CONTEXT: Fryette's mechanics is taught as a simplistic model of coupled vertebral movement, fundamental in osteopathic practice. This study seeks to better understand the likelihood of Fryette's model by calculating vertebral orientation in computed tomography (CT) scans. Given previous findings of low angular coupled movements during overall spinal motion, static calculations provide a unique perspective on the likelihood of Fryette's mechanics. OBJECTIVES: This analysis aims to evaluate the efficacy of Fryette's principles in predicting vertebral positioning in CT scans by comparing their 3-dimensional (3D) orientation to movements described by Fryette. METHODS: 3D models of 953 thoracic and lumbar vertebrae were obtained from 82 CT scans within the VerSe`20 open-source dataset. A stepwise algorithm generated three unique symmetry planes for each vertebra, offering 3D angular orientation with respect to the vertebral level below. A total of 422 vertebrae were omitted from the analysis due to the presence of pathologies significant enough to affect their motion, inaccurate symmetry plane calculations, or absence of vertebral level below. The remaining 531 vertebra were analyzed to compare quantitative coupled positioning against expected coupled spinal movements in line with Fryette's mechanics. One-sample proportional z-scoring was implemented for all vertebral levels with an ∝=0.05 and a null hypothesis of Fryette's primed positioning occurring by chance of 50 %. Further analysis was performed with individual z-scoring for each individual level to see which levels were statistically significant. RESULTS: Data from the VerSe`20 dataset revealed that 56.9 % of successfully analyzed vertebrae demonstrated positions compatible with Fryette's mechanics (p=0.0014, power=89 %). The 302 vertebral levels that did display coupled positioning consisted of Type I (166 vertebrae) and Type II (136 vertebrae) compatible with Fryette's mechanics. Levels that demonstrated statistical significance consisted of T5 (p=0, power=99 %), T6 (p=0.0023, power=77 %), T7 (p=0.041, power=46 %), and T10 (p=0.017, power=60 %). CONCLUSIONS: Our analysis suggests that the static positions of vertebrae in CT scans may align with Fryette's descriptions, although not very often. Notably, vertebral levels T5-T7 and T10 exhibit strong evidence of their static positions aligning with expected movements, warranting further investigation into the Fryette phenomenon at these levels. Future studies should explore the dynamic implications of these findings to enhance our understanding of spinal biomechanics.

OBJECTIVE: Non-contrast computed tomography (CT) of the brain is a primary neuroimaging modality in emergency patients suspected of having cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST). The objective of the study was to determine the diagnostic accuracy of Hounsfield unit (HU) values and the ratio of HU to hematocrit value (HU/Htc) in predicting CVST in suspected patients. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A retrospective, case-control study was done in a tertiary care institute which included 35 patients with CVST constituted as cases and 41 patients without CVST as controls on the basis of magnetic resonance venography (MRV). Non-contrast CT brain of all 76 subjects were assessed by two experienced radiologists independently. HU values of dural venous sinuses were calculated in both groups, and HU/Htc ratio was also determined. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25.0 (SPSS© for Windows, IBM© Corp.) was used for statistical analysis. Independent samples t-test was applied to compare the means of continuous variables. The diagnostic values were computed using the Calculator 1 tool on clinical research calculators tab on vassarstats.net. The predictive values of HU and HU/Htc ratio were estimated by the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. RESULTS: In CVST group, the mean Hounsfield Unit (HU) value was "75.9±3.9 (mean±SD)", while in control group, it was 57.78±4.65 (mean±SD), p < 0.001. The mean HU/Htc ratio was 1.98±0.42 (mean±SD) in the CVST group and 1.51±0.12 (mean±SD) in the control group (p < 0.001). Optimum cut-off HU value was calculated as 68, with 97% sensitivity and 100% specificity. For HU/Htc ratio, optimum cut-off was calculated as 1.69, yielding 71.4% sensitivity and 100% specificity on the basis of ROC curves. The difference was not statistically significant in hemoglobin and hematocrit (Htc) values between the cases and controls. CONCLUSION: The quantitative measurements like HU value and HU/Htc ratio provide an easily obtainable metric in patients with suspected CVST on non-contrast CT brain, thus enhancing the role of non-contrast CT brain in diagnosing CVST.

