), P=0.042), 1-year mortality (2.89(5/173) vs. 9.57(11/115), P=0.015), 1-year incidence of MACCE during the post-discharge follow-up period (1.16%(2/173) vs. 6.96%(8/115), P=0.021), and 4.5-year cumulative mortality (3.00% vs. Results of binary logistic regression analysis showed that the SO-to-FMC time >90 min was the risk factor of 1-year mortality(OR=2.90, 95%CI 1.22-6.92, P=0.016) and 1-year incidence of MACCE (OR=5.19, 95%CI 1.21-22.20, P=0.026) during the post-discharge follow-up period. Multivariate Cox regression analysis demonstrated that the SO-to-FMC time >90 min was the risk factor of 4.5-year mortality after PCI in patients with STEMI (HR=2.88, 95%CI 1.10-7.53, P=0.031). Conclusion: Shorting the SO-to-FMC time can significantly reduce the treatment time of STEMI patients, short and long-term mortalities and the incidence of MACCE, and improve the prognosis of patients with STEMI.

Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is an aggressive malignancy with high rates of recurrence following surgical resection. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) play an important role in cancer development. Pathogenesis of adrenal tumours have been characterised by mRNA, microRNA and methylation expression signatures, but it is unknown if this extends to lncRNAs. This study describes lncRNA expression signatures in ACC, adrenal cortical adenoma (ACA) and normal adrenal cortex (NAC) and presents lncRNAs associated with ACC recurrence to identify novel prognostic and therapeutic targets. RNA was extracted from freshly frozen tissue with confirmation of diagnosis by histopathology. Focused lncRNA and mRNA transcriptome analysis was performed using the ArrayStar Human LncRNA V3.0 microarray. Differentially expressed lncRNAs were validated using quantitative reverse transcriptase-PCR and correlated with clinical outcomes. Microarray of 21 samples (ten ACCs, five ACAs and six NACs) showed distinct patterns of lncRNA expression between each group. A total of 956 lncRNAs were differentially expressed between ACC and NAC, including known carcinogenesis-related lncRNAs such as H19, GAS5, MALAT1 and PRINS (P≤0.05); 85 lncRNAs were differentially expressed between ACC and ACA (P≤0.05). Hierarchical clustering and heat mapping showed ACC samples correctly grouped compared with NAC and ACA. Sixty-six differentially expressed lncRNAs were found to be associated with ACC recurrence (P≤0.05), one of which, PRINS, was validated in a group of 20 ACCs and also found to be associated with metastatic disease on presentation. The pathogenesis of adrenal tumours extends to lncRNA dysregulation and low expression of the lncRNA PRINS is associated with ACC recurrence.

Four experiments were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of a computer-controlled simulated digestion system (CCSDS) for predicting apparent metabolizable energy (AME) and true metabolizable energy (TME) using in vitro digestible energy (IVDE) content of feeds for roosters. In Exp. 1, the repeatability of the IVDE assay was tested in corn, wheat, rapeseed meal, and cottonseed meal with 3 assays of each sample and each with 5 replicates of the same sample. In Exp. 2, the additivity of IVDE concentration in corn, soybean meal, and cottonseed meal was tested by comparing determined IVDE values of the complete diet with values predicted from measurements on individual ingredients. In Exp. 3, linear models to predict AME and TME based on IVDE were developed with 16 calibration samples. In Exp. 4, the accuracy of prediction models was tested by the differences between predicted and determined values for AME or TME of 6 ingredients and 4 diets. In Exp. 1, the mean CV of IVDE was 0.88% (range = 0.20 to 2.14%) for corn, wheat, rapeseed meal, and cottonseed meal. No difference in IVDE was observed between 3 assays of an ingredient, indicating that the IVDE assay is repeatable under these conditions. In Exp. 2, minimal differences (<21 kcal/kg) were observed between determined and calculated IVDE of 3 complete diets formulated with corn, soybean meal, and cottonseed meal, demonstrating that the IVDE values are additive in a complete diet. In Exp. 3, linear relationships between AME and IVDE and between TME and IVDE were observed in 16 calibration samples: AME = 1.062 × IVDE - 530 (R(2) = 0.97, residual standard deviation [RSD] = 146 kcal/kg, P < 0.001) and TME = 1.050 × IVDE - 16 (R(2) = 0.97, RSD = 148 kcal/kg, P < 0.001). Differences of less than 100 kcal/kg were observed between determined and predicted values in 10 and 9 of the 16 calibration samples for AME and TME, respectively. In Exp. 4, differences of less than 100 kcal/kg between determined and predicted values were observed in 3 and 4 of the 6 ingredient samples for AME and TME, respectively, and all 4 diets showed the differences of less than 25 kcal/kg between determined and predicted AME or TME. Our results indicate that the CCSDS is repeatable and additive. This system accurately predicted AME or TME on 17 of the 26 samples and may be a promising method to predict the energetic values of feed for poultry.

