RESUMO

Atrial myxomas are typically found in the left atrium and are the most common among overall rare cardiac tumors. Herein, we describe the clinical course of a 72-year-old female with non-small cell lung adenocarcinoma found to have an atrial mass during an imaging for evaluation for lung cancer progression. Differentiating between distinct types of masses can pose a challenge to the treatment team especially in the setting of exiting malignancy. This case demonstrates the complex decision making involved in the diagnosis, and timing of intervention to remove atrial mass in patients with frailty and a fast-growing cardiac mass.

PURPOSE: This study retrospectively reviewed the outcomes of patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) receiving atezolizumab with bevacizumab (A + B) therapy at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). PATIENTS AND METHODS: Patients with advanced HCC who received first-line systemic therapy with A + B at the VHA between December 1, 2019, and March 1, 2022, were selected from electronic medical records (EMR) using ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes. Abstractors reviewed the EMR of the patients from their index date of A + B initiation until death or their last VHA visit, with the study period ending on January 31, 2023. The chi-square test was used to compare rates, and the Mann-Whitney test was used to compare medians. RESULTS: A total of 332 patients met the study criteria. The median age was 67 years; 99% were male, 63% were non-Hispanic Whites, 26% were Black, and 66% had an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status of ≥1. 84% had child Pugh score (CPS) class A, 16% had CPS classes B and C, 62% had a grade 2 albumin-bilirubin score, 56% had HCC caused by viral hepatitis, 80% had cirrhosis, and 67% had received prior local therapies. The 6-month progression-free survival (PFS) was 59%, while the 1-year PFS rate was 36%. Overall survival (OS) at 1-year was 52% in our study. CONCLUSION: In real world, despite having similar PFS as the phase III IMbrave 150 trial, our OS at 12 months was lower (52% vs. 67%) because our study included a higher proportion of elderly patients with moderate liver dysfunction and a 40% non-White. This study provided real-world outcomes that differed from the study population in a pivotal trial.

No prospective data were available prior to 2021 to inform selection between combination BRAF and MEK inhibition versus dual blockade of programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) and cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4) as first-line treatment options for BRAFV600-mutant melanoma. SECOMBIT (NCT02631447) was a randomized, three-arm, noncomparative phase II trial in which patients were randomized to one of two sequences with immunotherapy or targeted therapy first, with a third arm in which an 8-week induction course of targeted therapy followed by a planned switch to immunotherapy was the first treatment. BRAF/MEK inhibitors were encorafenib plus binimetinib and checkpoint inhibitors ipilimumab plus nivolumab. Primary outcome of overall survival was previously reported, demonstrating improved survival with immunotherapy administered until progression and followed by BRAF/MEK inhibition. Here we report 4-year survival outcomes, confirming long-term benefit with first-line immunotherapy. We also describe preliminary results of predefined biomarkers analyses that identify a trend toward improved 4-year overall survival and total progression-free survival in patients with loss-of-function mutations affecting JAK or low baseline levels of serum interferon gamma (IFNy). These long-term survival outcomes confirm immunotherapy as the preferred first-line treatment approach for most patients with BRAFV600-mutant metastatic melanoma, and the biomarker analyses are hypothesis-generating for future investigations of predictors of durable benefit with dual checkpoint blockade and targeted therapy.

