RESUMO
We report on the first search for Λ[over ¯]-Λ oscillations in the decay J/ψâpK^{-}Λ[over ¯]+c.c. by analyzing 1.31×10^{9} J/ψ events accumulated with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The J/ψ events are produced using e^{+}e^{-} collisions at a center of mass energy sqrt[s]=3.097 GeV. No evidence for hyperon oscillations is observed. The upper limit for the oscillation rate of Λ[over ¯] to Λ hyperons is determined to be P(Λ)=[B(J/ψâpK^{-}Λ+c.c.)/B(J/ψâpK^{-}Λ[over ¯]+c.c.)]<4.4×10^{-6} corresponding to an oscillation parameter δm_{ΛΛ[over ¯]} of less than 3.8×10^{-18} GeV at the 90% confidence level.
RESUMO
Using a sample of about 10^{10} J/ψ events collected at a center-of-mass energy sqrt[s]=3.097 GeV with the BESIII detector, the electromagnetic Dalitz decays J/ψâe^{+}e^{-}π^{+}π^{-}η^{'}, with η^{'}âγπ^{+}π^{-} and η^{'}âπ^{+}π^{-}η, have been studied. The decay J/ψâe^{+}e^{-}X(1835) is observed with a significance of 15σ, and also an e^{+}e^{-} invariant-mass dependent transition form factor of J/ψâe^{+}e^{-}X(1835) is presented for the first time. The intermediate states X(2120) and X(2370) are also observed in the π^{+}π^{-}η^{'} invariant-mass spectrum with significances of 5.3σ and 7.3σ. The corresponding product branching fractions for J/ψâe^{+}e^{-}X, Xâπ^{+}π^{-}η^{'} [X=X(1835), X(2120), and X(2370)] are reported.
RESUMO
The singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay Λ_{c}^{+}ânπ^{+} is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of 7.3σ by using 3.9 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} collision data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.612 and 4.699 GeV with the BESIII detector at BEPCII. The branching fraction of Λ_{c}^{+}ânπ^{+} is measured to be (6.6±1.2_{stat}±0.4_{syst})×10^{-4}. By taking the upper limit of branching fractions of Λ_{c}^{+}âpπ^{0} from the Belle experiment, the ratio of branching fractions between Λ_{c}^{+}ânπ^{+} and Λ_{c}^{+}âpπ^{0} is calculated to be larger than 7.2 at the 90% confidence level, which disagrees with most predictions of the available phenomenological models. In addition, the branching fractions of the Cabibbo-favored decays Λ_{c}^{+}âΛπ^{+} and Λ_{c}^{+}âΣ^{0}π^{+} are measured to be (1.31±0.08_{stat}±0.05_{syst})×10^{-2} and (1.22±0.08_{stat}±0.07_{syst})×10^{-2}, respectively, which are consistent with previous results.
RESUMO
Based on electron-positron collision data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider II storage rings, the value of R≡σ(e^{+}e^{-}âhadrons)/σ(e^{+}e^{-}âµ^{+}µ^{-}) is measured at 14 center-of-mass energies from 2.2324 to 3.6710 GeV. The resulting uncertainties are less than 3.0% and are dominated by systematic uncertainties.
RESUMO
Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb^{-1} collected at a center-of-mass energy sqrt[s]=3.773 GeV by the BESIII detector, the decay D^{0}âωÏ is observed for the first time. The branching fraction is measured to be (6.48±0.96±0.40)×10^{-4} with a significance of 6.3σ, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. An angular analysis reveals that the Ï and ω mesons from the D^{0}âωÏ decay are transversely polarized. The 95% confidence level upper limit on longitudinal polarization fraction is set to be less than 0.24, which is inconsistent with current theoretical expectations and challenges our understanding of the underlying dynamics in charm meson decays.
RESUMO
Using a dataset of 6.32 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} annihilation data collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4178 and 4226 MeV, we have measured the absolute branching fraction of the leptonic decay D_{s}^{+}âτ^{+}ν_{τ} via τ^{+}âe^{+}ν_{e}ν[over ¯]_{τ}, and find B_{D_{s}^{+}âτ^{+}ν_{τ}}=(5.27±0.10±0.12)×10^{-2}, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The precision is improved by a factor of 2 compared to the previous best measurement. Combining with f_{D_{s}^{+}} from lattice quantum chromodynamics calculations or the |V_{cs}| from the CKMfitter group, we extract |V_{cs}|=0.978±0.009±0.012 and f_{D_{s}^{+}}=(251.1±2.4±3.0) MeV, respectively. Combining our result with the world averages of B_{D_{s}^{+}âτ^{+}ν_{τ}} and B_{D_{s}^{+}âµ^{+}ν_{µ}}, we obtain the ratio of the branching fractions B_{D_{s}^{+}âτ^{+}ν_{τ}}/B_{D_{s}^{+}âµ^{+}ν_{µ}}=9.72±0.37, which is consistent with the standard model prediction of lepton flavor universality.
RESUMO
Using 2.93 fb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} collision data taken with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, the observation of the D^{0}âK_{1}(1270)^{-}e^{+}ν_{e} semileptonic decay is presented. The statistical significance of the decay D^{0}âK_{1}(1270)^{-}e^{+}ν_{e} is greater than 10σ. The branching fraction of D^{0}âK_{1}(1270)^{-}e^{+}ν_{e} is measured to be (1.09±0.13_{-0.16}^{+0.09}±0.12)×10^{-3}. Here, the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third originates from the assumed branching fraction of K_{1}(1270)^{-}âK^{-}π^{+}π^{-}. The fraction of longitudinal polarization in D^{0}âK_{1}(1270)^{-}e^{+}ν_{e} is determined for the first time to be 0.50±0.19_{stat}±0.08_{syst}.
