RESUMO

Nowadays, it is still a challenge to prepared high efficiency and low cost formaldehyde (HCHO) removal catalysts in order to tackle the long-living indoor air pollution. Herein, δ-MnO2 is successfully synthesized by a facile ozonation strategy, where Mn2+ is oxidized by ozone (O3) bubble in an alkaline solution. It presents one of the best catalytic properties with a low 100% conversion temperature of 85°C for 50 ppm of HCHO under a GHSV of 48,000 mL/(g·hr). As a comparison, more than 6 times far longer oxidation time is needed if O3 is replaced by O2. Characterizations show that ozonation process generates a different intermediate of tetragonal ß-HMnO2, which would favor the quick transformation into the final product δ-MnO2, as compared with the relatively more thermodynamically stable monoclinic γ-HMnO2 in the O2 process. Finally, HCHO is found to be decomposed into CO2 via formate, dioxymethylene and carbonate species as identified by room temperature in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared fourier transform spectroscopy. All these results show great potency of this facile ozonation routine for the highly active δ-MnO2 synthesis in order to remove the HCHO contamination.

RESUMO

Chemisorption on organometallic-based adsorbents is crucial for the controlled separation and purification of targeted systems. Herein, oriented 1D NH2-CuBDC·H2O metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) featuring accessible CuII sites are successfully fabricated by bottom-up interfacial polymerization. The prepared MOFs, as deliberately self-assembled secondary particles, exhibit a visually detectable coordination-responsive characteristic induced by the nucleophilic substitution and competitive coordination of guest molecules. As a versatile phase-change chemosorbent, the MOFs exhibit unprecedented NH3 capture (18.83 mmol g-1 at 298 K) and bioethanol dehydration performance (enriching ethanol from 99% to 99.99% within 10 min by direct adsorption separation of liquid mixtures of ethanol and water). Furthermore, the raw materials for preparing the 1D MOFs are inexpensive and readily available, and the facile regeneration with water washing at room temperature effectively minimizes the energy consumption and cost of recycling, enabling it to be the most valuable adsorbent for the removal and separation of target substances.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to analyze failed posterior fossa decompression (PFD) in patients with basilar invagination and atlantoaxial dislocation (BI-AAD). Revision surgery in these patients is challenging and has been rarely reported. In addition, the anatomical variations of the vertebral artery increase the risk of revision surgery. Here, we introduce the implementation of a new type of one-stage posterior revision surgery, whose difficulties and effects are summarized. METHODS: A total of 21 patients with BI-AAD who underwent PFD were retrospectively analyzed in our center from November 2017 to April 2021. The revision surgery in all patients was performed through the posterior approach. The Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score and the Short Term 12 (SF-12) score were employed to evaluate the clinical symptoms and health status. The distance from the tip of the odontoid to Chamberlain's line (DCL), the atlantodental interval (ADI), the clivus-canal angle (CCA), the diameter of the subarachnoid space (DSS), and the craniovertebral junction triangular area (CTA) were assessed radiographically. The pre- and postoperative results were compared by paired t test. RESULTS: The data of 21 consecutive patients were reviewed, with an average follow-up period of 28 ± 14 months. Postoperative imaging showed effectively reduced compression of BI-AAD. No implant failure or neurovascular injury occurred. Eleven patients had vertebral artery abnormalities, but none had vertebral artery injury. All patients had evidence of bone fusion on the CT scan images within a 12-month follow-up period. The JOA and SF-12 scores were significantly improved 1 year postoperatively (p < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Posterior surgery using the technique of interarticular distraction, fusion with cage grafting, and fixation is a safe and effective revision surgery to treat patients with basilar invagination and atlantoaxial dislocation who failed PFD, which will result in good outcome.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The anterior controllable antedisplacement and fusion (ACAF) technique is a new procedure for the treatment of cervical ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) that requires management of the disc adjacent to the ossification. This study describes a novel technique to reduce the number of fixed segments, namely, the "Klotski technique." The efficacy of ACAF using the Klotski technique was compared with that of anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion (ACCF) in the treatment of OPLL with en bloc type dural ossification (DO). METHODS: The clinical data of 25 patients with severe OPLL and en bloc type DO who were treated by the ACAF Klotski technique or ACCF at our hospital from January 2020 to January 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. In the Klotski technique, the number of segments fused within the OPLL is limited. The antedisplacement space was designed according to the shape of the vertebrae-OPLL-DO complex (VODC). Then, the entire VODC was antedisplaced as in Klotski. Neurological function and image examination were assessed preoperatively and postoperatively. Complications associated with surgery were recorded. RESULTS: Patients were followed up for 24-36 months. There were 11 patients who were treated with ACAF and 14 patients who were treated with ACCF. At 2 weeks after surgery, the incidence of neurological deterioration was 21.4% (3 of 14) in the ACCF group and 9.1% (1 of 11) in the ACAF group. The incidence of intraoperative cerebrospinal fluid leakage (CFL) was 35.7% (5 of 14) in the ACCF group and 9.1% (1 of 11) in the ACAF group. The postoperative follow-up JOA scores of the patients in both groups were significantly better than their preoperative JOA scores (p<0.05). CONCLUSION: The Klotski technique for ACAF is a good option for the treatment of patients with en bloc type OPLL-DO, as it limits the number of fused segments, has a low incidence of CFL and neurologic deficits and is associated with good neurological recovery.

