RESUMO

BACKGROUND: HOIP is the catalytic subunit of the E3 ligase complex (linear ubiquitin chain assembly complex), which is able to generate linear ubiquitin chains. However, the role of rare HOIP functionally deficient variants remains unclear. The pathogenic mechanism and the relationship with immune deficiency phenotypes remain to be clarified. METHODS: Based on a next-generation sequencing panel of 270 genes, we identified a HOIP deletion variant that causes common variable immunodeficiency disease. Bioinformatics analysis and cell-based experiments were performed to study the molecular mechanism by which the variant causes immunodeficiency diseases. FINDINGS: A homozygous loss-of-function variant in HOIP was identified. The variant causes a frameshift and generates a premature termination codon in messenger RNA, resulting in a C-terminal truncated HOIP mutant, that is, the loss of the linear ubiquitin chain-specific catalytic domain. The truncated HOIP mutant has impaired E3 ligase function in linear ubiquitination, leading to the suppression of canonical NF-κB signalling and increased TNF-induced multiple forms of cell death. INTERPRETATION: The loss-of-function HOIP variant accounts for the immune deficiencies. The canonical NF-κB pathway and cell death are involved in the pathogenesis of the disease. FUNDING: This study was funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 82270444 and 81501851). RESEARCH IN CONTEXT: Evidence before this study LUBAC is the only known linear ubiquitin chain assembly complex for which HOIP is an essential catalytic subunit. Three HOIP variants have now been identified in two immunodeficient patients and functionally characterised. However, there have been no reports on the pathogenicity of only catalytic domain deletion variants in humans, or the pathogenic mechanisms of catalytic domain deletion variants. Added value of this study We report the first case of an autosomal recessive homozygous deletion variant that results in deletion of the HOIP catalytic structural domain. We demonstrate that this variant is a loss-of-function variant using a heterologous expression system. The variant has impaired E3 ligase function. It can still bind to other subunits of LUBAC, but it fails to generate linear ubiquitin chains. We also explored the underlying mechanisms by which this variant leads to immunodeficiency. The variant attenuates the canonical NF-κB and MAPK signalling cascades and increases the sensitivity of TNFα-induced diverse cell death and activation of mitochondrial apoptosis pathways. These findings provide support for the treatment and drug development of patients with inborn errors of immunity in HOIP and related signalling pathways. Implications of all the available evidence First, this study expands the HOIP pathogenic variant database and phenotypic spectrum. Furthermore, studies on the biological functions of pathogenic variants in relation to the NF-κB signalling pathway and cell death provided new understanding into the genetic basis and pathogenesis of HOIP-deficient immune disease, indicating the necessity of HOIP and related signalling pathway variants as diagnostic targets in patients with similar genetic deficiency phenotypes..

RESUMO

Polyanionic cathodes have attracted extensive research interest for Na-ion batteries (NIBs) due to their moderate energy density and desirable cycling stability. However, these compounds suffer from visible capacity fading and significant voltage decay upon the rapid sodium storage process, even if modified through nanoengineering or carbon-coating routes, leading to limited applications in NIBs. Herein, the Na3(VOPO4)2F cathode material with dominantly exposed {001} active facets is demonstrated by a topochemical synthesis route. Owing to the rational geometrical structure design and thereby directly shortening Na diffusion distance, the electrode delivers a reversible capacity of ∼129 mA h g-1 even at a high rate of 10 C, which is very close to the theoretical capacity of 132 mA h g-1, achieving a high energy density of ∼452 W h kg-1 coupled with a high-power density of 4660 W kg-1. When further served as a cathode for nonaqueous, aqueous-based, and solid-state full NIBs, respectively, our designed Na3(VOPO4)2F always enables superior electrochemical performance due to favorable kinetics.

RESUMO

Developing biodegradable polyurethane (PU) materials as an alternative to non-degradable petroleum-based PU is a crucial and challenging task. This study utilized lactide as the starting material to synthesize polylactide polyols (PLA-OH). PLA-based polyurethanes (PLA-PUs) were successfully synthesized by introducing PLA-OH into the PU molecular chain. A higher content of PLA-OH in the soft segments resulted in a substantial improvement in the mechanical attributes of the PLA-PUs. This study found that the addition of PLA-OH content significantly improved the tensile stress of the PU from 5.35 MPa to 37.15 MPa and increased the maximum elongation to 820.8%. Additionally, the modulus and toughness of the resulting PLA-PU were also significantly improved with increasing PLA-OH content. Specifically, the PLA-PU with 40% PLA-OH exhibited a high modulus of 33.45 MPa and a toughness of 147.18 MJ m-3. PLA-PU films can be degraded to carbon dioxide and water after 6 months in the soil. This highlights the potential of synthesizing PLA-PU using biomass-renewable polylactide, which is important in green and sustainable chemistry.

