RESUMO

The design and synthesis of cost-effective and stable bifunctional electrocatalysts for water splitting via a green and sustainable fabrication way remain a challenging problem. Herein, a bio-inspired method was used to synthesize NiFeP nanoparticles embedded in (N,P) co-doped carbon with the added carbon nanotubes. The obtained Ni0.8Fe0.2P-C catalyst displayed excellent hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) performances in both alkaline and alkaline simulated seawater solutions. The optimal Ni0.8Fe0.2P-C/NF only needs overpotentials of 45 and 242 mV to reach the current density of 10 mA cm-2 under HER and OER working conditions in 1.0 M KOH solution, respectively. First-principles calculations revealed the presence of a strong interaction between the carbon layer and metal phosphide nanoparticles. Benefiting from this and carbon nanotubes modification, the fabricated Ni0.8Fe0.2P-C presents impressive stability, working continuously for 100 h without collapse. A low alkaline cell voltage of 1.56 V for the assembled Ni0.8Fe0.2P-C/NF//Ni0.8Fe0.2P-C/NF electrocatalyzer could afford a current density of 10 mA cm-2. Moreover, when integrated with a photovoltaic device, the bifunctional Ni0.8Fe0.2P-C electrocatalyst demonstrates application potential for sustainable solar-driven water electrolysis.

RESUMO

In this paper, we propose a tunable coordinated multi-band absorber that combines graphene with metal-dielectric-metal structures for the realization of multiple toward perfect absorption. The parametric inversion method is used to extract the equivalent impedance and explain the phenomena of multiple-peak absorption. With the change of the Fermi level, equivalent impedances were extracted, and the peculiarities of the individual multiple absorption peaks to change were determined. By changing the structure parameters of gold rings, we obtain either multiple narrow-band absorption peaks or a broadband absorption peak, with the bandwidth of 0.8 µm where the absorptance is near 100%. Therefore, our results provide new insights into the development of tunable multi-band absorbers and broadband absorbers that can be applied to terahertz imaging in high-performance coordinate sensors and other promising optoelectronic devices.

RESUMO

In this paper, we propose a tunable, multi-band, selective absorber composed of multiple layers. Each layer consisted of SiO2/graphene/SiC, and a layer of silver was used as the ground plane of the entire structure. Simulation results show that we can passively and actively coordinate the resonant frequency of the perfect absorption peak by changing the geometric parameters of the array and the Fermi level of the graphene. The absorber is not sensitive to the angle of incidence and the direction of polarization. We propose a theoretical basis for the formation of multiple absorption peaks. The theoretical calculations are in good agreement with the simulation results. In addition, we simulated the three- and four-layer structures. The results show that in the terahertz (THz) band, composite structures of three and four layers can obtain three and four perfect absorption peaks, respectively. Our results provide new insights into the THz band of harmonizable multi-band absorbers that can be applied to THz imaging to coordinate sensors and other optoelectronic devices.

RESUMO

The inevitable frequency errors owing to the frequency mismatch of a transmitter and receiver oscillators could seriously deteriorate the imaging performance in distributed inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) system. In this paper, for this issue, a novel method is proposed to calibrate the linear time-varying frequency errors (LTFE) between the transmitting node and the receiving node. The cost function is constructed based on the entropy minimization principle and the problem of LTFE calibration is transformed into cost function optimization. The frequency error coefficient, which minimizes the image entropy, is obtained by searching optimum solution in the solution space of cost function. Then, the original signal is calibrated by the frequency error coefficient. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by simulation and real-data experiments.

RESUMO

Aurora kinase A (AURKA) is a serine threonine kinase which affects chromosomal separation and mitotic spindle stability through interaction with the centrosome during mitosis. Two functional nonsynonymous polymorphisms of the AURKA gene (Ile31Phe and Val57Ile) have been reported recently. We analyzed the association between the two polymorphisms and risk of the occurrence of hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in the Guangxi population consisting of 348 patients with HCC and 359 control subjects, and then validated the significant association in the Guangdong population consisting of 440 cases and 456 controls. All of the participants were of Chinese origin and HBV carriers. The two polymorphisms were genotyped by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism assay or Sequenom MassARRAY iPLEX platform. In the Guangxi population, carriers of the AURKA 31Phe allele (Ile/Phe + Phe/Phe) were significantly associated with decreased susceptibility to HBV-related HCC when compared with noncarriers (Ile/Ile) (odds ratio [OR] = 0.63, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.46-0.86, P = 3.4 × 10-3). On the contrary, no significant association was found between Val57Ile and HBV-related HCC occurrence. The association of Ile31Phe with HBV-related HCC occurrence was confirmed in the Guangdong population (OR = 0.64, 95% CI = 0.49-0.83, P = 8.0 × 10-4). The pooled analysis gave a joint P value of 5.5 × 10-6 (joint OR = 0.63, 95% CI = 0.52-0.77). Our findings suggest that AURKA Ile31Phe may play a role in mediating the susceptibility to HBV-related HCC among Chinese.

RESUMO

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a common infectious disease. Here we perform a genome-wide association study (GWAS) among Chinese populations to identify novel genetic loci involved in persistent HBV infection. GWAS scan is performed in 1,251 persistently HBV infected subjects (PIs, cases) and 1,057 spontaneously recovered subjects (SRs, controls), followed by replications in four independent populations totally consisting of 3,905 PIs and 3,356 SRs. We identify a novel locus at 8p21.3 (index rs7000921, odds ratio=0.78, P=3.2 × 10(-12)). Furthermore, we identify significant expression quantitative trait locus associations for INTS10 gene at 8p21.3. We demonstrate that INST10 suppresses HBV replication via IRF3 in liver cells. In clinical plasma samples, we confirm that INST10 levels are significantly decreased in PIs compared with SRs, and negatively correlated with the HBV load. These findings highlight a novel antiviral gene INTS10 at 8p21.3 in the clearance of HBV infection.