RESUMO

Ultrahigh molecular weight polymers display outstanding properties and have great application potential. However, the traditional polymerization methods have inevitable disadvantages that challenge the green synthesis of ultrahigh molecular weight polymers. The paper achieved an ultrahigh molecular weight poly (trifluoroethyl methacrylate) via a novel polymerization and discussed the mechanistic, kinetic, and experimental aspects. The combination of palladium nanoparticles with ethyl 2-bromopropionate has been identified as an exceedingly efficient system for initiating the polymerization of trifluoroethyl methacrylate. An ultrahigh molecular weight poly (trifluoroethyl methacrylate) with a number-average molecular weight up to 3.03 × 106 Da has been synthesized at a feeding molar ratio of [poly (trifluoroethyl methacrylate)]/[ethyl 2-bromopropionate]/[palladium nanoparticles] = 3.95 × 104:756:1 at 70 °C. The reaction orders concerning palladium nanoparticles, ethyl 2-bromopropionate, and poly (trifluoroethyl methacrylate) were determined to be 0.59, 0.34, and 1.38, respectively. By analyzing a series of characterizations, we verified that the polymerization of poly (trifluoroethyl methacrylate) was initiated by the ethyl 2-bromopropionate residue radicals, which were generated from the interaction between palladium nanoparticles and ethyl 2-bromopropionate. The comparatively large size of the palladium nanoparticles provided a barrier to chain-growing radicals, promoting the synthesis of ultrahigh molecular weight polymers.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Behçet's syndrome (BS) is a variant vessel vasculitis that can involve multiple organs, with highly heterogeneous clinical manifestations. This study aims to analyze baseline data of BS patients to enhance the comprehension of its clinical features. METHODS: This study included 1216 registered cases of BS patients referred to Huadong Hospital affiliated with Fudan University. Each patient was thoroughly assessed and recorded for demographic data, clinical manifestations, gastrointestinal endoscope, imaging, etc. RESULTS: Significant gender differences were observed in clinical manifestations. Pseudofolliculitis (p < .001), uveitis (p = .003), vascular (p < .001), and cardiovascular involvement (p < .001) were significantly more prevalent in male BS patients, while genital ulcers (p = .011) and erythema nodosum (p = .009) were more common among the female. Furthermore, pseudofolliculitis (44.3%, 37.4% vs. 25.0%, p < .001), pathergy test positivity (37.0%, 24.5% vs. 12.6%, p < .001), and uveitis (18.8%, 18.4% vs. 11.2%, p < .001) showed higher incidence rates in the 16-35 years age group. Vascular involvement (11.1%, 18.0% vs. 15.8%, p < .001) notably increased in the 36-50 years age group. Additionally, the ISG diagnostic criteria were more likely to be met in the 16-35 age group (OR: 2.039, 95% CI: 1.581-2.631, p < .001), whereas the ICBD criteria were less likely to be met in the 16-35 age group (OR: 0.266, 95% CI: 0.150-0.474, p < .001). CONCLUSIONS: This study provided data on the baseline of clinical features of BS in a single center, BS patients presented significant heterogeneity, showing different manifestations across various genders and age groups. This diversity might contribute to a better understanding of BS clinical features and pave the way for future multi-center studies.

