OBJECTIVES: Periodontitis seriously affects oral-related quality of life and overall health. Long intergenic non-coding RNA 01126 (LINC01126) is aberrantly expressed in periodontitis tissues. This study aimed to explore the possible pathogenesis of LINC01126 in periodontitis. METHODS: Inflammatory model of human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs) was established. Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), wound healing assay, and flow cytometry were utilized to detect biological roles of LINC01126. Binding site of miR-655-3p to LINC01126 and IL-6 was predicted. Then, subcellular localization of LINC01126 and the binding ability of miR-655-3p to LINC01126 and IL-6 in HGFs were verified. Hematoxylin-Eosin (H&E) staining and immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining were utilized to detect tissue morphology and proteins expression of clinical samples. RESULTS: LINC01126 silencing can alleviate cell inflammation induced by lipopolysaccharide derived from Porphyromonas gingivalis, reduce cell apoptosis, and promote cell migration. As a "sponge" for miR-655-3p, LINC01126 inhibits its binding to mRNA of IL-6, thereby promoting inflammation progression and JAK2/STAT3 pathway activation. Quantitative real-time PCR, Western Blot, and IHC results of clinical tissue samples further confirmed that miR-655-3p expression was down-regulated and IL-6/JAK2/STAT3 was abnormally activated in periodontitis tissues. CONCLUSIONS: In summary, serving as an endogenous competitive RNA of miR-655-3p, LINC01126 promotes IL-6/JAK2/STAT3 pathway activation, thereby promoting periodontitis pathogenesis.

In this paper, we have systematically studied the electronic instability of pressured black phosphorous (BP) under strong magnetic field. We first present an effective model Hamiltonian for pressured BP near the Lifshitz point. Then we show that when the magnetic field exceeds a critical value, the nodal-line semimetal (NLSM) state of BP with a small band overlap re-enters the semiconductive phase by re-opening a small gap. This results in a narrow-bandgap semiconductor with a partially flat valence band edge. Moreover, we demonstrate that above this critical magnetic field, two possible instabilities, i.e., charge density wave (CDW) phase and excitonic insulator (EI) phase, are predicted as the ground state for high and low doping concentrations, respectively. By comparing our results with the experiment [Sun et al. Sci. Bull. 63, 1539 (2018)], we suggest that the field-induced instability observed experimentally corresponds to an EI. Furthermore, we propose that the semimetallic BP under pressure with small band overlaps may provide a good platform to study the magneto-exciton insulators. Our findings bring the first insight into the electronic instability of topological NLSM in the quantum limit.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of relugolix combination therapy (relugolix CT; 40 mg relugolix, 1 mg estradiol, and 0.5 mg norethisterone acetate) for up to 2 years in the SPIRIT long-term extension (LTE) study on functioning and health-related quality of life (QoL), using the Endometriosis Health Profile (EHP)-30 questionnaire, and assess how changes in QoL domains correlated with improvements in dysmenorrhea and non-menstrual pelvic pain (NMPP). DESIGN: Long-term extension (LTE) study of the SPIRIT phase 3 trials. SUBJECTS: Premenopausal women with moderate-to-severe endometriosis pain who previously completed the randomized SPIRIT trials were eligible to enroll in an 80-week LTE where all women received relugolix CT. INTERVENTIONS: Relugolix combination therapy (relugolix CT: relugolix 40 mg, estradiol 1 mg, norethindrone acetate 0.5 mg) MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE(S): Least square (LS) mean changes in the EHP-30 domain and total scores from baseline (pivotal) were analyzed using a mixed-effects model. Results up to104 weeks are reported by pivotal trial treatment group with a focus on the relugolix CT group (ie, relugolix CT or placebo for 24 weeks, or delayed relugolix CT [relugolix 40 mg monotherapy for 12 weeks, followed by relugolix CT for 12 weeks]). In addition, the relationships between changes in dysmenorrhea and NMPP and changes in EHP-30 scores were assessed. RESULTS: In the 277 women treated with relugolix CT, LS mean EHP-30 pain domain scores improved by 57.8% (LS mean change:-32.8; 95% CI:-35.5, -30.1), 66.4% (LS mean change:-37.7; 95% CI:-40.3,-35.0); and 72.2% (LS mean change:-41.3; 95% CI:-43.9,-38.7) at Weeks 24, 52, and 104, respectively. The proportions of women with clinically meaningful improvement on the EHP-30 pain domain were 75.9%, 83.6% and 88.6% at weeks 24, 52, and 104, respectively. Non-pain EHP-30 domain and total scores likewise improved. A positive correlation between changes in dysmenorrhea/NMPP and all EHP -30 domain scores was observed. Results were similar for the delayed relugolix CT and placebo→relugolix CT groups. CONCLUSIONS: Sustained reduction of endometriosis-associated pain with relugolix CT observed up to 104 weeks was accompanied by improvements in functioning and health-related QoL. These findings complement the results of the pivotal SPIRIT trials, which showed relugolix combination therapy significantly reduced dysmenorrhea, non-menstrual pelvic pain (NMPP) and dyspareunia vs placebo in premenopausal women with endometriosis-associated pain.

