RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To compare the clinical efficacy of heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with tropisetron hydrochloride and tropisetron hydrochloride alone in the treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). METHODS: Sixty CINV patients were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with tropisetron hydrochloride. On the basis of the treatment in the control group, heat-sensitive acupoints were explored at Zhongwan (CV 12), Shenque (CV 8), Qihai (CV 6), Guanyuan (CV 4), Shangwan (CV 13), Xiawan (CV 10), Jianli (CV 11) and bilateral Zusanli (ST 36), Neiguan (PC 6), Tianshu (ST 25), Liangmen (ST 21) areas in the observation group, and heat-sensitive moxibustion was applied at heat-sensitive acupoints. The treatment started from the day of chemotherapy in both groups, once a day for 7 days. The occurrence and severity of nausea and vomiting after chemotherapy were recorded after each treatment on the 1st to 7th days of chemotherapy in the two groups, the complete remission rate was evaluated. The KPS score, quality of life scale score before and after treatment and incidence of myelosuppression were compared between the two groups. RESULTS: On the 2nd to 4th days of chemotherapy, the incidence and severity of nausea and vomiting in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), the complete remission rates of nausea and vomiting were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the KPS score in the observation group was higher than those before treatment and in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of emotional function and overall health status in the observation group were higher than those before treatment and in the control group (P<0.05), the scores of fatigue, pain, insomnia, loss of appetite and diarrhea were lower than those before treatment and in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of myelosuppression in the observation group was 20.0% (6/30), which was lower than 46.7% (14/30) in the control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Heat-sensitive moxibustion combined with tropisetron hydrochloride can effectively reduce nausea and vomiting after chemotherapy in patients with malignant tumor, improve the quality of life, relieve the myelosuppression caused by chemotherapy drugs.

RESUMO

RNA-binding proteins (RBPs)-RNA networks have contributed to cancer development. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are considered as protein recruiters; nevertheless, the patterns of circRNA-protein interactions in colorectal cancer (CRC) are still lacking. Processing bodies (PBs) formed through liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) are membrane-less organelles (MLOs) consisting of RBPs and RNA. Previous evidence suggests a connection between PBs dynamics and cancer progression. Despite the increasingly acknowledged crucial role of RBPs and RNA in the accumulation and maintenance of MLOs, there remains a lack of specific research on the interactions between PBs-related RBPs and circRNAs in CRC. Herein, we identify that MEX-3 RNA binding family member A (MEX3A), frequently upregulated in CRC tissues, predicts poorer patient survival. Elevated MEX3A accelerates malignance and inhibits autophagy of CRC cells. Importantly, MEX3A undergoes intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs)-dependent LLPS in the cytoplasm. Specifically, circMPP6 acts as a scaffold to facilitate the interaction between MEX3A and PBs proteins. The MEX3A/circMPP6 complex modulates PBs dynamic and promotes UPF-mediated phosphodiesterase 5A (PDE5A) mRNA degradation, consequently leading to the aggressive properties of CRC cells. Clinically, CRC patients exhibiting high MEX3A expression and low PDE5A expression have the poorest overall survival. Our findings reveal a collaboration between MEX3A and circMPP6 in the regulation of mRNA decay through triggering the PBs aggregation, which provides prognostic markers and/or therapeutic targets for CRC.

RESUMO

The paper introduces CHEN Rixin's experience and ideas of heat-sensitive moxibustion for Wenyang Yangshen (warming-up yang and nourishing the spirit) in treatment of insomnia of yang deficiency. This type of insomnia is caused by yang insufficiency of the body and malnutrition of the spirit. The treatment focuses on Wenyang Yangshen. Replenishing yang (Shenque [CV 8], Qihai [CV 6] and Guanyuan [CV 4]) is combined with promoting yang circulation (Taiyang [EX-HN 5]). The acupoint combination is optimized through identifying the heat sensitivity. Sparrow-pecking moxibustion and mild moxibustion are used to control the appropriate moxibustion temperature, efficiently stimulate deqi and individually saturate the dose of moxibustion so as to target the principle of treatment and improve the sleep quality.