AIMS: Hyperkalemia often occurs among heart failure (HF) patients, particularly when treated with renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitors (RAASi). Even modest potassium levels variations raise the risk of mortality and prompt patients to discontinue disease-modifying treatment, as RAASi. Novel potassium binders (NPB), patiromer and sodium zirconium cyclosilicate, are effective in reducing potassium levels and are approved for the treatment of hyperkalemia in HF, but whether their use results in a real optimization of HF treatment remains to be seen. The aim of the present meta-analysis was to assess the efficacy of NPB on the optimization of RAASi therapy in HF patients. METHODS AND RESULTS: PubMed, Web of Science and Clinicaltrial.gov were searched without restrictions from inception to 06 August 2022 to identify valuable articles. The studies that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. The prespecified primary outcome was the optimization of RAASi therapy in HF patients, defined as the proportion of patients on RAASi at the end of follow-up. Secondary outcomes were hyperkalemia events, reduction in potassium levels, and adverse drugs reactions. Six studies with a total of 1390 patients were included. NPB improved RAASi therapy optimization in HF by 14% (95% CI: 4-26%), decreased hyperkalemia events by 29% (95% CI: 55-92%), and reduced potassium levels by 0.31 mEq/L (95% CI: 0.18-0.44) compared to placebo, maintaining a good safety profile. CONCLUSION: NPB are effective in allowing RAASi therapy optimization in patients affected by HF, in reducing hyperkalemia events and potassium levels. Introduction: Introduction: ferric carboxymaltose (CF) is an intravenous preparation that helps the rapid correction of anemia with a lower risk of adverse reactions. However, an association has been found between the administration of CF and the development of hypophosphatemia. Case report: we present the clinical case of a 57-year-old patient with a history of iron de-ficiency anemia who, after receiving treatment with CF (Ferinjet®) chronically, develops a clinical of severe muscle weakness. Laboratory tests showed hypophosphatemia, normocalcemia, normal vitamin D level (after correction) and increased renal excretion of phosphorus. After study, the diagnosis of chronic hypophosphatemia secondary to the use of CF is reached. Discussion: CF can cause an increase in FGF-23 which acts at the renal level inducing phosphaturia, which can generate severe hypophosphatemia. This case demonstrates the importance of recognizing and treating this clinical entity in time.


Introducción: Introducción: la carboximaltosa férrica (CF) es una preparación intravenosa que ayuda a la corrección rápida de anemia con menor riesgo de reacciones adversas. Sin embargo, se ha encontrado asociación entre la administración de la CF y el desarrollo de hipofosfatemia. Caso clínico: presentamos el caso clínico de una paciente de 57 años con anemia ferropénica que tras recibir tratamiento con CF (Ferinjet®) de forma crónica, desarrolla un cuadro clínico de debilidad muscular severa. En la analítica se aprecia hipofosfatemia, normocalcemia, nivel de vitamina D normal (tras corrección) y aumento de excreción renal de fósforo. Tras estudio se llega al diagnóstico de hipofosfatemia crónica secundaria al uso de la CF. Discusión: la CF puede provocar un aumento de FGF-23 el cual actúa a nivel renal induciendo fosfaturia, pudiendo generar hipofosfatemia grave. Este caso demuestra la importancia de reconocer y tratar esta entidad clínica a tiempo.

Carcinoid syndrome (CS) is a unique constellation of symptoms caused by release of vasoactive substances from neuroendocrine tumors (Pandit et al., StatPearls, 2022). Neuroendocrine tumors are rare with an annual incidence of 2 in 100,000 people (Ram et al., 46:21-27, 2019). Up to 50% of patients with these tumors will develop carcinoid syndrome, which is characterized by symptoms caused by elevated levels of serotonin and most commonly include fatigue, flushing, wheezing, and non-specific gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea and malabsorption (Pandit et al., StatPearls, 2022) (Fox et.al., 90:1224-1228, 2004). Over time, patients with carcinoid syndrome can develop carcinoid heart disease (CHD). CHD refers to the cardiac complications that occur when the vasoactive substances, such as serotonin, tachykinins, and prostaglandins, secreted from the carcinoid tumors. These complications most commonly include valvular abnormalities, but can also present as coronary artery damage, arrhythmias or direct myocardial injury (Ram et al., 46:21-27, 2019). While CHD is not typically an initial feature of carcinoid syndrome, it does eventually occur in up to 70% of patients with carcinoid tumors (Ram et al., 46:21-27, 2019) (Jin et.al., 146:65-73, 2021) (Macfie et.al., 224:665-669, 2022). CHD is associated with significant morbidity and mortality due to the risk of progressive heart failure (Bober et.al., 14:1179546820968101, 2020). In this case, we describe a 35-year-old Hispanic woman in South Texas with undiagnosed carcinoid syndrome for over 10 years that eventually progressed to severe CHD. In this patient's case, we emphasize how lack of access to healthcare resulted in delay of diagnosis, appropriate treatment, and worsened prognosis in this young patient.