Developing highly active and durable non-precious metal-based electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is crucial in achieving efficient energy conversion. Herein, we reported a CoNiAl0.5O/NF nanofilament that exhibits higher OER activity than previously reported IrO2-based catalysts in alkaline solution. The as-synthesized CoNiAl0.5O/NF catalyst demonstrates a low overpotential of 230 mV at a current density of 100 mA cm-2, indicating its high catalytic efficiency. Furthermore, the catalyst exhibits a Tafel slope of 26 mV dec-1, suggesting favorable reaction kinetics. The CoNiAl0.5O/NF catalyst exhibits impressive stability, ensuring its potential for practical applications. Detailed characterizations reveal that the enhanced activity of CoNiAl0.5O/NF can be attributed to the electronic modulation achieved through Al3+ incorporation, which promotes the emergence of higher-valence Ni metal, facilitating nanofilament formation and improving mass transport and charge transfer processes. The synergistic effect between nanofilaments and porous nickel foam (NF) substrate significantly enhances the electrical conductivity of this catalyst material. This study highlights the significance of electronic structures for improving the activity of cost-effective and non-precious metal-based electrocatalysts for the OER.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the study described was to establish prediction models to initially screen the beneficiary patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in the treatment of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) agents plus anti-programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) antibody. METHODS: A total of 62 patients were enrolled in this study. All patients underwent ultrasound (US), color ddoppler flowing imaging (CDFI), contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) and laboratory examinations within 2 wk before the treatment. Tumor response was assessed according to mRECIST criteria. Univariate and multivariate analyses were used to select the independent predictors. US + CDFI, CEUS and FULL models were established. Three models were displayed by nomography. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) and calibration curves were drawn to evaluate the predictive ability of models. Decision curve analysis (DCA) was used to assess the clinical utility of models. RESULTS: On univariate and multivariate analysis, the US boundary (p = 0.037), halo (p = 0.002) and CDFI (p = 0.024) were included in the US + CDFI model. CEUS boundary (p = 0.001) and washout time (p < 0.001) were included in the CEUS model. The number of lesions (p = 0.104), halo on US (p = 0.014), CDFI (p = 0.057) and washout time on CEUS (p = 0.015) were incorporated into the FULL model. The C indices of the US + CDFI, CEUS and FULL models were 0.918, 0.920 and 0.973. CEUS and FULL models yielded a good net benefit for almost all threshold probabilities. CONCLUSION: Nomograms based on US, CDFI, CEUS and clinical characteristics could help to non-invasively predict the response to treatment with anti-PD-1 antibodies plus anti-VEGF agents.

The central sulcus divides the primary motor and somatosensory cortices in many anthropoid primate brains. Differences exist in the surface area and depth of the central sulcus along the dorso-ventral plane in great apes and humans compared to other primate species. Within hominid species, there are variations in the depth and aspect of their hand motor area, or knob, within the precentral gyrus. In this study, we used post-image analyses on magnetic resonance images to characterize the central sulcus shape of humans, chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes), gorillas (Gorilla gorilla), and orangutans (Pongo pygmaeus and Pongo abelii). Using these data, we examined the morphological variability of central sulcus in hominids, focusing on the hand region, a significant change in human evolution. We show that the central sulcus shape differs between great ape species, but all show similar variations in the location of their hand knob. However, the prevalence of the knob location along the dorso-ventral plane and lateralization differs between species and the presence of a second ventral motor knob seems to be unique to humans. Humans and orangutans exhibit the most similar and complex central sulcus shapes. However, their similarities may reflect divergent evolutionary processes related to selection for different positional and habitual locomotor functions.