RESUMO

AIMS: This investigation aims to elucidate the mechanism underlying sorafenib-induced ferroptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). METHODS: The role of dual specificity phosphatase 4 (DUSP4) in sorafenib-treated HCC was investigated using comprehensive assessments both in vitro and in vivo, including Western blotting, qRT-PCR, cell viability assay, lipid reactive oxygen species (ROS) assay, immunohistochemistry, and xenograft tumor mouse model. Additionally, label-free quantitative proteomics was employed to identify potential proteins associated with DUSP4. RESULTS: Our study revealed that suppression of DUSP4 expression heightens the susceptibility of HCC cells to ferroptosis inducers, specifically sorafenib and erastin, in both in vitro and in vivo settings. Furthermore, we identified DUSP4-mediated regulation of key ferroptosis-related markers, such as ferritin light chain (FTL) and ferritin heavy chain 1 (FTH1). Notably, label-free quantitative proteomics unveiled the phosphorylation of threonine residue T148 on YTH Domain Containing 1 (YTHDC1) by DUSP4. Further investigations unraveled that YTHDC1, functioning as an mRNA nuclear export regulator, is a direct target of DUSP4, orchestrating the subcellular localization of FTL and FTH1 mRNAs. Significantly, our study highlights a strong correlation between elevated DUSP4 expression and sorafenib resistance in HCC. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings introduce DUSP4 as a negative regulator of sorafenib-induced ferroptosis. This discovery opens new avenues for the development of ferroptosis-based therapeutic strategies tailored for HCC treatment.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Data on nail psoriasis (PsO) in China are scarce. OBJECTIVES: To provide nail PsO-related data regarding epidemiologic characteristics, manifestations, fungal infections, arthritic complaints and treatments that may facilitate improved patient management globally. METHODS: From August 2021 to August 2022, patients with nail PsO were enrolled in a prospective multicentre observational study at 25 hospitals in China. We collected and analysed data concerning nail PsO demography, clinical signs, fungal detection, arthritic symptoms and treatment. RESULTS: A total of 817 patients with nail PsO were involved, with a mean body mass index of 24.13 ± 2.93. In addition, 71.41% of the patients were male. The Nail PsO Severity Index score was weakly positively correlated with body surface area. The percentage of nail involvement was 95.29% for fingernails and 57.18% for toenails, with pitting (67.11%) and subungual hyperkeratosis (60.40%) being the most prevalent manifestations, respectively. Toenails showed a significantly higher frequency of nailfold scales, subungual hyperkeratosis and nail plate crumbling and a lower frequency of splinter haemorrhages, pitting and erythema of the lunula. A total of 13.26% of the PsO patients had onychomycosis, and 77.08% were observed in the toenails. Articular symptoms were reported by 12.17% of the patients, with the peripheral type being predominant. Significant associations between articular symptoms and nailfold swelling, subungual hyperkeratosis, nailfold scales, onycholysis and longitudinal ridges were found. Only 2.30% (20 out of 871) of patients with nail PsO received treatment. The most frequently employed therapy for cutaneous PsO with nail involvement was biologic therapy (n = 366). CONCLUSIONS: PsO showed distinct manifestations in the toenails and fingernails. Additionally, toenail PsO combined with onychomycosis requires special attention. Articular symptoms in psoriatic patients are associated with specific nail changes. It is important to research and advocate for more potent treatments for nail PsO.

