BACKGROUND: Patient Reported Experience Measures (PREM) have become a critical component in assessing healthcare quality from the patient's perspective. Accurate and reproducible assessment tools are essential for generating robust and reliable results for evaluating peri-anesthesia patient experiences, identifying associated factors, and assessing the impact of healthcare interventions. However, there is currently no systematic review that consolidates all existing peri-anesthesia PREMs and evaluates their psychometric properties. OBJECTIVE: To identify and assess the psychometric properties of PREMs for peri-anesthesia patients. DESIGN: Systematic review of measurement properties following the COSMIN guidelines. METHODS: Systematic searches were conducted in China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, CINAHL, and PsycINFO databases from January 1, 1993, to April 15, 2024. Studies reporting on the development and/or validation of any PREMs for use in the peri-anesthesia period were considered eligible. The measurement properties extracted included data on the item development process, content validity, structural validity, internal consistency, cross-cultural validity, reliability, hypothesis testing and responsiveness. For the same PREM across different studies, reliability coefficients were analyzed using a meta-analysis. The quality assessment, rating of measurement properties, synthesis, and modified grading of the evidence were carried out following the COSMIN methodology for systematic reviews. RESULTS: A total of 26 studies encompassing 16 PREMs were included. Among them, the Patient Satisfaction with Perioperative Anesthetic Care questionnaire (PSPACq), Perception of Quality in Anesthesia (PQA), Sindhvananda General Anesthesia Satisfaction questionnaire, and Daycare Anesthesia Satisfaction (DAS) demonstrated moderate to high-quality evidence of adequate content validity and internal consistency, resulting in strong recommendations. Five PREMs exhibited high-quality evidence of inadequate structural validity and internal consistency, receiving a "not recommended" status. The remaining PREMs were weakly recommended. CONCLUSIONS: This systematic review identified PSPACq and PQA as effective tools for assessing peri-anesthesia experiences in surgical patients, suitable for both research and clinical use. Future studies should focus on thoroughly evaluating the measurement properties of these two PREMs, as many aspects remain underexplored. A high risk of bias was noted in other PREMs, particularly in content validity, structural validity, and reliability, which increases uncertainty in the evidence base. Atherosclerosis is an age-related pathological process associated with elevated levels of legumain in plaques and plasma. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of legumain in the progression of atherosclerotic plaques, with a particular focus on functional and phenotypic changes in CD4+ T cells. Apolipoprotein E-deficient (Apoe-/-) mice were crossed with legumain-deficient (Lgmn-/-) mice to generate Lgmn-/-Apoe-/- mice. CD4+ T cells accumulated in the atherosclerotic plaques of Apoe-/- mice fed a high-fat diet. Deletion of legumain attenuated the deposition of CD4+ T cells in plaques and reduced the number of atherosclerotic lesions. The levels of CD4+ T cells in the blood, lymph nodes, and spleen were decreased in Lgmn-/- mice. Transcriptomic analysis revealed that the deletion of legumain decreased the differentiation, survival, and function of CD4+ memory T cells by suppressing the T cell receptor (TCR) signaling pathway. These changes are accompanied by the downregulation of the antiapoptotic protein B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2) and the reduced release of interleukin (IL)-2 and interferon (IFN)-γ. These results suggest that legumain deficiency may play a role in the development of atherosclerosis by impairing the survival, proliferation, and function of CD4+ T cells. Inhibition of legumain activity may be an innovative therapy for the treatment of atherosclerosis.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the medical significance of methylated septin9 (mSEPT9) in monitoring recurrence and prognostic assessment in individuals with surgically treated colorectal cancer (CRC). METHODS: To investigate the role of Septin9 in colorectal cancer, we utilized the TIMER2.0 database to analyze its differential expression between tumor tissues and adjacent normal tissues. Colorectal cancer RNA-seq data from the TCGA database was downloaded and curated. The clinical relevance of mSEPT9 in colorectal cancer was explored by examining the correlation between Septin9 methylation levels and clinical characteristics using UALCAN and MethSurv software. Peripheral blood samples were obtained from 130 CRC subjects who underwent surgery for the detection of mSEPT9 and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) expression, along with collection of clinicopathological data such as age, gender, tumor site, TNM stage, and tumor differentiation. Patients were followed up for at least 3 years post-surgery until the death or final follow-up dates (31/12/2022). Additionally, peripheral blood samples were collected from 30 colorectal cancer surgery patients for mSEPT9 detection before and 7 days after surgery. RESULTS: Through bioinformatic database analysis, we identified higher expression levels of SEPT9 mRNA in most tumor tissues compared to normal tissues. Similarly, both paired and unpaired CRC tissues exhibited elevated expression of Septin9 when compared to normal tissues. Following GO and KEGG analysis of Septin9 target genes, we discovered their significant associations with ncRNA metabolic processes, ribonucleoprotein complex biogenesis, spliceosomes, and viral carcinogenesis. Furthermore, the overexpression of mSeptin9 was observed in CRC tissues, and it demonstrated a correlation with colon cancer staging and histologic classification. In our clinical sample study, The positive rate of mSEPT9 in CRC patients 7 days after surgery was 43.44% lower than that of preoperative. The differences in TNM stage, tumor differentiation degree, and preoperative CEA expression level between the preoperative mSEPT9 positive and negative groups of CRC were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Recurrence free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) were shorter in the preoperative mSEPT9-positive group, meaning preoperative mSEPT9 status was a risk factor for CRC recurrence and prognosis (P < 0.05). The sensitivity, specificity, and AUC value of preoperative mSEPT9 and CEA levels for predicting postoperative recurrence in CRC patients were 88% vs. 72%, 56.19% vs. 55.24%, and 0.721 vs. 0.636 respectively, well the AUC value of the combined prediction of postoperative recurrence was 0.758. CONCLUSION: The detection of mSEPT9 combined with CEA in preoperative plasma helps predict recurrence in colorectal cancer patients.

