RESUMO

Localisation phenomena in highly disordered metals close to the extreme conditions determined by the Mott-Ioffe-Regel (MIR) limit when the electron mean free path is approximately equal to the interatomic distance is a challenging problem. Here, to shed light on these localisation phenomena, we studied the dc transport and optical conductivity properties of nanoscaled multilayered films composed of disordered metallic Ta and magnetic FeNi nanoisland layers, where ferromagnetic FeNi nanoislands have giant magnetic moments of 10[Formula: see text]-10[Formula: see text] Bohr magnetons ([Formula: see text]). In these multilayered structures, FeNi nanoisland giant magnetic moments are interacting due to the indirect exchange forces acting via the Ta electron subsystem. We discovered that the localisation phenomena in the disordered Ta layer lead to a decrease in the Drude contribution of free charge carriers and the appearance of the low-energy electronic excitations in the 1-2 eV spectral range characteristic of electronic correlations, which may accompany the formation of electronic inhomogeneities. From the consistent results of the dc transport and optical studies we found that with an increase in the FeNi layer thickness across the percolation threshold evolution from the superferromagnetic to ferromagnetic behaviour within the FeNi layer leads to the delocalisation of Ta electrons from the associated localised electronic states. On the contrary, we discovered that when the FeNi layer is discontinuous and represented by randomly distributed superparamagnetic FeNi nanoislands, the Ta layer normalized dc conductivity falls down below the MIR limit by about 60%. The discovered effect leading to the dc conductivity fall below the MIR limit can be associated with non-ergodicity and purely quantum (many-body) localisation phenomena, which need to be challenged further.

RESUMO

Post-resection wound healing, oral microbiota composition and saliva lysozyme activity were assessed in 36 patients with tongue carcinoma before and after surgery with the local application of 2% solution of acid-diluted chitosan in the postoperative period. The microbiocenosis of the oral cavity before treatment in cancer patients was represented by conditionally pathogenic and pathogenic bacteria, whose number is more than 4 lg CFU/cm2, indicating dysbiosis; the lysozyme level was reduced, accounting for 25.4±8.5 µg/ml. After the radical hemi-glossectomy the reduction in the frequency and quantity of conditionally pathogenic and pathogenic microorganisms was statistically determined, as well as an increase in the level of lysozyme of saliva on the 10 day of treatment. Patients receiving local treatment with chitosan showed an increasing number of normal microbiota in 1,5-2 times, and the level of lysozyme in 8 times (amounted to 202.87±56.85 µg/ml).

RESUMO

The results of a detailed study of magnetic properties and of the microstructure of SiMn films with a small deviation from stoichiometry are presented. The aim was to reveal the origin of the high temperature ferromagnetic ordering in such compounds. Unlike SiMn single crystals with the Curie temperature ~30 K, considered Si1-x Mn x compounds with x = 0.5 +Δx and Δx in the range of 0.01-0.02 demonstrate a ferromagnetic state above room temperature. Such a ferromagnetic state can be explained by the existence of highly defective B20 SiMn nanocrystallites. These defects are Si vacancies, which are suggested to possess magnetic moments. The nanocrystallites interact with each other through paramagnons (magnetic fluctuations) inside a weakly magnetic manganese silicide matrix giving rise to a long range ferromagnetic percolation cluster. The studied structures with a higher value of Δx ≈ 0.05 contained three different magnetic phases: (a)-the low temperature ferromagnetic phase related to SiMn; (b)-the above mentioned high temperature phase with Curie temperature in the range of 200-300 K depending on the growth history and

RESUMO

The anomalous Hall effect (AHE) arises from the interplay of spin-orbit interactions and ferromagnetic order and is a potentially useful probe of electron spin polarization, especially in nanoscale systems where direct measurement is not feasible. While AHE is rather well-understood in metallic ferromagnets, much less is known about the relevance of different physical mechanisms governing AHE in insulators. As ferromagnetic insulators, but not metals, lend themselves to gate-control of electron spin polarization, understanding AHE in the insulating state is valuable from the point of view of spintronic applications. Among the mechanisms proposed in the literature for AHE in insulators, the one related to a geometric (Berry) phase effect has been elusive in past studies. The recent discovery of quantized AHE in magnetically doped topological insulators - essentially a Berry phase effect - provides strong additional motivation to undertake more careful search for geometric phase effects in AHE in the magnetic semiconductors. Here we report our experiments on the temperature and magnetic field dependences of AHE in insulating, strongly-disordered two-dimensional Mn delta-doped semiconductor heterostructures in the hopping regime. In particular, it is shown that at sufficiently low temperatures, the mechanism of AHE related to the Berry phase is favoured.

