RESUMO

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell immunotherapy for the treatment of neurological autoimmune diseases is promising, but CAR T cell kinetics and immune alterations after treatment are poorly understood. Here, we performed single-cell multi-omics sequencing of paired cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood samples from patients with neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) treated with anti-B cell maturation antigen (BCMA) CAR T cells. Proliferating cytotoxic-like CD8+ CAR T cell clones were identified as the main effectors in autoimmunity. Anti-BCMA CAR T cells with enhanced features of chemotaxis efficiently crossed the blood-CSF barrier, eliminated plasmablasts and plasma cells in the CSF, and suppressed neuroinflammation. The CD44-expressing early memory phenotype in infusion products was potentially associated with CAR T cell persistence in autoimmunity. Moreover, CAR T cells from patients with NMOSD displayed distinctive features of suppressed cytotoxicity compared with those from hematological malignancies. Thus, we provide mechanistic insights into CAR T cell function in patients with neurological autoimmune disease.

RESUMO

Herein, a highly regio-, enantio-, and diastereoselective nickel-catalyzed desymmetric hydrocyanation of biaryl dienes for the simultaneous construction of axial and central chiralities is presented, which offers a convenient approach to a variety of tirenes containing the union of an axially chiral biaryl and a centrally α-chiral nitrile under mild conditions using a commercially available catalyst. The synthetic utility is highlighted by the development of a novel axially chiral phosphine ligand and biphenyl-based chiral diene ligand and their potential applications in the field of asymmetric catalytic reactions.

RESUMO

For the first time, hierarchical porous amorphous metal-organic frameworks (HP-aMOFs) containing ultramicropores, micropores, and mesopores were synthesized by etching a composite of MOF glass (agZIF-76) and ZnO using ammonia. These materials show potential applications in the adsorption of C2 hydrocarbons.

RESUMO

Chronic pain is a growing global health problem affecting at least 10% of the world's population. However, current chronic pain treatments are inadequate. Voltage-gated sodium channels (Navs) play a pivotal role in regulating neuronal excitability and pain signal transmission and thus are main targets for nonopioid painkiller development, especially those preferentially expressed in dorsal root ganglial (DRG) neurons, such as Nav1.6, Nav1.7, and Nav1.8. In this study, we screened in virtual hits from dihydrobenzofuran and 3-hydroxyoxindole hybrid molecules against Navs via a veratridine (VTD)-based calcium imaging method. The results showed that one of the molecules, 3g, could inhibit VTD-induced neuronal activity significantly. Voltage clamp recordings demonstrated that 3g inhibited the total Na+ currents of DRG neurons in a concentration-dependent manner. Biophysical analysis revealed that 3g slowed the activation, meanwhile enhancing the inactivation of the Navs. Additionally, 3g use-dependently blocked Na+ currents. By combining with selective Nav inhibitors and a heterozygous expression system, we demonstrated that 3g preferentially inhibited the TTX-S Na+ currents, specifically the Nav1.7 current, other than the TTX-R Na+ currents. Molecular docking experiments implicated that 3g binds to a known allosteric site at the voltage-sensing domain IV(VSDIV) of Nav1.7. Finally, intrathecal injection of 3g significantly relieved mechanical pain behavior in the spared nerve injury (SNI) rat model, suggesting that 3g is a promising candidate for treating chronic pain.