Interleukin-17A is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that plays a key role in the immune response to many pathogens and implicated in autoimmune diseases. This molecule is also involved in providing protection to many bacterial and fungal infections of gastro-intestinal tract and respiratory mucosa. Although molecular aspect of IL-17A has been studied in few species, no data are available for buffalo, which is one of the major sources of milk production in India. Therefore, in the present study, IL-17A gene of Indian Murrah Buffalo origin was cloned, expressed, and analyzed using bioinformatic tools. The coding sequence of buffalo IL-17A gene was cloned in prokaryotic expression vector (pET-28a) followed by its expression, purification, and characterization. A computational analysis was performed to understand the sequence, structure, and evolutionary relationship of buIL-17A. It revealed that the length of buIL-17A sequence without signal peptide is 132 amino acids as in cattle. However, sequence identity is found to be 99% due to one amino substitution difference between buffalo and cattle. After analysis, it can be concluded that buIL-17A recombinant protein can be used as a potential immunobiological reagent for diagnostic and therapeutic purpose.

Agro-waste is the outcome of the under-utilization of bioresources and a lack of knowledge to re-use this waste in proper ways or a circular economy approach. In the Indian medicinal system, the root of Cyperus scariosus (CS) is used at a large scale due to their vital medicinal properties. Unfortunately, the aerial part of CS is treated as agro-waste and is an under-utilized bioresource. Due to a lack of knowledge, CS is treated as a weed. This present study is the first ever attempt to explore CS leaves as medicinally and a nutrient rich source. To determine the food and nutritional values of the neglected part of Cyperus scariosus R.Br. (CS), i.e. CS leaves, phytochemicals and metal ions of CS were quantified by newly developed HPLC and ICPOES-based methods. The content of the phytochemicals observed in HPLC analysis for caffeic acid, catechin, epicatechin, trans-p-coumaric acid, and trans-ferulic acid was 10.51, 276.15, 279.09, 70.53, and 36.83 µg/g, respectively. In GC-MS/MS analysis, fatty acids including linolenic acid, phytol, palmitic acid, etc. were identified. In ICPOES analysis, the significant content of Na, K, Ca, Cu, Fe, Mg, Mn, and Zn was observed. The TPC and TFC of the CS leaves was 17.933 mg GAE eq./g and 130.767 mg QCE eq./g along with an IC50 value of 2.78 mg/mL in the DPPH assay and better antacid activity was measured than the standard (CaCO3). The methanolic extract of CS leaves showed anti-microbial activity against Staphylococcus aureus (15 ± 2 mm), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (12 ± 2 mm) and Escherichia coli (10 ± 2 mm). In silico studies confirmed the in vitro results obtained from the antioxidant, antiacid, and anti-microbial studies. In addition, in silico studies revealed the anti-cancerous and anti-inflammatory potential of the CS leaves. This study, thus, demonstrated the medicinal significance of the under-utilized part of CS and the conversion of agro-waste into mankind activity as a pharmaceutical potent material. Consequently, the present study highlighted that CS leaves have medicinal importance with good nutritional utility and have a large potential in the pharmaceutical industry along with improving bio-valorization and the environment.

Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is an extremely contagious disease of cloven-hoofed domesticated and wild animals, resulting in significant economic losses in many parts of the world. FMD virus (FMDV) serotype O is responsible for approximately 70% of global outbreaks. For detection of FMDV antigen or antibody, ELISAs are used worldwide and have several limitations, such as batch-to-batch variation in generating immunobiologicals, high production cost and ethical concerns over animal sacrifice. The use of single domain antibody (sdAb) or variable N-terminal domain of the heavy chain of heavy chain antibody (VHH) found naturally in camels has proven their effectiveness in diagnostics and therapeutics. In the present study, the anti-FMDV serotype O-specific VHH-C1 gene sequence (Accession no. KJ751546) was retrieved from the NCBI database. The gene was synthesized commercially in the pBluescript KS+ cloning vector and expressed in E. coli BL21 (DE3) cells using the pET303/CT-His expression system with a C-terminal 6X-His tag. The expressed sdAb, verified by SDS‒PAGE and western blotting, was purified by Ni-chelate chromatography and used as a coating antibody in double antibody sandwich (DAS) ELISA for FMDV detection and typing. The sdAb exhibited a high binding affinity for FMDV serotype O, without any cross-reactivity toward serotypes A and Asia-1. It exhibited better thermostability up to 85 °C than conventional rabbit polyclonal anti-FMDV sera. The potential of sdAbs thus produced without sacrificing lab animals could be explored for replacing polyclonal sera in DAS-ELISA as well as for developing biosensors or lateral flow devices for FMDV type O detection.

Mimosa pudica L. (MP) is well-known plant in traditional medicinal system, especially in India. Unfortunately, leaves of MP are less explored. To determine the food and nutritional value of the neglected part of Mimosa pudica L. (MP), that is MP leaves, phytochemicals and metal ions of MP were quantified by newly developed HPLC and ICPOES-based methods. The content of phytochemicals observed using HPLC analysis for chlorogenic acid, catechin, and epicatechin was 141.823 (±8.171), 666.621 (±11.432), and 293.175 (±12.743) µg/g, respectively. Using GC/MS/MS analysis, fatty acid like oleic acid were identified. In ICP-OES analysis, a significant content of Na, K, Ca, Cu, Fe, Mg, Mn, and Zn was observed. The observed TPC and TFC for MP leaf extracts was 44.327 (±1.041) mg GAE/ g of wt. and 214.217 (±4.372) mg QCE/ g of wt., respectively. The DPPH assay depicted a strong antioxidant activity of MP leaf extracts with IC50 values of 0.796 (±0.081) mg/mL and a TEAC value of 0.0356 (±0.0003). A significant antacid activity (666 mg MP+400 mg CaCO3 >400 mg CaCO3 ≫666 mg Gelusil) of MP leaves was noticed. The methanolic extract of MP leaves demonstrated anti-microbial activity against Staphylococcus aureus (15±2mm), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (12±2mm) and Escherichia coli (10±2mm). In silico studies confirmed the in vitro results obtained for antioxidant, antiacid, and anti-microbial activities. In addition, in silico studies revealed the anti-cancerous and anti-inflammatory potential of the MP leaves. In summary, this study demonstrated the medicinal significance of MP leaves and the conversion of agro-waste or the under-utilized part of MP into pharmaceutical potent materials. Consequently, the present study highlighted that MP leaves alone have medicinal importance with good nutritional utility and possess large promise in the pharma industry along with improving bio-valorization and the environment.

Hybrid beamforming is a viable method for lowering the complexity and expense of massive multiple-input multiple-output systems while achieving high data rates on track with digital beamforming. To this end, the purpose of the research reported in this paper is to assess the effectiveness of the three architectural beamforming techniques (Analog, Digital, and Hybrid beamforming) in massive multiple-input multiple-output systems, especially hybrid beamforming. In hybrid beamforming, the antennas are connected to a single radio frequency chain, unlike digital beamforming, where each antenna has a separate radio frequency chain. The beam formation toward a particular angle depends on the channel state information. Further, massive multiple-input multiple-output is discussed in detail along with the performance parameters like bit error rate, signal-to-noise ratio, achievable sum rate, power consumption in massive multiple-input multiple-output, and energy efficiency. Finally, a comparison has been established between the three beamforming techniques.

