ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Considering the importance and necessity of establishing a nationwide information system for health grey literature in Iran, this study aimed to identify the main dimensions and components needed for developing a health grey literature information system in Iran and validate them according to experts' opinions. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A mixed-method approach with an exploratory sequential design was used in this study. The research was done in following main steps: (1) conducting a systematic literature review to identify the potential components of the health grey literature information system suggested in the literature, (2) Interviewing 19 experts to explore further components required for designing the health grey literature system for Iran and doing a thematic analysis for analyzing the interviews, and (3) validating the identified components by a Delphi panel in two rounds for finalizing the initially-approved dimensions and components. Descriptive statistical analysis was also used for analyzing the Delphi panel's data. RESULTS: Eight dimensions were identified as necessary for developing Iran's health grey literature information system (including 31 components and 111 elements). The main dimensions included goals, data sources, minimum data set, data collection techniques, data content management procedures, quality control approaches, stakeholders, and management and policy-making. CONCLUSION: Using the identified and validated functional components in this study can be helpful In designing a health grey literature system that is of value for health policymakers and medical researchers as well as health information users.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: This study is to identify the apps used by pregnant women during the technology era and to choose the best app from the point of view of pregnant women and experts. METHODS: The article is a research article that uses PRISMA flowchart. Given that there are many apps in the field of pregnancy and due to technological advances, the articles of the last 13 years that have been scientifically published in the databases of Google Scholar, PubMed, and Science Direct have been analyzed. The most widely used and, at the same time, the best app is introduced in terms of its high usability in users' attitude. Finally, Apps will be compared in terms of accuracy, precision, and usability of the dimensions of Jacob Nielsen's five principles. RESULTS: According to the search strategy, 23 articles were identified qualitatively by reviewing both authors. Then, the types of apps were divided into three general categories, pregnant entertainment apps, pregnant information apps, and monitoring apps for mothers' physical health. Finally, 10 apps were selected and the Amila app was introduced as the best due to its high usability (Effectiveness %66.66) and users' satisfaction or women's choice (%98). CONCLUSION: Using trusted apps to maintain their health and reduce traffic will be very important. Given that this research article was written with the aim of choosing the best app, that not only provides the required information to mothers, but also the ability to interact with doctors and specialists.

ABSTRACT

Background: Kidney and ureter stones are the third pathologies in urological diseases. Less invasive treatments such as transureteral lithotripsy and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy are used to treat ureteral stones. Data mining has provided the possibility of improving decision-making in choosing the optimal treatment. In this paper predictive models for the detection of ureter stone treatment (first model) and its outcome (second model) is developed based on the patient's demographic, clinical, and laboratory factors. Methods and Material: In this cross-sectional study a questionnaire was used to identify the most effective features in the predictive models, and Information on 440 patients was collected. The models were constructed using machine learning techniques (Multilayer perceptron, Classification, and regression tree, k-nearest neighbors, Support vector machine, Naïve Bayes classifier, Random Forest, and AdaBoost) in the Bigpro1 analytical system. Results: Among the Holdout and K-fold cross-validation methods used, the Holdout method showed better performance. From the data-based balancing methods used in the second model, the Synthetic Minority oversampling technique showed better performance. Also, the AdaBoost algorithm had the best performance. In this algorithm, accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, precision, F- measure, and Area under the carve in the first model were 89%, 87%, 91%, 90%, 89%, and 94% respectively, and in the second model were 81%, 81%, 82%, 84%, 82%, and 85% respectively. Conclusions: The results were promising and showed that the data mining techniques could be a powerful assistant for urologists to predict a surgical outcome and also to choose an appropriate surgical treatment for removing ureter stones.