BACKGROUND: Monitoring symptoms is crucial for the early detection of disease progression and timely intervention, which is essential for reducing severe cases and mortality rates in rapidly spreading pandemics, such as COVID-19. Therefore, during infectious disease pandemics, the rapid development of real-time symptom monitoring platforms is essential. This study aimed to explore the urgent development process of an electronic system for patient-reported outcome monitoring in emergency situations. METHODS: The development of the electronic patient-reported outcome COVID-19 symptom monitoring platform (ePRO-CoV-SM) included the following steps: (1) modifying an electronic patient-reported outcome symptom-reporting platform to assess patients with COVID-19 and validating its feasibility and sensitivity for longitudinal symptom measurement; (2) updating the system to accommodate the newly emerged severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 BA.2.2 variant; and (3) applying it in real-world settings. Literature review, expert consultation, and subject-group discussions were used to develop symptom items. Response rate and missing item rate were used as validation indicators for ePRO-CoV-SM. RESULTS: The ePRO-CoV-SM (2.0) consists of a core set of symptom items, a WeChat mini program, an online project design backend, a management and communication front, and a database. During the 2020 verification, the response rate of ePRO symptom monitoring reached 89.47% and the item missing rate was 0.33%, the monitoring revealed that a considerable number of asymptomatic patients were experiencing undesirable symptoms during the isolation period. In its real-world application in 2022, the response rate was 85.93% and the item missing rate was 4.84%, the monitoring found the symptom burden was higher in the younger group (18-40 years old) than in the older group (40-67 years old), and over 30% of patients reported symptoms such as cough (36.08%), dry mouth (35.67%), sleep disorders (32.27%), appetite loss (32.17%), and sputum (30.79%) during the isolation period. CONCLUSIONS: Electronic patient-reported outcome measurement was demonstrated to be sensitive and feasible for monitoring symptoms in patients with COVID-19. By integrating smartphone-based data collection with real-time online data transmission and secure data storage using Secure Sockets Layer encryption, an electronic platform for monitoring critical symptoms can be rapidly established in emergency situations.

