ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Although biologic agents are very effective, long-term comparative studies demonstrating their safety relative to one another are still lacking. METHODS: A total of 124 patients with psoriasis were followed up for 30 months; 74 received anti-TNF-alpha inhibitors (adalimumab, etanercept, infliximab), 33 were on ustekinumab, and 17 were treated with secukinumab. The rates of adverse events in these groups were recorded and statistically analyzed. RESULTS: Infliximab-treated patients showed a high occurrence of asymptomatic, but increased liver enzymes, fatigue, and respiratory as well as dermatologic infections. Adalimumab-treated patients were more often affected by musculoskeletal disorders and infections of all types. Patients treated with secukinumab presented with higher rates of cardiovascular disorders as well as respiratory and dermatologic infections. The group receiving etanercept was more often diagnosed with musculoskeletal and reproductive disorders, specifically menstrual disorders. The rates of therapy discontinuation and serious adverse events did not reach statistically significant values. CONCLUSION: A higher incidence of adverse events was observed among adalimumab-, and infliximab-treated patients, with ustekinumab found to have the safest profile. Our results demonstrate that a personalized approach, including evaluation of a patient's risk profile, is necessary before commencing a biologic. Further research is warranted to confirm the findings of our study.

ABSTRACT

Interleukin-17A therapeutic inhibitors are among the most effective treatment methods for moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis (PP). Reflectance confocal microscopy is a non-invasive imaging technique already documented to be beneficial in evaluating the follow-up of PP under treatment with topical actives and phototherapy. This study aimed to assess the epidermal and dermal changes associated with psoriasis and its treatment with RCM during systemic secukinumab treatment in patients with moderate-to-severe PP. A pilot study was conducted to evaluate RCM as a non-invasive tool for monitoring secukinumab treatment in patients with PP. For patients receiving secukinumab treatment, lesional skin was selected for RCM imaging, which were recorded at all scheduled times. The RCM evaluation criteria were established based on the histopathological diagnostic criteria for psoriasis. The clinical severity of psoriasis was assessed utilizing the psoriasis area severity index. A total of 23 patients with PP were included in the study. Each patient received 300 mg of subcutaneous secukinumab as induction therapy at baseline and weeks 1-4, followed by maintenance therapy every four weeks. Microscopic confocal changes were observed during the treatment. The results identified early microscopic evidence of the anti-inflammatory activity of secukinumab, which was not detected during the clinical examination. RCM findings correlating with the PASI were used to observe the patient's response to treatment and were identified as follows: acanthosis and parakeratosis, presence of epidermal and dermal inflammatory cells, presence of non-edge dermal papillae, and vascularization in the papillary dermis. This study is the first to demonstrate the use of RCM as an effective tool for non-invasive monitoring of secukinumab therapeutic response at a cellular level in a clinical or research setting. Early detection of RCM parameters associated with secukinumab activity may facilitate the identification of an early treatment response. RCM appears to be capable of providing practical and helpful information regarding follow-up in patients with PP undergoing secukinumab treatment. RCM may also provide novel perspectives on the subclinical evaluation of PP's response to biological therapy.

