[Benign multilocular cystic nephroma]. / Benign multilocular cystic nephroma.

A case of benign multilocular cystic nephroma in a young female is presented. The radiological features (urography, ultrasonography, computed tomography and angiography) are not specific for this diagnosis. The differential diagnosis includes a cystic Wilms' tumor in children and a cystic renal cell carcinoma in adults. The final diagnosis is obtained by histological examination of the resected specimen.

Cerebral metastatic malignant melanoma: CT and MR findings with pathological correlation.

Cerebral metastases of malignant melanoma usually have a characteristic appearance on CT and MRI. They present as multiple small lesions at the junction of grey and white matter. On CT the lesions are slightly hyperdense with moderate contrast enhancement. On MRI, typical T1 and T2 shortening is seen. In our case these findings were due to abundant presence of melanin without associated hemorrhage.

[Association of an appendicovesical fistula and an appendiceal adenoma. Case report]. / Association d'une fistule appendico-vésicale et d'un adénome de l'appendice. Rapport d'un cas.

A new case of appendicovesical fistula is reported. A hundred cases of such fistula are described in the literature. Usually the origin is appendicitis. Cecal diverticulitis, cystadenocarcinoma or carcinoid tumours of appendix are other less common causes. In one case, association with neuroma of appendix is found. We report a case of appendicovesical fistula caused by papillo-villous adenoma of appendix. In this case, echography and cystoscopy were helpful in management of diagnosis and planning for the therapeutic approach. Only two other cases of benign tumour of appendix forming fistula are reported in the literature.

Leiomyosarcoma of urinary bladder.

The authors report one case of a leiomyosarcoma of the urinary bladder in a seventy-two-year-old man. The treatment was transurethral resection. There has been no evidence of recurrence or metastasis in more than a two-year follow-up. The literature is reviewed and the size of the tumor on the prognosis is discussed.

Embryonal adenoma of the kidney.

We report on a 24-year-old woman with a clinically and histologically benign mixed epithelial-mesenchymal tumor of the kidney. Since the epithelial component was by far the most predominant, we found the term 'embryonal adenoma' suitable. To our knowledge this is the first case reported in the literature.

Gastric xanthoma.

Gastric xanthoma (GX) consists of a small yellowish lesion of the gastric mucosa, frequently of multiple occurrence; histologically, there is an accumulation of lipid-laden histiocytes in the lamina propria. Seven cases are reported. One patient also had jejunal localizations. There is no correlation with hypercholesterolemia but in four cases a slight hypertriglyceridemia was found. A control gastroscopy, performed in four cases, revealed no changes in the first patient but a decrease in size in a second and the disappearance of GX in two other patients.

[Osseous desmoid fibroma of the mandible. An unusual case in a 15-month-old infant]. / Fibrome desmoïde osseux du maxillaire inférieur. Cas exceptionnel d'un enfant de quinze mois

The authors present a rare case, unique in the literature, of an osseous desmoid fibroma in which the histological diagnosis was made at the age of fifteen months. The signs were of a slight swelling with complete trismus of the mandible. After excision of the tumour, with a resultant defect in the superior ramus of the mandible, the trismus disappeared spontaneously after two weeks.