RESUMO

Ag nanocomposites (NAs) have been found to induce irreversible harm to pathogenic bacteria, however, NAs tend to aggregate easily when used alone. These nanocomposites also show increased toxicity and their underlying antibacterial mechanism is still unknown. In short, practical applications of NA materials face the following obstacles: elucidating the mechanism of antibacterial action, reducing cytotoxicity to body cells, and enhancing antibacterial activity. This study synthesized a core-shell structured ZnFe2O4 @Cu-ZIF-8 @Ag (FUA) nanocomposite with high antibacterial activity and low cytotoxicity. The nanocomposites achieved a 99.99 % antibacterial rate against Escherichia coli (E. coli) and tetracycline-resistant E. coli (T - E. coli), in under 20 min at 100 µg/mL. The nanocomposites were able to inactivate E. coli due to the gradual release of Cu2+, Zn2+, and Ag+ ions, which synergistically form •OH from FUA in an aerobic environment. The presence of •OH has significant effects on the antibacterial activity. The released metal ions combine with •OH to cause damage to the bacterial cell wall, resulting in the leakage of electrolytes and ions. Moreover, in comparison to NA, the toxicity of FUA is considerably reduced. This study is expected to inspire the development of other silver-based nanocomposite materials for the inactivation of drug-resistant bacteria.

RESUMO

Adding natural bioactive ingredients to yogurt can improve the nutritional and physiological benefits. In this study, we used ultrasonic-assisted phlorotannin from Ascophyllum nodosum (A. nodosum) modified phycocyanin (PC) to form a complex (UPP) to produce a fortified fermented yogurt. The effects of PC and UPP on the structure, stability, and function of fermented yogurt within 7 days were assessed using physicochemical properties, texture analysis, rheological testing, 16S rDNA sequencing analysis, and lipidomics analysis. Molecular docking indicated that PC might bind to phlorotannin via ARG-77, ARG-84, LEU-120, ALA-81, CYS-82, and ASP-85 sites. When the mass ratio of the complex is 1:1, the ability of UPP1:1 to remove DPPH· scavenging ability in an acid environment increased by about 50 %. UPP1:1 with more acid stability changed the microstructure of the yogurt, enhanced the stability of the yogurt, improved the antioxidant properties, and inhibited the growth of harmful bacteria within 7 days. This work encouraged the extraction and use of phlorotannin from edible brown algae and offered a straightforward method for making yogurt supplemented with PC.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Research the dose-response relationship between overall and certain types of exercise and cognitive function in older adults with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. DESIGN: Systemic and Bayesian Model-Based Network Meta-Analysis. METHODS: In our study, we analyzed data from randomized controlled trials investigating the effects of different exercises on cognitive outcomes in older adults with AD. We searched the Web of Science, PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Embase up to November 2023. Using the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool (Rob2) for quality assessment and R software with the MBNMA package for data analysis, we determined standard mean differences (SMDs) and 95% confidence intervals (95%CrI) to evaluate exercise's impact on cognitive function in AD. RESULTS: Twenty-seven studies with 2,242 AD patients revealed a nonlinear relationship between exercise and cognitive improvement in AD patients. We observed significant cognitive enhancements at an effective exercise dose of up to 1000 METs-min/week (SMDs: 0.535, SD: 0.269, 95% CrI: 0.023 to 1.092). The optimal dose was found to be 650 METs-min/week (SMDs: 0.691, SD: 0.169, 95% CrI: 0.373 to 1.039), with AE (Aerobic exercise) being particularly effective. For AE, the optimal cognitive enhancement dose was determined to be 660 METs-min/week (SMDs: 0.909, SD: 0.219, 95% CrI: 0.495 to 1.362). CONCLUSION: Nonlinear dose-response relationship between exercise and cognitive improvement in Alzheimer's disease, with the optimal AE dose identified at 660 METs-min/week for enhancing cognitive function in AD.