ABSTRACT

Palhano et al. demonstrate the feasibility of incorporating secukinumab and ustekinumab into the Clinical Protocol and Therapeutic Guidelines for moderate to severe psoriasis in pediatric patients. OBJECTIVE: Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the impact of secukinumab and ustekinumab against moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in a Brazilian pediatric population with access to public healthcare. METHODS: A survey of immunobiological treatments registered for use against pediatric psoriasis at the National Health Surveillance Agency was conducted. These treatments were compared to the list available in the same treatment category in the public health system through the Clinical Protocol and Therapeutic Guidelines for psoriasis. A quantitative analysis of the data of patients treated with immunobiological drugs the previous year in accordance with the Clinical Protocol and Therapeutic Guidelines was performed using data available in the DATASUS portal. RESULTS: The public budget impact scenarios analyzed were comparable to the investment already planned for acquiring the only available drug option. CONCLUSION: The incorporation of two therapeutic options in the Clinical Protocol and Therapeutic Guidelines list for moderate-to-severe pediatric psoriasis was feasible in a horizon of 5 years compared to the investment into the single option available to pediatric patients. These findings can facilitate the local analysis of budgetary impact and discussions on the feasibility of this therapeutic incorporation at the state level. Incorporation of secukinumab and ustekinumab was economically feasible. These drugs are options for those who do not respond to or have contraindications to etanercept.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Biologics are essential in treating psoriasis. In recent years, the pathogenesis exploration and development of new target drugs have provided a more complete evidence-based foundation for the biological treatment of psoriasis. This study aims to use bibliometrics to analyze the research status and development trends of biologics in psoriasis. METHODS: The bibliometric analysis of publications related to biologics in psoriasis from 2004 to 2023 was conducted using the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database as the search data source. To perform the bibliometric analysis and create visual knowledge graphs, CiteSpace, the Bibliometrix R package, and VOSviewers were utilized. RESULTS: The study included a total of 3800 articles. The United States had the highest number of publications. The leading authors and institutions were Steven R. Feldman and the University of Manchester, respectively, in the global partnership. The cluster plot divided all keywords into 11 categories. Currently, Secukinumab and Guselkumab are representative biological agents being studied due to their considerable efficacy and long-term safety. CONCLUSIONS: Targeted therapy has emerged as a significant trend in the current treatment of psoriasis. Early and active use of biologics can effectively control disease progression, prevent or delay the occurrence of comorbidities, and may even alter the natural course of psoriasis. However, further investigation is required to fully understand the specific mechanisms of psoriasis and the use of biological agents.

ABSTRACT

Streptococcal infections may contribute to psoriasis development, and antistreptococcal treatments are considered potential therapies, but their effectiveness remains uncertain due to limited systematic evidence. Our objective was to analyze antistreptococcal therapies' effectiveness in improving psoriasis. We conducted a systematic review following PRISMA guidelines, evaluating antistreptococcal treatment efficacy in psoriasis patients from PubMed, Scopus, and Embase databases until August 14, 2022. Eligible studies included psoriasis patients undergoing antistreptococcal therapy, regardless of demographics or psoriasis type. 50 studies (1778 patients) were analyzed, with penicillins/aminopenicillins as the most studied antibiotics (21 studies), showing mixed outcomes, some reporting significant improvement in guttate psoriasis, while others showed no significant difference. Rifampin demonstrated positive results in most of ten studies, and macrolides showed varying effectiveness in two studies. Tonsillectomy in 14 studies (409 patients) mainly focusing on guttate and chronic plaque psoriasis showed positive outcomes, indicating improved symptoms and quality of life. Limitations include heterogeneous studies, sampling bias, and quality of evidence. This systematic review reveals limited and varied evidence for systemic antibiotic therapy efficacy in psoriasis treatment, while tonsillectomy emerges as a potentially beneficial antistreptococcal option, urging further well-designed, controlled studies with larger sample sizes and standardized protocols for better comparisons.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: TYK2 inhibitors and traditional natural drugs as promising drugs for psoriasis therapy are receiving increasing attention. They both affect different molecules of JAK/STAT pathway, but it is currently unclear whether their combination will enhance the effect on psoriasis. In this study, we used imiquimod (IMQ)-induced psoriasis mouse model to investigate the therapeutic effects of the combined administration of deucravacitinib (TYK2 inhibitor) and shikonin. METHODS: Aldara cream containing 5% IMQ was used to topically treat the dorsal skin of each mouse for a total of six consecutive days to induce psoriasis. The psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) scores were recorded every day. On the 7th day, skin tissues were taken for histopathological examination and the content of cytokines in skin were evaluated. The frequency of immune cells in peripheral blood, spleen and skin were detected through flow cytometry. RESULTS: Compared to the vehicle control group, the psoriasis symptoms and immune disorder improved significantly in the combination therapy group and deucravacitinib treatment group on the 7th day, and the expressions of p-STAT3 and Ki67 in skin were reduced as well. Moreover, the combined treatment of deucravacitinib and shikonin for psoriasis was superior to the monotherapy group, especially in inhibiting abnormal capillaries proliferation, reducing immune cells infiltration and decreasing the concentration of IL-12p70 in skin. CONCLUSION: The combination of deucravacitinib and shikonin is a promising clinical application.