BACKGROUND: In patients affected by heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), pharmacological treatments have been proven to alleviate symptoms and improve prognosis, while no treatment other than sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 inhibitors have demonstrated significant effects in HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Left atrium decompression devices (LADd) have been recently investigated as a new interventional approach in patients with HFpEF. OBJECTIVES: To assess the efficacy of LADd on soft endpoints in HF patients across the spectrum of ejection fraction. METHODS: PubMed and Web of Science were searched without restrictions from inception to 28 May 2022 to identify valuable articles. The studies that met the inclusion criteria were analyzed. The prespecified main outcomes were the change from baseline in 6-min walking distance (6MWD), NYHA class and health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Secondary outcomes were reduction in HF hospitalizations, echocardiographic, and hemodynamic parameters. RESULTS: Eleven studies, with a total of 547 patients, were included. LADd significantly improved 6MWD by 43.95 m (95% CI 29.64-58.26 m), decreased NYHA class by 0.93 (95% CI 1.20-0.67), and improved HRQoL questionnaire by 20.45 points (95% CI 13.77-27.14) with better results for all outcomes in patients with lower EFs. CONCLUSION: The present meta-analysis suggests that LADd are favorable in improving 6MWD, NYHA class, and HRQoL in HF across a wide spectrum of ejection fraction, with better outcomes in patients with lower EFs. BACKGROUND: Skin metastases are an important co-morbidity in melanoma. Despite broad adoption, electrochemotherapy implementation is hindered by a lack of treatment indications, uncertainty regarding procedural aspects, and the absence of quality indicators. An expert consensus may harmonize the approach among centres and facilitate comparison with other therapies. METHODS: An interdisciplinary panel was recruited for a three-round e-Delphi survey. A literature-based 113-item questionnaire was proposed to 160 professionals from 53 European centres. Participants rated each item for relevance and degree of agreement on a five-point Likert scale, and received anonymous controlled feedback to allow revision. The items that reached concordant agreement in two successive iterations were included in the final consensus list. In the third round, quality indicator benchmarks were defined using a real-time Delphi method. RESULTS: The initial working group included 122 respondents, of whom 100 (82 per cent) completed the first round, thus qualifying for inclusion in the expert panel (49 surgeons, 29 dermatologists, 15 medical oncologists, three radiotherapists, two nurse specialists, two clinician scientists). The completion rate was 97 per cent (97 of 100) and 93 per cent (90 of 97) in the second and third rounds respectively. The final consensus list included 54 statements with benchmarks (treatment indications, (37); procedural aspects, (1); quality indicators, (16)). CONCLUSION: An expert panel achieved consensus on the use of electrochemotherapy in melanoma, with a core set of statements providing general direction to electrochemotherapy users to refine indications, align clinical practices, and promote quality assurance programmes and local audits. The residual controversial topics set future research priorities to improve patient care.


Electrochemotherapy is an effective locoregional therapy for skin metastases from melanoma, a problem faced by almost half of patients with metastatic disease. The lack of comparative studies and the heterogeneity of its clinical application among centres make it challenging to support consistent, evidence-based recommendations. To address this unmet need, a three-round online survey was conducted to establish a consensus on treatment indications, standard operating procedures, and quality indicators. In the survey, a panel of 100 European melanoma experts agreed on 56 statements that can be used to improve patient selection, homogenize treatment application, and monitor outcomes.