With the onset of 5G technology, the number of users is increasing drastically. These increased numbers of users demand better service on the network. This study examines the millimeter wave bands working frequencies. Working in the millimeter wave band has the disadvantage of interference. This study aims to analyze the impact of different interference conditions on unmanned aerial vehicle use scenarios, such as open-air gatherings and indoor-outdoor sports stadiums. Performance analysis was carried out in terms of received power and path loss readings.

With the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), the number of devices will also increase tremendously. However, we need more wireless communication resources. It has been shown in the literature that non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) offers high multiplexing gains due to the simultaneous transfer of signals, and massive multiple-input-multiple-outputs (mMIMOs) offer high spectrum efficiency due to the high antenna gain and high multiplexing gains. Therefore, a downlink mMIMO NOMA cooperative system is considered in this paper. The users at the cell edge in 5G cellular system generally suffer from poor signal quality as they are far away from the BS and expend high battery power to decode the signals superimposed through NOMA. Thus, this paper uses a cooperative relay system and proposes the mMIMO NOMA double-mode model to reduce battery expenditure and increase the cell edge user's energy efficiency and sum rate. In the mMIMO NOMA double-mode model, two modes of operation are defined. Depending on the relay's battery level, these modes are chosen to utilize the system's energy efficiency. Comprehensive numerical results show the improvement in the proposed system's average sum rate and average energy efficiency compared with a conventional system. In a cooperative NOMA system, the base station (BS) transmits a signal to a relay, and the relay forwards the signal to a cluster of users. This cluster formation depends on the user positions and geographical restrictions concerning the relay equipment. Therefore, it is vital to form user clusters for efficient and simultaneous transmission. This paper also presents a novel method for efficient cluster formation.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to describe the placental changes occurring in women with preexisting diabetes mellitus and to determine if elastography can detect placental changes in vivo. DATA SOURCES: PubMed, Embase, Medline, and Cochrane were searched to identify English language studies published until July 2020. STUDY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 1) For key question 1, studies that described histopathologic changes in placentas from women with known diabetes mellitus and 2) for key question 2, those that described structural-placental changes detectable by elastography in high-risk pregnancies (eg, those complicated by preeclampsia and/or fetal growth restriction), were included. METHODS: For key question 1, we grouped placental pathologies using the Amsterdam International Consensus Group definitions. For key question 2, we conducted a metaanalysis including all data from studies reporting placental stiffness in meters per second (m/s) or kilopascals (kPa). The mean difference (95% confidence interval) was calculated using a random effects model. RESULTS: Data were extracted from 14 studies of placental histopathology in women with known diabetes. In this group, a wide variety of placental histopathologic changes are described, though none are considered pathognomonic. The histopathologic changes including maternal vascular malperfusion, fetal vascular malperfusion, and/or infectious/inflammatory/other changes were divided into 3 broad categories on the basis of presumed etiology. A total of 15 studies reported the placental stiffness scores in women with a high-risk pregnancy vs those with a normal pregnancy. Only 1 reported stiffness scores for placentas in women with preexisting diabetes mellitus (N<10 women). Pooled analysis of 14 studies with available data included 478 "high-risk pregnancies" and 828 control or healthy pregnancies. Maternal-derived pathologies resulted in higher placental stiffness (mean difference 4.5 kPa [95% confidence interval, 3.16-5.87]) compared with control or healthy pregnancies. Fetal-derived pathologies also resulted in higher placental stiffness (mean difference of 6.5 kPa [95% confidence interval, 1.08-11.86]) compared with control or healthy pregnancies. CONCLUSION: Shear wave elastography may provide an in vivo approximation of placental histopathology in women with certain kinds of high-risk pregnancies. A high-risk pregnancy may involve maternal- and fetal-derived pathologies. Further studies, particularly in women with preexisting diabetes, are needed to confirm this observation.