RESUMO

The extracellular matrix of cartilage primarily constitutes of collagen and aggrecan. Cartilage degradation starts with aggrecan loss in osteoarthritis (OA). Vitamin D (VD) plays an essential role in several inflammation-related diseases and can protect the collagen in cartilage during OA. The present study focused on the role of VD in aggrecan turnover of human articular chondrocytes treated with tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) and the possible mechanism. Treatment with different doses of VD and different periods of intervention with TNF-α and TGF-ß1 receptor (TGFßR1) inhibitor SB525334 were investigated. The viability of human chondrocytes and extracellular secretion of TGF-ß1 were measured. The expression of intracellular TGFßR1 and VD receptor was examined. Transcriptional and translational levels of aggrecan and the related metabolic factors were analyzed. The results showed that TNF-α markedly reduced the viability, TGFßR1 expressions and aggrecan levels of human chondrocytes, and increased disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs. The alterations were partially inhibited by VD treatment. Furthermore, the effects of VD were blocked by the TGFßR1 inhibitor SB525334 in TNF-α-treated cells. VD may prevent proteoglycan loss due to TNF-α via TGF-ß1 signaling in human chondrocytes.

RESUMO

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), a condition often linked with hypertension, has an undefined relationship with renalase, a protein known for regulating blood pressure. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between serum renalase levels as well as renalase functional single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs2296545 variant and hypertension in a Han Chinese OSA population. 126 subjects underwent serum renalase detection, with linear regression being performed to evaluate the relationship between serum renalase levels and OSA-related traits. Additional 4275 subjects were obtained rs2296545 genotype information by SNP microarray. And binary logistic regression was used to assess the effect of rs2296545 on hypertension risk. Molecular dynamics simulation and molecular docking were utilized to access the protein structures and the interplay between protein and catecholamines of wild-type and rs2296545 mutant renalase. The results showed that serum renalase levels were significantly higher in the severe OSA group. Further analysis showed renalase levels were positively correlated with blood pressure in the non-OSA group and negatively correlated in the severe OSA group. For rs2296545 polymorphism analysis, the hypertension risk significantly increased for the recessive model CC/GG + CG (OR = 1.211, 95% CI: 1.025-1.431) and the additive model CC/CG (OR = 1.223, 95% CI: 1.025-1.458) in the severe OSA. The rs2296545 polymorphism affected protein structure, and led to increase binding free energy, weakening interactions between renalase and catecholamines. In conclusion, serum renalase levels had independent association with blood pressure. And rs2296545 polymorphism may influence on susceptibility to hypertension by altering protein ability to bind to catecholamines, which might contribute to the intervention of hypertension in the OSA population.

RESUMO

METHODS: Single-cell transcriptomics and high-throughput transcriptomics were used to screen factors significantly correlated with intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD). Expression changes of CFIm25 were determined via RT-qPCR and Western blot. NP cells were isolated from mouse intervertebral discs and induced to degrade with TNF-α and IL-1ß. CFIm25 was knocked out using CRISPR-Cas9, and CFIm25 knockout and overexpressing nucleus pulposus (NP) cell lines were generated through lentiviral transfection. Proteoglycan expression, protein expression, inflammatory factor expression, cell viability, proliferation, migration, gene expression, and protein expression were analyzed using various assays (alcian blue staining, immunofluorescence, ELISA, CCK-8, EDU labeling, transwell migration, scratch assay, RT-qPCR, Western blot). The GelMA-HAMA hydrogel loaded with APET×2 polypeptide and sgRNA was designed, and its effects on NP regeneration were assessed through in vitro and mouse model experiments. The progression of IDD in mice was evaluated using X-ray, H&E staining, and Safranin O-Fast Green staining. Immunohistochemistry was performed to determine protein expression in NP tissue. Proteomic analysis combined with in vitro and in vivo experiments was conducted to elucidate the mechanisms of hydrogel action. RESULTS: CFIm25 was upregulated in IDD NP tissue and significantly correlated with disease progression. Inhibition of CFIm25 improved NP cell degeneration, enhanced cell proliferation, and migration. The hydrogel effectively knocked down CFIm25 expression, improved NP cell degeneration, promoted cell proliferation and migration, and mitigated IDD progression in a mouse model. The hydrogel inhibited inflammatory factor expression (IL-6, iNOS, IL-1ß, TNF-α) by targeting the p38/NF-κB signaling pathway, increased collagen COLII and proteoglycan Aggrecan expression, and suppressed NP degeneration-related factors (COX-2, MMP-3). CONCLUSION: The study highlighted the crucial role of CFIm25 in IDD and introduced a promising therapeutic strategy using a porous spherical GelMA-HAMA hydrogel loaded with APET×2 polypeptide and sgRNA. This innovative approach offers new possibilities for treating degenerated intervertebral discs.