RESUMO

This study investigated the effect of hydraulic retention time (HRT) on the denitrification performance and microbial composition of reactors, packed with composite polycaprolactone and corncob carbon sources, during the treatment mariculture wastewater. The optimal HRT was 3 h, and average nitrogen removal efficiency was 99.00 %, 99.07 %, and 98.98 % in the HRT =3, 5, and 7 h groups, respectively. However, the 3 h group (DOC 2.91 mg/L) was the only group with a lower DOC concentration than that of the influent group (3.31 mg/L). Moreover, species richness was lower at HRT =3 h, with a greater proportion of denitrification-dominant phyla, such as Proteobacteria. The abundance of the NarG, NirK, and NirS functional genes suggested that the HRT =3 h group had a significant advantage in the nitrate and nitrite reduction phases. Under a short HRT, the composite carbon source achieved a good denitrification effect.

RESUMO

CrRLK1L subfamily members are involved in diverse growth- and development-related processes in Arabidopsis. However, the functions of their counterparts in rice are unknown. Here, OsANX expression was detected in developing inflorescences, mature pollen grains, and growing pollen tubes, and it was localized to the plasma membrane in pollen grains and tobacco epidermal cells. Homozygous osanx progeny could not be segregated from the CRISPR/Cas9-edited mutants osanx-c1+/- and osanx-c2+/-, and such progeny were segregated only occasionally from osanx-c3+/-. Further, all three alleles showed osanx male but not female gamete transmission defects, in line with premature pollen tube rupture in osanx-c3. Additionally, osanx-c3 exhibited precocious flowering, excessively branched inflorescences, and an extremely low seed setting rate of 1.4 %, while osanx-c2+/- and osanx-c3+/- had no obvious defects in inflorescence development or the seed setting rate compared to wild-type Nipponbare (Nip). Consistent with this, the complemented line pPS1:OsANX-GFP/osanx-c2 (PSC), in which the lack of OsANX expression was inflorescence-specific, showed slightly earlier flowering and overly-branched panicles. Multiple inflorescence meristem transition-related and inflorescence architecture-related genes were expressed at higher levels in osanx-c3 than in Nip; thus, they may partially account for the aforementioned mutant phenotypes. Our findings broaden our understanding of the biological functions of OsANX in rice.

RESUMO

With the rising cost of animal feed protein, finding affordable and effective substitutes is crucial. Walnut kernel cake, a polyphenol-, fiber-, protein- and fat-rich byproduct of walnut oil extraction, has been underexplored as a potential protein replacement in pig feed. In this study, we found that feeding large Diqing Tibetan pigs walnut kernel cake promoted adipose deposition and improved pork quality during pig growth. Transcriptome analysis revealed the upregulation of genes ANGPTL8, CCNP, ETV4, and TRIB3, associated with adipose deposition. Pathway analysis highlighted enrichment in adipose deposition-related pathways, including PPAR, insulin, PI3K-Akt, Wnt, and MAPK signaling. Further analysis identified DEGs (differentially expressed genes) positively correlated with adipose-related traits, such as PER2 and PTGES. Single-cell transcriptome data pointed to the specific expression of CD248 and PTGES in adipocyte progenitor/stem cells (APSCs), pivotal for adipocyte differentiation and adipose deposition regulation. This study demonstrates walnut kernel cake's potential to substitute soybean cake in pig feed, providing high-quality protein and promoting adipose deposition. It offers insights into feed protein replacement, human functional food, fat metabolism, and related diseases, with marker genes and pathways supporting pig breeding and pork quality improvement.

RESUMO

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a debilitating and progressive lung disease with an unknown cause that has few treatment options. 18ß-Glycyrrhetinic acid (18ß-GA) is the main bioactive component in licorice, exhibiting anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, while also holding certain application value in the metabolism and regulation of steroids. In this study, we demonstrated that 18ß-GA effectively alleviates bleomycin (BLM)-induced IPF by inhibiting the TGF-ß1/JAK2/STAT3 signaling axis. In vivo experiments demonstrate that 18ß-GA significantly attenuates pulmonary fibrosis progression by reducing lung inflammation, improving lung function, and decreasing collagen deposition. In vitro experiments reveal that 18ß-GA inhibits the activation and migration of TGF-ß1-induced fibroblasts. Furthermore, it regulates the expression of vimentin, N-cadherin and E-cadherin proteins, thereby inhibiting TGF-ß1-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in lung alveolar epithelial cells. Mechanistically, 18ß-GA ameliorates pulmonary fibrosis by modulating the TGF-ß1/JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway in activated fibroblasts. Taken together, our findings demonstrate the potential and underlying mechanisms of 18ß-GA in ameliorating IPF, emphasizing its potential as a novel therapeutic drug for the treatment of this devastating disease.