Isoflavones are a class of natural products that exhibit a wide range of interesting biological properties, including antioxidant, hepatoprotective, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory activities. Scandenone (1), osajin (2), and 6,8-diprenylgenistein (3) are natural prenylated isoflavones that share the same polyphenol framework. In this research, the key intermediate 15 was used for the synthesis of the natural isoflavones 1-3, establishing a stereoselective synthetic method for both linear and angular pyran isoflavones. The antibacterial activities of 1-3 were also evaluated, and all of them displayed good antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria. Among them, 2 was the most potent one against MRSA, with a MIC value of 2 µg/mL, and the SEM assay indicated that the bacterial cell membranes of both MRSA and E. faecalis could be disrupted by 2. These findings suggest that this type of isoflavone could serve as a lead for the development of novel antibacterial agents for the treatment of Gram-positive bacterial infections.

Paclitaxel, a microtubule-stabilizing chemotherapy drug, can cause severe paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathic pain (PIPNP). The roles of transient receptor potential (TRP) ion channel vanilloid 1 (TRPV1, a nociceptor and heat sensor) and melastatin 8 (TRPM8, a cold sensor) in PIPNP remain controversial. In this study, Western blotting, immunofluorescence staining, and calcium imaging revealed that the expression and functional activity of TRPV1 were upregulated in rat dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons in PIPNP. Behavioral assessments using the von Frey and brush tests demonstrated that mechanical hyperalgesia in PIPNP was significantly inhibited by intraperitoneal or intrathecal administration of the TRPV1 antagonist capsazepine, indicating that TRPV1 played a key role in PIPNP. Conversely, the expression of TRPM8 protein decreased and its channel activity was reduced in DRG neurons. Furthermore, activation of TRPM8 via topical application of menthol or intrathecal injection of WS-12 attenuated the mechanical pain. Mechanistically, the TRPV1 activity triggered by capsaicin (a TRPV1 agonist) was reduced after menthol application in cultured DRG neurons, especially in the paclitaxel-treated group. These findings showed that upregulation of TRPV1 and inhibition of TRPM8 are involved in the generation of PIPNP, and they suggested that inhibition of TRPV1 function in DRG neurons via activation of TRPM8 might underlie the analgesic effects of menthol.

This study reports the findings from using time-domain nuclear magnetic resonance (TD-NMR) to analyze the pore structures of cotton fibers. Cotton fibers, which swell and soften in water, present challenges for conventional pore measurement techniques. TD-NMR overcomes these by measuring the transverse relaxation time (T2) of water protons within the fibers, indicative of internal pore sizes. We established a T2-to-pore size conversion equation using mixed cellulose ester membranes. This enabled differentiation between strongly bound, loosely bound, and free water within the fibers, and detailed the water distribution. A method for measuring the pore size distribution of wet cotton fiber was developed using TD-NMR. We then examined how various pretreatments affect the fibers' internal pores by comparing their pore size distribution and porosity. Specifically, caustic mercerization primarily enlarges the porosity and size of larger pores, while liquid ammonia treatment increases porosity but reduces the size of smaller pores. This research confirms TD-NMR's utility in assessing cotton fabrics' wet processing performance.

