RESUMO

The intricate and multifaceted nature of diabetes disrupts the body's crucial glucose processing mechanism, which serves as a fundamental energy source for the cells. This research aims to predict the occurrence of diabetes in individuals by harnessing the power of machine learning algorithms, utilizing the PIMA diabetes dataset. The selected algorithms employed in this study encompass Decision Tree, K-Nearest Neighbor, Random Forest, Logistic Regression, and Support Vector Machine. To execute the experiments, two software tools, namely Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis (WEKA) version 3.8.1 and Python version 3.10, were utilized. To evaluate the performance of the algorithms, several metrics were employed, including true positive rate, false positive rate, precision, recall, F-measure, Matthew's correlation coefficient, receiver operating characteristic area, and precision-recall curves area. Furthermore, various errors such as Mean Absolute Error, Root Mean Squared Error, Relative Absolute Error, and Root Relative Squared Error were examined to assess the accuracy of the models. Upon conducting the experiments, it was observed that Logistic Regression outperformed the other techniques, exhibiting the highest precision of 81 percent using Python and 80.43 percent using WEKA. These findings shed light on the efficacy of machine learning in predicting diabetes and highlight the potential of Logistic Regression as a valuable tool in this domain.

RESUMO

Connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) present exciting opportunities for the improvement of both the mobility of people and the efficiency of transportation systems. The small computers in autonomous vehicles (CAVs) are referred to as electronic control units (ECUs) and are often perceived as being a component of a broader cyber-physical system. Subsystems of ECUs are often networked together via a variety of in-vehicle networks (IVNs) so that data may be exchanged, and the vehicle can operate more efficiently. The purpose of this work is to explore the use of machine learning and deep learning methods in defence against cyber threats to autonomous cars. Our primary emphasis is on identifying erroneous information implanted in the data buses of various automobiles. In order to categorise this type of erroneous data, the gradient boosting method is used, providing a productive illustration of machine learning. To examine the performance of the proposed model, two real datasets, namely the Car-Hacking and UNSE-NB15 datasets, were used. Real automated vehicle network datasets were used in the verification process of the proposed security solution. These datasets included spoofing, flooding and replay attacks, as well as benign packets. The categorical data were transformed into numerical form via pre-processing. Machine learning and deep learning algorithms, namely k-nearest neighbour (KNN) and decision trees, long short-term memory (LSTM), and deep autoencoders, were employed to detect CAN attacks. According to the findings of the experiments, using the decision tree and KNN algorithms as machine learning approaches resulted in accuracy levels of 98.80% and 99%, respectively. On the other hand, the use of LSTM and deep autoencoder algorithms as deep learning approaches resulted in accuracy levels of 96% and 99.98%, respectively. The maximum accuracy was achieved when using the decision tree and deep autoencoder algorithms. Statistical analysis methods were used to analyse the results of the classification algorithms, and the determination coefficient measurement for the deep autoencoder was found to reach a value of R2 = 95%. The performance of all of the models that were built in this way surpassed that of those already in use, with almost perfect levels of accuracy being achieved. The system developed is able to overcome security issues in IVNs.

RESUMO

Predicting crop yields is a critical issue in agricultural production optimization and intensification research. Accurate foresights of natural circumstances a year in advance can have a considerable impact on management decisions regarding crop selection, rotational location in crop rotations, agrotechnical methods employed, and long-term land use planning. One of the most important aspects of precision farming is sustainability. The novelty of this study is to evidence the effective of the temperature, pesticides, and rainfall environment parameters in the influence sustainable agriculture and economic efficiency at the farm level in Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, predicting the future values of main crop yield in Saudi Arabia. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) to estimate the impact of environment factors and agrotechnical parameters on agricultural crop yields and to anticipate yields is examined in this study. Using artificial neural networks (ANNs), a highly effective multilayer perceptron (MLP) model was built to accurately predict the crop yield, temperature, insecticides, and rainfall based on environmental data. The dataset is collected from different Saudi Arabia regions from 1994 to 2016, including the temperature, insecticides, rainfall, and crop yields for potatoes, rice, sorghum, and wheat. For this study, we relied on five different statistical evaluation metrics: the mean square error (MSE), the root-mean-square error (RMSE), normalized root mean square error (NRMSE), Pearson's correlation coefficient (R%), and the determination coefficient (R 2). Analyses of datasets for crop yields, temperature, and insecticides led to the development of the MLP models. The datasets are randomly divided into separate samples, 70% for training and 30% for testing. The best-performing MLP model is characterized by values of (R = 100%) and (R 2 = 96.33) for predicting insecticides in the testing process. The temperature, insecticides, and rainfall were examined with different crop yields to confirm the effectiveness of these parameters for increasing product crop yields in Saudi Arabia; we found that these items had highest relationships. The average values are R = 98.20%, 96.50, and 99.14% with for the temperature, insecticides, and rainfall, respectively. Based on these findings, it appeared that each of the parameter categories that are considered (temperature, pesticides, and rainfall) had a similar contribution to the accuracy of anticipated yield projection.