Autoimmune encephalitis (AE) is an inflammatory disease of the central nervous system characterized by the production of various autoimmune antibodies targeting neuronal proteins. The pathogenesis of AE remains elusive. Accumulating evidence suggests that lymphocytes, particularly B and T lymphocytes, play an integral role in the development of AE. In the last two decades, autoimmune neural antibodies have taken center stage in diagnosing AE. Recently, increasing evidence has highlighted the importance of T lymphocytes in the onset of AE. CD4+ T cells are thought to influence disease progression by secreting associated cytokines, whereas CD8+ T cells exert a cytotoxic role, causing irreversible damage to neurons mainly in patients with paraneoplastic AE. Conventionally, the first-line treatments for AE include intravenous steroids, intravenous immunoglobulin, and plasma exchange to remove pathogenic autoantibodies. However, a minority of patients are insensitive to conventional first-line treatment protocols and suffer from disease relapse, a condition referred to as refractory AE. In recent years, new treatments, such as rituximab or CAAR-T, which target pathogenic lymphocytes in patients with AE, have offered new therapeutic options for refractory AE. This review aims to describe the current knowledge about the function of B and T lymphocytes in the pathophysiology of AE and to summarize and update the immunotherapy options for treating this disease.

OBJECTIVE: This study aims to systematically review and critical evaluation of the risk of bias and the applicability of existing prediction models for acute kidney injury post liver transplantation. DATA SOURCE: A comprehensive literature search up until February 7, 2024, was conducted across nine databases: PubMed, Web of Science, EBSCO CINAHL Plus, Embase, Cochrane Library, CNKI, Wanfang, CBM, and VIP. STUDY DESIGN: Systematic review of observational studies. EXTRACTION METHODS: Literature screening and data extraction were independently conducted by two researchers using a standardized checklist designed for the critical appraisal of prediction modelling studies in systematic reviews. The prediction model risk of bias assessment tool was utilized to assess both the risk of bias and the models' applicability. PRINCIPAL FINDINGS: Thirty studies were included, identifying 34 prediction models. External validation was conducted in seven studies, while internal validation exclusively took place in eight studies. Three models were subjected to both internal and external validation, the area under the curve ranging from 0.610 to 0.921. A meta-analysis of high-frequency predictors identified several statistically significant factors, including recipient body mass index, Model for End-stage Liver Disease score, preoperative albumin levels, international normalized ratio, and surgical-related factors such as cold ischemia time. All studies were demonstrated a high risk of bias, mainly due to the use of unsuitable data sources and inadequate detail in the analysis reporting. CONCLUSIONS: The evaluation with prediction model risk of bias assessment tool indicated a considerable bias risk in current predictive models for acute kidney injury post liver transplantation. IMPLICATIONS FOR CLINICAL PRACTICE: The recognition of high bias in existing models calls for future research to employ rigorous methodologies and robust data sources, aiming to develop and validate more accurate and clinically applicable predictive models for acute kidney injury post liver transplantation.

Water (H2O) is ubiquitous in the environment and inevitably participates in many surface reactions, including CO oxidation. Acquiring a fundamental understanding of the roles of H2O molecules in CO oxidation poses a challenging but pivotal task in real-life catalysis. Herein, benefiting from state-of-the-art mass-spectrometric experiments and quantum chemical calculations, we identified that the dissociation of a H2O molecule on each of the cerium oxide cluster anions (CeO2)nO- (n = 1-4) at room temperature can create a new atomic oxygen radical (Oâ¢-) that then oxidizes a CO molecule. The size-dependent reactivity of H2O-mediated CO oxidation on (CeO2)nO- clusters was rationalized by the orbital compositions (O2p) and energies of the lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals of active Oâ¢- radicals modified by H2O dissociation. Our findings not only provide new insights into H2O-mediated CO oxidation but also demonstrate the importance of H2O in modulating the reactivity of the Oâ¢- radicals.