INTRODUCTION: CD24 is a highly glycosylated glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchored membrane protein that plays an important role in tumor progression. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of abnormal expression of CD24 on the proliferation, migration and invasion of breast cancer (BC) cells, and the molecular mechanism of regulating CD24 expression in breast cancer. METHODOLOGY: The bioinformatics method was used to predict the expression level of CD24 in BC and its relationship with the occurrence and development of BC. IHC, RT-qPCR and WB were used to detect the expression of CD24 in BC tissues and cells. The proliferation of CD24 was evaluated by CCK-8 and colony formation assay, and the migration and invasion of CD24 were evaluated by wound healing and transwell. In addition, the effect of CD24 on the malignancy of BC in vivo was further evaluated by subcutaneous tumorigenesis assay. Molecular mechanisms were measured by luciferase reporter assays, biotin-labeled miRNA pull-down assay, RIP, and western blotting. RESULTS: The results show that CD24 is highly expressed in breast cancer tissues and cell lines, and knockdown of CD24 in vivo and in vitro can inhibit the proliferation, migration and invasion of BC cells. Mechanistically, the transcription factor ZNF460 promotes its expression by binding to the CD24 promoter, and the expression of ZNF460 is regulated by miR-125a-5p, which inhibits its expression by targeting the 3'UTR of ZNF460. In addition, LINC00525 acts as a ceRNA sponge to adsorb miR-125a-5p and regulate its expression. CONCLUSIONS: Overexpression of CD24 is involved in the development and poor prognosis of BC, which can be used as a potential target for the treatment of BC and provide a theoretical basis for the treatment of BC.

Owing to their incomplete digestion in the human body and inadequate removal by sewage treatment plants, antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) accumulate in water bodies, potentially affecting the exposed humans and aquatic organisms. Therefore, sensitive and reliable detection methods must be urgently developed for monitoring trace AEDs in environmental water samples. Herein, a novel phenylboronic acid-functionalized magnetic cyclodextrin microporous organic network (Fe3O4@CD-MON-PBA) was designed and synthesized via the thiol-yne click post-modification strategy for selective and efficient magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) of trace AEDs from complex sample matrices through the specific B-N coordination, π-π, hydrogen bonding, electrostatic, and host-guest interactions. Fe3O4@CD-MON-PBA exhibited a large surface area (118.5 m2 g-1), rapid magnetic responsiveness (38.6 emu g-1, 15 s), good stability and reusability (at least 8 times), and abundant binding sites for AEDs. Under optimal extraction conditions, the proposed Fe3O4@CD-MON-PBA-MSPE-HPLC-UV method exhibited a wide linear range (0.5-1000 µg L-1), low limits of detection (0.1-0.5 µg L-1) and quantitation (0.3-2 µg L-1), good anti-interference ability, and large enrichment factors (92.2-104.3 to 92.3-98.0) for four typical AEDs. This work confirmed the feasibility of the thiol-yne click post-synthesis strategy for constructing novel and efficient multifunctional magnetic CD-MONs for sample pretreatment and elucidated the significance of B-N coordination between PBA and N-containing AEDs.

Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death worldwide, and the functional status of the gut plays a key role in patients' prognosis. Recent publications have explored the gut association with stroke, but few articles have been published that specifically address a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the gut microbiota and its association with stroke. To address this gap, we used bibliometric methods to examine the landscape of research concerning the gut and stroke over approximately two decades, utilizing the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). On November 1, 2022, a search was conducted for English-language articles published between 2002 and 2022, with only including original articles. Visual and statistical analyses were performed using CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Bibliometrix 4.1.0 Package. After screening relevant articles, the results revealed that the number of articles published in this field has progressively increased during the last two decades. In particular, the total number of publications rapidly increased year by year from 2014. Among them, China ranked first in the world with a total of 227 publications. Authorship analysis highlighted Wang Z as the most prolific author, with 18 publications and an H-index of 14, highlighting significant contributions to this field. Meanwhile, the Southern Medical University of China was identified as the most productive institution. Moreover, analysis of keywords revealed that 'cerebral ischemia', 'intestinal microbiota', 'gut microbiota', and 'trimethylamine N-oxide' were popular topics searched, and research on the relationship between stroke and the gut continues to be a research hotspot. In summary, this study presents an overview of the progress and emerging trends in research on the relationship between stroke and gut health over the past two decades, providing a valuable resource for researchers aiming to understand the current state of the field and identify potential directions for future studies.