RESUMO

Humans and all other living things depend on having access to clean water, as it is an indispensable essential resource. Therefore, the development of a model that can predict water quality conditions in the future will have substantial societal and economic value. This can be accomplished by using a model that can predict future water quality circumstances. In this study, we employed a sophisticated artificial neural network (ANN) model. This study intends to develop a hybrid model of single exponential smoothing (SES) with bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) and an adaptive neurofuzzy inference system (ANFIS) to predict water quality (WQ) in different groundwater in the Al-Baha region of Saudi Arabia. Single exponential smoothing (SES) was employed as a preprocessing method to adjust the weight of the dataset, and the output from SES was processed using the BiLSTM and ANFIS models for predicting water quality. The data were randomly divided into two phases, training (70%) and testing (30%). Efficiency statistics were used to evaluate the SES-BiLSTM and SES-ANFIS models' prediction abilities. The results showed that while both the SES-BiLSTM and SES-ANFIS models performed well in predicting the water quality index (WQI), the SES-BiLSTM model performed best with accuracy (R = 99.95% and RMSE = 0.00910) at the testing phase, where the performance of the SES-ANFIS model was R = 99.95% and RMSE = 2.2941 × 100-07. The findings support the idea that the SES-BilSTM and SES-ANFIS models can be used to predict the WQI with high accuracy, which will help to enhance WQ. The results demonstrated that the SES-BiLSTM and SES-ANFIS models' forecasts are accurate and that both seasons' performances are consistent. Similar investigations of groundwater quality prediction for drinking purposes should benefit from the proposed SES-BiLSTM and SES-ANFIS models. Consequently, the results demonstrate that the proposed SES-BiLSTM and SES-ANFIS models are useful tools for predicting whether the groundwater in Al-Baha city is suitable for drinking and irrigation purposes.

RESUMO

E-health has grown into a billion-dollar industry in the last decade. Its device's high throughput makes it an obvious target for cyberattacks, and these environments desperately need protection. In this scientific study, we presented an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven software-defined networking (SDN)-enabled intrusion detection system (IDS) to address increasing cyber threats in the E-health and internet of medical things (IoMT) environments. AI's success in various fields, including big data and intrusion detection systems, has prompted us to develop a flexible and cost-effective approach to protect such critical environments from cyberattacks. We present a hybrid model consisting of long short-term memory (LSTM) and gated recurrent unit (GRU). The proposed model was thoroughly evaluated using the publicly available CICDDoS2019 dataset and conventional evaluation measures. Furthermore, for proper validation, the proposed framework is compared with relevant classifiers, such as cu-GRU+ DNN and cu-BLSTM. We have further compared the proposed model with existing literature to prove its efficacy. Lastly, 10-fold cross-validation is also used to verify that our results are unbiased. The proposed approach has bypassed the current literature with extraordinary performance ramifications such as 99.01% accuracy, 99.04% precision, 98.80 percent recall, and 99.12% F1-score.

RESUMO

Skin is the primary protective layer of the internal organs of the body. Nowadays, due to increasing pollution and multiple other factors, various types of skin diseases are growing globally. With variable shapes and multiple types, the classification of skin lesions is a challenging task. Motivated by this spreading deformity in society, a lightweight and efficient model is proposed for the highly accurate classification of skin lesions. Dynamic-sized kernels are used in layers to obtain the best results, resulting in very few trainable parameters. Further, both ReLU and leakyReLU activation functions are purposefully used in the proposed model. The model accurately classified all of the classes of the HAM10000 dataset. The model achieved an overall accuracy of 97.85%, which is much better than multiple state-of-the-art heavy models. Further, our work is compared with some popular state-of-the-art and recent existing models.

RESUMO

The concentration of this paper is on detecting trolls among reviewers and users in online discussions and link distribution on social news aggregators such as Reddit. Trolls, a subset of suspicious reviewers, have been the focus of our attention. A troll reviewer is distinguished from an ordinary reviewer by the use of sentiment analysis and deep learning techniques to identify the sentiment of their troll posts. Machine learning and lexicon-based approaches can also be used for sentiment analysis. The novelty of the proposed system is that it applies a convolutional neural network integrated with a bidirectional long short-term memory (CNN-BiLSTM) model to detect troll reviewers in online discussions using a standard troll online reviewer dataset collected from the Reddit social media platform. Two experiments were carried out in our work: the first one was based on text data (sentiment analysis), and the second one was based on numerical data (10 attributes) extracted from the dataset. The CNN-BiLSTM model achieved 97% accuracy using text data and 100% accuracy using numerical data. While analyzing the results of our model, we observed that it provided better results than the compared methods.

