RESUMO
Duas abordagens terapêuticas foram comparadas em referência à resposta de força dos músculos do assoalho pélvico (AFA) segundo a Tabela de ORTIZ. Amostra de 86 mulheres, 4555 anos de idade, com incontinência urinária no climatério, divididas em dois grupos denominados cinesioterapia e cinesioterapia conjugada à imagética, respectivamente. Os grupos praticaram exercícios voltados à melhora de tensão dos músculos do assoalho pélvico, durante 6 meses, 3 sessões semanais de 45 minutos cada. Dados pós-intervenção foram comparados aos de base por estatísticas Chi2 (inferência) e de McNamer (frequências). Índices indicaram o tratamento somente por cinesioterapia resultando em frequências migratórias de algumas mulheres, antes em níveis mais baixos de incontinência, para outros mais altos, com significância estatística (p<0.05) Inversamente, as tratadas pelo mesmo método cinesioterapeutico, mas com associação da imagética migraram para os dois mais baixos da Tabela, com significância estatística (p< 0,0001). A eficácia do tratamento conjugado foi atribuída à prática imagética.
ABSTRACT
Two therapeutic approaches were compared in reference to the strength response of the pelvic floor muscles (AFA), regarded to the ORTIZ Table. Sample of 86 women, aged 45-55 years, with urinary incontinence in climacteric, divided into two groups called Kinesiotherapy and Kinesiotherapy combined with imagery practice, respectively. Groups practiced exercises aimed at improving tension of the pelvic floor muscles, 6 months, 3 weekly sessions of 45 minutes each. Post-intervention data were compared to baseline one by Chi2 (inference) and McNamara (frequencies) statistic. Indices indicated the Kinesiotherapy treatment resulting in women frequencies migration from lower levels of incontinence to a higher level, withstatistical significance (p <0.05). Conversely, those treated by the same method of Kinesiotherapy, but associated with imagery obtained 100% of women migration to the two lowest levels of the Table, also with statistical significance (p <0.0001). The efficacy of combined treatment was discussed as related to mental imagery practice.
