RESUMO

With the rising incidence of sickle cell disease, this chronic pathology is becoming the most common genetic disease in France. Advances in care have led to a marked improvement in life expectancy. Caregivers in pediatric facilities are therefore increasingly confronted with the question of the transition to adulthood of the adolescents they have been following since birth. As nurses working in Robert-Debré's transfusion and curative medicine unit, in 2022, adolescents accounted for 57 % of sickle cell patients enrolled in our transfusion exchange program. Adolescence is a period of major change, and the repercussions of the disease are all the more pronounced. This raises the issue of transferring them to the adult sector.

RESUMO

The Department of Hematology-Immunology, headed by Professor Jean-Hugues Dalle, is the leading department in France for the care of patients receiving pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplants. Since 2018, it has been a "major player" in the development of innovative treatments, such as gene therapy. To date, it is the only care service in France, which offers this treatment to stop the neurodegenerative progression of two genetic diseases, in collaboration with the neuropediatric service of the Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital headed by Prof Kumaran Deiva, in conjunction with the national reference center for rare disaeses didicated to leucodystrophies. It is a complex care that requires all the actors a cooperation (parents-children-caregivers).

RESUMO

The reception of learner-caregivers is a challenge for the care sectors in the context of clinical training, moreover in view of the current situation in connection with the health of our hospitals. Remember that internship periods represent 50 % of apprenticeship time in training institutes. So how does a Medical-University Department of Hematology and Immunology try to implement a policy of welcoming and supporting trainees, taking into account their level of training and promoting interest and emulation for future professionals health?

RESUMO

Three collaborative action-research projects have been carried out at the Institut de formation interhospitalier Théodore-Simon in Neuilly-sur-Marne (93) since the implementation of health simulation in nursing training. Their descriptions show the interest and the advantages of this pedagogical method and of the different "action pedagogies" which result from it for the nursing learners.
