In recent years, climate change has increasingly become one of the major challenges facing mankind today, seriously threatening the survival and sustainable development of mankind. Dramatically increasing carbon dioxide concentrations are thought to cause a severe greenhouse effect, leading to severe and sustained global warming, associated climate instability and unwelcome natural disasters, melting glaciers and extreme weather patterns. The treatment of flue gas from thermal power plants uses carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technology, one of the most promising current methods to accomplish significant CO2 emission reduction. In order to implement the technological and financial system of CO2 capture, which is the key technology of CCUS technology and accounts for 70-80% of the overall cost of CCUS technology, it is crucial to create more effective adsorbents. Nowadays, with the development and application of various carbon dioxide capture materials, it is necessary to review and summarize carbon dioxide capture materials in time. In this paper, the main technologies of CO2 capture are reviewed, with emphasis on the latest research status of CO2 capture materials, such as amines, zeolites, alkali metals, as well as emerging MOFs and carbon nanomaterials. More and more research on CO2 capture materials has used a variety of improved methods, which have achieved high CO2 capture performance. For example, doping of layered double hydroxides (LDH) with metal atoms significantly increases the active site on the surface of the material, which has a significant impact on improving the CO2 capture capacity and performance stability of LDH. Although many carbon capture materials have been developed, high cost and low technology scale remain major obstacles to CO2 capture. Future research should focus on designing low-cost, high-availability carbon capture materials.

Biallelic pathogenic variants in the PNPLA6 gene cause a broad spectrum of disorders leading to gait disturbance, visual impairment, anterior hypopituitarism and hair anomalies. PNPLA6 encodes neuropathy target esterase (NTE), yet the role of NTE dysfunction on affected tissues in the large spectrum of associated disease remains unclear. We present a systematic evidence-based review of a novel cohort of 23 new patients along with 95 reported individuals with PNPLA6 variants that implicate missense variants as a driver of disease pathogenesis. Measuring esterase activity of 46 disease-associated and 20 common variants observed across PNPLA6-associated clinical diagnoses unambiguously reclassified 36 variants as pathogenic and 10 variants as likely pathogenic, establishing a robust functional assay for classifying PNPLA6 variants of unknown significance. Estimating the overall NTE activity of affected individuals revealed a striking inverse relationship between NTE activity and the presence of retinopathy and endocrinopathy. This phenomenon was recaptured in vivo in an allelic mouse series, where a similar NTE threshold for retinopathy exists. Thus, PNPLA6 disorders, previously considered allelic, are a continuous spectrum of pleiotropic phenotypes defined by an NTE genotype:activity:phenotype relationship. This relationship, and the generation of a preclinical animal model, pave the way for therapeutic trials, using NTE as a biomarker.

Atmospheric rivers (ARs) are narrow, elongated, synoptic jets of water vapor that play important roles in the global water cycle. The continually developing Tracking Atmospheric Rivers Globally as Elongated Targets (tARget) algorithm identifies AR objects at individual time steps based on thresholding integrated water vapor transport (IVT) and other requirements, and tracks each AR object in time and space. Building on previous versions of tARget, this paper discusses further refinements to the algorithm to better handle ARs in tropical and polar areas, as well as "zonal" ARs which the previous versions of the algorithm were not designed to capture. This further regionally refined algorithm is applied to the ERA5 reanalysis over 1940-2023 at 6 h intervals and a 0.25° × 0.25° horizontal resolution. The AR detection results are evaluated in terms of key AR characteristics. We anticipate this regionally refined global AR database will aid further understanding of ARs such as AR process studies, evaluation of AR simulations and predictions, and assessment of climate change impacts on ARs.

Comparative nutritional analysis of Porphyra yezoensis strains "Jianghai No. 1" and "Sutong No.1" revealed significant differences in crude protein, crude fat, crude fiber, crude ash, and total sugar. Both strains contained 16 amino acids, with alanine as the highest and histidine the lowest content. Methionine was determined to be the first limiting amino acid for both strains in both amino acid score and chemical score assessment. They also featured 24 fatty acids, differing notably in four saturated fatty acids and five unsaturated fatty acids. All 12 mineral elements were present, notably differing in sodium, magnesium, potassium, calcium, iron, and zinc. The "Jianghai No. 1" strain stands out with its nutrient-rich profile, featuring high protein content, low fat, and abundant minerals, which could potentially command higher market prices and generate greater economic benefits due to its superior nutritional, and set a strong foundation for its future large-scale promotion and cultivation.

