RESUMO

Uterine scar pregnancy is a rare form of ectopic pregnancy that is life-threatening and functionally compromising due to complications such as hemorrhage or early uterine rupture. We report the case of a 41-year-old patient admitted for metrorrhagia at 13 weeks' amenorrhea. Transvaginal ultrasound allowed early diagnosis of pregnancy on uterine scar and MRI-guided therapeutic management indicating hysterectomy. This study and literature review aims to highlight the importance of imaging features in the diagnosis and management of this rare condition, knowledge of which may improve prognosis.

RESUMO

Ortner's syndrome refers to vocal cord paralysis resulting from compression of the left recurrent laryngeal nerve by abnormal mediastinal vascular structures. We present a case of an 89-year-old man who was an active smoker, with a clinical history of hypertension, who presented hoarseness of voice with chronic evolution. Neck and Thoracoabdominal CT angiography was performed revealing a thrombosed aneurysm of the aortic arch.

RESUMO

Pelvic pain is a frequent reason for consultation; the management is complex, given the differences in symptomatic and anatomical orientation. We present an exceptional case of intergluteal synovial sarcoma rarely described in the literature, with an incidence of about 1/1 000 000 and less than 10 cases of intergluteal location are published. Case Presentation: Through this publication, we present a very exceptional case of synovial sarcoma. It concerns a 44-year-old male followed for probable intergluteal lipoma for 3 months and admitted for intergluteal mass bleeding. The clinical examination revealed an intergluteal tumor mass, and the surgical resection was in favor of a synovial sarcoma. The objectives of this work are threefold: to enrich the poor literature with this new case; to underline the importance of multidisciplinary management; to recommend the obligation of anatomopathological evidence to make the diagnosis of lipoma in front of a soft tissue tumor. Discussion and Conclusion: Our case enriches the poor literature on intergluteal synovial sarcoma, where less than 10 similar reports are available. We hope through our presentation to highlight this exceptional etiology of gluteal tumor and to recall that there is no relationship between the name of this tumor and the synovium as an anatomical entity.

RESUMO

We report a case of a 43-year-old woman admitted to the emergency's department for an externalized mass through the vulva. The exploration by magnetic resonance imaging shows complete uterine inversion caused by a giant leiomyoma. Non-puerperal uterine inversion is a rare condition that is usually difficult to diagnose clinically. The role of imaging, specifically magnetic resonance imaging, is essential for the diagnosis, to establish the classification and to adapt the management.

RESUMO

The global pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 has resulted in an increased incidence of venous thromboembolism among hospitalized COVID-19-patients, especially those who required intensive care, despite thromboprophylaxis. This has resulted in the use of higher doses of thromboprophylaxis or therapeutic anticoagulation therapy even in the absence of thrombotic events. However, after their hospital discharge, authors and current guidelines are not unanimous about extended anticoagulant therapy in patients with COVID-19. Here, we report two pulmonary embolism cases following hospitalization for COVID-19, despite intermediate doses of thromboprophylaxis. These rare cases suggest that there may be a residual thrombotic risk following hospitalization for COVID-19 and highlight questions about extended prophylactic-anticoagulation therapy after hospital discharge of patients with COVID-19.