PURPOSE: The present study reports a very rare case of Trypanosoma theileri like infection in the peritoneal fluid of a 6-year-old female Holstein Friesian (HF) cattle brought to Veterinary Clinical Complex, Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS), Hisar. The aim of the clinical study was to report an unusual case of T. theileri-like infection associated with peritonitis and its therapeutic management. METHODS: For confirmatory diagnosis, peritoneal fluid and blood sample was collected from animal for haemato-biochemical examination, buffy coat examination and detection of Trypanosoma antigen by monoclonal antibody-based latex agglutination test. RESULTS: Animal had history of anorexia, high fever, oedematous swelling on the abdominal area and decrease in milk yield since 1 week. Clinical examination revealed high fever, congested conjunctival mucus membrane and oedematous inflammatory swelling on the abdominal region. Haematological examination on Day 1 revealed relative neutrophilia and eosinophilia, whereas other parameters measured were on the lower side of normal range. Thin blood smear examination did not reveal any parasite on first attempt. However, after confirmation of Trypanosoma species in peritoneal fluid collected by FNAC, buffy coat examination of blood sample was also found positive for Trypanosoma species. On Day 2, haematological examination revealed neutrophilic leucocytosis, eosinophilia and anaemia. Blood sample was also found serologically positive for Trypanosoma antigen by monoclonal antibody based latex agglutination test. Biochemical examination revealed increased blood urea nitrogen (BUN), gamma glutamyl transferase (GGT) levels, hyperglycemia, hyperprotienemia and decreased levels of sodium and chloride ions. Animal was primarily treated with isometamidium chloride (Nyzom®) @ 0.5 mg/kg body weight (IM, single dose) along with supportive therapy. CONCLUSION: Animal showed clinical recovery after 10 days of treatment. Post-recovery, blood sample of the animal was re-examined for parasite and other blood parameters and it was found negative for presence of Trypanosoma infection along with restoration of haematological values. Hence, the present study concludes the confirmatory diagnosis and therapeutic use of isometamidium hydrochloride along with anti-inflammatory drugs to Trypanosoma infection.

Optimization of the energy efficiency, fairness, and rates of the system is a vital part of communication systems. Multiple access techniques have a huge potential to enhance such performance parameters. This paper studies the performance of NOMA and OMA systems in a singular cell environment, where the cellular users are distributed randomly, and cooperative relays are considered for better system reliability. The relay nodes forward the signals to the cell-edge users. This paper considers a practical scenario where all the relay equipment is distributed with non-uniform battery power levels. The performance of OMA and NOMA schemes is compared based on the key performance indicators: sum rate, fairness, and energy efficiency. The fairness factor determines fairness in the allocation of resources to all the system's users. The performance of the two schemes is assessed in three deployment scenarios: urban, suburban, and rural scenarios. Through numerical results, it is proved that the performance of the NOMA dominates the OMA scheme.

OBJECTIVES: To estimate the prevalence of pre-existing diabetes in pregnancy from studies published during 2010-2020. METHODS: We searched PubMed, CINAHL, Scopus and other sources for relevant data sources. The prevalence of overall pre-existing, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, by country, region and period of study was synthesised from included studies using the inverse-variance heterogeneity model and the Freeman-Tukey transformation. Heterogeneity was assessed using the I2 statistic and publication bias using funnel plots. RESULTS: We identified 2479 records, of which 42 data sources with a total of 78 943 376 women, met the eligibility criteria. The included studies were from 17 countries in North America, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, Australasia, Asia and Africa. The lowest prevalence was in Europe (0.5%, 95 %CI 0.4-0.7) and the highest in the Middle East and North Africa (2.4%, 95 %CI 1.5-3.1). The prevalence of pre-existing diabetes doubled from 0.5% (95 %CI 0.1-1.0) to 1.0% (95 %CI 0.6-1.5) during the period 1990-2020. The pooled prevalences of pre-existing type 1 and type 2 diabetes were 0.3% (95 %CI 0.2-0.4) and 0.2% (95 %CI 0.0-0.9) respectively. CONCLUSION: While the prevalence of pre-existing diabetes in pregnancy is low, it has doubled from 1990 to 2020.