RESUMO

This study introduces a novel approach for synthesizing Benzoxazine-centered Polychiral Polyheterocycles (BPCPHCs) via an innovative asymmetric carbene-alkyne metathesis-triggered cascade. Overcoming challenges associated with intricate stereochemistry and multiple chiral centers, the catalytic asymmetric Carbene Alkyne Metathesis-mediated Cascade (CAMC) is employed using dirhodium catalyst/Brønsted acid co-catalysis, ensuring precise stereo control as validated by X-ray crystallography. Systematic substrate scope evaluation establishes exceptional diastereo- and enantioselectivities, creating a unique library of BPCPHCs. Pharmacological exploration identifies twelve BPCPHCs as potent Nav ion channel blockers, notably compound 8 g. In vivo studies demonstrate that intrathecal injection of 8 g effectively reverses mechanical hyperalgesia associated with chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN), suggesting a promising therapeutic avenue. Electrophysiological investigations unveil the inhibitory effects of 8 g on Nav1.7 currents. Molecular docking, dynamics simulations and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) assay provide insights into the stable complex formation and favorable binding free energy of 8 g with C5aR1. This research represents a significant advancement in asymmetric CAMC for BPCPHCs and unveils BPCPHC 8 g as a promising, uniquely acting pain blocker, establishing a C5aR1-Nav1.7 connection in the context of CIPN.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features for preoperatively discriminating  primary ovarian mucinous malignant tumors (POMTs) and metastatic mucinous carcinomas involving the ovary (MOMCs). METHODS: This retrospective multicenter study enrolled 61 patients with 22 POMTs and 49 MOMCs, which were pathologically proved between November 2014 to Jane 2023. The clinical and MRI features were evaluated and compared between POMTs and MOMCs. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify the significant variables between the two groups, which were then incorporated into a predictive nomogram, and ROC curve analysis was subsequently carried out to evaluate diagnostic performance. RESULTS: 35.9% patients with MOMCs were discovered synchronously with the primary carcinomas; 25.6% patients with MOMCs were bilateral, and all of the patients with POMTs were unilateral. The biomarker CEA was significantly different between the two groups (p = 0.002). There were significant differences in the following MRI features: tumor size, configuration, enhanced pattern, the number of cysts, honeycomb sign, stained-glass appearance, ascites, size diversity ratio, signal diversity ratio. The locular size diversity ratio (p = 0.005, OR = 1.31), and signal intensity diversity ratio (p = 0.10, OR = 4.01) were independent predictors for MOMCs. The combination of above independent criteria yielded the largest area under curve of 0.922 with a sensitivity of 82.3% and specificity of 88.9%. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with MOMCs were more commonly bilaterally and having higher levels of CEA, but did not always had a malignant tumor history. For ovarian mucin-producing tumors, the uniform locular sizes and signal intensities were more predict MOMCs.

RESUMO

Posttreatment of pristine metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with suitable vapor may be an effective way to regulate their structures and properties but has been less explored. Herein, we report an interesting example in which a crystalline nonporous Eu(III)-MOF was transferred to a porous amorphous MOF (aMOF) via iodine vapor adsorption-desorption posttreatment, and the resulting aMOF showed improved turn-on sensing properties with respect to Ag+ ions. The crystalline Eu-MOF, namely, Eu-IPDA, was assembled from Eu(III) and 4,4'-{4-[4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl]pyridine-2,6-diyl}dibenzoic acid (H2IPDA) and exhibited a two-dimensional (2D) coordination network based on one-dimensional secondary building blocks. The close packing of the 2D networks gives rise to a three-dimensional supramolecular framework without any significant pores. Interestingly, the nonporous Eu-IPDA could absorb iodine molecules when Eu-IPDA crystals were placed in iodine vapor at 85 °C, and the adsorption capacity was 1.90 g/g, which is comparable to those of many MOFs with large BET surfaces. The adsorption of iodine is attributed to the strong interactions among the iodine molecule, the carboxy group, and the N-containing group and leads to the amorphization of the framework. After immersion of the iodine-loaded Eu-IPDA in EtOH, approximately 89.7% of the iodine was removed, resulting in a porous amorphous MOF, denoted as a-Eu-IPDA. In addition, the remaining iodine in the a-Eu-IPDA framework causes strong luminescent quenching in the fluorescence emission region of the Eu(III) center when compared with that in Eu-IPDA. The luminescence intensity of a-Eu-IPDA in water suspensions was significantly enhanced when Ag+ ions were added, with a detection limit of 4.76 × 10-6 M, which is 1000 times that of pristine Eu-IPDA. It also showed strong anti-interference ability over many common competitive metal ions and has the potential to sense Ag+ in natural water bodies and traditional Chinese medicine preparations. A mechanistic study showed that the interactions between Ag+ and the absorbed iodine, the carboxylate group, and the N atoms all contribute to the sensing performance of a-Eu-IPDA.