PURPOSE: Limited prospective data are available on sequential immunotherapy and BRAF/MEK inhibition for BRAFV600-mutant metastatic melanoma. METHODS: SECOMBIT is a randomized, three-arm, noncomparative phase II trial (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT02631447). Patients with untreated, metastatic BRAFV600-mutant melanoma from 37 sites in nine countries were randomly assigned to arm A (encorafenib [450 mg orally once daily] plus binimetinib [45 mg orally twice daily] until progressive disease [PD] -> ipilimumab plus nivolumab [ipilimumab 3 mg/kg once every 3 weeks and nivolumab 1 mg/kg once every 3 weeks × four cycles -> nivolumab 3 mg/kg every 2 weeks]), arm B [ipilimumab plus nivolumab until PD -> encorafenib plus binimetinib], or arm C (encorafenib plus binimetinib for 8 weeks -> ipilimumab plus nivolumab until PD -> encorafenib plus binimetinib). The primary end point was overall survival (OS) at 2 years. Secondary end points included total progression-free survival, 3-year OS, best overall response rate, duration of response, and biomarkers in the intent-to-treat population. Safety was analyzed throughout sequential treatment in all participants who received at least one dose of study medication. RESULTS: A total of 209 patients were randomly assigned (69 in arm A, 71 in arm B, and 69 in arm C). At a median follow-up of 32.2 (interquartile range, 27.9-41.6) months, median OS was not reached in any arm and more than 30 patients were alive in all arms. Assuming a null hypothesis of median OS of ≤ 15 months, the OS end point was met for all arms. The 2-year and 3-year OS rates were 65% (95% CI, 54 to 76) and 54% (95% CI, 41 to 67) in arm A, 73% (95% CI, 62 to 84) and 62% (95% CI, 48 to 76) in arm B, and 69% (95% CI, 59 to 80) and 60% (95% CI, 58 to 72) in arm C. No new safety signals emerged. CONCLUSION: Sequential immunotherapy and targeted therapy provide clinically meaningful survival benefits for patients with BRAFV600-mutant melanoma.

INTRODUCTION: ß-pancreatic cells are susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 infection and replication; this could lead to infection-related diabetes or precipitate the onset of type 1 diabetes. This study aimed to determine the severity at diagnosis, analyzing clinical and epidemiological features at debut in children under 16 years of age in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A retrospective observational multicenter study was carried out in 7 hospitals of the public health network located in the south of our community. The severity at debut is compared with that of the two previous years (2018 and 2019). The level of statistical significance is set at p<0.05. RESULTS: In 2020, 61 patients debuted at the 7 hospital centres. The mean age was 10.1 years (SD: 2.6), 50.8% older than 10 years. The clinical profile at diagnosis was ketoacidosis in 52.5% compared to 39.5% and 26.5% in the previous two years (p<0.01). The mean pH (7.24 vs 7.30/7.30) and excess of bases (-11.9 vs -7.43/-7.9) was lower than in the previous two years, and the glycated haemoglobin higher (11.9 vs 11/10.6), p<0.05. At least 10% of the patients had a positive history of SARS-CoV-2 infection. CONCLUSIONS: There has been an increase in the frequency of diabetic ketoacidosis in type 1 diabetes onset during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rocky Mountain spotted fever (RMSF) is a potentially fatal tickborne disease caused by the bacterium, Rickettsia rickettsii and transmitted primarily by the brown dog tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) in the southwestern United States and Mexico. RMSF can be rapidly fatal if not treated early with doxycycline, making healthcare worker awareness and education critical to reduce morbidity and mortality. During 2008-2019, Mexicali experienced a RMSF epidemic with 779 confirmed cases, and an 11-year case-fatality rate of 18% (N = 140). A cross-sectional study was conducted with 290 physicians and physicians-in-training across 12 medical facilities in Mexicali. They were asked to complete a 23-item questionnaire to assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices for clinical, epidemiologic, and preventive aspects of RMSF. Half of participants were female, the largest age group was aged 25 to 44 (47%), and median time in practice was 6 years (interquartile rate: 1-21.5). Less than half (48%) surveyed were confident where diagnostic testing could be performed, and two-thirds did not regularly order serology (67%) or molecular diagnostic (66%) tests for RMSF when a patient presented with fever. Sixty-four percent knew doxycycline as first-line treatment of children < 8 years with suspected RMSF. When comparing healthcare workers with < 6 years of experience to those with ≥ 6 years, more experience was associated with greater confidence in where to have diagnostic testing performed (prevalence odds ratio [prevalence odds ratios [pOR]] = 2.3; P = 0.004), and frequency of ordering laboratory tests (serology, pOR = 3.3; P = 0.002; polymerase chain reaction, pOR = 3.9; P = 0.001). Continued education, including information on diagnostic testing is key to reducing morbidity and mortality from RMSF.