Nanozymes, as a type of nanomaterials with enzymatic catalytic activity, have demonstrated tremendous potential in cancer treatment owing to their unique biomedical properties. However, the heterogeneity of tumors and the complex tumor microenvironment pose significant challenges to the in vivo catalytic efficacy of traditional nanozymes. Drawing inspiration from natural enzymes, scientists are now using biomimetic design to build nanozymes from the ground up. This approach aims to replicate the key characteristics of natural enzymes, including active structures, catalytic processes, and the ability to adapt to the tumor environment. This achieves selective optimization of nanozyme catalytic performance and therapeutic effects. This review takes a deep dive into the use of these biomimetically designed nanozymes in cancer treatment. It explores a range of biomimetic design strategies, from structural and process mimicry to advanced functional biomimicry. A significant focus is on tweaking the nanozyme structures to boost their catalytic performance, integrating them into complex enzyme networks similar to those in biological systems, and adjusting functions like altering tumor metabolism, reshaping the tumor environment, and enhancing drug delivery. The review also covers the applications of specially designed nanozymes in pan-cancer treatment, from catalytic therapy to improved traditional methods like chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and sonodynamic therapy, specifically analyzing the anti-tumor mechanisms of different therapeutic combination systems. Through rational design, these biomimetically designed nanozymes not only deepen the understanding of the regulatory mechanisms of nanozyme structure and performance but also adapt profoundly to tumor physiology, optimizing therapeutic effects and paving new pathways for innovative cancer treatment.

Our previous study showed that pyridoxine 5'-phosphate oxidase (PNPO) is a tissue biomarker of ovarian cancer (OC) and has a prognostic implication but detailed mechanisms remain unclear. The current study focused on PNPO-regulated lysosome/autophagy-mediated cellular processes and the potential role of PNPO in chemoresistance. We found that PNPO was overexpressed in OC cells and was a prognostic factor in OC patients. PNPO significantly promoted cell proliferation via the regulation of cyclin B1 and phosphorylated CDK1 and shortened the G2M phase in a cell cycle. Overexpressed PNPO enhanced the biogenesis and perinuclear distribution of lysosomes, promoting the degradation of autophagosomes and boosting the autophagic flux. Further, an autolysosome marker LAMP2 was upregulated in OC cells. Silencing LAMP2 suppressed cell growth and induced cell apoptosis. LAMP2-siRNA blocked PNPO action in OC cells, indicating that the function of PNPO on cellular processes was mediated by LAMP2. These data suggest the existence of the PNPO-LAMP2 axis. Moreover, silencing PNPO suppressed xenographic tumor formation. Chloroquine counteracted the promotion effect of PNPO on autophagic flux and inhibited OC cell survival, facilitating the inhibitory effect of PNPO-shRNA on tumor growth in vivo. Finally, PNPO was overexpressed in paclitaxel-resistant OC cells. PNPO-siRNA enhanced paclitaxel sensitivity in vitro and in vivo. In conclusion, PNPO has a regulatory effect on lysosomal biogenesis that in turn promotes autophagic flux, leading to OC cell proliferation, and tumor formation, and is a paclitaxel-resistant factor. These data imply a potential application by targeting PNPO to suppress tumor growth and reverse PTX resistance in OC.

Natural bioactive compounds and plant constituents are considered to have a positive anti-inflammatory effect. This study aimed to establish a screening technique for anti-inflammatory function in foods based on label-free Raman imaging. A visible anti-inflammatory analysis method based on coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) was established with an LPS-induced RAW264.7 cell model. Dynamic changes in proteins and lipids were determined at laser pump light wavelengths of 2956 cm-1 and 2856 cm-1, respectively. The method was applied to a plant-based formula (JC) with anti-inflammatory activity. Q-TOF-MS and HPLC analyses revealed the main active constituents of JC as quercetin, kaempferol, l-glutamine, and sodium copper chlorophyllin. In in vitro and in vivo verification experiments, JC showed significant anti-inflammatory activity by regulating the TLR4/NF-κB pathway. In conclusion, this study successfully established a label-free and visible method for screening anti-inflammatory constituents in plant-based food products, which will facilitate the evaluation of functional foods.