RESUMO

B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), expressed in plasmablasts and plasma cells, could serve as a promising therapeutic target for autoimmune diseases. We reported here chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells targeting BCMA in two patients with highly relapsed and refractory myasthenia gravis (one with AChR-IgG, and one with MuSk-IgG). Both patients exhibited favorable safety profiles and persistent clinical improvements over 18 months. Reconstitution of B-cell lineages with sustained reduced pathogenic autoantibodies might underlie the therapeutic efficacy. To identify the possible mechanisms underlying the therapeutic efficacy of CAR-T cells in these patients, longitudinal single-cell RNA and TCR sequencing was conducted on serial blood samples post infusion as well as their matching infusion products. By tracking the temporal evolution of CAR-T phenotypes, we demonstrated that proliferating cytotoxic-like CD8 clones were the main effectors in autoimmunity, whereas compromised cytotoxic and proliferation signature and profound mitochondrial dysfunction in CD8+ Te cells before infusion and subsequently defect CAR-T cells after manufacture might explain their characteristics in these patients. Our findings may guide future studies to improve CAR T-cell immunotherapy in autoimmune diseases.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Sedentary behavior (SB) may contribute to obesity and lower extremity fluid retention, which may favor the development of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). However, linking sedentary behavior to OSA is unclear. The purpose of this study was to determine if there is an association between SB and OSA. METHODS: Three typical questions in the NHANES questionnaire(①The frequency of feeling excessively sleepy per month. ②The frequency of gasping, snorting or stopping breathing per week. ③The frequency of snoring per week.) have been used for the assessment of OSA. A physical activity questionnaire(On a typical day, the amount of time you spend sitting or reclining.) was used to assess SB. This secondary analysis included National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) participants (unweighted = 20,115). Weighted sample and multiple logistic regression complex sample analysis techniques were used in this study. RESULTS: After adjustment for confounders, participants with SB(> 8 h/d) had a higher risk of OSA compared to SB(< 4 h/d). Stratified analysis by gender showed that there was no significant association of SB and OSA in men. However, in women, with SB(< 4 h/d) as the reference, participants with(≥ 4 h/d) had an increased risk of OSA. By age-stratified analysis, the association of SB with OSA was stronger among older participants. CONCLUSION: Analysis in this study showed a positive association between SB and OSA, more pronounced in women and participants older than 60 years old.

RESUMO

Immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) is an autoimmune disorder associated with the presence of autoantibodies, characterized by severe clinical presentation with rapidly progressive muscular weakness and elevated levels of creatine kinase, while traditional pharmacological approaches possess varying and often limited effects. Considering the pathogenic role of autoantibodies, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cells targeting B cell maturation antigen (BCMA) have emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy. We reported here a patient with anti-signal recognition particle IMNM refractory to multiple available therapies, who was treated with BCMA-targeting CAR-T cells, exhibited favorable safety profiles, sustained reduction in pathogenic autoantibodies, and persistent clinical improvements over 18 mo. Longitudinal single-cell RNA, B cell receptor, T cell receptor sequencing analysis presented the normalization of immune microenvironment after CAR-T cell infusion, including reconstitution of B cell lineages, replacement of T cell subclusters, and suppression of overactivated immune cells. Analysis on characteristics of CAR-T cells in IMNM demonstrated a more active expansion of CD8+ CAR-T cells, with a dynamic phenotype shifting pattern similar in CD4+ and CD8+ CAR-T cells. A comparison of CD8+ CAR-T cells in patients with IMNM and those with malignancies collected at different timepoints revealed a more NK-like phenotype with enhanced tendency of cell death and neuroinflammation and inhibited proliferating ability of CD8+ CAR-T cells in IMNM while neuroinflammation might be the distinct characteristics. Further studies are warranted to define the molecular features of CAR-T cells in autoimmunity and to seek higher efficiency and longer persistence of CAR-T cells in treating autoimmune disorders.