BACKGROUND: Early intervention and diagnosis of Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) are crucial for preventing adult cardiovascular disease. However, the optimal indicator for identifying MetS in adolescent remains controversial. METHODS: In total,1408 Chinese adolescents and 3550 American adolescents aged 12-17 years were included. MetS was defined according to the modified version for adolescents based on Adult Treatment Panel III (NCEP-ATP III) criteria. Areas under the curve (AUC) and corresponding 95% confidence interval (95% CI) of 8 anthropometric/metabolic indexes, such as waist circumference (WC), body mass index (BMI), a body shape index (ABSI), waist triglyceride index (WTI), were calculated to illustrate their ability to differentiate MetS. Sensitivity analysis using the other MetS criteria was performed. RESULTS: Under the modified NCEP-ATP III criteria, WTI had the best discriminating ability in overall adolescents, with AUC of 0.922 (95% CI: 0.900-0.945) in Chinese and 0.959 (95% CI: 0.949-0.969) in American. In contrast, ABSI had the lowest AUCs. Results of sensitivity analysis were generally consistent for the whole Chinese and American population, with the AUC for WC being the highest under some criteria, but it was not statistically different from that of WTI. CONCLUSIONS: WTI had relatively high discriminatory power for MetS detection in Chinese and American adolescents, but the performance of ABSI was poor. IMPACT: While many studies have compared the discriminatory power of some anthropometric indicators for MetS, there are few focused on pediatrics. The current study is the first to compare the discriminating ability of anthropometric/metabolic indicators (WC, BMI, TMI, ABSI, WHtR, VAI, WTI, and TyG) for MetS in adolescents. WTI remains the optimal indicator in screening for MetS in adolescents. WC was also a simple and reliable indicator when screening for MetS in adolescents, but the performance of ABSI was poor. This study provides a theoretical basis for the early identification of MetS in adolescents by adopting effective indicators.

Detecting the concentration of reactive dyes and their hydrolyzed products is essential for controlling the dyeing process and is an important guide for upgrading and improving textile dyeing technology. In this study, capillary electrophoresis (CE) with UV detection was for the first time applied in a real trichromatic dyeing process to provide qualitative and quantitative determination of reactive dyes and their hydrolyzed forms. Here, three original reactive dyes (SES-Cl-red-195, SES-Cl-yellow-145, and SES-Cl-blue-194), their vinyl sulfone forms (VS-Cl-red-195, VS-Cl-yellow-145, and VS-Cl-blue-194), and complete hydrolyzed forms (HES-OH-red-195, HES-OH-yellow-145, and HES-OH-blue-194) could be baseline separated in our developed BGE comprised of 10.0 mol/L Na2B4O7, 15% (V/V) ACN at pH 8.50 that adjusted by 0.50 mol/L H3BO3. The LODs (S/N = 3) of nine analytes ranged from 0.3 to 1.3 mg/L, and high sensitivities were achieved with UV detection. The RSDs of peak area and migration time were in the ranges of 1.4-3.8% and 0.39-1.29%, which indicated the CE methods were reliable for studying different dye forms in complex dye baths, and for evaluating dyeing process quality. Thus, the percentage of dye-uptake in single and trichromatic combination dyes was calculated based on the concentration of the original and their vinyl sulfone and hydrolyzed forms, and the result was consistent with the traditional UV-Vis method.

The increasing electromagnetic pollution is urgently needed as an electromagnetic interference shielding protection device for wearable devices. Two-dimensional transition metal carbides and nitrides (MXene), due to their interesting layered structure and high electrical conductivity, are ideal candidates for constructing efficient conductive networks in electromagnetic interference shielding materials. In this work, lightweight and robust cellulose/MXene/polyurethane composite aerogels were prepared by mixing cellulose nanofiber (CNF) suspensions with MXene, followed by freeze-drying and coating with polyurethane. In this process, CNF effectively assembled MXene nanosheets into a conductive network by enhancing the interactions between MXene nanosheets. The prepared aerogel exhibited the shielding effectiveness of 48.59 dB in the X-band and an electrical conductivity of 0.34 S·cm-1. Meanwhile, the composite aerogel also possessed excellent thermal insulation, infrared stealth, mechanical and hydrophobic properties, and can be used as a wearable protective device to protect the human body from injuries in different scenarios while providing electromagnetic interference shielding protection.

In this study, a benzoselenadiazole- and pyridine-bifunctionalized hydrogen-bonded arylamide foldamer was synthesized. A co-crystallization experiment with 1,4-diiodotetrafluorobenzene showed that a new type of supramolecular double helices, which were induced by three orthogonal interactions, namely, three-center hydrogen bonding (O⋯H⋯O), I⋯N halogen bonding and Se⋯N chalcogen bonding, have been constructed in the solid state. This work presents a novel instance of multiple non-covalent interactions that work together to construct supramolecular architectures.