RESUMO

Continuous covalent organic framework (COF) thin membranes have garnered broad concern over the past few years due to their merits of low energy requirements, operational simplicity, ecofriendliness, and high separation efficiency in the application process. This study marks the first instance of fabricating two distinct, self-supporting COF membranes from identical building blocks through solvent modulation. Notably, the precision of the COF membrane's separation capabilities is substantially enhanced by altering the pore alignment from a random to a vertical orientation. Within these confined channels, the membrane with vertically aligned pores and micron-scale stacking thickness demonstrates rapid and selective transportation of Li+ ions over Na+ and K+ ions, achieving Li+/K+ and Li+/Na+ selectivity ratios of 38.7 and 7.2, respectively. This research not only reveals regulated orientation and layer stacking in COF membranes via strategic solvent selection but also offers a potent approach for developing membranes specialized in Li+ ion separation.

RESUMO

A three-dimensional magnetic probe system has been designed and implemented at the Space Plasma Environment Research Facility (SPERF). This system has been developed to measure the magnetic field with high spatial and temporal resolution, enabling studies of fundamental processes in space physics, such as magnetic reconnection at the Earth's magnetopause, on the basis of SPERF. The system utilizes inductive components as sensors, arranged in an array and soldered onto a printed circuit board (PCB), achieving a spatial resolution of 2.5 mm. The system's electrical parameters have been measured, and its amplitude-frequency response characteristics have been simulated. The system has demonstrated good performance with response capabilities below 50 kHz. The experimental setup and results are discussed, highlighting the system's effectiveness in accurately measuring weak magnetic signals and its suitability for magnetic reconnection experiments.

RESUMO

Magnesium stearate (MgSt) and lactose fines are often used as ternary components in carrier-based dry powder inhalers (DPIs) to improve fine particle fraction (FPF), but whether they act synergistically to improve aerosolization performance of DPI formulations is currently less studied. In addition, the applicability of utilizing powder rheological parameters to predict the FPF needs to be further verified. Thus, in this study, using fluticasone propionate (FP) as a model drug, effect of lactose fines addition in 0.5% MgSt containing DPI formulations on their powder and aerodynamic properties was explored. Influence of MgSt and fines mixing order on the DPIs performance was also investigated. The results showed that addition of lactose fines (1-10%) in 0.5% MgSt containing formulations could further improve flowability and enhance adhesion of the mixtures, and they could act synergistically to improve FPF. Moreover, the presence of 0.5% MgSt can greatly reduce the amount of lactose fines required to achieve the comparable FPF. The mixing order can affect distribution of MgSt on the carrier surface, with higher FPF noted when MgSt was mixed with carrier first, followed by lactose fines. A good linear relationship between powder rheological parameters such as basic flowability energy (BFE), Permeability and FPF was disclosed. In conclusion, in FP based DPIs, MgSt and lactose fines act synergistically to enhance FPF by tuning powder characteristics. Good flowability (27.39%) and strong adhesion (72.61%) contributed to the enhanced drug deposition in the lung.

RESUMO

Ginger is an important cooking spice and herb worldwide, and scientific research has gradually confirmed the effect of ginger on preventing hair loss. Cedrol (CE) is a small sesquiterpene molecule in ginger and its external administration (EA) has shown hope in promoting hair growth, and alternative administration mode has become a potential treatment scheme to improve the efficacy of CE. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of oral administration (OA) and EA of CE on hair regeneration of C57BL/6 alopecia areata (AA) mice induced by cyclophosphamide (CP) and to clarify the potential hair growth mechanism of CE in AA model in vitro and in vivo. The results showed that CE-OA has a shorter hair-turning black time and faster hair growth rate, and can lessen hair follicle damage induced by CP and promote hair follicle cell proliferation. Its effect is superior to CE-EA. At the same time, CE can increase the cytokines IFN-γ, IL-2, and IL-7 in the serum of mice, and decrease the expression of adhesion factors ICAM-1 and ELAM-1, thus alleviating the immunosuppression induced by CP. Mechanism research shows that CE regulates the JAK3/STAT3 signaling pathway, activates the Wnt3α/ß-catenin germinal center, and ameliorates oxidative stress induced by CP, thus promoting the proliferation of hair follicle cells and reversing AA. These results provide a theoretical basis for understanding the anti-AA mechanism of CE-OA, indicating that CE can be used as raw material for developing oral hair growth drugs.