RESUMO

Based on the influence of a filamentous laser Gaussian heat source and its movement speed on Polymeric Methyl Methacrylate materials (PMMA sheets), the physical model of heat transfer of PMMA materials by CO2 continuous laser ablation was established. Numerical simulation research on heat transfer in CO2 continuous laser processing of PMMA sheets was carried out by applying the heat transfer model, and experiments on continuous laser processing of PMMA sheets were conducted on the basis of the numerical simulation results. Theoretical and experimental research indicated that under relevant conditions, when the laser power was 20 W, the maximum surface temperature of PMMA sheet was approximately 520 K, which was higher than the melting temperature of the PMMA material, achieving the transformation of the PMMA material from solid to liquid phase in the laser ablation area. When the laser power was 40 W, the CO2 continuous laser could vaporize the PMMA material, cracking the polymer structure of polymethyl methacrylate. When the laser power was 80 W, the maximum surface temperature of the PMMA sheet was approximately 1300 K, and the processing efficiency of CO2 continuous laser ablation of the PMMA material was the highest. The above research provided theoretical guidance and process optimization for the research of CO2 continuous laser ablation of PMMA sheets. The consistency between the experimental results and the numerical simulation results demonstrated the correctness and feasibility of the theoretical model, which has certain universality and reference value for the optimization research of laser processing non-metallic materials and polymer materials.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Chronic orofacial pain (COP) therapy is challenging, as current medical treatments are extremely lacking. Moutan Cortex (MC) is a traditional Chinese medicine herb widely used for chronic inflammatory diseases. However, the mechanism behind MC in COP therapy has not been well-established. The purpose of this study was to identify the active ingredients of MC and their specific underlying mechanisms in COP treatment. METHODS: In this study, the main active ingredients and compound-target network of MC in COP therapy were identified through network pharmacology and bioinformatics analysis. Adult male Sprague-Dawley rats received oral mucosa lipopolysaccharide (LPS) injection to induce COP. Pain behaviors were evaluated by orofacial mechanical nociceptive assessment after intraganglionar injection. In vitro inflammatory cytokines in LPS-pretreated human periodontal ligament stem cells (hPDLSCs) and rat primary cultural trigeminal ganglion (TG) neurons were quantified by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Schrödinger software was used to verify the molecular docking of quercetin and critical targets. Whole-cell recording electrophysiology was used to evaluate the effect of quercetin on voltage-gated sodium (Na v ) channel in rat TG neurons. RESULTS: The assembled compound-target network consisted of 4 compounds and 46 targets. As 1 of the active components of MC correlated with most related targets, quercetin alleviated mechanical allodynia in LPS-induced rat model of COP (mechanical allodynia threshold median [interquartile range (IQR) 0.5 hours after drug administration: vehicle 1.3 [0.6-2.0] g vs quercetin 7.0 [6.0-8.5] g, P = .002). Gene ontology (GO) enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis revealed that immune response and membrane functions play essential roles in MC-COP therapy. Five of the related targets were identified as core targets by protein-protein interaction analysis. Quercetin exerted an analgesic effect, possibly through blocking Na v channel in TG sensory neurons (peak current density median [IQR]: LPS -850.2 [-983.6 to -660.7] mV vs LPS + quercetin -589.6 [-711.0 to -147.8] mV, P = .006) while downregulating the expression level of proinflammatory cytokines-FOS (normalized messenger RNA [mRNA] level mean ± standard error of mean [SEM]: LPS [2. 22 ± 0.33] vs LPS + quercetin [1. 33 ± 0.14], P = .034) and TNF-α (normalized mRNA level mean ± SEM: LPS [8. 93 ± 0.78] vs LPS + quercetin [3. 77 ± 0.49], P < .0001). CONCLUSIONS: Identifying Na v as the molecular target of quercetin clarifies the analgesic mechanism of MC, and provides ideas for the development of novel selective and efficient chronic pain relievers.