BACKGROUND: Given the effective role of a mobile applications in disease management, disease monitoring, and self-care in patients with COVID-19 disease, we aimed to design, development and evaluation of a self-care Mobile app for COVID-19 patients not requiring hospitalization. METHODS: The design, development and evaluation the usability of the self-care and education mobile app for patients with COVID-19 disease were conducted in two main phases at 2021 in Northwest of IRAN; (1) Determine the features and capabilities and (2) Design, development and evaluation of self-care mobile App. JAVA programming languages and Android Operating System were used and selected to design and development of a mobile app. There were 25 participants who conducted evaluations of the mobile app's usability and impact using the mobile health app usability a Questionnaire of User Interface Satisfaction was administered to assess the usability of the developed application. The results were analyzed via Excel 2013. RESULTS: The model of developing a mobile app as an Information System was the Waterfall model. The smartphone application based on a set of capabilities and features was designed and consists of two main parts: the login screen for user registration, and the main home menu. The user interface includes three main pages or activities; (a) Main Menu for quick access to all of the pages, (b) Symptom management and monitoring to monitor the signs and symptoms during the illness, and (c) Set Reminders and Alarms to notify patients. The users' mean score of the application usability was calculated as 7.91 out of 9 indicating a good level of satisfaction. CONCLUSION: This app can be a guideline and a useful tools for managing and monitoring symptoms, reminding medications, and implementing self-care instructions in outpatients. The authors suggest evaluating the efficacy and functionality test of mobile-based applications for COVID-19 in clinical trial studies.

BACKGROUND: Liver transplantation, the last treatment for advanced liver failure, necessitates patient education due to its wide range of complications and subsequent disabilities. The present study was development-applied research and aimed to design a mobile-based educational program to provide liver transplant patients with critical health information. METHODS: In the first phase of the study, the crucial educational components were collected from the literature and organized in the form of a questionnaire using library studies and available global guidelines. The validity and reliability of this researcher-made questionnaire were confirmed by a panel of experts (n = 15), including gastroenterologists and liver specialists working in the Motahari liver clinic and AbuAli Sina Hospital in Shiraz. The application was designed followed by analyzing the data gathered from the first phase. To evaluate the mobile phone program's usability, to evaluate the application, 30 liver transplant patients were randomly selected. RESULTS: Most educational components covered in the questionnaire were deemed necessary by experts in the first phase. As a result, the educational contents were classified under 10 categories. The application had a good level of usability since the participants' satisfaction score was 8.1 (out of 9 points). CONCLUSIONS: Due to the increase in liver transplantation and the use of mobile phones, applications increase the patient's role in their health, and their awareness. It also leads to a better interaction and follow-up of the patient, the treatment staff of the medical centers.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Celiac disease is a major public health problem in many countries, including Iran. Considering the disease's exponential spread throughout the world and its risk factors, identifying the educational priorities and minimum data required to control and treat the disease is of great significance. METHODS: The present study was conducted in two phases in 2022. In the first phase, a questionnaire was developed based on the information obtained from a review of the literature. Later, the questionnaire was administered to 12 pundits in the fields of nutrition (n = 5), internal medicine (n = 4), and gastroenterology (n = 3). As a result, the necessary and important educational content was determined for developing the Celiac Self-Care System. RESULTS: According to the experts' viewpoints, the educational needs of patients were classified into nine categories of demographic information, clinical information, long-term complications, comorbidity, tests, medications, dietary recommendations, general recommendations, technical capabilities as well as 105 subcategories. CONCLUSIONS: Due to the increased prevalence of Celiac disease and the lack of an established minimum set of data, determining the required educational information is of great importance at the national level. Such information could be useful in implementing educational health programs to raise the public level of awareness. In the field of education, such contents can be employed in planning new technology based on mobile phones (mobile health), preparing registries, and producing widely used content.

BACKGROUND: Infertility has been considered as a critical health problem for couples and society. Given the worldwide exponential rise of infertility, mobile phone-based applications are drastic ways to deliver nutrition educational content to women with infertility. The present study aimed to prepare the required educational content for designing a mobile phone-based nutrition educational application for women with infertility. METHODS: Educational contents were initially determined based on the literature review and library studies. As a result, a researcher-made questionnaire was designed containing 28 items in six dimensions. To ensure about the questionnaire's validity, a panel of experts (15 nutritionists and 5 infertility specialists) was asked to review the items, make revisions (if necessary), and confirm the final contents. The questionnaire reliability was also corroborated using the KR-20 coefficient (0.89). RESULTS: While the amount of consumed calories per meal and between meals were not significantly effective on fertility, factors such as main definitions, disease and treatment instructions, personal activities and habits, and menstruation were deemed necessary by the respondents. Participants also suggested adding sections entailing introductions to different types of diets, users' suggestions and opinions, and of the address and contact information of senior nutrition centers to the questionnaire. CONCLUSIONS: Followed by obtaining the required valid and reliable contents, a mobile phone- based nutrition education application can be designed to improve the patients' knowledge and facilitate their treatment process.