ABSTRACT

Background: Psoriasis is a widespread chronic, immune-mediated skin disease with frequent recurrences, and is extremely harmful to the physical and mental health of patients, causing enormous suffering and exerting considerable economic burdens on the health care system as a whole. In more than a decade of clinical use, the optimized formula of Yinxieling (PSORI-CM01) has consistently demonstrated its effectiveness for treating psoriasis. However, its underlying mechanism remains largely unexplored. Methods: The network pharmacology analysis was conducted to predict the mechanism and protective effect of PSORI-CM01 in treating psoriasis. Subsequently, we collected blood samples from 21 patients with psoriasis as part of a randomized, double-blind, and double-dummy clinical trial for microRNA expression profiling. Finally, it was experimentally confirmed that PSORI-CM01 improved psoriasis by regulating miR-20a-3p and miR-3184-3p expression. Results: As a result of the network pharmacology analysis, PSORI-CM01 improved psoriasis through the regulation of autophagy, cellular apoptosis, cellular proliferation, and anti-inflammatory processes. In the target-miRNA regulatory network, these key targets were mainly associated with the regulation of hsa-miR-20a-3p, hsa-miR-155-5p, has-miR-3184-3p, hsa-miR-328-3p and hsa-miR-124-3p. Based on the microRNA expression profiling results, the PSORI-CM01 treatment group exhibited five up-regulated genes and 16 down-regulated genes compared with the healthy control group. In particular, miR-20a-3p and miR-3184-3p were the primary differentially expressed microRNAs, and they were significantly enriched in the signaling pathways involving autophagy, apoptosis, proliferation, and anti-inflammation. Further experiments confirmed that PSORI-CM01 effectively regulates miR-20a-3p and miR-3184-3p, resulting in increased autophagy. Conclusion: We demonstrated by combining network pharmacology and clinical studies of miRNA expression profiles in PBMCs that PSORI-CM01 effectively modulated miR-20a-3p and miR-3184-3p, leading to an increase in autophagy and a decrease in keratinocyte proliferation.

ABSTRACT

Inflammatory skin diseases highlight inflammation as a central driver of skin pathologies, involving a multiplicity of mediators and cell types, including immune and non-immune cells. Adenosine, a ubiquitous endogenous immune modulator, generated from adenosine triphosphate (ATP), acts via four G protein-coupled receptors (A1, A2A, A2B, and A3). Given the widespread expression of those receptors and their regulatory effects on multiple immune signaling pathways, targeting adenosine receptors emerges as a compelling strategy for anti-inflammatory intervention. Animal models of psoriasis, contact hypersensitivity (CHS), and other dermatitis have elucidated the involvement of adenosine receptors in the pathogenesis of these conditions. Targeting adenosine receptors is effective in attenuating inflammation and remodeling the epidermal structure, potentially showing synergistic effects with fewer adverse effects when combined with conventional therapies. What is noteworthy are the promising outcomes observed with A2A agonists in animal models and ongoing clinical trials investigating A3 agonists, underscoring a potential therapeutic approach for the management of inflammatory skin disorders.

PURPOSE: Providers who treat patients with psoriasis are unevenly distributed across the United States, with more in urban than rural areas. This retrospective claims analysis characterized disparities in access to care for US patients with psoriasis using data from the STATinMED database. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Patients (≥18 years) had ≥1 claim with a psoriasis diagnosis and ≥1 claim for advanced psoriasis therapy (apremilast or biologics) between January 2015 and December 2019. Access to psoriasis care was determined using the proportion of patients with 0, 1-2, 3-4, or ≥5 providers in their local area. RESULTS: Overall, 179,688 patients were included in the analysis, 80.0% in urban areas. The access ratio was highest for internal medicine physicians (97.1 per 1000 patients) and lowest for dermatologists (4.4 per 1000 patients) and family practice physicians (3.9 per 1000 patients). In urban areas, 41% of patients had access to ≥5 dermatologists versus 7% in rural areas. Whereas 2% of patients in urban areas sought care outside of their local area, 75% in rural areas did so. Use of advanced therapies was low in all states (<17%). CONCLUSION: Access to psoriasis-treating providers varied widely. Regardless of access, utilization of advanced treatments was low, suggesting the need for effective, easy-to-administer therapy.