Emotional intelligence and prosocial behavior both play an important role in the development of children and adolescents. However, the strength of the association between emotional intelligence and prosocial behavior in children and adolescents is controversial. Hence, this study aimed to conduct a meta-analysis to evaluate the exact association between emotional intelligence and prosocial behavior in children and adolescents. Through a literature search, a total of 40 studies and 40 effect sizes were included in this meta-analysis (n = 20621). In this study, the main effect test shows that there is a significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence and prosocial behavior in children and adolescents (r = 0.43). Moreover, the present study found a significant moderating effect of age. More specifically, the association between early childhood (0-6 years) emotional intelligence and prosocial behavior is stronger than in middle childhood (7-12 years) and adolescence (13-18 years), and the correlation between emotional intelligence and prosocial behavior is stronger in boys than in girls. The culture was also found to be an important moderator, the association was found to be weaker for Western culture than for Eastern culture. Finally, a stronger correlation between the two variables was found when the emotional intelligence measurement tool was LZ (Emotional intelligence questionnaire compiled by Liu Yan and Zou Hong). These results indicated that improving children's and adolescents' emotional intelligence could be an important strategy to enhance children's prosocial behavior.

The identification of plant leaf diseases is crucial in precision agriculture, playing a pivotal role in advancing the modernization of agriculture. Timely detection and diagnosis of leaf diseases for preventive measures significantly contribute to enhancing both the quantity and quality of agricultural products, thereby fostering the in-depth development of precision agriculture. However, despite the rapid development of research on plant leaf disease identification, it still faces challenges such as insufficient agricultural datasets and the problem of deep learning-based disease identification models having numerous training parameters and insufficient accuracy. This paper proposes a plant leaf disease identification method based on improved SinGAN and improved ResNet34 to address the aforementioned issues. Firstly, an improved SinGAN called Reconstruction-Based Single Image Generation Network (ReSinGN) is proposed for image enhancement. This network accelerates model training speed by using an autoencoder to replace the GAN in the SinGAN and incorporates a Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM) into the autoencoder to more accurately capture important features and structural information in the images. Random pixel Shuffling are introduced in ReSinGN to enable the model to learn richer data representations, further enhancing the quality of generated images. Secondly, an improved ResNet34 is proposed for plant leaf disease identification. This involves adding CBAM modules to the ResNet34 to alleviate the limitations of parameter sharing, replacing the ReLU activation function with LeakyReLU activation function to address the problem of neuron death, and utilizing transfer learning-based training methods to accelerate network training speed. This paper takes tomato leaf diseases as the experimental subject, and the experimental results demonstrate that: (1) ReSinGN generates high-quality images at least 44.6 times faster in training speed compared to SinGAN. (2) The Tenengrad score of images generated by the ReSinGN model is 67.3, which is improved by 30.2 compared to the SinGAN, resulting in clearer images. (3) ReSinGN model with random pixel Shuffling outperforms SinGAN in both image clarity and distortion, achieving the optimal balance between image clarity and distortion. (4) The improved ResNet34 achieved an average recognition accuracy, recognition precision, recognition accuracy (redundant as it's similar to precision), recall, and F1 score of 98.57, 96.57, 98.68, 97.7, and 98.17%, respectively, for tomato leaf disease identification. Compared to the original ResNet34, this represents enhancements of 3.65, 4.66, 0.88, 4.1, and 2.47%, respectively.

Background: Limited evidence exists regarding the clinical baseline characteristics at admission for acute kidney injury (AKI) before and after interventional cardiac procedures (ICP) in elderly patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Methods: A total of 488 elderly patients were enrolled in this retrospective single-center study conducted from January 2019 to July 2022, and a classification and regression tree (CART) analysis was performed to identify the high-risk population. Results: The AKI incidence was 21.1 % (103/488) in this study, with 27 and 76 individuals developing AKI before and after ICP, respectively. CART analysis revealed that exposure to nephrotoxic drugs and diuretics had the strongest predictive capacities for identifying patients at risk of developing pre-ICP AKI, with the incidence among these high-risk patients ranging from 6.5 % to 13.8 %. Meanwhile, the optimum discriminators for identifying those at high risk of post-ICP AKI were the administration of diuretics, D-value ≤ -860 mL, age >73 years, and administration of nephrotoxic drugs, and the latter model predicted that the AKI incidence among high-risk patients was between 50.0 % and 60.0 %. Conclusions: Elderly patients with CAD exhibited an elevated incidence of AKI. CART models suggested that exposure to nephrotoxic drugs and diuretics, D-value, and age were significantly associated with AKI in the elderly with CAD. Importantly, these baseline characteristics at admission could be utilized to identify elderly patients at high risk of pre- and post-ICP AKI.