Objective: Currently, population growth and increasing life expectancy are becoming one of the biggest public health challenges in the world, which has increased the prevalence of chronic diseases such as end-stage renal disease and the need for kidney transplantation. The use of a variety of registries has the potential to determine the effectiveness of clinical care and costs and improve the quality of patient care. The aim of this study is to design minimum data set to develop a kidney transplantation registry in Iran to improve the quality of care for people with end-stage renal disease. Methods: The present research is descriptive-applied. The minimum data set was reviewed and evaluated in expert panel meetings. The various elements of the minimum data set were discussed, and specialists in urology, nephrology, health information management, and medical informatics presented their views. Results: The characteristics of the kidney transplantation registry in the form of eight axes of purpose, structure, data sources, minimum data set, classification systems, data processing and reporting, distribution and access to information, and data quality were extracted and finally these characteristics were approved by experts. The relevant tables were validated and were within the acceptable range from the point of view of experts. Conclusion: In developing a kidney transplantation registry in Iran, the necessary requirements and features for designing a web-based registry have been considered. The prototype of this registry in the country will help to collect higher quality data. It is hoped that by developing this registry, a step will be taken to better manage the information on people with end-stage renal disease, provide better services to these patients, and facilitate related research.

ABSTRACT

Background and Objective: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is one of the most prevalent causes of death worldwide. The early diagnosis and timely medical care of cardiovascular patients can greatly prevent death and reduce the cost of treatments associated with CAD. In this study, we attempt to prepare a new model for early CAD diagnosis. The proposed model can diagnose CAD based on clinical data and without the use of an invasive procedure. Methods: In this paper, machine-learning (ML) techniques were used for the early detection of CAD, which were applied to a CAD dataset known as Z-Alizadeh Sani. Since this dataset has 54 features, the Pearson correlation feature selection method was conducted to identify the most effective features. Then, six machine learning techniques including decision tree, deep learning, logistic regression, random forest, support vector machine (SVM), and Xgboost were employed based on a semi-random-partitioning framework. Result: Applying Pearson feature selection to the dataset demonstrated that only eight features were the most effective for CAD diagnosis. The results of running the six machine-learning models on the selected features showed that logistic regression and SVM had the same performance with 95.45% accuracy, 95.91% sensitivity, 91.66% specificity, and a 96.90% F1 score. In addition, the ROC curve indicates a similar result regarding the AUC (0.98). Conclusions: Prediction is an important component of medical decision support systems. The results of the present study showed that feature selection has a high impact on machine-learning performance and, regardless of the evaluation metrics of the machine-learning models, determining the effective features is very important. However, SVM and Logistic Regression were designated as the best models according to our selected features.

Background: Cervical cancer is the fifth most deadly cancer in women in Iran. The present study aimed to investigate the monetary value of cervical cancer screening benefits from a social perspective. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 480 women aged 30 to 59 years in Mazandaran province, Iran, from 2020-21. The willingness to pay (WTP) for screening tests- Pap smear and simultaneous tests- was investigated using a researcher-made questionnaire based on the contingent valuation method (CVM) in 2 separate sample groups. The first group received basic information regarding cervical cancer (Scenario 1), while the second received complementary information in addition to basic knowledge (Scenario 2). Multivariate regression was applied to examine factors affecting WTP and the difference between the mean WTP in 2 scenarios was analyzed by a t-test. Results: The mean WTP of Pap smear and simultaneous tests was estimated at US$135.08 and US$160.19, respectively. There were significant and negative relationships between age and household size with the WTP of the Pap smear test. The number of people with income, household expenses, a chronic illness, and suggested base price indicated significant and positive effects on WTP of the Pap smear test. The number of people with income and household expenses showed significant and positive relationships with the WTP of simultaneous tests. There was no significant difference between the mean WTP of each group and the demand for screening tests was not elastic. Conclusion: The mean WTP of screening tests is notable when compared to their cost, demonstrating the need of concentrating on screening programs.