Type-I clathrates Rb(8-x-t)K(xâ¡t)Au(y)Ge(46-y) are synthesized from Rb4Ge9, K4Ge9, Au, and Ge. Crystal structures and compositions are determined by single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction methods. The lattice parameters are 10.8103(2), 10.7956(2), 10.7850(2), and 10.7723(2) Å in space group Pm3n for Rb7.88(2)Au2.47(2)Ge43.53(2), Rb3.69(4)K4.31(4)Au2.17(2)Ge43.83(2), Rb1.66(5)K6.34(5)Au2.17(1)Ge43.83(1), and K6.71(4)Au2.28(2)Ge43.72(2), respectively. Bonding analysis for Rb8Au6Ge40 suggests ionic interaction of Rb with the framework besides covalent interactions between Ge and Au/Ge. Rb7.88Au2.47Ge43.53 and K6.71(4)Au2.28Ge43.72 are both diamagnetic. The heat capacity of K6.71Au2.28Ge43.72 is analyzed. Transport properties of Rb7.88Au2.47Ge43.53 reveal n-type conducting, and low thermal conductivity.
RESUMO
The spark-plasma-sintering (SPS) technique has successfully been applied for the single-step direct synthesis of Ti2O3 from a mixture of powders of rutile/anatase with titanium. The components react by diffusion through the grain boundaries, forming several intermediate phases locally. A single-phase material of titanium(III) oxide is obtained in compact bulk form after 180 min of SPS treatment at 1473 K. The electrical and thermal transport properties of such a SPS-prepared material measured in the temperature range between 300 and 800 K reflect the known semiconductor-to-metal transition above 400 K. The observed metallic-like electrical and thermal conductivity above this temperature is in good agreement with previously reported results. A maximum of the thermoelectric figure-of-merit ZT = 0.04 is achieved at 350 K.
RESUMO
An experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary protein source on the digestive enzymes and electrolyte composition of digesta fluid in the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum of chickens. A 2 × 3 factorial and completely randomized design that used 2 types of diets that differed only in their protein source [a corn-soybean meal-miscellaneous meal diet (CSMD) and a corn-miscellaneous meal diet (CMD)] and 3 types of cannulated roosters (duodenal, jejunal, and ileal cannulations) was adopted. The experiments included 5 replicates for each of the 6 treatments, and each replicate involved 3 cannulated chickens. The digesta samples were collected for 1 h every 4 h between 09:30 and 18:30 h on d 31, 33, and 35 of the experiment. The amylase, lipase, trypsin, and chymotrypsin activities and the electrolyte composition in the duodenal, jejunal, and ileal fluid were determined. In general, no significant differences between the 2 dietary groups were observed for the mean of duodenal, jejuna, and ileal amylase, trypsin, chymotrypsin, and lipase, respectively. However, the duodenal amylase activity was lower in the CMD group than the CSMD group (P < 0.05), which was probably related to the lower duodenal pH value that was observed in this group (P < 0.01). A higher jejunal Mg(2+) concentration was observed in chickens that were fed the CMD (P < 0.05), whereas the differences in the Na(+), K(+), Cl(-), and Ca(2+) concentrations in the small intestine were not significant between the 2 diets (P > 0.05). In conclusion, the digestive enzymes and electrolytes in the small intestinal fluid of chickens adapted to the protein source of the diet, and each segment of the small intestine displayed different modifications.