The optimal method for administering meropenem remains controversial. This study was conducted to explore the optimal two-step infusion strategy (TIT), and to investigate whether TIT is superior to intermittent infusion therapy (IIT) and prolonged infusion therapy (PIT). A physiologically based pharmacokinetics model for critically ill patients was established and evaluated. The validated model was utilized to evaluate the pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) target attainment of meropenem. The PK/PD target attainment of different TITs varied greatly, and the total infusion duration and the first-step dose greatly affected these values. The optimal TIT was 0.25 g (30 min) + 0.75 g (150 min) at MICs of ≤2 mg/L, and 0.25 g (45 min) + 0.75 g (255 min) at MICs of 4-8 mg/L. The PK/PD target attainment of optimal TIT, PIT, and IIT were 100 % at MICs of ≤1 mg/L. When MIC increased to 2-8 mg/L, the PK/PD target attainment of optimal TIT was similar to that of PIT and higher than IIT. In conclusion, TIT did not significantly improve the PK/PD target attainment of meropenem compared with PIT. IIT is adequate at MICs of ≤1 mg/L, and PIT may be the optimal meropenem infusion method in critically ill patients with MICs of 2-8 mg/L.

Heterologous sensitization of adenylyl cyclase (AC) results in elevated cAMP signaling transduction that contributes to drug dependence. Inhibiting cullin3-RING ligases by blocking the neddylation of cullin3 abolishes heterologous sensitization, however, the modulating mechanism remains uncharted. Here, we report an essential role of the potassium channel tetramerization domain (KCTD) protein 2, 5, and 17, especially the dominant isoform KCTD5 in regulating heterologous sensitization of AC1 and morphine dependence via working with cullin3 and the cullin-associated and neddylation-dissociated 1 (CAND1) protein. In cellular models, we observed enhanced association of KCTD5 with Gß and cullin3, along with elevated dissociation of Gß from AC1 as well as of CAND1 from cullin3 in heterologous sensitization of AC1. Given binding of CAND1 inhibits the neddylation of cullin3, we further elucidated that the enhanced interaction of KCTD5 with both Gß and cullin3 promoted the dissociation of CAND1 from cullin3, attenuated the inhibitory effect of CAND1 on cullin3 neddylation, ultimately resulted in heterologous sensitization of AC1. The paraventricular thalamic nucleus (PVT) plays an important role in mediating morphine dependence. Through pharmacological and biochemical approaches, we then demonstrated that KCTD5/cullin3 regulates morphine dependence via modulating heterologous sensitization of AC, likely AC1 in PVT in mice. In summary, the present study revealed the underlying mechanism of heterologous sensitization of AC1 mediated by cullin3 and discovered the role of KCTD proteins in regulating morphine dependence in mice.