RESUMO

Background: Acupuncture therapy has been widely used in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain (MP) in many countries around the world. However, there are no bibliometric studies on acupuncture therapy for MP. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyze the current status, frontiers and hot spots in the use of acupuncture therapy for the treatment of MP. Methods: Literature on acupuncture therapy for MP was extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection database from 2003 to 2022. CiteSpace 6.2.R4 (64-bit) software was used to analyze the number and centrality of journals, countries, institutions, authors, references and keywords, and the functions of co-occurrence and clustering were applied to draw a visual knowledge map. Results: Over the past 20 years, the annual journal publications have been on a steady upward trend, with 438 articles published in 143 journals, including Acupuncture in Medicine Journal published the most (28, 6.39%), JAMA-Journal of the American Medical Association was the journal with the highest impact factor (IF = 120.7003), USA dominated with the most publications (140, 31.96%) among 44 countries, and among 196 research organizations Kyung Hee University was the most prolific (19, 4.34%) and Ha, In-Hyuk was the most published author (9, 2.05%). "Acupuncture" is the most popular and highly sought after keywords. "Low back pain" is the keyword with the highest centrality. Conclusion: This article provides the current situation of the use of acupuncture therapy in the treatment of MP in the past 20 years, and statistical analysis reveals that "low back pain", "knit osteoporosis" and "break cancer" are new research diseases related to acupuncture therapy for MP, and "myobasic trigger point" is a new research direction of acupuncture therapy for MP. Therefore, this study helps researchers grasp the research hotspots and provide certain references for in-depth research and future topic selection.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Inconsistent pathological responses of tumor and lymph nodes (LNs) were frequently observed in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) receiving neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy. However, there is a lack of studies to report the prognostic significance and the relevant clinicopathological factors of tumor-nodal inconsistent responses after neoadjuvant immunotherapy or chemoimmunotherapy. Therefore, this study aimed to depict the inconsistent pathological combined tumor-nodal responses in NSCLC patients after neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy as well as the underlying clinical significance. METHODS: A total of 81 node-positive NSCLC patients who underwent neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy were eligible for inclusion. Demographic, radiologic, and pathological features of patients were recorded. Patients with pathological complete response of both tumor (ypT(pCR)) and LNs (ypN0) were classified into the combined good responder group and the relevant clinicopathological features were evaluated. The event-free survival (EFS) outcome was analyzed using Kaplan-Meier analysis. RESULTS: The ypN0 and ypT(pCR) rates were 74.1 % and 42.0 %, respectively. A significant correlation was observed between ypT(pCR) and ypN0 (P = 0.003), but inconsistent responses remained. The combined responses of the primary tumor and LNs demonstrated a significant association with the prognosis outcome (P = 0.005). Notably, patients who received at least twice of their infusions of immune checkpoint inhibitors after 15:30 had a worse prognosis (P = 0.015). CONCLUSION: A significant but not absolute correlation was observed between good tumor response and good nodal response in NSCLC patients after neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy, but inconsistent responses were also found. The combination of tumor and nodal responses is significantly associated with prognosis and combined good responder can be used as a reliable prognosis predictor.

RESUMO

Red ginseng is a classical processed product from Panax ginseng. C.A Meyer with many bioactive components formed through the Maillard reaction called Maillard reaction products. Maillard reaction refers to complex reversible reactions between amino acids or proteins and glycosides, which are used in food processing and storage, as well as in tobacco development, traditional Chinese medicine processing, and wine brewing. Arginyl-fructosyl-glucose (AFG) is a main non-saponin (ginsenoside) component produced in red ginseng processing, with high antioxidant, anti-apoptotic and neuroprotective efficiencies. However, its effects and mechanisms against oxidation stress in on the brain remain elusive. Therefore, this study aimed at exploring the therapeutic effect exerted by AFG on murine subacute brain aging induced by D-galactose (D-gal) and its potential molecular mechanism in the murine model, finding that AFG (40 and 80 mg/kg) significantly ameliorated D-gal-resulted changes in pathology. Besides, according to the transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Western blot, AFG corrected the mitochondrial dysfunction resulted from ROS, thereby delaying the mice brain aging caused by D-gal.