RESUMO

Microbial keratitis associated with contact lenses (CLs) wear remains a significant clinical concern. Antibiotic therapy is the current standard of care. However, the emergence of multidrug-resistant pathogens necessitates the investigation of alternative strategies. Antibiotic-free antimicrobial contact lenses (AFAMCLs) represent a promising approach in this regard. The effectiveness of CLs constructed with a variety of antibiotic-free antimicrobial strategies against microorganisms has been demonstrated. However, the impact of these antimicrobial strategies on CLs biocompatibility remains unclear. In the design and development of AFAMCLs, striking a balance between robust antimicrobial performance and optimal biocompatibility, including safety and wearing comfort, is a key issue. This review provides a comprehensive overview of recent advancements in AFAMCLs technology. The focus is on the antimicrobial efficacy and safety of various strategies employed in AFAMCLs construction. Furthermore, this review investigates the potential impact of these strategies on CLs parameters related to wearer comfort. This review aims to contribute to the continuous improvement of AFAMCLs and provide a reference for the trade-off between resistance to microorganisms and wearing comfort. In addition, it is hoped that this review can also provide a reference for the antimicrobial design of other medical devices.

RESUMO

Untargeted metabolomic analysis using mass spectrometry provides comprehensive metabolic profiling, but its medical application faces challenges of complex data processing, high inter-batch variability, and unidentified metabolites. Here, we present DeepMSProfiler, an explainable deep-learning-based method, enabling end-to-end analysis on raw metabolic signals with output of high accuracy and reliability. Using cross-hospital 859 human serum samples from lung adenocarcinoma, benign lung nodules, and healthy individuals, DeepMSProfiler successfully differentiates the metabolomic profiles of different groups (AUC 0.99) and detects early-stage lung adenocarcinoma (accuracy 0.961). Model flow and ablation experiments demonstrate that DeepMSProfiler overcomes inter-hospital variability and effects of unknown metabolites signals. Our ensemble strategy removes background-category phenomena in multi-classification deep-learning models, and the novel interpretability enables direct access to disease-related metabolite-protein networks. Further applying to lipid metabolomic data unveils correlations of important metabolites and proteins. Overall, DeepMSProfiler offers a straightforward and reliable method for disease diagnosis and mechanism discovery, enhancing its broad applicability.