Sophora flavescens Aiton, a traditional Chinese medicine that was supposed to predominantly play an anti-inflammatory role, has been used to treat multiple diseases, including cancer, for over two thousand years. Recently, it has attracted increasing attention due to the anti-tumor properties of Oxymatrine, one of the most active alkaloids extracted from S. flavescens. This study aims to explore it's anti-tumor effects in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and the underlying mechanisms. We first investigated the effects of oxymatrine on cell apoptosis in lung cancer cell lines A549 and PC9 as well as explored related genes in regulating the apoptosis by transcriptome analysis. Subsequently, to further study the role of TRIM46, we constructed two types of TRIM46 over-expression cells (A549TRIM46+ and PC9TRIM46+ cells) and then investigated the effect of TRIM46 on oxymatrine-induced apoptosis. Moreover, we explored the effect of TRIM46 on downstream signaling pathways. Transcriptome analysis suggested that shared differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in A549 and PC9 cells treated with oxymatrine were CACNA1I, PADI2, and TRIM46. According to TCGA database analysis, the abundance of TRIM46 expression was higher than CACNA1I, and PADI2 in lung cancer tissues, then was selected as the final DEG for subsequent studies. We observed that oxymatrine resulted in down-expression of TRIM46 as well as induced the apoptosis of the cancer cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner. Meanwhile, we found that apoptosis induced by oxymatrine was inhibited by over-expressing TRIM46. Furthermore, our study indicated that the NF-κB signaling pathway was involved in apoptosis suppressed by TRIM46. We conclude that TRIM46 is the direct target of oxymatrine to induce anti-tumor apoptosis and may activate the downstream NF-κB signaling pathway.

Sustainable and rapid production of high-valent cobalt-oxo (Co(IV)=O) species for efficiently removing organic pollutants is challenging in permoxymonosulfate (PMS) based advanced-oxidation-processes (AOPs) due to the limitation of the high 3d-orbital electronic occupancy of Co and slow conversion from Co(III) to Co(II). Herein, S-scheme BiOCl-OV/CoAl-LDH heterojunction were constructed by ultrathin BiOCl with the oxygen-vacancy (OV) self-assembled with ultrathin CoAl-LDH. OV promoted the formation of charge transfer channel (Bi-O-Co bonds) at the interface of the heterojunction and reduced electron occupation of the Co 3d-orbital to facilitate the generation of Co(IV)=O in the BiOCl-OV/CoAl-LDH/PMS/Visible-light system. S-scheme heterojunction accelerated the photogenerated electrons to allow rapid conversion of Co(III) to Co(II), promoting the fast two-electron transfer from Co(II) to Co(IV)=O. Consequently, the developed BiOCl-OV/CoAl-LDH/PMS/Visible-light system showed excellent degradation efficiency for most of organic pollutions, and exhibited very high removal capability for the actual industrial wastewater. This study provides a new insight into the evolution of Co(IV)=O and the coordinative mechanism for photocatalysis and PMS activation.

Lignin, as a natural polyphenol, displays anti-oxidant activity by trapping and binding free radicals through its free phenolic hydroxyl groups. However, the most accessible form, industrial lignins, generally has low phenolic hydroxyl content, which severely limits their application value and scenarios. Herein, we showed that potassium-glycerate deep eutectic solvent (PG-DES) treatment can be combined with laccase oxidation to afford prepared high antioxidant lignin nanoparticles (HA-LNPs) with notably improved anti-oxidant activities benefiting from both the enhanced phenolic hydroxyl content 170.8 % and reduced average particle size (59.0 nm). At concentrations as low as 60 µg/mL, HA-LNPs showed favorable effects in promoting collagen formation. When HA-LNPs were used as an active ingredient in the anti-aging mask formulation, the reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging activity of mask samples containing 0.4 % HA-LNPs reached 37.2 %. The data suggest great promise of HA-LNPs as a natural antioxidant for formulating in anti-aging skin care products.