RESUMO

Background: This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the effectiveness and safety of minimally invasive surgery [MIS, including robotic-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (RATS) and video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS)] and open thoracotomy (OT) for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with N2 disease. Methods: We searched online databases and studies from the creation of the database to August 2022, comparing the MIS group to the OT group for NSCLC with N2 disease. Study endpoints included intraoperative outcomes [e.g., conversion, estimated blood loss (EBL), surgery time (ST), total lymph nodes (TLN), and R0 resection], postoperative outcomes [e.g., length of stay (LOS) and complication], and survival outcomes [e.g., 30-day mortality, overall survival (OS), and disease-free survival (DFS)]. We estimated outcomes using random effects meta-analysis to account for studies with high heterogeneity (I2 > 50 or p < 0.05). Otherwise, we used a fixed-effect model. We calculated odds ratios (ORs) for binary outcomes and standard mean differences (SMDs) for continuous outcomes. Treatment effects on OS and DFS were described by hazard ratio (HR). Results: This systematic review and meta-analysis of 15 studies on MIS vs. OT for NSCLC with N2 disease included 8,374 patients. Compared to OT, patients that underwent MIS had less estimated blood loss (EBL) (SMD = - 64.82, p < 0.01), shorter length of stay (LOS) (SMD = -0.15, p < 0.01), higher R0 resection rate (OR = 1.22, p = 0.049), lower 30-day mortality (OR = 0.67, p = 0.03), and longer overall survival (OS) (HR = 0.61, P < 0.01). The results showed no statistically significant differences in surgical time (ST), total lymph nodes (TLN), complications, and disease-free survival (DFS) between the two groups. Conclusion: Current data suggest that minimally invasive surgery may provide satisfying outcomes, a higher R0 resection rate, and better short-term and long-term survival than open thoracotomy. RESUMO

Previous reports have confirmed that saponins (ginsenosides) derived from Panax ginseng. C. A. Meyer exerted obvious memory-enhancing and antiaging effects, and the simpler the structure of ginsenosides, the better the biological activity. In this work, we aimed to explore the therapeutic effect and underlying molecular mechanism of 20(S)-protopanaxatriol (PPT), the aglycone of panaxatriol-type ginsenosides, by establishing D-galactose (D-gal)-induced subacute brain aging model in mice. The results showed that PPT treatment (10 and 20 mg/kg) for 4 weeks could significantly restore the D-gal (800 mg/kg for 8 weeks)-induced impaired memory function, choline dysfunction, and redox system imbalance in mice. Meanwhile, PPT also significantly reduced the histopathological changes caused by D-gal exposure. Moreover, PPT could increase TFEB/LAMP2 protein expression to promote mitochondrial autophagic flow. Importantly, the results from molecular docking showed that PPT had good binding ability with LAMP2 and TFEB, suggesting that TFEB/LAMP2 might play an important role in PPT to alleviate D-gal-caused brain aging.

RESUMO

The paper reviews the inheritance, innovation and development of heat-sensitive moxibustion; and explores the path for the clinical development of moxibustion of traditional Chinese medicine moxibustion (TCM). Practice has shown that the laws of clinical research on TCM moxibustion refer to phenomenon discovery, exploration of rules, technological innovation, verification of curative effects, theory sublimation, returning to clinical practice, discipline construction, and experimental research. It is deeply realized that TCM research should be based on clinical practice, originated from classics, focused on theoretical innovation and in serve of clinical practice.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: In this prospective study, we aimed to investigate the role of patient-reported dysphagia relief in predicting pathological tumor responses to neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy (NAIC) in locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) patients. METHODS: This study was designed as a multi-center, prospective study including ESCC patients who received NAIC in the discovery and validation cohorts. The patients' responses to the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire-OES 18 and QLQ-C30 were collected at multiple time points. Subsequent time point-intensive esophageal cancer-specific dysphagia trajectories were depicted using growth mixture modeling (GMM) analysis. Furthermore, univariate and multivariate binary logistic regression was used to assess the independent predictors for pathological tumor responses. RESULTS: A total of 120 patients from the discovery cohort and 42 patients from the validation cohort were included in the analysis. In the discovery cohort, 19 (22.9%) of the 83 patients achieved pCR status. In the independent validation cohort, 24 patients underwent surgery, and 9 (37.5%) patients achieved pCR status. Trajectory analysis showed that, in the pCR group, the beginning of rapid declines in the slope occurred on days 3, 6, and 9. Further multivariate analysis showed that the degree of dysphagia relief (△dysphagia%) was the only significant independent predictor for pCR status (OR = 3.267, 95% CI 1.66-6.428, P < 0.001). The AUC value for △dysphagia% was 0.961 (95% CI: 0.922-0.999, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: The current study demonstrated that a longitudinal patient-reported outcome (PRO) was an easily obtained, cost-effective, and noninvasive tool for predicting tumor responses to neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy.