METHODS: A total of 74 patients with tow-level lumbar degenerative diseases who underwent surgery from March 2017 to December 2019 were divided into PEEK rod group and titanium rod group. In the PEEK rod group, there were 34 patients, including 13 males and 21 females, aged from 51 to 79 years old with an average of (62.4±6.8) years old; There were 1 patient of L1-L3 segments, 7 patients of L2-L4 segments, 20 patients of L3-L5 segments and 6 patients of L4-S1 segments. In the titanium rod group, there were 40 patients, including 17 males and 23 females, aged from 52 to 81 years old with an average of (65.2±7.3) years old; There were 3 patient of L1-L3 segments, 11 patients of L2-L4 segments, 19 patients of L3-L5 segments and 7 patients of L4-S1 segments. The general conditions of operation, such as operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative drainage was recorded. The visual analogue scale (VAS) for low back pain and Oswestry disability index (ODI) were compared in preoperatively and postoperatively(3 months, 12 months and last follow-up) between two groups. The change of range of motion (ROM) was observed by flexion and extension x-ray of lumbar. RESULTS: All patients successfully completed the operation. The follow-up time ranged from 22 to 34 months with an average of(26.8±5.6) months. The operative time (142.2±44.7) min and intraoperative blood loss(166.5±67.4)ml in PEEK group were lower than those in titanium group [(160.7±57.3) min、(212.8±85.4) ml](P<0.05). There was no significant differences in postoperative drainage between the two groups (P>0.05). At the final follow-up visit, in PEEK group and titanium group VAS of low back pain[(0.8±0.4) points vs (1.0±0.5) points], VAS for leg pain [ (0.7±0.4) points vs (0.8±0.5) points] and ODI [(9.8±1.6)% vs (12.1±1.5)%] were compared with preoperative [ (5.8±1.1) points vs (6.0±1.1)points], [ (7.2±1.7) points vs (7.0±1.6) points], [(68.5±8.9)% vs(66.3±8.2)%] were significantly different(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in VAS scores between the two groups at each postoperative time point (P>0.05). At 3 months after surgery, there was no difference in ODI between the two groups (P>0.05). There were significant differences in ODI between PEEK group and titanium rod group at 12 months [(15.5±2.1)% vs (18.4±2.4)%] and at the last follow-up [(9.8±1.6)% vs (12.1±1.5)%] (P<0.05). The total range of motion (ROM) of lumbar decreased in both groups after surgery. At 12 months after surgery and the last follow-up, the PEEK group compared with the titanium rod group, the total range of motion of lumbar was statistically significant (P<0.05). The range of motion (ROM) of the fixed segments decreased in both groups after surgery. The ROM of the fixed segments in PEEK group decreased from (9.5±4.6)° to (4.1±1.9)° at the last follow-up (P<0.05), which in the titanium rod group was decreased from (9.8±4.3)°to (0.9±0.5)° at the last follow-up (P<0.05). The range of motion (ROM) of upper adjacent segment increased in both groups, there was statistical significance in the ROM of upper adjacent segment between the two groups at 12 months after surgery and the last follow-up, (P<0.05). There was no screw loosening and broken rods in both groups during the follow-up period. CONCLUSION: The PEEK rod semi-rigid pedicle screw internal fixation system used in lumbar non-fusion surgery can retain part of the mobility of the fixed segment, showing comparable short-term clinical efficacy to titanium rod fusion. PEEK rod semi-rigid pedicle screw internal fixation system is a feasible choice for the treatment of lumbar spine degenerative diseases, and its long-term efficacy needs further follow-up observation.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Evaluation of the clinical efficacy of f trochanteric flip osteotomy combined with Kocher-Langenbeck approach for high acetabular posterior wall fracture. METHODS: Between January 2020 and December 2022, 20 patients with high acetabular posterior wall fractures were retrospectively analyzed, including 12 males and 8 females, aged 18 to 75 years old. They were divided into two groups according to the different surgical methods. Ten patients were treated with greater trochanteric osteotomy combined with Kocher-Langenbeck approach as the observation group, including 5 males and 5 females, aged from 18 to 75 years old. Ten patients were treated with Kocher-Langenbeck approach alone as the control group, including 7 males and 3 females, aged from 18 to 71 years old. Matta reduction criteria were used to evaluate the reduction quality of the two groups, and Harris score was used to compare the hip function of the two groups at the latest follow-up. The operation time, blood loss and postoperative complications of the two groups were analyzed. RESULTS: All patients were followed up for 10 to 24 months. According to the Matta fracture reduction quality evaluation criteria, the observation group achieved anatomical reduction in 6 cases, satisfactory reduction in 3 cases, and unsatisfactory reduction in 1 case, while the control group only achieved anatomical reduction in 3 cases, satisfactory reduction in 3 cases, and unsatisfactory reduction in 4 cases. At the final follow-up, the Harris hip score ranged from 71.4 to 96.6 in the observation group and 65.3 to 94.5 in the control group. According to the results of Harris score. The hip joint function of the observation group was excellent in 6 cases, good in 3 cases, and fair in 1 case. The hip joint function of the control group was excellent in 2 cases, good in 3 cases, fair in 3 cases, and poor in 2 cases. In the observation group, the intraoperative blood loss ranged from 300 to 700 ml, and the operation duration ranged from 120 to 180 min;in the control group, the intraoperative blood loss ranged from 300 to 650 ml, and the operation duration ranged from 100 to 180 min. Complications in the observation group included 1 case of traumatic arthritis and 1 case of heterotopic ossification, while complications in the control group included 3 cases of traumatic arthritis, 3 cases of heterotopic ossification and 1 case of hip abduction weakness. CONCLUSION: Trochanteric flip osteotomy combined with the Kocher-Langenbeck approach significantly improved anatomical fracture reduction rates, enhanced excellent and good hip joint function outcomes, and reduced surgical complication incidence compared to the Kocher-Langenbeck approach alone. Clinical application of this combined approach is promising, although larger studies are needed for further validation.
