RESUMO

Introduction: Despite being aware of the importance of nurses' role in providing clinical training to nursing students, studies show that sufficient research has not yet been conducted on the experience of clinical nurses who are engaged in training nursing students outside their normal working hours. The present study aim to describe the experience of these nurses who are training outside their routine working hours. Methods: This study was conducted using descriptive-phenomenology method. Twelve nurses was participated in this research. Data were collected using purposive sampling method and face to face interviews based on nurses' real life experience of students' learning in clinical settings through answering open-ended questions. Spiegel burg analysis method was used to analyze the data. Results: The result of data analysis was the derivation of four themes and eight sub-themes. Themes included "nurses as teaching sources", "changes in the balance of doing routine tasks", "professional enthusiasm", and "nurses as students' professional socialization source of inspiration". Sub-themes included "efficient education", "poor education", "support", "interference in the role," "self-efficacy development", "inner satisfaction", "positive imaging" and "being a model". Conclusion: It is necessary that academic centers plan for teaching nurses working on a contractual basis in the field of the evaluation method and various methods of teaching. The findings also suggested the development of individual self-efficacy in clinical nurses who train students.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: One of the most common complications of IUD users is bleeding and dysmenorrhea. These complications vary in the different types of IUDs. The aim of this study was to compare the bleeding and dysmenorrhea in ML CU 375 IUD and Copper T 380A IUD. METHODS: This randomized double-blind controlled clinical trial was performed on 48 women in a health care centres from January to October 2012, in Tabriz, Iran. Participants allocated into two equal groups of receiving IUD ML CU 375 or receiving IUD Copper T 380A in randomized blocking method. Data were collected by demographic questionnaire and Higham chart and Visual Analog Scale 1 month before IUD insertion and 4 months after IUD insertion. Analysis of covariance, ANOVA with repeated measures, Friedman, Ordinal regression and SPSS Ver. 13 were used to analysis the data. RESULTS: The results showed that the mean score of bleeding in the first four months after IUD insertion in IUD ML CU 375 users was significantly lower than IUD Copper T 380A group. In the third and fourth months in both groups showed severity of dysmenorrhea in group IUD ML CU 375 was lower than IUD Copper T 380A. The results showed that the duration of dysmenorrhea in the first four months after IUD insertion in IUD ML CU 375 group was significantly lower than IUD Copper T 380A group. CONCLUSION: Counseling and educating women by family planning service providers about both Copper T 380A and ML CU 375 IUDs before taking IUD is recommended.

RESUMO

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is considered as one of the leading causes of maternal mortality during pregnancy and postpartum period. In this retrospective study the medical records of 81 women diagnosed with Pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) and Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) between 2009 and 2012 in Tabriz Al-Zahra hospital was participated. These cases were evaluated regarding frequency, maternal and fetus risk factors associated with VTE. During 3 years 33 patients were diagnosed as PTE; 7 women were diagnosed as DVT and PTE; and 41 women were diagnosed as DVT. Most frequent underlying disease was hypertension (13.5%) and most frequent symptoms of PTE and DVT were dyspnea (100%) and swelling of lower limb (100%) respectively. 93% of PTE and 79% of DVT incidences occurred during and after the third trimester of pregnancy. Additionally, 38% of PTE occurred during or after childbirth (33% following cesarean and 5% following vaginal delivery). Therefore, it seems that vaginal delivery is safer than cesarean surgery. In addition, the importance of third trimester of pregnancy and postpartum period is obvious.

RESUMO

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of six-and ten-day-old chick embryo amniotic fluid (CEAF) on the development of two-cell mouse embryos. Six- and ten-day-old CEAF (6-AF, 10-AF) were aspirated separately from the amniotic cavity and two experiments were performed. In the first experiment, two-cell mouse embryos were cultured in different supplements of heat-inactivated 6-AF, pure heat-inactivated 6-AF and pure active 6-AF. The second experiment was also carried out in the same manner using the 10-AF. The rate of the development of embryos in all groups were daily determined and statistically compared with that of control (Ham's F-10 supplemented with 5 mg/ml human serum albumin). During the cultivation period, more embryos reached to the blastocyst stage in all groups of CEAF compared to the control. The result hatched blastocysts embryos also increased from days 3 till 5 of cultivation in all groups of CEAF. The developmental potential of embryos appears to be almost identical in six- and ten-day-old CEAF. In conclusion, CEAF as a supplement or a natural medium could support the development of two-cell mouse embryos.