BACKGROUND: Golestan Population-based Cancer Registry (GPCR) with more than 15-years experiences developed an in-house online software called Cancer Data Collection and Processing (CanDCap) to improve its data collection operations from the conventional offline method to new online method. We aimed to report the methods and framework that GPCR applied to design and implementation of the CanDCap. METHODS: CanDCap was designed based on International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) protocols and standards and according to the GPCR workflow. CanDCap has two parts including a web-based online part for data collection and a windows-based part for data processing consisting of quality control and deduplication of repeated records. Questionnaire for User Interface Satisfaction (QUIS) was used in order to assess user interaction satisfaction. RESULTS: CanDCap was implemented in 2018 and could improve the quality of the GPCR data during its first three years of activity (2018-2020), during which about 9,000 records were registered. The coverage for optional items including national ID, father name, address and telephone number were improved from 23 %, 32 %, 83 % and 82 % in conventional offline method (2015-2017) to 83 %, 81 %, 87 %, and 90 % after using the CanDCap (2018-2020), respectively. The timeliness was also improved from 4 years to 2 years. Overall, user interaction satisfaction was acceptable (7.8 out of 9). CONCLUSION: CanDCap could resulted in improvement in data quality and timeliness of the GPCR as a cancer registry unit with limited resources. It has the potential to be considered as a model for population-based cancer registries in lower-resource settings.

ABSTRACT

The present study aims to systematically review the women's knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of breast cancer (BC) screening methods to get enough information for policymakers to orient the screening strategies. All English KAP studies on BC screening methods in five databases up to January 2021 were included. The quality of the final articles was assessed using the STROBE checklist. The qualitative synthesis was performed. Out of 5574 retrieved articles, 28 were included. About 64% of the articles were of high quality. Overall, there were poor knowledge, negative attitude, and low practice between women. The educational programs and cultural plans can encourage regular screening. Women's excessive optimism to their BC risk should be eliminated by focusing on the risk of the disease, more.

BACKGROUND: Prediction of graft survival for Kidney Transplantation (KT) is considered a risky task due to the scarcity of donating organs and the use of health care resources. The present study aimed to design and evaluate a smartphone-based application to predict the survival of KT in patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). METHOD: Based on the initial review, a researcher-made questionnaire was developed to assess the information needs of the application through urologists and nephrologists. By using information obtained from the questionnaire, a checklist was prepared, and the information of 513 patients with kidney failure was collected from their records at Sina Urological Research Center. Then, three data mining algorithms were applied to them. The smartphone-based application for the prediction of kidney transplant survival was designed, and a standard usability assessment questionnaire was used to evaluate the designed application. RESULTS: Three information elements related to the required data in different sections of demographic information, sixteen information elements related to patient clinical information, and four critical capabilities were determined for the design of the smartphone-based application. C5.0 algorithm with the highest accuracy (87.21%) was modeled as the application inference engine. The application was developed based on the PhoneGap framework. According to the participants' scores (urologists and nephrologists) regarding the usability evaluation of the application, it can be concluded that both groups participating in the study could use the program, and they rated the application at a "good" level. CONCLUSION: Since the overall performance or usability of the smartphone-based app was evaluated at a reasonable level, it can be used with certainty to predict kidney transplant survival.

Background: Using Minimum Data Set (MDS) is the first step in creating and developing a health care information system; it includes standard and key data elements to capture and manage patient care. Aims: This study aimed to develop an MDS in order for using it for designing registry of patients with rheumatoid arthritis in Iran. Methods: This study was conducted at two stages in 2018. In stage one, qualitative method and semi-structured interview were used to identify the registry data elements of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Collected data was analysed using content analysis method. In stage two, using Delphi method, the developed data set was revised and validated by 15 rheumatologists. Descriptive statistics using SPSS software was used to analyse the data in Delphi. Results: The final MDS included 22 data elements, which were divided into two major categories of management data (including demographic data, and admission and discharge) and clinical data (including patient examination, treatment plans, and medication prescribed by physician). Conclusion: Minimum data set is one of the standard data collection tools playing an important role in health care data management. This study presented a MDS as a platform for creating a rheumatoid arthritis registry system in Iran recommended by rheumatologists.