RESUMO

The disordered phase of spinel LiMn1.5Ni0.5O4 (LNMO) is more appealing as high-voltage cathode due to its superior electrochemical performance compared to its ordered counterpart. Various methods are developed to induce a phase transition. However, the resulting materials often suffer from capacity degradation due to the adverse influence of accompanying Mn3+ ions. This study presents the utilization of local magnetic fields generated by a magnetic Fe3O4 shell to induce a disordered phase transition in LNMO at lower temperature, transitioning it from an order state without significantly increasing the Mn3+ content. The pivotal role played by the local magnetic fields is evidenced through comparisons with samples with nonmagnetic Al2O3 shell, samples subjected to sole heat treatment, and samples heat-treated within magnetic fields. The key finding is that magnetic fields can initiate a radical pair mechanism, enabling the induction of order-disorder phase transition even at lower temperatures. The disordered spinal LNMO with a magnetic Fe3O4 shell exhibits excellent cycling stability and kinetic properties in electrochemical characterization as a result. This innovation not only unravels the intricate interplay between the disordered phase and Mn3+ content in the cathode spinel but also pioneers the use of magnetic field effects for manipulating material phases.

RESUMO

Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs), recognized for balanced energy density and cost-effectiveness, are positioned as a promising complement to lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and a substitute for lead-acid batteries, particularly in low-speed electric vehicles and large-scale energy storage. Despite their extensive potential, concerns about range anxiety due to lower energy density underscore the importance of fast-charging technologies, which drives the exploration of high-rate electrode materials. Polyanionic cathode materials are emerging as promising candidates in this regard. However, their intrinsic limitation in electronic conductivity poses challenges for synchronized electron and ion transport, hindering their suitability for fast-charging applications. This review provides a comprehensive analysis of sodium ion migration during charging/discharging, highlighting it as a critical rate-limiting step for fast charging. By delving into intrinsic dynamics, key factors that constrain fast-charging characteristics are identified and summarized. Innovative modification routes are then introduced, with a focus on shortening migration paths and increasing diffusion coefficients, providing detailed insights into feasible strategies. Moreover, the discussion extends beyond half cells to full cells, addressing challenges and opportunities in transitioning polyanionic materials from the laboratory to practical applications. This review aims to offer valuable insights into the development of high-rate polyanionic cathodes, acknowledging their pivotal role in advancing fast-charging SIBs.

RESUMO

Objective: this study evaluates the prognostic relevance of gene subtypes and the role of kinesin family member 2C (KIF2C) in lung cancer progression. Methods: high-expression genes linked to overall survival (OS) and progression-free interval (PFI) were selected from the TCGA-LUAD dataset. Consensus clustering analysis categorized lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) patients into two subtypes, C1 and C2, which were compared using clinical, drug sensitivity, and immunotherapy analyses. A random forest algorithm pinpointed KIF2C as a prognostic hub gene, and its functional impact was assessed through various assays and in vivo experiments. Results: The study identified 163 key genes and distinguished two LUAD subtypes with differing OS, PFI, pathological stages, drug sensitivity, and immunotherapy response. KIF2C, highly expressed in the C2 subtype, was associated with poor prognosis, promoting cancer cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), with knockdown reducing tumor growth in mice. Conclusion: The research delineates distinct LUAD subtypes with significant clinical implications and highlights KIF2C as a potential therapeutic target for personalized treatment in LUAD.

RESUMO

Metal selenides show outstanding sodium-ion storage performance when matched with an ether-based electrolyte. However, the intrinsic origin of improvement and deterministic interface characteristics have not been systematically elucidated. Herein, employing FeSe2 anode as the model system, the electrochemical kinetics of metal selenides in ether and ester-based electrolytes and associated solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) are investigated in detail. Based on the galvanostatic intermittent titration technique and in situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, it is found that the ether-based electrolyte can ensure fast Na+ transfer and low interface impedance. Additionally, the ether-derived thin and smooth double-layer SEI, which is critical in facilitating ion transport, maintaining structural stability, and inhibiting electrolyte overdecomposition, is concretely visualized by transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and depth-profiling X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. This work provides a deep understanding of the optimization mechanism of electrolytes, which can guide available inspiration for the design of practical electrode materials.