RESUMO

Moxibustion therapy is a unique health resource in China, which is advantageous by its irreplaceable effectiveness in treatment, disease prevention and healthcare. But, moxibustion therapy used in primary care institutions in China is far from the due role of this therapy played in medical practice. The authors believe that the heat-sensitive moxibustion (HSM) robot should be developed by integrating the manipulation of moxibustion therapy with modern artifical intelligence technology so that moxibustion therapy can be operated precisely and easily, deqi of moxibustion be effectively stimulated and the cost of its manual manipulation be reduced. Eventually, the technology of moxibustion therapy can be popularized in the primary care institutions to serve the health of the people. This paper introduces the creation of HSM technology, the research and development (R&D) of HSM robot, and its advantages, as well as the application prospects. It is anticipated that the R&D of HSM robot may speed up the development of moxibustion therapy worldwide.

RESUMO

The significance of 5-methylcytosine (m5C) methylation in human malignancies has become an increasing focus of investigation. Here, we show that m5C regulators including writers, readers and erasers, are predominantly upregulated in urothelial carcinoma of the bladder (UCB) derived from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center and The Cancer Genome Atlas cohort. In addition, NOP2/Sun RNA methyltransferase family member 2 (NSUN2) as a methyltransferase and Aly/REF export factor (ALYREF) as a nuclear m5C reader, are frequently coexpressed in UCB. By applying patient-derived organoids model and orthotopic xenograft mice model, we demonstrate that ALYREF enhances proliferation and invasion of UCB cells in an m5C-dependent manner. Integration of tanscriptome-wide RNA bisulphite sequencing (BisSeq), RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) and RNA Immunoprecipitation (RIP)-seq analysis revealed that ALYREF specifically binds to hypermethylated m5C site in RAB, member RAS oncogene family like 6 (RABL6) and thymidine kinase 1 (TK1) mRNA via its K171 domain. ALYREF controls UCB malignancies through promoting hypermethylated RABL6 and TK1 mRNA for splicing and stabilization. Moreover, ALYREF recognizes hypermethylated m5C site of NSUN2, resulting in NSUN2 upregulation in UCB. Clinically, the patients with high coexpression of ALYREF/RABL6/TK1 axis had the poorest overall survival. Our study unveils an m5C dependent cross-regulation between nuclear reader ALYREF and m5C writer NSUN2 in activation of hypermethylated m5C oncogenic RNA through promoting splicing and maintaining stabilization, consequently leading to tumor progression, which provides profound insights into therapeutic strategy for UCB.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To construct a new pulmonary nodule diagnostic model with high diagnostic efficiency, non-invasive and simple to measure. METHODS: This study included 424 patients with radioactive pulmonary nodules who underwent preoperative 7-autoantibody (7-AAB) panel testing, CT-based AI diagnosis, and pathological diagnosis by surgical resection. The patients were randomly divided into a training set (n = 212) and a validation set (n = 212). The nomogram was developed through forward stepwise logistic regression based on the predictive factors identified by univariate and multivariate analyses in the training set and was verified internally in the verification set. RESULTS: A diagnostic nomogram was constructed based on the statistically significant variables of age as well as CT-based AI diagnostic, 7-AAB panel, and CEA test results. In the validation set, the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and AUC were 82.29%, 90.48%, 97.24%, and 0.899 (95%[CI], 0.851-0.936), respectively. The nomogram showed significantly higher sensitivity than the 7-AAB panel test result (82.29% vs. 35.88%, p < 0.001) and CEA (82.29% vs. 18.82%, p < 0.001); it also had a significantly higher specificity than AI diagnosis (90.48% vs. 69.04%, p = 0.022). For lesions with a diameter of ≤ 2 cm, the specificity of the Nomogram was higher than that of the AI diagnostic system (90.00% vs. 67.50%, p = 0.022). CONCLUSIONS: Based on the combination of a 7-AAB panel, an AI diagnostic system, and other clinical features, our Nomogram demonstrated good diagnostic performance in distinguishing lung nodules, especially those with ≤ 2 cm diameters. KEY POINTS: • A novel diagnostic model of lung nodules was constructed by combining high-specific tumor markers with a high-sensitivity artificial intelligence diagnostic system. • The diagnostic model has good diagnostic performance in distinguishing malignant and benign pulmonary nodules, especially for nodules smaller than 2 cm. • The diagnostic model can assist the clinical decision-making of pulmonary nodules, with the advantages of high diagnostic efficiency, noninvasive, and simple measurement.