OBJECTIVE: Cervical cancer (CC) is one of the most common gynecologic malignancies worldwide. Although rapid improvements have been made regarding its prevention and treatment, little is known about disease pathogenesis and the clinical relevance of reliable biomarkers. The present study evaluated the expression of cystatin B (CSTB) as a potential biomarker of CC. METHODS: Tissue microarray analysis and immunohistochemical staining were performed to detect CSTB expression, while CSTB mRNA and protein expression levels of freshly isolated CC tissue were measured by quantitative real-time PCR and western blot, respectively. Bioinformatics were used to analyze the CSTB co-expression network and functional enrichments. RESULTS: We observed high CSTB mRNA and protein expression levels in CC tissues, which was confirmed by tissue microarray in a comparison with paired adjacent non-cancerous cervical tissue samples. CSTB gene enrichments and associations with co-expressed genes were also observed. Further analysis showed that elevated CSTB expression was associated with pathological progress in CC. CONCLUSION: Our data demonstrate that CSTB has the potential to be used as a tissue biomarker with clinical value in patients with CC, which may aid the development of intervention strategies.

Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) have gained significant attention in recent years due to their crucial roles in various biological processes. However, our understanding of the expression and functions of ncRNAs in Cyclina sinensis, an economically important marine bivalve, remains limited. This study aimed to address this knowledge gap by systematically identifying ncRNAs in the mantles of C. sinensis with purple and white shells. Through our analysis, we identified a differential expression of 1244 mRNAs, 196 lncRNAs, 49 circRNAs, and 23 miRNAs between purple- and white-shell clams. Functional enrichment analysis revealed the involvement of these differentially expressed ncRNAs in biomineralization and pigmentation processes. To gain further insights into the regulatory mechanisms underlying shell color formation, we established competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks. These networks allowed us to identify targeted differentially expressed miRNAs (DEMis) and genes associated with shell color formation. Based on the ceRNA networks, we obtained an up-down-up lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA network consisting of 13 upregulated lncRNAs and a circRNA-miRNA-mRNA network comprising three upregulated circRNAs (novel_circ_0004787, novel_circ_0001165, novel_circ_0000245). Through these networks, we identified and selected an upregulated novel gene (evm.TU.Hic_asm_7.988) and a downregulated sponge miRNA (hru-miR-1985) as potential contributors to shell color regulation. In summary, the present investigation offers a comprehensive analysis of ncRNA catalogs expressed in the clam mantle of C. sinensis. The findings enhance our comprehension of the molecular mechanisms governing shell coloration and offer new perspectives for selective breeding of C. sinensis in the future.

Rapid detection of pathogens and analytes at the point of care offers an opportunity for prompt patient management and public health control. This paper reports an open microfluidic platform coupled with active whispering gallery mode (WGM) microsphere resonators for the rapid detection of influenza viruses. The WGM microsphere resonators, precoated with influenza A polyclonal antibodies, are mechanically trapped in the open micropillar array, where the evaporation-driven flow continuously transports a small volume (∼µL) of sample to the resonators without auxiliaries. Selective chemical modification of the pillar array changes surface wettability and flow pattern, which enhances the detection sensitivity of the WGM resonator-based virus sensor. The optofluidic sensing platform is able to specifically detect influenza A viruses within 15 min using a few microliters of sample and displays a linear response to different virus concentrations.

Purpose: The incidence of gastroparesis is higher in individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) compared to the healthy individuals. Our study aimed to explore the risk factors for gastroparesis in T2DM and to establish a clinical prediction model (nomogram). Methods: Our study enlisted 694 patients with T2DM from two medical centers over a period of time. From January 2020 to December 2022, 347 and 149 patients were recruited from the Beilun branch of Zhejiang University's First Affiliated Hospital in the training and internal validation cohorts, respectively. The external validation cohort consisted of 198 patients who were enrolled at Nanchang University's First Affiliated Hospital from October 2020 to September 2021. We conducted univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses to select the risk factors for gastroparesis in patients with T2DM; subsequently,we developed a nomogram model. The performance of the nomogram was evaluated using the area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC), calibration curve, and decision curve analysis(DCA). Results: Four clinical variables, including age, regular exercise, glycated hemoglobin level(HbA1c), and Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection, were identified and included in the model. The model demonstrated excellent discrimination, with an AUC of 0.951 (95% CI = 0.925-0.978) in the training group, and 0.910 (95% CI = 0.859-0.961) and 0.875 (95% CI = 0.813-0.937) in the internal and external validation groups, respectively. The calibration curve showed good consistency between prediction of the model and observed gastroparesis. The DCA also demonstrated good clinical efficacy. Conclusion: The nomogram model developed in this study showed good performance in predicting gastroparesis in patients with T2DM.