RESUMO

After the supervision over patients with cancer of mucous membrane of oral cavity (MMOC) admitted for treatment in the Tver Regional Clinical Oncological Hospital (TRCOH), the analysis of 427 primary revealed cases of cancer of mobile part of the tongue MPoT (S 02) was carried out. The study included retrospective analysis of case records of 237 patients treated from 1997 to 2013 with the diagnosis of MPoT and prospective examination of 190 patients treated by authors in specialized departments of TRCOH. On the basis of questioning of 67 III-IV stages tongue carcinoma patients at the age of 50-59 years clinical course features, cancer risk factors and oral care patterns were studied. It was revealed that patients often make decision to see an oncologist to meet relatives wishes, prefer self-treatment, trust hearings and quacks or simply hope for self-recovery. Studying of dental status revealed high prevalence and intensity of caries. All males and the majority of sampled women weren't informed about additional methods of oral cavity hygiene (dental floss, mouthwashes, gels) and had unsatisfactory or bad level of Fedorov-Volodkina hygienic index. We revealed a high necessity in treatment of caries and its complications, an average of 3.61 and 2.73 teeth needed filling and 4,43 and 1.77 teeth - extraction in male and female patients, correspondently. The received data identify a great need for dental treatment and patient education in patients with tongue malignancy.

RESUMO

Results of 128 findings on cheiloplasty with full thickness ayer of labio-buccal flaps were summarized by the autors. Esthetic and functional results of postresectional cheiloplasty with sliding of full-thickness labio-buccal flaps were preferable when central and labial defects 1/3-1/2 and central defect 2/3 of the lower lip were filled in. The investigators suggested their own modification of the metod which combines quality of reconstruction of muscular oral sphincter and advantages of given expansion of oral fissure. With the modified method better esthetic and functional results were obtained.

RESUMO

The incidence of malignant tumors of the buccal mucosa and stages of carcinoma were analyzed in 565 primary patients for a period of 10 years. The study showed social and organization problems in the disease diagnosis: refusal of patients from medical consultation, unjustified omitting of examination of the oral cavity aimed at cancer detection during preventive examinations of the population and treatment of odontogenic diseases, erroneous interpretation of pathological changes in the buccal mucosa, unjustified long observation and treatment by non-oncological specialists, incompetence of physicians, etc. Approaches to optimization of diagnosis are outlined: improvement of the efficiency of preventive examinations by non-oncological specialists, specialized upgrading of dentists and increase of their professional responsibility, and early use of morphological methods of examination of pathological processes in the buccal mucosa.

RESUMO

The authors sum up the results of combined and reconstructive surgical treatment of 213 cases with squamous-cell carcinoma of the lower lip, carried out in Tver Oncological Center during the recent decade. Oncological and functional esthetic results of different methods of primary cheiloplasty are analyzed. The findings confirm that clinoid resection of the lip is not permissible as a method of treatment and that indications for resection of the lower lip without primary cheiloplasty should be limited. The authors suggest their own method for surgical repair of the lower lip, which was used in the treatment of 23 patients with carcinomas. Evaluation of the adequacy and efficiency of the method and analysis of the incidence and type of postoperative complications, function of the lower lip after its repair, and esthetic results showed high esthetic and functional efficiency of the new method, due to lesser trauma of the soft tissues, lesser blood loss, and shorter time required for elevation of triangular mucous flaps, adequate blood supply to triangular mucous grafts and lower risk of their aseptic necrosis, anatomic topographic division of vertical fragments of skin and mucous wounds of the lip, and lower risk of secondary wound infection.

RESUMO

Tissue response to the implanted iodine-containing thread and its antibacterial activity were studied in the experiment. When compared with the existing analogues, the thread studied, causes the lesser inflammatory response, has pronounced antimicrobial action and has no negative effect on the course of a wound process. Universality of antiseptic action of iodine creates wide possibilities for use of the threads in the surgical practice.

RESUMO

This paper suggests a biomechanical model for osteosynthesis of tubular bones with the use of pins made of biocompatible polymers for the substantiation of the basic physicomechanical requirements to jointing elements (pins) with regard to functional loads, design features of pins and physicochemical properties of the materials used. It is shown that the known polymers including the biocompatible ones, do not individually possess the necessary strength characteristics for the production of jointing elements for highly loaded tubular bones. The properties of pins, made of biocompatible polymers, can be increased by optimizing their shapes and modifying the materials.

RESUMO

The properties of biocompatible orthopaedic polymer developed as an alternative to the metallic materials used in reconstructive bone surgery are discussed. Experiments were conducted to enhance the mechanical characteristics of the polymer by incorporation of various fibres. The result was a super biocompatible orthopaedic polymer which could be a valuable alternative to intra-medullary long bone metallic rods, whilst normal biocompatible orthopaedic polymer is currently used for bone filling and reconstructive surgery.

RESUMO

The paper provides technical characteristics of ESB biocompatible polymer connective elements (of polymethacrylate butyl) for internal organs. Problems of the changes of their physico-mechanical properties during experiments in model environments were discussed. Also results of medical and experimental studies of connective elements on animals, and of their biodestruction, were analyzed. Findings which could be used in clinical use of the connective elements in operating parenchymatous organs and in stomatology and traumatology are shown. On the basis of results obtained after 128 operations it was found that use of ESB connective elements ensures high reliability of haemostasis, and prevents unsealing, both physical and biological, of internal sutures and rules out any adhesion. Moreover it diminishes, in some cases even rules out, the possibility of post-operative complications.