BACKGROUND: Understanding the economic value of deucravacitinib and apremilast could assist treatment decision-making for patients with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. OBJECTIVE: This study compared the cost per response (CPR) for US patients initiating deucravacitinib versus apremilast for moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. METHODS: A CPR model using pharmacy and administration costs was developed from a US payer perspective. Response was defined as a 75% reduction from baseline in Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI 75) at weeks 16 and 24. Long-term response was defined as the cumulative benefit over 52 weeks, measured as area under the curve; subsequent treatment was included. Scenario analyses explored varying the efficacy measure or choices of subsequent treatments and limiting discontinuation. RESULTS: The CPR for deucravacitinib versus apremilast was lower at 16 weeks (difference: -$3796 [95% confidence interval (CI): -$6140 to -$1659]) and 24 weeks (difference: -$12,784 [95% CI: -$16,674 to -$9369]). At 52 weeks, the cost per cumulative benefit was lower for patients who initiated deucravacitinib, regardless of initial treatment period duration (16 or 24 weeks). CONCLUSIONS: Scenario analyses found mainly consistent results. This study showed that the CPR is lower when initiating deucravacitinib versus apremilast in moderate to severe plaque psoriasis.

Purpose: This noninterventional, cross-sectional survey estimated the prevalence and consequences of residual disease in apremilast-treated US adults with moderate to severe psoriasis. Materials and Methods: Residual disease was defined as experiencing moderate, severe, or very severe psoriasis over the past week or having ≥3% body surface area affected, despite treatment. Factors associated with residual disease and its effects on flare-ups, humanistic burden, and health care resource utilization (HCRU) were evaluated. Results: Of the 344 apremilast users (mean age, 44.9 years; female, 65.4%), 174 (50.6%) had residual disease. It was more prevalent in Black versus White participants (OR, 4.5; 95% CI, 1.6-12.2), those receiving apremilast for ≥1 versus <1 year (OR, 16.5; 95% CI, 7.9-34.4), those reporting ≥2 versus 0 to 1 flare-ups during the past 3 months (OR, 10.0; 95% CI, 5.0-20.1), and those with ≥4 versus 1 to 3 body regions affected at time of survey (OR, 8.6; 95% CI, 3.8-19.8). Participants with versus without residual disease self-reported more psoriasis flare-ups over the past 3 months (mean, 4.7 vs 0.9; p < .001) and more anxiety (89.7% vs 50.0%; p < .001) and depression (69.0% vs 23.6%; p < .001) over the past 30 days. Conclusion: Generally, participants with versus without residual disease also had significantly more comorbidities and greater HCRU.

BACKGROUND: Psoriasis, a chronic immune-mediated skin disease with pathological features such as aberrant differentiation of keratinocytes, dermal-epidermal inflammation, and angiogenesis. 2,3,5,4'-Tetrahydroxy stilbene 2-Ο-ß-d-glucoside (2354Glu) is a natural small molecule polyhydrostilbenes isolated from Polygonum multiglorum Thunb. The regulation of IL-36 subfamily has led to new pharmacologic strategies to reverse psoriasiform dermatitis. PURPOSE: Here we investigated the therapeutic potential of 2354Glu and elucidated the underlying mechanism in psoriasis. METHODS: The effects of 2354Glu on IL-36 signaling were assessed by psoriasiform in vivo, in vitro and ex vivo model. The in vivo mice model of psoriasis-like skin inflammation was established by applying imiquimod (IMQ), and the in vitro and ex vitro models were established by stimulating mouse primary keratinocyte, human keratinocytes cells (HaCaT) and ex vivo skin tissue isolated from the mice back with Polyinosine-polycytidylic acid (Poly(I:C)), IMQ, IL-36γ and Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) respectively. Moreover, NETs formation was inhibited by Cl-amidine to evaluate the effect of NETs in psoriatic mouse model. The effects of 2354Glu on skin inflammation were assessed by western blot, H&E, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and real-time quantitative PCR. RESULTS: In Poly(I:C)-stimulated keratinocytes, the secretion of IL-36 was inhibited after treatment with 2354Glu, similar to the effects of TLR3, P2X7R and caspase-1 inhibitors. In aldara (imiquimod)-induced mice, 2354Glu (100 and 25 mg/kg) improved immune cell infiltration and hyperkeratosis in psoriasis by directly targeting IL-36 in keratinocytes through P2X7R-caspase-1. When treatment with 2354Glu (25 mg/kg) was insufficient to inhibit IL-36γ, NETs reduced pathological features and IL-36 signaling by interacting with keratinocytes to combat psoriasis like inflammation. CONCLUSION: These results indicated that NETs had a beneficial effect on psoriasiform dermatitis. 2354Glu alleviates psoriasis by directly targeting IL-36/P2X7R axis and NET formation, providing a potential candidate for the treatment of psoriasis.