Introducción: la selección de pareja es un proceso complejo donde se involucran factores biológicos, psicológicos, personales, sociales y emocionales. Objetivo: determinar los criterios para la selección de pareja según el tiempo de relación en los padres de estudiantes de la Unidad Educativa Vigotsky en la ciudad de Riobamba. Metodología: se hizo un estudio con enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo observacional descriptivo. La población estuvo integrada por padres de familia mayores de 20 años, cuyos hijos estudiaban en la institución mencionada, a partir de cual se seleccionó una muestra de 170 individuos mediante la técnica del tipo bola de nieve. los datos se recolectaron mediante la Escala de Selección de Pareja de Romero. Resultados: según los involucrados, los criterios más relevantes para la selección de pareja fueron los rasgos de personalidad (61,8%) y satisfacción de necesidades (65,3%); mientras que, los menos considerados fueron el atractivo (80,0%) y la similitud de intereses personales (48,2%). Conclusiones: la comparación del nivel de importancia de los criterios de selección de pareja según al tiempo de relación posibilitó determinar que el nivel bajo predominó en los aspectos no verbales en aquellas con menos de 10 años de unión. Además, el tiempo de relación se asoció significativa-mente con las dimensiones: aspectos no verbales, rasgos de personalidad y satisfacción de necesidades


Introduction: mate selection is a complex process involving biological, psychological, personal, social and emotional factors. Objective: to determine the criteria for mate selection according to the relationship time in the parents of students of the Vigotsky Educational Unit in the city of Riobamba. Methodology: a study was carried out with a quantitative approach, of a descriptive observational type. The population was made up of parents over 20 years of age, whose children studied at the aforementioned institution. A sample of 170 individuals was selected using the snowball-type technique. Data were collected using the Romero Mate Selection Scale. Results: The most relevant criteria for partner selection were personality traits (61.8%) and satisfaction of needs (65.3%. On the other hand, attractiveness (80.0%) and the similarity of personal interests (48.2%) were the least considered. Conclusions: It was determined that the low level prevailed in the non-verbal aspects in those ones with less than 10 years of union based on the comparison of the level of importance of the mate selection criteria according to the time of the relationship. In addition, the relationship time was significantly associated with the dimensions: non-verbal aspects, personality traits and needs satisfaction.

Immunotherapy and target therapy have revolutionized treatment of stage III/IV melanoma. Both treatments show a favorable toxicity profile even if cutaneous adverse events (AEs) are frequent (30%-40% of cases). This is a retrospective single center cohort study that included patients with stage IV or inoperable stage III metastatic melanoma (AJCC 8th) who received BRAFi + MEKi therapy or immunotherapy with Checkpoint inhibitors. All cutaneous AEs were ascertained by a dermatologist based on clinical and histological findings. The primary outcome was to provide a detailed clinical dermatological classification of cutaneous adverse events and an evaluation of the incidence of skin toxicity in the two arms of therapy (immunotherapy and target therapy). A total of 286 patients with stages III-IV metastatic melanoma were included: 146 received immunotherapy and 140 target therapy. In the immunotherapy cohort, 63 (43.1%) cutaneous reactions were observed while 33 skin reactions (23.6%) were identified in patients treated with target therapy. All the skin toxicities observed were grade I, excepted four cases: an erythema multiforme-like eruption, a grade III psoriasis and two grade III maculopapular rashes. Immunotherapy in older age resulted statistically related to skin toxicities (p = 0.011), meanly in metastatic setting (p = 0.011). Cumulative incidence of skin toxicities was 65.63% in immunotherapy cohort (p = 0.001). Also multivariate logistic regression shows a significant association between skin adverse events and immunotherapy (odds ratio [OR] = 0.50; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.29-0.85, p: 0.01) and between cutaneous AEs and metastatic setting (OR = 1.97; 95% CI: 1.04-3.74, p: 0.04). We have also shown that as the age of initiation of therapy increases the probability of developing skin toxicity grows. However, stratifying by type of therapies the effect of age persists only in immunotherapy (OD: 1.04; CI: 1.01-1.06; p: 0.04) while for target therapy age does not affect the onset of skin toxicity (OD 1.01; CI 0.98-1.04; p = 0.42). No differences were shown between patients on target therapy and immunotherapy regarding gender. Patients were also evaluated regarding concomitant therapies and seems that Levotyroxine may be involved in AEs during immunotherapy treatment. More studies are needed to deepen this aspect, also considering the medical history and diverse drug associations. Cutaneous adverse events are characterized by heterogeneous manifestations, are more often seen in patients on immunotherapy and dermatologists can play a crucial role in multidisciplinary care.