RESUMO

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is among the top 20 causes of death worldwide and affects approximately 10% of the world adult population. CKD is a disorder that disrupts normal kidney function. Due to the increasing number of people with CKD, effective prediction measures for the early diagnosis of CKD are required. The novelty of this study lies in developing the diagnosis system to detect chronic kidney diseases. This study assists experts in exploring preventive measures for CKD through early diagnosis using machine learning techniques. This study focused on evaluating a dataset collected from 400 patients containing 24 features. The mean and mode statistical analysis methods were used to replace the missing numerical and the nominal values. To choose the most important features, Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE) was applied. Four classification algorithms applied in this study were support vector machine (SVM), k-nearest neighbors (KNN), decision tree, and random forest. All the classification algorithms achieved promising performance. The random forest algorithm outperformed all other applied algorithms, reaching an accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score of 100% for all measures. CKD is a serious life-threatening disease, with high rates of morbidity and mortality. Therefore, artificial intelligence techniques are of great importance in the early detection of CKD. These techniques are supportive of experts and doctors in early diagnosis to avoid developing kidney failure.

RESUMO

In recent years, computerized biomedical imaging and analysis have become extremely promising, more interesting, and highly beneficial. They provide remarkable information in the diagnoses of skin lesions. There have been developments in modern diagnostic systems that can help detect melanoma in its early stages to save the lives of many people. There is also a significant growth in the design of computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems using advanced artificial intelligence. The purpose of the present research is to develop a system to diagnose skin cancer, one that will lead to a high level of detection of the skin cancer. The proposed system was developed using deep learning and traditional artificial intelligence machine learning algorithms. The dermoscopy images were collected from the PH2 and ISIC 2018 in order to examine the diagnose system. The developed system is divided into feature-based and deep leaning. The feature-based system was developed based on feature-extracting methods. In order to segment the lesion from dermoscopy images, the active contour method was proposed. These skin lesions were processed using hybrid feature extractions, namely, the Local Binary Pattern (LBP) and Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) methods to extract the texture features. The obtained features were then processed using the artificial neural network (ANNs) algorithm. In the second system, the convolutional neural network (CNNs) algorithm was applied for the efficient classification of skin diseases; the CNNs were pretrained using large AlexNet and ResNet50 transfer learning models. The experimental results show that the proposed method outperformed the state-of-art methods for HP2 and ISIC 2018 datasets. Standard evaluation metrics like accuracy, specificity, sensitivity, precision, recall, and F-score were employed to evaluate the results of the two proposed systems. The ANN model achieved the highest accuracy for PH2 (97.50%) and ISIC 2018 (98.35%) compared with the CNN model. The evaluation and comparison, proposed systems for classification and detection of melanoma are presented.

RESUMO

Online product reviews play a major role in the success or failure of an E-commerce business. Before procuring products or services, the shoppers usually go through the online reviews posted by previous customers to get recommendations of the details of products and make purchasing decisions. Nevertheless, it is possible to enhance or hamper specific E-business products by posting fake reviews, which can be written by persons called fraudsters. These reviews can cause financial loss to E-commerce businesses and misguide consumers to take the wrong decision to search for alternative products. Thus, developing a fake review detection system is ultimately required for E-commerce business. The proposed methodology has used four standard fake review datasets of multidomains include hotels, restaurants, Yelp, and Amazon. Further, preprocessing methods such as stopword removal, punctuation removal, and tokenization have performed as well as padding sequence method for making the input sequence has fixed length during training, validation, and testing the model. As this methodology uses different sizes of datasets, various input word-embedding matrices of n-gram features of the review's text are developed and created with help of word-embedding layer that is one component of the proposed model. Convolutional and max-pooling layers of the CNN technique are implemented for dimensionality reduction and feature extraction, respectively. Based on gate mechanisms, the LSTM layer is combined with the CNN technique for learning and handling the contextual information of n-gram features of the review's text. Finally, a sigmoid activation function as the last layer of the proposed model receives the input sequences from the previous layer and performs binary classification task of review text into fake or truthful. In this paper, the proposed CNN-LSTM model was evaluated in two types of experiments, in-domain and cross-domain experiments. For an in-domain experiment, the model is applied on each dataset individually, while in the case of a cross-domain experiment, all datasets are gathered and put into a single data frame and evaluated entirely. The testing results of the model in-domain experiment datasets were 77%, 85%, 86%, and 87% in the terms of accuracy for restaurant, hotel, Yelp, and Amazon datasets, respectively. Concerning the cross-domain experiment, the proposed model has attained 89% accuracy. Furthermore, comparative analysis of the results of in-domain experiments with existing approaches has been done based on accuracy metric and, it is observed that the proposed model outperformed the compared methods.