Two experiments were conducted to investigate the feasibility of using corn starch as the basal diet to determine the ME of protein feedstuffs using the TME assay in Chinese Yellow chickens. In the first experiment, the TME of corn starch were determined by force-feeding 25 or 40 g of feed. To test the repeatability of the bioassay, the same experiment was repeated 4 times. In the second experiment, the TME of soybean meal and cottonseed meal was determined by considering corn starch as the basal diet, while corn was fed alone to the chickens. To test the accuracy of the TME assay for individual ingredients, the additivity was evaluated by determining the TME of 3 mixed diets: corn-soybean meal diet, corn-cottonseed meal diet, and corn-soybean meal-cottonseed meal diet. In experiment 1, the value of endogenous energy loss was 16.76 to 18.46 kcal/48 h, and no significant differences between the 4 assays were noted. The TME and energy metabolizability of the 25-g corn starch treatment (4.06 kcal/g and 98.06%) were higher than those of the 40-g treatment (3.79 kcal/g and 91.45%; P < 0.01); whereas the CV were less than that of the 40-g treatment, indicating that it is reasonable to use the TME value of the 25-g treatment in feed formulation. In experiment 2, the TME values for corn, soybean meal, and cottonseed meal were 4.02, 3.39, and 2.92 kcal/g, respectively. The observed and predicted TME values of the corn-soybean meal, corn-cottonseed meal, and corn-soybean meal-cottonseed meal diets were in high agreement with differences ranging from -0.02 to 0.01 kcal/g. None of the differences was significant, indicating an accurate measure of the TME of the individual ingredients. Thus, using corn starch as the basal diet to determine the TME of protein feedstuffs was validated.

The thermoelectric performance of EuCd(2)Sb(2) and YbCd(2)Sb(2) was improved by mixed cation occupation. The composition, structure, and thermoelectric properties of Yb(x)Eu(1-x)Cd(2)Sb(2) (x=0, 0.5, 0.75, and 1) have been investigated. Polycrystalline samples are prepared by direct reaction of the elements. Thermoelectric properties were investigated after densification of the materials by spark plasma sintering. Yb(x)Eu(1-x)Cd(2)Sb(2) crystallizes in the P3m1 space group. The lattice parameters increase with the europium content. These materials show low electrical resistivity, high Seebeck coefficient, and low thermal conductivity together with high carrier concentration and high carrier mobility. ZT values of 0.88 and 0.97 are obtained for Yb(0.5)Eu(0.5)Cd(2)Sb(2) and Yb(0.75)Eu(0.25)Cd(2)Sb(2) at 650 K, respectively.
RESUMO
A new phase, Sn(x)Pt4Sb(12-y)Sn(y), has been prepared from the elements. It exhibits a wide range of homogeneity with 0.3(2) < or = x < or = 1.0(2) and 4.2(2) < or = y < or = 7.0(2). The crystal structure and the composition were established by single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction as well as wavelength-dispersive X-ray analysis measurements and were supported by nuclear magnetic resonance experiments. The compound is the first representative of the filled-skutterudite family with the filler atoms not located at the center of the cavity but covalently bonded to the cavity's wall, as confirmed by the analysis of chemical bonding with the electron localizability indicator. The Sn and Sb atoms share the framework site with different coordinate parameters caused by the difference in atomic size; additional tin atoms are located in the cavities of the framework. The material is a diamagnet in the whole composition range. In agreement with the calculated electronic density of states, the material reveals a metallic behavior in electronic transport. The absolute values of electrical resistivity vary with the tin-to-antimony ratio.
RESUMO
Twenty-six microsatellite markers, along with two restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) markers and three morphological markers, have been mapped to five linkage groups, corresponding to the five autosomes of the Queensland fruit fly, Bactrocera tryoni. All these molecular and genetic markers were genotyped in three-generation pedigrees. Eight molecular markers were also localized to the salivary gland polytene chromosomes by in situ hybridization. This provides a substantial starting point for an integrated genetic and physical map of B. tryoni.

A homologue of the Drosophila melanogaster eye-colour gene, scarlet (st), has been isolated from the genome of the tephritid fruit fly, Bactrocera tryoni. The comparison of the B. tryoni and D. melanogaster scarlet gene shows 71.2% and 79.3% sequence identity at the DNA and the derived amino acid level, respectively. Two allelic eye-colour mutations of B. tryoni, orange-eyes and lemon-eyes, have been recovered and found to be colocalized with the st gene. The st gene sequence in the two mutant strains has been examined for DNA sequence changes and expression levels.

The Queensland fruit fly, Bactrocera tryoni, like the Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata, has a diploid complement of 12 chromosomes, including five pairs of autosomes and a XX/XY sex chromosome pair. Characteristic features of each chromosome are described. Chromosomal homology between B. tryoni and C. capitata has been determined by comparing chromosome banding pattern and in situ hybridisation of cloned genes to polytene chromosomes. Although the evidence indicates that a number of chromosomal inversions have occurred since the separation of the two species, synteny of the chromosomes appears to have been maintained.