RESUMO
The absolute branching fraction of Λâpµ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{µ} is reported for the first time based on an e^{+}e^{-} annihilation sample of 10×10^{9} J/ψ events collected with the BESIII detector at sqrt[s]=3.097 GeV. The branching fraction is determined to be B(Λâpµ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{µ})=[1.48±0.21(stat)±0.08(syst)]×10^{-4}, which is improved by about 30% in precision over the previous indirect measurements. Combining this result with the world average of B(Λâpe^{-}ν[over ¯]_{e}), we obtain the ratio {[Γ(Λâpµ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{µ})]/[Γ(Λâpe^{-}ν[over ¯]_{e})]} to be 0.178±0.028, which agrees with the standard model prediction assuming lepton flavor universality. The asymmetry of the branching fractions of Λâpµ^{-}ν[over ¯]_{µ} and Λ[over ¯]âp[over ¯]µ^{+}ν_{µ} is also determined, and no evidence for CP violation is found.
RESUMO
1. In oesophageal smooth muscle strips from spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) of 8-10 and 22-24 weeks of age, respectively, beta-adrenoceptor-mediated relaxation was investigated, by use of the beta-agonists, (-)-isoprenaline and fenoterol (both in the absence and presence of the beta 2-selective antagonist ICI 118,551) and the selective beta 3-agonist, BRL 37,344. 2. In preparations from 8-10 week SHR, (-)-isoprenaline- and fenoterol-induced concentration-response curves (CRCs) were hardly antagonized by ICI 118,551 at concentrations up to 1 microM, indicating only a minor contribution of beta 2-adrenoceptors. pA2-values for ICI 118,551 of 5.30 ((-)-isoprenaline as agonist) and 5.46 (fenoterol as agonist), estimated from the shifts at the highest (10-100 microM) antagonist concentrations, are consistent with affinity at a beta 3-adrenoceptor, similar to that in Wistar rat oesophageal smooth muscle. 3. In 8-10 week SHR, adrenodemedullated at 4 weeks of age (SHR-ADM4) the potency of fenoterol was markedly increased and CRCs were shallow. In addition, ICI 118,551 (0.1 microM) now produced a clear rightward shift accompanied by a steepening of the CRC. A marked further shift was observed only at 100 microM of the antagonist. The data are compatible with the involvement of both beta 2- and beta 3-adrenoceptors. 4. In 22-24 week animals, the same differences between SHR and SHR-ADM4 were observed with fenoterol as in 8-10 week animals, though beta-adrenoceptor responsiveness was slightly decreased. The potency of ICI 118,551 at beta 3-adrenoceptors (pA2 = 5.11) was significantly different from the pA2 value of 5.46 obtained with the younger animals. 5. Responses to the beta 3-adrenoceptor agonist, BRL 37,344, were similar in Wistar rat and SHR preparations. In 8-10 week SHR, a small decrease in the maximal response was observed, which in animals of 22-24 weeks of age was accompanied by a small decrease in the pEC50 value as well. 6. The results clearly indicate that beta 2-adrenoceptors in SHR oesophageal muscularis mucosae are desensitized, whereas beta 3-adrenoceptor-mediated responses are unaffected and similar to the responses observed in the Wistar rat oesophagus. The functional presence of beta 2-adrenoceptor-responses in SHR-ADM4 suggests a major role for adrenal-derived adrenaline in the desensitization of the beta 2-adrenoceptor-population.

We investigated the effects of cocaine and corticosterone on the noradrenaline-induced relaxation of rat oesophageal smooth muscle in the absence and presence of the selective beta2-antagonist, ICI 111,551. It was found that the concentration-response curve (CRC) of noradrenaline was not shifted by ICI 118,551 at 1 microM, whereas a clear shift to the right was observed at 100 microM of the antagonist. In the presence of corticosterone (10 microM), CRC's were clearly shifted to the left; with cocaine (10 microM) additionally present, a further leftward shift was observed, indicating the involvement of both neuronal and extraneuronal uptake sites. It was concluded that the relaxation of rat oesophageal muscularis mucosae by noradrenaline is solely mediated by beta3-adrenoceptors which are sympathetically innervated.

1. beta-Adrenoceptor-mediated relaxation of rat oesophageal smooth muscle was investigated by studying the effects of beta 1- and beta 2-selective antagonists on the relaxation induced by (-)-isoprenaline, the beta 2-selective agonists fenoterol and clenbuterol and the beta 3-agonist, BRL 37344. 2. The highly beta 1-selective antagonist CGP 20721A did not antagonize (-)-isoprenaline- or BRL 37344-induced relaxations in concentrations up to 10 microM. Only at 100 microM of CGP 20712A were clear rightward shifts of the agonist concentration-response curves (CRCs) observed, with pA2 values of 4.70 and 4.97 against (-)-isoprenaline and BRL 37344, respectively. 3. ICI 118,551, a potent and selective beta 2-antagonist, at 100 nM caused moderate rightward shifts of the CRCs of (-)-isoprenaline, fenoterol and clenbuterol; with fenoterol and clenbuterol, this was accompanied by a clear steepening of the curve. Only at the highest concentration (100 microM ICI 118,551) did the shifts to the right further increase substantially. Resulting Schild-plots were clearly biphasic. BRL 37344-induced relaxations were only antagonized at 100 microM ICI 118,551, yielding a pA2 value of 5.48. 4. These results clearly demonstrate that the BRL 37344-induced relaxation of rat oesophageal muscularis mucosae is mediated solely through beta 3-adrenoceptors, whereas (-)-isoprenaline-, fenoterol- and clenbuterol-induced relaxations were shown to involve both beta 2- and, predominantly, beta 3-adrenoceptors.