RESUMO

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) has a malignant characteristic that is highly aggressive and prone to metastasis. There is still a lack of suitable biomarkers to facilitate the refinement of precision-based therapeutic regimens. We used a combination of 10 known clustering algorithms and the omics data from 4 dimensions to identify high-resolution molecular subtypes of LUAD. Subsequently, consensus machine learning-related prognostic signature (CMRS) was developed based on subtypes related genes and an integrated program framework containing 10 machine learning algorithms. The efficiency of CMRS was analyzed from the perspectives of tumor microenvironment, genomic landscape, immunotherapy, drug sensitivity, and single-cell analysis. In terms of results, through multi-omics clustering, we identified 2 comprehensive omics subtypes (CSs) in which CS1 patients had worse survival outcomes, higher aggressiveness, mRNAsi and mutation frequency. Subsequently, we developed CMRS based on 13 key genes up-regulated in CS1. The prognostic predictive efficiency of CMRS was superior to most established LUAD prognostic signatures. CMRS demonstrated a strong correlation with tumor microenvironmental feature variants and genomic instability generation. Regarding clinical performance, patients in the high CMRS group were more likely to benefit from immunotherapy, whereas low CMRS were more likely to benefit from chemotherapy and targeted drug therapy. In addition, we evaluated that drugs such as neratinib, oligomycin A, and others may be candidates for patients in the high CMRS group. Single-cell analysis revealed that CMRS-related genes were mainly expressed in epithelial cells. The novel molecular subtypes identified in this study based on multi-omics data could provide new insights into the stratified treatment of LUAD, while the development of CMRS could serve as a candidate indicator of the degree of benefit of precision therapy and immunotherapy for LUAD.

RESUMO

In this paper, foam concrete is modified using graphite and carbon fiber as absorbents. The mechanical properties are analyzed in conjunction with hydration products, pore size distribution based on XCT test. Additionally, the resistivity, complex permittivity and complex permeability are tested. The results demonstrate that carbon fiber enhances the proportion of pores with diameters less than 200 µm in foam concrete, thereby significantly enhancing its flexural strength. Furthermore, incorporating graphite helps offset the initial retardation of sulfoaluminate cement hydration induced by carbon fibers, leading to an increase in the average pore size and a reduction in compressive strength. The incorporation of carbon fibers at a concentration of 0.6 wt% achieves the percolation threshold, akin to scenarios with singular fiber incorporation. Exceeding 2 wt% graphite content results in negligible influence on the conductivity. The synergistic integration of graphite and carbon fibers significantly improves the electromagnetic wave absorption performance of the composite. At a thickness of 6 mm, the material exhibits an effective bandwidth where the reflection loss is less than -10 dB, extending up to 2.5 GHz, which constitutes 52.08 % of the tested frequency spectrum.

RESUMO

Hollandite-type manganese dioxide (α-MnO2) is recognized as a promising cathode material upon high-performance aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) owing to the high theoretical capacities, high working potentials, unique Zn2+/H+ co-insertion chemistry, and environmental friendliness. However, its practical applications limited by Zn2+ accommodation, where the strong coulombic interaction and sluggish kinetics cause significant lattice deformation, fast capacity degradation, insufficient rate capability, and undesired interface degradation. It remains challenging to accurately modulate H+ intercalation while suppressing Zn2+ insertion for better lattice stability and electrochemical kinetics. Herein, proton Grotthuss transfer channels are first tunneled by shielding MnO2 with hydrophilic-zincophobic heterointerface, fulfilling the H+-dominating diffusion with the state-of-the-art ZIBs performance. Local atomic structure and theoretical simulation confirm that surface-engineered α-MnO2 affords to the synergy of Mn electron t2g-eg activation, oxygen vacancy enrichment, selective H+ Grotthuss transfer, and accelerated desolvation kinetics. Consequently, fortified α-MnO2 achieves prominent low current density cycle stability (≈100% capacity retention at 1 C after 400 cycles), remarkable long-lifespan cycling performance (98% capacity retention at 20 C after 12 000 cycles), and ultrafast rate performance (up to 30 C). The study exemplifies a new approach of heterointerface engineering for regulation of H+-dominating Grotthuss transfer and lattice stabilization in α-MnO2 toward reliable ZIBs.