OBJECTIVES: To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) stimulation of "Zusanli"(ST36) and"Xuehai"(SP10) on the angiogenesis of the local injured skin tissue in mice with psoriasis, so as to explore its mechanisms underlying improvement of psoriasis-induced skin lesions. METHODS: A total of 24 female BALB/c mice aged 6-8 weeks were randomly divided into control, model and EA groups, with 8 mice in each group. The psoriasis-like skin lesion model was established by application of 5% imiquimod (IMQ) cream to the mice's back skin, 62.5 mg/d, for 7 days after local depilation, and the mice of the control group received local application of an equal amount of petroleum jelly once a day for 7 days. EA stimulation (2 Hz/100 Hz) was applied to ST36 and SP10 for 30 min, once daily for 7 consecutive days. Photos of the topical injured skin at the back were taken every day, and the severity of psoriasis lesions (psoriasis area and severity index ï¼»PASIï¼½) was scaled. Following H.E. staining, the morphological changes in the injured skin tissue were observed with epidermal thickness analyzed, and the Masson staining was used to observe the proportion of collagen fibers in the injured skin tissues. Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of microvascular markers CD31 and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and the microvascular density (MVD) was calculated. Western blot was used to detect the expression levels of CD31, VEGF proteins and mitogen activated protein kinases (MAPK) signaling pathway related proteins p38, phosphorylated p38 (p-p38), extracellular regulated protein kinases (ERK), p-ERK, c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) and p-JNK in the injured skin tissue. RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the mice in the model group showed an evident increase in the erythema score, scales score, skin thickening score and PASI score, epidermal thickness, proportion of the collagen fibers, MVD value of CD31 and VEGF, and expression levels of CD31 and VEGF proteins, and p-p38/p38, p-ERK/ERK and p-JNK/JNK ratios in the injured skin tissue (P<0.001, P<0.01). In contrast to the model group, the EA group had a significant decrease in the levels of all the indexes mentioned above (P<0.05, P<0.01, P<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: EA intervention can improve the psoriasis-like skin lesions induced by IMQ in mice, which may be related with its functions in down-regulating the expression of angiogenic related factors CD31 and VEGF proteins and MAPK signaling pathway related proteins in the topical injured skin tissue.

Due to the lack of direct assessment metrics, existing studies on the intensity of agricultural policies often utilize indicators such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of agriculture or the quantity of agricultural policies as measures. Optimizing methods for analyzing the intensity of agricultural policies will significantly impact parameter selection in agricultural policy research and the evaluation of policy effectiveness. In this study, we constructed a Chinese Agricultural Policy Corpus using agricultural policies released by various governmental agencies at the national level in China from 1982 to April 2023. We quantified the values of agricultural domain terms in the corpus and evaluated the intensity of each agricultural policy document. The validation results of this study indicate a strong correlation between the intensity of agricultural policies and agricultural GDP. The trend in agricultural GDP changes lags behind policy intensity by 2.5 years (at a 95% confidence level), thus validating the rationality of our constructed corpus, agricultural policy scoring dataset, and methodology.

Objective: Population-based studies on chronic sinusitis have predominantly focused on Europe and the Americas, but research on chronic sinusitis within large Asian populations remains scarce. This study aims to explore the link between dietary factors and chronic sinusitis among ethnic Koreans in Asia. Design: A cross-sectional study. Setting: Data were collected from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) in 2012. Participants: Participants in the study were included based on a doctor's diagnosis of chronic sinusitis, as determined through the ear, nose, and throat examination questionnaires. Results: Adolescents [adjusted P value (aP) < .001, adjusted odds ratio (aOR) = 1.881, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.380-2.564] and individuals with college and higher education (aP = .042, aOR = 1.298, 95% CI = 1.009-1.669) were more likely to develop chronic rhinosinusitis. In addition, levels of dietary fat [P = .001, interquartile range (IQR) = 34.085] and energy intake (P = .004, IQR = 981.106) were associated with an increased risk of chronic sinusitis. Moreover, high dietary inflammatory index (aP < .001, aOR = 0.547, 95% CI = 0.415-0.721), and high intake of fried pork chops (aP = .028, aOR = 1.335, 95% CI = 1.033-1.777), bread (aP = .024, aOR = 1.364, 95% CI = 1.042-1.786), and rice (aP = .021, aOR = 1.382, 95% CI = 1.051-1.818) were risk factors for chronic sinusitis, while cucumber consumption (aP < .001, aOR = 0.547, 95% CI = 0.415-0.721) was a protective factor for chronic sinusitis. Conclusion: This study revealed a significant correlation between diet and development of chronic sinusitis. These findings suggest that promoting an anti-inflammatory dietary pattern and providing guidance on healthy eating habits could help reduce the incidence of chronic sinusitis and enhance its management.

