ABSTRACT

A novel composite photocatalyst based on Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) powders was synthesized and investigated for use as a photocatalyst. CZTS powders were first made using a conventional hydrothermal method and were then used to grow silver nanoparticles hybridized onto the CZTS under various conditions through a microwave-assisted hydrothermal process. After the obtained samples were subsequently mixed with 1T-2H MoS2, the three synthesized component samples were characterized using X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy (FE-SEM, FE-TEM), UV-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET), photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The resulting samples were also used as photocatalysts for the degradation of methylene blue (MB) under a 300 W halogen lamp simulating sunlight with ~5% UV light. The photodegradation ability was greatly enhanced by the addition of Ag and 1T-2H MoS2. Excellent photodegradation of MB was obtained under visible light. The effects of material characteristics on the photodegradation were investigated and discussed.

ABSTRACT

The performance of hybrid perovskite-based light-emitting diodes (LEDs) is markedly enhanced by the application of a NiOx electrode interlayer and moderate methylamine treatment. A hybrid perovskite-based LED exhibits a peak luminous efficiency of 15.9 cd A-1 biased at 8.5 V, 407.65 mA cm-2 , and 65 300 cd m-2 , showing a distinctive impact for future applications.

ABSTRACT

In our study, one-dimensional PbI2/polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) composition fibers have been prepared by using PbI2 and PVP as precursors dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide via a electrospinning process. Dipping the fibers into CH3NH3I solution changed its color, indicating the formation of CH3NH3PbI3, to obtain CH3NH3PbI3/PVP composite fibers. The structure, morphology and composition of the all as-prepared fibers were characterized by using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy.

ABSTRACT

Chalcopyrite quaternary semiconductor Cu(In(x)B(1-x))Se(2) nanocrystals have been successfully prepared via a relatively simple and convenient solvothermal route. The effect of different solvents on the formation of the product also indicates that diethylenetriamine is the optimal solvent for this reaction. The device parameters for a single junction Cu(In(x)B(1-x))Se(2) solar cell under AM1.5G are as follows: an open circuit voltage of 265 mV, a short-circuit current of 25.90 mA/cm(2), a fill factor of 34%, and a power conversion efficiency of 2.34%. Based on a series of comparative experiments under different reaction conditions, the probable formation mechanism of crystal Cu(In(x)B(1-x))Se(2) nanorods is proposed.

ABSTRACT

Supported catalysts with controllable solubility were obtained by partial hydrolysis and derivatization of (MeO)3 Si(CH2 )11 N3 . The soluble Pd complex 1 thus obtained undergoes further hydrolysis to give an insoluble supported complex. Both materials are effective catalysts for the cyclotrimerization of alkynes. Hence, this methodology allows the soluble analogue of a heterogeneous catalyst to be studied by high-resolution solution NMR spectroscopy. TMS=SiMe3 , py=2-pyridyl.
