RESUMO

Abductor vocal cord paralysis (AVCP) is a disabling disorder that affects the voice and the quality of life of a patient, and hence, there is importance in providing a detailed knowledge of its aetiology and management. In this review article, we offer an implicational definition of AVCP and a discussion of its background, viewed as potentially affecting voice production and health. Finally, we explore modalities of diagnosis by medical history and physical examination, visualization techniques like laryngoscopy and stroboscopy, and radiographic imaging such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. The article reviews and categorizes approaches into operative and non-operative treatments, including injection laryngoplasty, voice therapy, botulinum toxin injections, and the management of Reinke's edema. Surgical approaches, like arytenoid adduction, cordotomy, and posterior cordotomy, are also scrutinized taking their indication, efficacy, and complication profile into consideration. Learning about the advantages and drawbacks of the following experimental yet promising directions like nerve-muscle pedicle implantation, nerve reinnervation, and engineering of tissues is therefore highly necessitated. In conclusion, the review details the measures that have shown to be useful in the treatment process and their impact on the future practice of clinical work, calling for a more clarified structure of the organization of diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative activities. Future research directions are outlined based on the gaps which include the development of new treatment approaches, the evaluation of treatment for long-term effects, and the need for interdisciplinary cooperation in the medical field for the benefit of the patients.

Retinitis pigmentosa, or RP, is a group of inherited retinal degenerations involving progressive loss of photoreceptor cells- rods and cones- ultimately causing severe vision loss and blindness. RP, although a very common ailment, continues to be an incurable disease with little to be done medically. However, with the breakthroughs in gene therapy and stem cell transplantation in recent years, a new door has been opened to the treatment of RP. This narrative review summarizes the pathomolecular mechanisms of RP, focusing on the genetic and molecular abnormalities that lead to the process of retinal degeneration. In this section, we talk about the current theories of how RP develops, gene mutations, oxidative stress, and inflammation. We also delve into new therapeutic approaches such as gene therapy, stem cell transplantation and genome surgery, which are designed to either replace or repair the damaged photoreceptors to restore vision and ultimately enhance the life of the RP patient. Another topic covered is the obstacles and research frontiers of these revolutionary treatments. This article is intended to give a complete overview of the molecular processes of RP and the promising treatment strategies that could change the way this devastating disease is treated.

This review article examines the effectiveness of incorporating autologous endometrial cells and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) through hysteroscopic injections within the field of assisted reproductive technology (ART). This study assesses the outcomes of these injections on the susceptibility of the endometrium, the dynamics of the uterus, and the frequencies of pregnancy in individuals with refractory thin endometrium. Based on a complete examination of several trials, it becomes apparent that autologous PRP injections provide encouraging turnouts in augmenting endometrial thickness, raising endometrial receptivity, and, in the end, raising chances of being pregnant and successful delivery. The research highlights the promise of autologous PRP and minimally changed endometrial cellular treatments in enhancing outcomes in ART, especially for people who have had problems with implantation. This article gives a whole evaluation of the medical use of and upgrades regarding the utilization of infusions of PRP and autologous endometrial cells under hysteroscopic control to deal with infertility issues related to endometrial health through the synthesis of contemporary studies.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is among the new ground-breaking methods called for endometrial disorders detected in assisted reproductive technology (ART). This research work takes account of both a systematic literature review and an exploration of the molecular connections. The report aims to present the capabilities and benefits of the PRP in ART and the nonconformance and dangers involved in its use in ART. However, all these stages of ART need conducive endometrium, live micro embryo, and coordinated interaction between the blastocyst and the uterus. Despite all ART has achieved, implantation failure still exists as a problem having one quarter being attributed to the absence of the endometrial receptivity level. The review points to a corresponding increase in the role of autologous PRP in promoting cell proliferation, neo-angiogenesis, and anti-inflammatory effects to facilitate effective endometrial receptivity. The outcome of prior trials with the PRP approach proved to be positive for women with adenomyosis, thin endometrial lining, recurring implantation failure, chronic endometritis, and Asherman's syndrome. Challenges still exist in the proper placement of PRP for all women with infertility problems as well as how it works for individuals with blood disorders and infections. This study will look into the safest number of doses, the time of acting, and the possible future health hazards that both mother and child may face.