BACKGROUND: Benign thyroid nodules (BTNs) represent a prevalent clinical challenge globally, with various ultrasound-guided ablation techniques developed for their management. Despite the availability of these methods, a comprehensive evaluation to identify the most effective technique remains absent. This study endeavors to bridge this knowledge gap through a network meta-analysis (NMA), aiming to enhance the understanding of the comparative effectiveness of different ultrasound-guided ablation methods in treating BTNs. METHODS: We comprehensively searched PubMed, Embase, Cochrane, Web of Science, Ovid, SCOPUS, and ProQuest for studies involving 16 ablation methods, control groups, and head-to-head trials. NMA was utilized to evaluate methods based on the percentage change in nodule volume, symptom score, and cosmetic score. This study is registered in INPLASY (registration number 202260061). RESULTS: Among 35 eligible studies involving 5655 patients, NMA indicated that RFA2 (radiofrequency ablation, 2 sessions) exhibited the best outcomes at 6 months for percentage change in BTN volume (SUCRA value 74.6), closely followed by RFA (SUCRA value 73.7). At 12 months, RFA was identified as the most effective (SUCRA value 81.3). Subgroup analysis showed RFA2 as the most effective for solid nodule volume reduction at 6 months (SUCRA value 75.6), and polidocanol ablation for cystic nodules (SUCRA value 66.5). CONCLUSION: Various ablation methods are effective in treating BTNs, with RFA showing notable advantages. RFA with 2 sessions is particularly optimal for solid BTNs, while polidocanol ablation stands out for cystic nodules.

Electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) is a green and highly efficient way to replace the industrial Haber-Bosch process. Herein, clusters consisting of three transition metal atoms loaded on C2N as NRR electrocatalysts are investigated using density functional theory (DFT). Meanwhile, Ca was introduced as a promoter and the role of Ca in NRR was investigated. It was found that Ca anchored to the catalyst can act as an electron donor and effectively promote the activation of N2 on M3. In both M3@C2N and M3Ca@C2N (M=Fe, Co, Ni), the limiting potential (UL) is less negative than that of the Ru(0001) surface and has the ability to suppress the competitive hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Among them, Fe3@C2N is suggested to be the most promising candidate for NRR with high thermal stability, strong N2 adsorption ability, low limiting potential, and good NRR selectivity. The concepts of trimetallic sites and alkaline earth metal promoters in this work provide theoretical guidance for the rational design of atomically active sites in electrocatalytic NRR.

BACKGROUND: Persistent human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the primary cause of cervical cancer. However, this can be prevented through vaccination and screening. This study aimed to clarify the relationship between behavior, knowledge, and attitude toward cervical cancer and regular screening and HPV infection among women in Lueyang County. METHODS: Women who underwent cervical cancer screening at the outpatient department of a maternal and child health center between September and December 2021 were invited to participate. In total, 2,303 women completed the questionnaire. Women who underwent regular or irregular screening were 1:1 matched for age. Differences in knowledge of HPV and attitudes toward HPV vaccination among different populations were assessed. Logistic regression analysis was performed to identify the factors influencing HPV infection. RESULTS: In total, 417 pairs of women who underwent regular and irregular screening were successfully matched. Multivariate logistic regression results indicated that age is a risk factor for HPV infection (OR=1.056 95%CI: [1.031 1.082]), while regular screening acts as a protective factor against HPV infection (OR=0.174 95%CI: [0.117 0.259]). Additionally, regular screening was associated with a higher level of knowledge about HPV among women compared to those who did not undergo regular screening (p<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Women in Lueyang County have low levels of knowledge regarding HPV and cervical cancer. Regular screening is a protective factor against HPV infection. The regular screening group demonstrates a higher level of HPV knowledge compared with the irregular screening group. These findings highlight the importance of regular screening and the need to strengthen public health education.