Splice variants are known to cause diseases by utilizing alternative splice sites, potentially resulting in protein truncation or mRNA degradation by nonsense-mediated decay. Splice variants are verified when altered mature mRNA sequences are identified in RNA analyses or minigene assays. Using a quantitative minigene assay, qMini, we uncovered a previously overlooked class of disease-associated splice variants that did not alter mRNA sequence but decreased mature mRNA level, suggesting a potentially new pathogenic mechanism.

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the most up-to-date burden of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and spinal cord injury (SCI) and analyse their leading causes in different countries/territories. DESIGN: An analysis of Global Burden of Disease (GBD) data. SETTING: The epidemiological data were gathered from GBD Results Tool (1 January, 1990─31 December 2019) covering 21 GBD regions and 204 countries/ territories. PARTICIPANTS: Patients with TBI/SCI. MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES: Absolute numbers and age-standardised rates/estimates of incidence, prevalence and years lived with disability (YLDs) of TBI/SCI by location in 2019, with their percentage changes from 1990 to 2019. The leading causes (eg, falls) of TBI/SCI in 204 countries/territories. RESULTS: Globally, in 2019, TBI had 27.16 million new cases, 48.99 million prevalent cases and 7.08 million YLDs. SCI had 0.91 million new cases, 20.64 million prevalent cases and 6.20 million YLDs. Global age-standardised incidence rates of TBI decreased significantly by -5.5% (95% uncertainty interval -8.9% to -3.0%) from 1990 to 2019, whereas SCI had no significant change (-6.1% (-17.3% to 1.5%)). Regionally, in 2019, Eastern Europe and High-income North America had the highest burden of TBI and SCI, respectively. Nationally, in 2019, Slovenia and Afghanistan had the highest age-standardised incidence rates of TBI and SCI, respectively. For TBI, falls were the leading cause in 74% (150/204) of countries/territories, followed by pedestrian road injuries (14%, 29/204), motor vehicle road injuries (5%, 11/204), and conflict and terrorism (2%, 4/204). For SCI, falls were the leading cause in 97% (198/204) of countries/territories, followed by conflict and terrorism (3%, 6/204). CONCLUSIONS: Global age-standardised incidence rates of TBI have decreased significantly since 1990, whereas SCI had no significant change. The leading causes of TBI/SCI globally were falls, but variations did exist between countries/territories. Policy-makers should continue to prioritise interventions to reduce falls, but priorities may vary between countries/territories.

Histone H2A monoubiquitination is associated with transcriptional repression and needs to be removed by deubiquitinases to facilitate gene transcription in eukaryotes. However, the deubiquitinase responsible for genome-wide H2A deubiquitination in plants has yet to be identified. In this study, we found that the previously identified PWWP-EPCR-ARID-TRB (PEAT) complex components interact with both the ubiquitin-specific protease UBP5 and the redundant histone acetyltransferases HAM1 and HAM2 (HAM1/2) to form a larger version of PEAT complex in Arabidopsis thaliana. UBP5 functions as an H2A deubiquitinase in a nucleosome substrate-dependent manner in vitro and mediates H2A deubiquitination at the whole-genome level in vivo. HAM1/2 are shared subunits of the PEAT complex and the conserved NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex, and are responsible for histone H4K5 acetylation. Within the PEAT complex, the PWWP components (PWWP1, PWWP2, and PWWP3) directly interact with UBP5 and are necessary for UBP5-mediated H2A deubiquitination, while the EPCR components (EPCR1 and EPCR2) directly interact with HAM1/2 and are required for HAM1/2-mediated H4K5 acetylation. Collectively, our study not only identifies dual roles of the PEAT complex in H2A deubiquitination and H4K5 acetylation but also illustrates how these processes collaborate at the whole-genome level to regulate the transcription and development in plants.