RESUMO

Dental pulp is the only soft tissue in the tooth which plays a crucial role in maintaining intrinsic multi-functional behaviors of the dentin-pulp complex. Nevertheless, the restoration of fully functional pulps after pulpitis or pulp necrosis, termed endodontic regeneration, remained a major challenge for decades. Therefore, a bioactive and in-situ injectable biomaterial is highly desired for tissue-engineered pulp regeneration. Herein, a decellularized matrix hydrogel derived from porcine dental pulps (pDDPM-G) was prepared and characterized through systematic comparison against the porcine decellularized nerve matrix hydrogel (pDNM-G). The pDDPM-G not only exhibited superior capabilities in facilitating multi-directional differentiation of dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) during 3D culture, but also promoted regeneration of pulp-like tissues after DPSCs encapsulation and transplantation. Further comparative proteomic and transcriptome analyses revealed the differential compositions and potential mechanisms that endow the pDDPM-G with highly tissue-specific properties. Finally, it was realized that the abundant tenascin C (TNC) in pDDPM served as key factor responsible for the activation of Notch signaling cascades and promoted DPSCs odontoblastic differentiation. Overall, it is believed that pDDPM-G is a sort of multi-functional and tissue-specific hydrogel-based material that holds great promise in endodontic regeneration and clinical translation. STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: Functional hydrogel-based biomaterials are highly desirable for endodontic regeneration treatments. Decellularized extracellular matrix (dECM) preserves most extracellular matrix components of its native tissue, exhibiting unique advantages in promoting tissue regeneration and functional restoration. In this study, we prepared a porcine dental pulp-derived dECM hydrogel (pDDPM-G), which exhibited superior performance in promoting odontogenesis, angiogenesis, and neurogenesis of the regenerating pulp-like tissue, further showed its tissue-specificity compared to the peripheral nerve-derived dECM hydrogel. In-depth proteomic and transcriptomic analyses revealed that the activation of tenascin C-Notch axis played an important role in facilitating odontogenic regeneration. This biomaterial-based study validated the great potential of the dental pulp-specific pDDPM-G for clinical applications, and provides a springboard for research strategies in ECM-related regenerative medicine.

RESUMO

Aqueous zinc ion batteries (AZIBs) with metallic Zn anode have the potential for large-scale energy storage application due to their cost-effectiveness, safety, environmental-friendliness, and ease of preparation. However, the concerns regarding dendrite growth and side reactions on Zn anode surface hamper the commercialization of AZIBs. This review aims to give a comprehensive evaluation of the protective interphase construction and provide guidance to further improve the electrochemical performance of AZIBs. The failure behaviors of the Zn metal anode including dendrite growth, corrosion, and hydrogen evolution are analyzed. Then, the applications and mechanisms of the constructed interphases are introduced, which are classified by the material species. The fabrication methods of the artificial interfaces are summarized and evaluated, including the in-situ strategy and ex-situ strategy. Finally, the characterization means are discussed to give a full view for the study of Zn anode protection. Based on the analysis of this review, a stable and high-performance Zn anode could be designed by carefully choosing applied material, corresponding protective mechanism, and appropriate construction technique. Additionally, this review for Zn anode modification and construction techniques for anode protection in AZIBs may be helpful in other aqueous metal batteries with similar problems.

RESUMO

Assessment of ecological security is essential for understanding the status of bay ecosystem and developing appropriate management strategy. Based on the driving force-pressure-state-impact-response (DPSIR) model, the demographic, economic, social, and ecological data of Laizhou Bay and its three neighboring counties were selected for the period from 2015 to 2021. An ecological security evaluation index system of Laizhou Bay containing 26 indicators was established, and the weights of each indicator were determined by the methods of AHP and EWM, and a comprehensive evaluation of the ecological security of Laizhou Bay was carried out by ESI. Correlations between indicators were analyzed by the Spearman's rank coefficient of correlation. The results showed that there were significant correlations between marine conditions and indicators such as population size in the surrounding area, mariculture area, industrial and domestic wastewater discharge, and treatment rate. Overall, from 2015 to 2021, the ecological security of Laizhou Bay showed a favorable trend, from a relatively unsafe level to a generally safe level, and then to a relatively safe level. Through the comprehensive evaluation of the ecological security of Laizhou Bay, we can recognize the utilization of marine resources and ecological carrying capacity, guide the rational development and utilization of marine resources, and promote the sustainable development of the marine economy.