RESUMO

Pathogenic dental plaque biofilms are universal and harmful, which can result in oral infections and systemic diseases. Many conventional therapeutic methods have proven insufficient or ineffective against plaque biofilms. Therefore, new strategies are urgently needed. Fusobacterium nucleatum (F. nucleatum), a periodontal pathogen associated with a variety of oral and systemic diseases, is thought to be central to the development and structure of dental plaques. Here, ultra-small gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) were prepared. They exhibited potent antibacterial activity against F. nucleatum through enhanced destruction of bacterial membranes and generation of reactive oxygen species. Furthermore, due to their excellent penetration, the AuNCs could inhibit biofilm formation and destroy mature biofilms in vitro. Their antibiofilm efficacy was further confirmed in a mouse model, where they reduced biofilm accumulation and ameliorated inflammation. Meanwhile, the disruption of oral and gut microbiota caused by colonization of oral F. nucleatum could be partially restored through AuNCs treatment. Therefore, AuNCs could be considered as promising antibiofilm agents and have great potential in the clinical treatment of dental plaque.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Successful practice of precision medicine in advanced lung cancers relies on therapeutic regimens tailored to individual molecular characteristics. The aim of this study was to investigate the accuracy of small specimens for molecular profiling using next-generation sequencing (NGS). METHODS: Genetic alternations, tumor mutational burden (TMB), status of microsatellite instability (MSI), and expression of programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1) were compared side-by-side between the concurrently obtained core needle biopsy (CNB) and resection specimens in 17 patients with resectable non-small cell lung cancers. RESULTS: DNA yield and library complexity were significantly lower in CNB specimens (both p < 0.01), whereas the insert size, sequencing depth, and Q30 ratio were similar between the matched specimens (all p > 0.05). The total numbers of genetic alternations detected in resection and CNB specimens were 186 and 211, respectively, with 156 alternations in common, yielding a specific concordance rate of 83.9%. The prevalence of mutations in 8 major driver genes was 100% identical between surgical and CNB specimens, though the allele frequency was lower in CNB specimens, with a median underestimation of 57%. Results of TMB were similar (p = 0.547) and MSI status was 100% matched in all paired specimens. CONCLUSIONS: Pulmonary CNB specimens were suitable for NGS given the satisfactory accuracy when compared to corresponding surgical specimens. NGS results yielding from CNB specimens should be deemed reliable to provide instructive information for the treatment of advanced lung cancers.

RESUMO

Background: Acupuncture therapy has already extensively used in many countries around the world to treat primary dysmenorrhea. But there is no bibliometric analysis on this aspect. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the research trends of acupuncture therapy in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea through literature research from 2001 to 2021 by using Citespace 6.1.R1(64-bit) Basic. Methods: Relevant literature is extracted from the Web of Science database. CiteSpace conducts cooperative network analysis on the information of authors, countries and institutions, co-occurrence network analysis on keywords, and co-citation analysis on cited journals, cited authors and cited references. Results: A total of 189 publications were extracted from 2001 to 2021. The total numbers of publication have steadily increased over the past two decades, and we have identified the most active countries, institutions, journals and authors in the field of acupuncture for primary dysmenorrhea. The EVID-BASED COMPL ALT was the most productive journal, and the COCHRANE DB SYST REV with the highest IF. The first in the frequency and centrality is the journal of AM J OBSTET GYNECOL. The most productive country and institution are China and Beijing University Chinese Medicine. YANG J was the most prolific author and CHEN H had the highest citation counts. The centrality of cite references ranked the first conducted by Burnett M. The keyword of "primary dysmenorrhea" ranked first for research developments with the highest frequency. Conclusion: The research results of Metrology in this paper provide the current situation and trend of clinical research on primary dysmenorrhea acupuncture Therapy in recent twenty-one years, which is helpful for researchers to identify the hot spots in this field and explore new directions of future research.
