RESUMO

The painter Ion Tuculescu was placed through his painting, in the current of the abstract expressionism. He endowed his pictural skill with a personal vision of life and people, through introduction the eye like a stylized aspect and its loading with spiritual meanings. The eye is practically in every picture of the painter, constituting a philosophy of his interior experiences and attitude given the existence. The subject painting has not figurative plans but mental impulses through the artist constitutes a new visual language.

RESUMO

Vincent Van Gogh, Dutchman painter, is a forerunner but also a spokesman of the expressionism. His life was short and sad, marked by a psychic instability. In his paintings the color is subordinated of some subjective motivations. Van Gogh uses complementary colors to get a maximum intensity of the overlapped tones. The chromatic increase serves to obtain some strong emotions. In his landscapes the special distances are suggested through tonal distances. The increase of the pure tones through complementary contrast, the cancel of the imitation colors through sensation-colors, the explosive chromatic are characteristic of her painting. In his singular creation, Vincent Van Gogh created his suffering ego.

RESUMO

Some vision disorders to painters have influenced their work. Camille Pissarro the dean of impressionism, presented from forty-eight years dacryocystitis on his left eye and ipsilateral conjunctive chemosis temporally. In that time the treatment consisted in incision and drainage of the lacrymal sac, and cauterization. Due this chronic disease he was forced to paint inside, behind closed windows, in order to avoid dust and wind. This situation influenced the subjects of his painting. His painting reflects large crowds Paris avenues and buildings. This is characteristic for his wonderful works.

RESUMO

Neurovegetative system consist of preganglionar fibre from neural tube and postganglionar from neural crest. We examined 13 patients with Fuchs' syndrome. The first sign was heterochromia, followed by keratic precipitates, pathological cataract and finally secondary glaucoma. The cause of Fuchs' syndrome was the damage of superior cervical ganglion. We studied 4 cases of Claude Bernard Horner's syndrome through damages of preganglionar sympathetic system, in 3 cases because of laterocervical neoplasia and in the last case through brachial plexus damages.

RESUMO

There are shown two cases of glial hamartoma of the optic nerve head. In both cases the retinal vessels are tortuous around the optic nerve disc, and the choroid shows a brown colour, like a choroidal naevus. Histologically this kind of tumors of the optic nerve head are astrocytomas and they are met specially under the age of twenty. The glial hamartoma of the optic nerve head is a rare disease.

RESUMO

One female patient in seventy-four years old presents one hyperkeratotic neoformation which covers upper eyelid, external canthus, lower eyelid in external part and palpebral fissure of the right eye. The affection appeared fifteen years ago. The extirpation was made eight years ago, relapsed and established one corneal ulcer. Extirpation of tumoral formation first of deeper eyelid and than of lower eyelid with cutaneous free skin graft it practised. Anatomopathological exam confirms the diagnosis of keratoacanthoma with acanthosis, hyperkeratosis and dyskeratosis of pluristratified epithelium. The basal membrane, is preserved, but it is masked here and there by an discreet chronic inflammatory process. It insists over the differential diagnosis with spinocellular epithelioma, the patient remaining in observation.

RESUMO

Adenocarcinoma of the meibomian glands is a tumor with atypical glandular features, that appear initially as a chalazion formation and then invades the neighbouring tissues. The patient, a 63 years old woman, presents a chalazion at the level of the left lower eyelid, which, after developing for a year, stars bleeding and infiltrates the ground of the inferior sac and the orbit. The tumoral formation makes a common body with the eyeball and the cornea, which, lacking protection, becomes opaque. Removal of the ulcerous eyelids is performed, with partial exenteration of the orbit. Anatomopathological investigation show the diagnosis: adenocarcinoma of the meibomian glands. Adenocarcinoma of the meibomian glands is the most malignant palpebral tumor. The signs of malignity are: infiltrated and relapsing aspect of the chalazion in on aged person, with low sebaceous secretion in the presence of pigmentations and bleedings in the tumor.

RESUMO

Between 1992-1996 were treated ten cases with sympathetic ophthalmia, representing 0.16% from all hospitalized patients, in Ophthalmological Clinic from Craiova. The disease appeared after corneo-scleral penetrating wounds with membranes hernia at four cases; three from them was complications after cataract surgery and required long treatments; other two patients had glaucoma with closed angle in irreversible stages; another one presented herpetic cornea perforated ulceration with uveitis. Since ocular trauma until appearance of sympathetic ophthalmia, the time was two months at eight cases and two years at two cases. Under clinical aspect seven cases evolved like an anterior uveitis, two cases like a panuveitis and one like a uveopapillitis. Pathologic exam on the removed eye was not specific for sympathetic ophthalmia and only the clinical examination established the diagnosis. Under corticotherapy and immunomodulator therapy, sympathetic ophthalmia evolves this days benign. The disease should not be underestimated. It is not a disappeared disease..

RESUMO

During 1991-1995, 111 patients with palpebral malignant tumours were hospitalized. They represented 15% of the face malignant tumours. The maximal incidence was mentioned after the age of 60 years, only 21 patients were under 60 years of age. The most cases (88) were located at the level of inferior eyelid and internal canthus. From an anatomo-pathological point of view, 88 cases were baso-cellular epitheliomas, 10 were spino-cellular epitheliomas. 1 case was malignant melanoma and 1 case was adenocarcinomas of Meibomius gland. In 30% of the cases the patients come lately. The surgery of palpebral neoplasm requires both an oncological-oriented operation and a plastic-reparatory operation; the reparatory operations using free or pedicled grafts [correction of pediculate graphs] are presented.

RESUMO

The 31-year-old female patient preserved photophobia, learning tiredness, pigmentary remaniations in the macular region to both eyes. With emphasis on the right eye. The photopic visual field shows a paracentral scotoma, 4 degrees inferior at the right eye, without the modification of the peripheric isopters. The darkness adaptation curve is monophasic, with reduction and delay of the alpha angulation. The chromatic sensation exam shows protanomaly. Angiographically, isolated macular lesions with the pigmentary epithelium atrophy and the persistency of the fluorescein in late venous time are confirmed. A genetic deficit of the membrane receptors, at the level of the pigmentary epithelium cells, might explain the selective dystrophia of the cone cells. The different renewal process of cones, compared to the stick cells, stays at the origin of selectively separated pathological processes.

RESUMO

The authors present the study of 443 cases of closed-angle glaucoma patients, hospitalized between 1989-1995, which represent 2.45% of the patients hospitalized in this period. The particular anatomic configuration of the anterior pole of the ocular globe (small anterior chamber and big lens), especially in women's case, explains the great number of female patients. According to the age, the greatest incidence was noticed at the age group 61-70 years (170 cases). Only 12 cases were registered for the age group under 40 years. The greater incidence was also remarked during months with low sun lighting 57 in November, 48 in December, 59 in January), due to the mydriasis. The study of 130 cases of closed-angle glaucoma through intumescent lens shows that the increase of antero-posterior lens diameter is just a starting factor for a potential primary closed-angle glaucoma.