BACKGROUND: The prevalence of infertility in Iran is higher than the world average. Furthermorte, education and nutrition are among the effective factors in improving the quality of life of women with infertility. According to the significant role of smartphones in people's lives as well as health education, the present study aimed to design and evaluate a mobile-based nutrition education application for infertile women. METHODS: This quantitative research was conducted in two stages. Initially, the educational contents were determined based on a review of the literature. Later, the obtained contents were given to 10 nutritionists and five infertility specialists to determine the necessity of each item. In the next stage, the application prototype was designed based on the results of the first stage and distributed among 220 infertile women. After two months, the Questionnaire of User Interface Satisfaction was administrated to assess the usability of the developed application. The results were analyzed via SPSS software version 20. RESULTS: According to the nutritionists and infertility specialists, the contents determined for the nutrition educational application were categorized under three general sections of user's demographic data, educational contents, required capabilities. The users' mean score of the application usability was calculated as 7.44 out of 9 indicating a good level of satisfaction. CONCLUSIONS: Nutrition education of women with infertility problems can play a significant role in improving their awareness and treatment outcomes. Due to the increasing use of smartphones, designing a mobile-based nutrition educational application can be of great benefit for women with infertility according to the cultural conditions and characteristics of each community.

BACKGROUND: Despite the importance of health grey literature, there is not a comprehensive information system for managing these valuable resources in Iran. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed at identifying the barriers to and facilitators of implementing a comprehensive national information system for health grey literature. MATERIAL AND METHOD: This study applied the qualitative research method. Semi-structured interviews were conducted among 19 experts in related fields. A qualitative content analysis was used to analyze the data in MAXQDA. The data were codified and revised constantly and classified in some selected main and sub-categories based on their relative similarities and differences. RESULTS: Data analysis identified some barriers to the implementation of an information system for health grey literature in Iran, including two main categories (and some sub-categories): managerial issues (performance related issues, coordination issues, monitoring and supervision issues and attitudinal issues) and issues on data integration (data collecting issues, data recording issues, quality control issues, and issues on data organization, dissemination and use). CONCLUSION: Designing a national system for health grey literature in Iran needs a powerful authority, removing possible intersectional conflicts, a selection committee, written policies and strict quality control criteria, and protocols for storage, access, retrieval and metadata evaluation.

Introduction: Child malnutrition in all forms is known globally as the leading cause of poor health. Planning and solving this challenge require sources that collect data accurately. Nutrition surveillance systems (NSS), nutrition registry systems (NRS) and nutrition information systems (NIS) collect and analyse data on nutrition status. Unfortunately, these systems only exist in a few countries. The methods that these systems use significantly differ and their effectiveness is also scarcely researched. This scoping literature review aimed to conduct a survey on NSS, NRS and NIS that collect data on children's nutrition at national and international levels, along with their attributes. Methods and analysis: The methods and analyses of this scoping review follow the Arksey and O'Malley's methodology. This scoping literature review will be conducted in five stages based on this method. (1) The main research question and subquestions are identified. (2) Relevant studies are extracted. In this step, we will search electronic databases including PubMed, Scopus and ISI Web of Science. A manual search will also be performed in Google Scholar, grey literature, and the websites of organisations such as WHO, UNICEF, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Health Service, International Food Policy Research Institute, Food and Agriculture Organization, Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance, United Nations World Food Programme, and United Nations System Standing Committee on Nutrition. (3) Extracted studies are separately reviewed by two reviewers based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and eligible studies are then selected. A third reviewer resolves disagreements. (4) A checklist is developed to extract the features. Data of included systems are separately extracted and entered into a checklist by two reviewers. A third reviewer then resolves any disagreement. (5) Data are summarised and analysed and are presented in tables and figures. Discussion: This scoping literature review provides strong evidence of the status of systems that collect data on the status of child nutrition. This evidence can help select best practices which can be applied to develop future systems. It can also be a positive step towards achieving an integrated system.