RESUMO

Malignant cardiac arrhythmias with high morbidity and mortality have posed a significant threat to our human health. Scutellarein, a metabolite of Scutellarin which is isolated from Scutellaria altissima L., presents excellent therapeutic effects on cardiovascular diseases and could further be metabolized into methylated forms. A series of 22 new scutellarein derivatives with hydroxyl-substitution based on the scutellarin metabolite in vivo was designed, synthesized via the conjugation of the scutellarein scaffold with pharmacophores of FDA-approved antiarrhythmic medications and evaluated for their antiarrhythmic activity through the analyzation of the rat number of arrhythmia recovery, corresponding to the recovery time and maintenance time in the rat model of barium chloride-induced arrhythmia, as well as the cumulative dosage of aconitine required to induce VP, VT, VF and CA in the rat model of aconitine-induced arrhythmia. All designed compounds could shorten the time of the arrhythmia continuum induced by barium chloride, indicating that 4'-hydroxy substituents of scutellarein had rapid-onset antiarrhythmic effects. In addition, nearly all of the compounds could normalize the HR, RR, QRS, QT and QTc interval, as well as the P/T waves' amplitude. The most promising compound 10e showed the best antiarrhythmic activity with long-term efficacy and extremely low cytotoxicity, better than the positive control scutellarein. This result was also approved by the computational docking simulation. Most importantly, patch clamp measurements on Nav1.5 and Cav1.2 channels indicated that compound 10e was able to reduce the INa and ICa in a concentration-dependent manner and left-shifted the inactivation curve of Nav1.5. Taken together, all compounds were considered to be antiarrhythmic. Compound 10e even showed no proarrhythmic effect and could be classified as Ib Vaughan Williams antiarrhythmic agents. What is more, compound 10e did not block the hERG potassium channel which highly associated with cardiotoxicity.

RESUMO

Hydrothiocarbonylation of olefins using carbon monoxide and thiols is a powerful method to synthesize thioesters from simple building blocks. Owing to the intrinsic challenges of catalyst poisoning, transition-metal-catalyzed asymmetric thiocarbonylation, particularly when utilizing earth abundant metals, remains rare in the literature. Herein, we report a nickel-catalyzed enantioselective hydrothiocarbonylation of cyclopropenes for the synthesis of a diverse collection of functionalized thioesters in good to excellent yields with high stereoselectivity. This new method employs an inexpensive, air-stable nickel(II) precursor, which provides enhanced catalyst fidelity against CO poisoning compared to nickel(0) catalysts.

RESUMO

The research on amorphous metal-organic frameworks (aMOFs) is still in its infancy, and designing and constructing aMOFs with functional pores remains a challenge. Two aMOFs based on Co(II) and heterotopic triangular ligands with large conjugated aromatic planes, namely aMOF-1 and aMOF-2, were constructed and characterized by IR, XPS, EA, ICP, XANS and so on. aMOF-1 possesses mesopores, whereas aMOF-2 possesses micropores. The porosity, conjugated aromatic plane and uncoordinated N atoms in the framework allow these aMOFs to adsorb iodine and dyes. The iodine adsorption capacity of aMOF-1 is 3.3 g per g, which is higher than that of aMOF-2 (0.56 g per g), mainly due to the expansion or swelling of aMOF-1 after iodine adsorption. The uptake of cationic dyes by aMOF-2 showed more rapid kinetics and a higher removal rate than that by aMOF-1, mainly due to the difference in the porosity and surface charge. Although the surface charges of aMOF-1 and aMOF-2 are negative, both of them showed significantly faster adsorption kinetics toward anionic dyes, among which methyl orange (MO) and Congo red (CR) can be removed in 5 min. This occurs possibly because the quick adsorption of Na+ ions alters the surface charge of the framework and promotes dye uptake. The adsorption capacities of aMOF-1 for MO and CR reached 921 and 2417 mg g-1, respectively. The correlation data for aMOF-2 are 1042 and 1625 mg g-1, respectively. All adsorption capacities are among the highest compared to many cMOFs. Adsorption in mixed dye solution is found to be charge-dependent, kinetic-dependent, and synergetic in these systems. The porosity, surface charge regulation during adsorption, weak interactions and multiple adsorption processes contribute to the dye adsorption performance.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome is a significant component of the innate immune system that plays a vital role in the development of various parasitic diseases. However, its role in hepatic alveolar echinococcosis (HAE) remains unclear. AIM: To investigate the NLRP3 inflammasome and its mechanism of activation in HAE. METHODS: We assessed the expression of NLRP3, caspase-1, interleukin (IL)-1ß, and IL-18 in the marginal zone and corresponding normal liver of 60 patients with HAE. A rat model of HAE was employed to investigate the role of the NLRP3 inflammasome in the marginal zone of HAE. Transwell experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of Echinococcus multilocularis (E. multilocularis) in stimulating Kupffer cells and hepatocytes. Furthermore, immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were used to evaluate NLRP3, caspase-1, IL-1ß, and IL-18 expression; flow cytometry was used to detect apoptosis and reactive oxygen species (ROS). RESULTS: NLRP3 inflammasome activation was significantly associated with ROS. Inhibition of ROS production decreased NLRP3-caspase-1-IL-1ß pathway activation and mitigated hepatocyte damage and inflammation. CONCLUSION: E. multilocularis induces hepatocyte damage and inflammation by activating the ROS-mediated NLRP3-caspase-1-IL-1ß pathway in Kupffer cells, indicating that ROS may serve as a potential target for the treatment of HAE.