ABSTRACT

Plaque psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease causing red inflamed lesions covered by scales. Leukocytes, including dendritic cells and T cells, participate in the inflammation of the skin by producing multiple cytokines, thus contributing to the hyperproliferation of keratinocytes. Lack of effectiveness and toxic side effects are the main concerns with conventional treatments, and research involving new antipsoriatic molecules is essential. In this study, the anti-inflammatory and antiproliferative effects of two natural polyphenols, phloretin and balsacone C, were investigated using the coculture of T cells and psoriatic keratinocytes. Phloretin exerted antiproliferative activity by regulating the expression of antigen Ki67 and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA). These effects were comparable to those of methotrexate, a reference treatment for moderate to severe psoriasis. With balsacone C, the expression of Ki67 was also reduced. Additionally, phloretin decreased the levels of multiple pro-inflammatory cytokines: monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1/CCL2), macrophage inflammatory protein-1α (MIP-1α), granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1α), interleukin-1 beta (IL-1ß), interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-17A (IL-17A), and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α). The increased interleukin-2 (IL-2) levels with phloretin and methotrexate also represented anti-inflammatory activity. Balsacone C and methotrexate decreased the levels of IL-1α and IL-1ß, but methotrexate exerted a higher reduction. In summary, the anti-inflammatory effects of phloretin were more pronounced than those of methotrexate and balsacone C. In addition, the expression of lymphocyte common antigen (CD45) was more similar to that of the healthy condition after using phloretin or methotrexate. Finally, phloretin stood out from the other compounds and appears promising for psoriasis treatment.

ABSTRACT

Genetic biomarkers could potentially lower the risk of treatment failure in chronic inflammatory diseases (CID) like psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis (PsA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis assessing the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and response to biologics. Odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence interval (CI) meta-analyses were performed. In total, 185 studies examining 62,774 individuals were included. For the diseases combined, the minor allele of MYD88 (rs7744) was associated with good response to TNFi (OR: 1.24 [1.02-1.51], 6 studies, 3158 patients with psoriasis or RA) and the minor alleles of NLRP3 (rs4612666) (OR: 0.71 [0.58-0.87], 5 studies, 3819 patients with RA or IBD), TNF-308 (rs1800629) (OR: 0.71 [0.55-0.92], 25 studies, 4341 patients with psoriasis, RA, or IBD), FCGR3A (rs396991) (OR: 0.77 [0.65-0.93], 18 studies, 2562 patients with psoriasis, PsA, RA, or IBD), and TNF-238 (rs361525) (OR: 0.57 [0.34-0.96]), 7 studies, 818 patients with psoriasis, RA, or IBD) were associated with poor response to TNFi together or infliximab alone. Genetic variants in TNFα, NLRP3, MYD88, and FcRγ genes are associated with response to TNFi across several inflammatory diseases. Most other genetic variants associated with response were observed in a few studies, and further validation is needed.