BACKGROUND: Nearly 56% of at-risk carriers are not identified and missed as a result of the current family-history (FH) screening for genetic testing. The present study aims to review the economic evaluation studies on BRCA genetic testing strategies for screening and early detection of breast cancer. METHODS: This systematic literature review is conducted within the Cochrane Library, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, ProQuest, and EMBASE databases. In this paper, the relevant published economic evaluation studies are identified by following the standard Cochrane Collaboration methods and adherence to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement reporting some recommendations for articles up to March 2020. Thereafter, the inclusion and exclusion criteria are applied to screen the articles. Disagreements are resolved through a consensus meeting. The Consolidated Health Economic Evaluation Reporting Standards (CHEERS) checklist is used in the evaluation of quality. Finally, a narrative synthesis is performed. To compare the different levels of incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER), the net present value is calculated based on a discount rate of 3% in 2019. RESULTS: Among 788 initially retrieved citations, 12 studies were included. More than 60% of the studies were originated from high-income countries and were published after 2016. It is noteworthy that most of the studies evaluated the payer perspective. Moreover, the robustness of the results were analyzed through one-way and probabilistic sensitivity analyses in nearly 66% of these studies. Nearly, 25% of the studies are focused and defined population-based and family history BRCA tests as comparators; afterwards, the cost-effectiveness of the former was confirmed. The highest and lowest absolute values for the ICERs were $65,661 and $9 per quality adjusted life years, respectively. All studies met over 70% of the CHEERs criteria checklist, which was considered as 93% of high quality on average as well. CONCLUSIONS: The genetic BRCA tests for the general population as well as unselected breast cancer patients were cost-effective in high and upper-middle income countries and those with prevalence of gene mutation while population-based genetic tests for low-middle income countries are depended on the price of the tests.

ABSTRACT

Background: The Willingness to pay (WTP) for and acceptance of cervical cancer prevention (CCP) methods have an important role in the control of this type of cancer. Therefore, the aim of this study was to estimate the WTP and acceptance of CCP methods with the contingent valuation method (CVM). Methods: In this systematic review and meta-analysis study, the required information was collected by searching relevant keywords in PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Web of Knowledge, and their Persian equivalent in the Scientific Information Database (SID) and Elmnet databases during January 1, 2000 to June 30, 2020. All studies that reported the WTP and CCP methods with the CVM in English or Persian were included. The reporting quality of studies was assessed by strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE). Comprehensive meta-analysis (CMA: 2) software was used to conduct the meta-analysis. The content analysis method was used for qualitative data analysis. Results: Finally, 28 articles (with 49610 people) were included in the study. Most of the participants were women (35.7%). The HPV vaccine was the most common method of prevention (75%). The overall acceptance rate was 64% and the overall positive WTP rate was 66%. The average WTP was US$30.44, which accounts for about 0.84% of GDP per capita. The most significant effective factors included income, age, education, high-risk sexual behaviors, and awareness of cervical cancer, belief in the risk of cervical cancer, and belief about the effectiveness of prevention methods. The cost was the most important reason for the unwillingness to pay and accept. Conclusion: Results show that the WTP and acceptance rate of CCP methods are relatively high. It is recommended to reduce the cost of prevention methods, especially the HPV vaccine, and to increase awareness and improve the attitude of people. Also, it is recommended to consider other methods of estimation of WTP and other cancers in future studies.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: Considering inconclusive data regarding the possible effects of mobile applications on anthropometric measures (e.g. body mass index (BMI), body weight, waist circumference, fat mass) and physical activity (e.g. steps or METS) in paediatric subjects, the present systematic review was conducted to clarify this issue. METHODS: Online databases including PubMed, Scopus, ISI Web of Science, Embase, and Ovid were searched, and also a hand search through Google Scholar, PsycINFO, and grey literature was done up to December 2020 to find all relevant studies. RESULTS: Nine studies were included in this review (n = 978 participants). Five of the studies utilized a mobile app as an independent intervention. Using mobile applications resulted in a lower body mass index in two studies, while only one study reported a decrease in body weight. Besides, significant improvement in physical activity as evidenced by higher step count was reported by only one study. CONCLUSION: Nevertheless, the findings from these primary studies, although slightly mixed, provide support for further research with the implementation of mobile apps as an additional approach for combating childhood obesity. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS: We recommend to raise attention towards and interest in the mobile app for childhood obesity prevention and treatment.