RESUMO

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate possible viral transmission scenarios inside a high-rise building during the Omicron phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. Study design: Cross-sectional study design. Methods: In order to determine the pathogenicity of the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2, demographic, vaccination and clinical data were collected from COVID-19 positive cases during an outbreak in a high-rise residential building in Shenzhen, China, in early 2022. The pattern of viral transmission inside the building was determined through field investigation and engineering analysis. The results highlight the risk of Omicron infection in high-rise residential buildings. Results: Symptoms of infection with the Omicron variant are predominantly mild. Younger age has a greater impact on the severity of disease than vaccination status. Each floor of the high-rise building investigated contained 7 apartments, numbered 01 to 07, positioned in the same layout on each floor. The drainage system included vertical pipes from the ground to the roof of the building. There were statistically significant differences in infection rates at different time points and incidence ratios between apartment numbers ending in 07 (type 07) and other apartments (P < 0.001). Households with early disease onset were concentrated in apartment type 07 and the severity of their disease was more severe. The incubation period of the outbreak was 5.21-5.31 days and the time-dependent reproduction number (Rt) was 12.08 (95% confidence interval [CI] 7.66, 18.29). Results suggest both non-contact and contact viral transmission may have contributed to the outbreak. The drainage system in the building allows aerosol regurgitation, thus indicating that the structure of the building may have led to spread of the virus from the sewage pipes. Infections in other apartments may have been as result of viral transmission in the elevators and intimate family contact. Conclusions: Results from this study suggest that Omicron transmission was likely to be via the sewage system, supplemented by contact transmission in the stairs and elevators. The environmental spread of Omicron needs to be highlighted and prevented.

RESUMO

Nonradical persulfate oxidation techniques have evolved as a new contaminated water treatment approach due to its great tolerance to water matrixes. The catalysts of CuO-based composites have received much attention in that aside from SO4•-/•OH radicals, the nonradicals of singlet oxygen (1O2) can be also generated during persulfate activation via CuO. However, the issues regarding particles aggregation and metal leaching from the catalysts during the decontamination process remain to be addressed, which could have a remarkable impact on the catalytic degradation of organic pollutants. Accordingly in the present study, a novel biochar-supported bimetallic Fe3O4-CuO catalyst (CuFeBC) was facilely developed to activate peroxodisulfate (PDS) for the degradation of norfloxacin (NOR) in aqueous solution. The results showed CuFeBC has a superior stability against metal ions Cu/Fe leaching, and NOR (30 mg L-1) was degraded at 94.5% within 180 min in the presence of CuFeBC (0.5 g L-1) and PDS (6 mM) in pH 8.5. The scavenging of reactive oxygen species and electron spin resonance analysis revealed that 1O2 dominated the degradation of NOR. Compared with pristine CuO-Fe3O4, the interaction between biochar substrate and metal particles could significantly enhance the contribution of the nonradical pathway to NOR degradation from 49.6% to 84.7%. Biochar substrate could efficiently reduce the leaching of metal species from the catalyst, thereby maintaining excellent catalytic activity and lasting reusability of the catalyst. These findings could enlighten new insights into fine-tuning radical/nonradical processes from CuO-based catalysts for the efficient remediation of organic contaminants in polluted water.