Context: The glial cells missing 2 (GCM2) gene functions as a transcription factor that is essential for parathyroid gland development, and variants in this gene have been associated with 2 parathyroid diseases: isolated hypoparathyroidism in patients with homozygous germline inactivating variants and primary hyperparathyroidism in patients with heterozygous germline activating variants. A recurrent germline activating missense variant of GCM2, p.Y394S, has been reported in patients with familial primary hyperparathyroidism. Objective: To determine whether the GCM2 p.Y394S missense variant causes overactive and enlarged parathyroid glands in a mouse model. Methods: CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technology was used to generate a mouse model with the germline heterozygous Gcm2 variant p.Y392S that corresponds to the human GCM2 p.Y394S variant. Wild-type (Gcm2+/+) and germline heterozygous (Gcm2+/Y392S) mice were evaluated for serum biochemistry and parathyroid gland morphology. Results: Gcm2 +/Y392S mice did not show any change compared to Gcm2+/+ mice in serum calcium and parathyroid hormone levels, parathyroid gland histology, cell proliferation, or parathyroid gland size. Conclusion: The mouse model of the p.Y392S variant of Gcm2 shows that this variant is tolerated in mice, as it does not increase parathyroid gland cell proliferation and circulating calcium or PTH levels. Further investigation of Gcm2+/Y392S mice to study the effect of this variant of Gcm2 on early events in parathyroid gland development will be of interest.

OBJECTIVE: To systematically review the clinical efficacy of total ankle arthroplasty (TAA) and ankle arthrodesis (AA) in the treatment of end-stage ankle arthritis. METHODS: The PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane Library databases were searched for articles published in the treatment of end-stage ankle arthritis with AA or TAA from the establishment of the database to June 2021. Bias risk tool was used to evaluate the quality of the literature. The American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society Ankle-Hindfoot Scale(AOFAS), visual analog scale (VAS), ankle osteoarthritis scale(AOS), gait analysis (pace, frequency, stride), range of motion (ROM), satisfaction, complications and reoperation rate were analyzed by meta-analysis between AA and TAA groups by RevMan 5.3 software. RESULTS: A total of 12 articles were included, including 1 050 patients in the AA group and 3 760 patients in the TAA group, totaling 4 810 patients. Meta-analysis showed that the total score of AOFAS[MD=-3.12, 95%CI(-9.02, 2.96), P=0.31], pain score [MD=1.60, 95%CI(-1.35, 4.54), P=0.29], alignmentl score[MD=-0.04, 95%CI(-0.52, 0.44), P=0.88], VAS[MD=0.10, 95%CI(-0.49, 0.68), P=0.74], and AOS total score [MD=-4.01, 95%CI(-8.28, 0.25), P=0.06], the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). The score of AOFAS functional in TAA group was significantly higher than that in TAA group[MD=44.22, 95%CI(-8.01, -0.43), P=0.03]. There was no significant difference in gait analysis between the two groups (P>0.05). Postoperative ROM [MD=-4.93, 95%CI(-6.35, -3.52), P<0.000 01] and change in ROM from preoperative to follow-up[MD=-5.74, 95%CI(-8.88, -2.61), P=0.0003] between two groups, the difference was statistically significant. There was no significant difference in satisfaction between the two groups [OR=1.011, 95%CI(0.46, 2.23), P=0.98]. Complications [OR=1.61, 95%CI(1.26, 2.06), P=0.0002] and non-revision reoperation [OR=1.61, 95%CI(1.17, 2.21), P=0.003] were significantly lower in the TAA group than in the AA group. There was no significant difference in the rate of revision and reoperation(P>0.05) between the two groups [OR=1.02, 95%CI(0.37, 2.78), P=0.97]. CONCLUSION: The clinical efficacy of AA is similar to that of TAA, but the non revision reoperation rate and main surgical complications of TAA are significantly reduced. Therefore, further high-quality methodological research and long-term follow-up are needed to confirm this conclusion.