BACKGROUND: Reports on the expression of CD38 in Sézary syndrome (SS), erythrodermic primary cutaneous T cell lymphoma with leukemic involvement, are limited. The aim of the present study is the analysis of the expression of CD38 by skin-infiltrating mononuclear cells and circulating T lymphocytes in a cohort of SS patients. METHODS: SS patients diagnosed since 1985 in our clinic were retrospectively analyzed for CD38 expression in biopsy and blood samples by immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry, respectively. RESULTS: SS patients show a predominant CD38-negative phenotype on both skin and blood. A subgroup of patients was found expressing CD38 (12 cases) in either the skin (>25% cell infiltrate) or blood (CD4+CD38+ >50%), among whom 4 in the blood, 7 in the skin, and 1 in both blood and skin. CONCLUSION: The implications of these observations may be twofold: the relevance in basic science is related to a potential role in immune defense regulation, whilst in perspective CD38 may become a target for antibody therapy, considering the availability of different anti-CD38 monoclonal antibodies.

Introduction: ß-pancreatic cells are susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 infection and replication; this could lead to infection-related diabetes or precipitate the onset of type 1 diabetes. This study aimed to determine the severity at diagnosis, analyzing clinical and epidemiological features at onset in children under 16 years of age in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Material and methods: A retrospective observational multicenter study was carried out in 7 hospitals of the public health network located in the south of our community. The severity at debut is compared with that of the two previous years (2018 and 2019). The level of statistical significance is set at P < .05. Results: In 2020, 61 patients were diagnosed at the 7 hospital centres. The mean age was 10.1 years (SD: 2.6), 50.8% were older than 10 years. The clinical profile at diagnosis was ketoacidosis in 52.5% compared to 39.5% and 26.5% in the previous two years (P < .01). The mean pH (7.24 vs 7.30 / 7.30) and excess of bases (-11.9 vs -7.43 / -7.9) was lower than in the previous two years, and the glycated haemoglobin higher (11.9 vs 11 / 10.6)%, p < 0.05. At least 10% of the patients had a positive history of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Conclusions: There has been an increase in the frequency of diabetic ketoacidosis in type 1 diabetes onset during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sézary syndrome is a rare subtype of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma characterized by erythroderma, peripheral lymphadenopathies, and circulating atypical cerebriform T-cells. To date, no definite staging system has been developed for these patients. In this retrospective analysis of the archive of the Dermatological Clinic of the University of Turin, Italy, erythrodermic SS patients were classified according to clinical records and photographs into three main presentations: erythematous, infiltrated, or melanodermic. The pattern of erythroderma was found to be associated with disease outcome, as better survivals were recorded in patients with erythematous and infiltrative erythroderma. Patients in the melanodermic group, though less represented in our investigation, seemed to show a worse trend in survival. According to this preliminary evidence, a new prognostic classification, with a revised score specific for Sézary syndrome patients, can be proposed to usefully integrate the current staging system. The correlation displayed in our research will be hopefully confirmed by prospective studies with larger cohorts, with the aim of identifying significant prognostic features in this subset of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma patients.

RESUMO

The monoclonal anti-IL6 receptor antibody called Tocilizumab is widely used by rheumatologists for joint diseases. Its application in dermatology has mainly concerned scleroderma and Systemic Sclerosis in the last years. The most varied skin diseases treated with tocilizumab, such as psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, Behcet's Syndrome, Lupus, and the already mentioned scleroderma up to multi-organ syndromes with skin involvement will be discussed. At the same time, there have been several side reactions to the drug involving the skin forcing careful skin monitoring during treatment. Despite the evidence currently available in the appropriate literature, there is no formal recommendation for any of these diseases to use Tocilizumab for therapeutic purposes. The aim of this review was to collect all the main evidence on the use and involvement of the drug in dermatological practice in order to stimulate further research or hypothesize on possible therapeutic options.