ABSTRACT

Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory skin disorder that affects approximately 2-3% of the global population due to significant genetic predisposition. It is characterized by an uncontrolled growth and differentiation of keratinocytes, leading to the formation of scaly erythematous plaques. Psoriasis extends beyond dermatological manifestations to impact joints and nails and is often associated with systemic disorders. Although traditional treatments provide relief, their use is limited by potential side effects and the chronic nature of the disease. This review aims to discuss the therapeutic potential of keratinocyte-targeting natural products in psoriasis and highlight their efficacy and safety in comparison with conventional treatments. This review comprehensively examines psoriasis pathogenesis within keratinocytes and the various related signaling pathways (such as JAK-STAT and NF-κB) and cytokines. It presents molecular targets such as high-mobility group box-1 (HMGB1), dual-specificity phosphatase-1 (DUSP1), and the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) for treating psoriasis. It evaluates the ability of natural compounds such as luteolin, piperine, and glycyrrhizin to modulate psoriasis-related pathways. Finally, it offers insights into alternative and sustainable treatment options with fewer side effects.

ABSTRACT

Secukinumab and Dead Sea treatment result in clear skin for many psoriasis patients, through distinct mechanisms. However, recurrence in the same areas after treatments suggests the existence of a molecular scar. We aimed to compare the molecular and genetic differences in psoriasis patients who achieved complete response from secukinumab and Dead Sea climatotherapy treatments. We performed quantitative immunohistochemical and transcriptomic analysis, in addition to digital spatial profiling of skin punch biopsies. Histologically, both treatments resulted in a normalization of the lesional skin to a level resembling nonlesional skin. Interestingly, the transcriptome was not normalized by either treatments. We revealed 479 differentially expressed genes between secukinumab and Dead Sea climatotherapy at the end of treatment, with a psoriasis panel identifying SERPINB4, SERPINB13, IL36G, IL36RN, and AKR1B10 as upregulated in Dead Sea climatotherapy compared with secukinumab. Using digital spatial profiling, pan-RAS was observed to be differentially expressed in the microenvironment surrounding CD103+ cells, and IDO1 was differentially expressed in the dermis when comparing the two treatments. The differences observed between secukinumab and Dead Sea climatotherapy suggest the presence of a molecular scar, which may stem from mechanistically different pathways and potentially contribute to disease recurrence. This may be important for determining treatment response duration and disease memory.

ABSTRACT

Purpose: The incidence of cutaneous paradoxical reactions associated with IL-17 inhibitors has gained attention in recent literature. Our report aims to investigate the characteristics of one rare paradoxical reaction, presenting as Behcet's disease.Methods: We reported one case of Behcet's-like disease induced by secukinumab in a patient with psoriasis. This patient, a young woman with a long history of psoriasis, showed significant improvement in her psoriatic condition after receiving four doses of secukinumab. Unexpectedly, she developed symptoms such as high fever, painful oral and genital ulcers, facial maculopapules, and erythema nodosum-like lesions on her lower limbs. Despite neutrophilia, there was no evidence of infection found in her laboratory tests. Histological analysis of a skin biopsy highlighted subcutaneous panniculitis and a mixed inflammatory cell infiltrate in the dermis. The patient was consequently diagnosed with secukinumab-induced Behcet's-like disease. Additionally, we have reviewed nine other documented cases of Behcet's-like disease triggered by IL-17 inhibitors.Results: This group showed no significant gender preference, suffering from conditions such as psoriasis, ankylosing spondylitis, and hidradenitis suppurativa. Oral and genital ulcers were prevalent among the paradoxical reactions noted. Marked improvement was observed in all patients upon discontinuation of the IL-17 inhibitors.Conclusions: Our report serves to alert physicians to this uncommon but significant paradoxical effect that may arise with anti-IL-17 treatment.

ABSTRACT

Aim: Bullous pemphigoid induced by secukinumab in treatment of psoriasis is rare.Methods: We report a 49-year-old man with psoriasis who developed bullous pemphigoid during treatment with secukinumab.Results: Scattered tense vesicles with itching appeared all over the body after the fourth treatment. Bullous pemphigoid was confirmed by pathological examination and direct immunofluorescence. The patient was treated with topical corticosteroids, oral nicotinamide and minocycline hydrochloride. The lesions of bullous pemphigoid improved significantly after 7 days of treatment.Conclusions: Bullous pemphigoid is a rare adverse event following administration of secukinumab.