BACKGROUND: Traumatic spinal injury (TSI) is associated with significant fatality and social burden; however, the epidemiology and treatment of patients with TSI in the US remain unclear. MATERIALS AND METHODS: An adult population was selected from the National Inpatient Sample database from 2016 to 2019. TSI incidence was calculated and TSI-related hospitalizations were divided into operative and nonoperative groups according to the treatments received. TSIs were classified as fracture, dislocation, internal organ injury, nerve root injury, or sprain injuries based on their nature. The annual percentage change (APC) was calculated to identify trends. In-hospital deaths were utilized to evaluate the prognosis of different TSIs. RESULTS: Overall, 95 047 adult patients were hospitalized with TSI in the US from 2016 to 2019, with an incidence rate of 48.4 per 100 000 persons in 2019 (95% CI: 46.2-50.6). The total incidence increased with an APC of 1.5% (95% CI: 0.1-3%) from 2016 to 2019. Operative TSI treatment was more common than nonoperative (32.8 vs. 3.8; 95% CI: 32.3-33.2 vs. 3.6-4%). The number of operations increased from 37 555 (95% CI: 34 674-40 436) to 40 460 (95% CI: 37 372-43 548); however, the operative rate only increased for internal organ injury (i.e. spinal cord injury [SCI])-related hospitalizations (APC, 3.6%; 95% CI: 2.8-4.4%). In-hospital mortality was highest among SCI-related hospitalizations, recorded at 3.9% (95% CI: 2.9-5%) and 28% (95% CI: 17.9-38.2%) in the operative and nonoperative groups, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: The estimated incidence of TSI in US adults increased from 2016 to 2019. The number of operations increased; however, the proportion of operations performed on TSI-related hospitalizations did not significantly change. In 2019, SCI was the highest associated mortality TSI, regardless of operative or nonoperative treatment.

The Jiaozhou Bay ecosystem, a crucial marine ecosystem in China, has been plagued by frequent harmful algal blooms as due to deteriorating water quality and eutrophication. This study analyzed the temporal and spatial changes of harmful algal blooms in Jiaozhou Bay from 2000 to 2022 using the Floating Algae Index (FAI) calculated from MODIS (2000-2022) and Sentinel-2 (2015-2022) satellite image datasets. The calculation results of the image datasets were compared. The frequency of planktonic algal outbreaks was low and constant until 2017, but has increased annually since then. Algae blooms are most common in the summer and primarily concentrated along the bay's coast, middle, and mouth, with obvious seasonal and spatial distribution characteristics. Several factors influencing algal outbreaks were identified, including sea surface temperature, wind speed, air pressure, dissolved oxygen, nitrogen and phosphorus ratios, chemical oxygen demand, and petroleum pollutants. Algal bloom outbreaks in Jiaozhou Bay are expected to remain high in 2023. The findings provide crucial information for water quality management and future algal outbreak prediction and prevention in Jiaozhou Bay.

BACKGROUND: To investigate the effect of intraoperative goal-directed fluid therapy (GDFT) combined with enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) program on postoperative complications in elderly patients undergoing thoracoscopic pulmonary resection. METHODS: Patients, more than 60 years old, undergoing thoracoscopic pulmonary resection for non-small cell lung cancer were randomly divided into GDFT group and restrictive fluid therapy (RFT) group. ERAS program was implemented in all patients. In GDFT group, the intraoperative fluid management was guided by stroke volume variation (SVV), cardiac index (CI), and mean arterial pressure (MAP) and maintained the SVV < 13%, CI > 2.5 L/min/m2, and MAP > 65 mmHg. In RFT group, fluid maintenance with 2 ml/kg/h of balanced crystalloid solution, norepinephrine was used to maintain MAP > 65 mmHg. The incidence of postoperative acute kidney injury (AKI) and pulmonary and cardiac complications was compared. RESULTS: Two-hundred seventy-six patients were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups (138 in each group). Compared to RFT group, the total intraoperative infusion volume, colloids infusion volume, and urine output were more; the dosage of norepinephrine was lower in GDFT group. Although there were no significant differences of postoperative AKI (GDFT vs RFT; 4.3% vs 8%; P = 0.317) and composite postoperative complications (GDFT vs RFT; 66 vs 70) between groups, but the postoperative increase degree of serum creatinine was lower in GDFT group than that in RFT group (GDFT vs RFT; 91.9 ± 25.2 µmol/L vs 97.1 ± 17.6 µmol/L; P = 0.048). CONCLUSIONS: Under ERAS program, there was no significant difference of AKI incidence between GDFT and RFT in elderly patients undergoing thoracoscopic pulmonary resection. But postoperative increase degree of serum creatinine was lower in GDFT group. TRIAL REGISTRATION: Registered at ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT04302467 on 26 February 2020.