Porcine astrovirus (PAstV) is distributed worldwide and has been reported to cause diarrhea in pigs. PAstV belongs to the family Astroviridae and genus Mamastrovirus. PAstVs are divided into five diverse genotypes (PAstV1-PAstV5) on the basis of phylogenetic analysis of a part of the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) gene and the capsid gene. However, knowledge regarding the clinical significance and molecular characteristics of PAstV in Haryana, India, is limited. In this study, we investigated the presence of PAstV by RT-PCR of the partial RdRp gene in 110 rectal swabs collected from diarrheic pigs in different parts of Haryana, India. Of these, 35 samples (31.8%) tested positive for PAstV, with the highest positivity observed among weaning piglets 3 to 9 weeks of age (47.7%, 21/44), followed by fattening pigs 9 to 24 weeks of age (28.5%, 8/28). Phylogenetic analysis of the partial RdRp gene revealed circulation of four different genotypes (PAstV1, PAstV2, PAstV4, and PAstV5) in Haryana, with PAstV1 being the predominant genotype. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of the presence of PAstV1 and PAstV5 in the pig population of India. The PAstV sequences revealed high genetic variability and genetic heterogeneity in a relatively confined area.

BACKGROUND: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears are common in collegiate athletes. The rate of return to the preinjury level of sport activities after ACL reconstruction continues to evolve. PURPOSE/HYPOTHESIS: The purpose was to determine the return-to-sport rate after ACL reconstruction in a cohort of National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I athletes in different sports. It was hypothesized that, with intensive supervision of rehabilitation, the return-to-sport rate would be optimal. STUDY DESIGN: Case series; Level of evidence, 4. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the records of 75 collegiate athletes from a single institution who had undergone unilateral or bilateral ACL reconstruction between 2001 and 2013 and participated in an extensive supervised rehabilitation program. Prospectively collected athlete data as well as data about preinjury exposure, associated lesions, surgical technique, time lost to injury, number of games missed, time to return to full sport activity or retire, and subsequent surgical procedures were extracted from the medical and athletic trainer records. RESULTS: The 75 patients (40 male, 35 female; mean age, 20.1 years) underwent 81 reconstruction procedures (73 primary, 8 revision). The mean follow-up was 19.3 months. The overall return-to-sport rate was 92%. After reconstruction, 9 athletes (12%) retired from collegiate sports, but 3 of them returned to sport activities after graduation. Overall, 8 athletes (11%) experienced an ACL graft retear. CONCLUSION: The return-to-sport rate in our National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I athletes compared favorably with that reported in other studies in the literature. The strict follow-up by the surgeon, together with the high-profile, almost daily technical and psychological support given mainly by the athletic trainers during the recovery period, may have contributed to preparing the athletes for a competitive rate of return to sport at their preinjury level.

In this paper, we described the design, synthesis, and characterization of two novel naphthalene diimide (NDI) core-based targets modified with terminal fullerene (C60 ) yield - so called S4 and S5, in which NDI bearing 1 and 2 molecules of C60 , respectively. The absorption, electrochemical and thin-film transistor characteristics of the newly developed targets were investigated in detail. Both S4 and S5 displayed broad absorption in the 450-500 nm region, owing to the effect of conjugation due to fullerene functionalities. The electrochemical measurement suggested that the HOMO and the LUMO energy levels can be altered with the number of C60 units. Both S4 and S5 were employed as organic semiconductor materials in n-channel transistors. The thin film transistor based on S4 exhibited superior electron mobility (µe) values ranging from 1.20×10-4 to 3.58×10-4  cm2  V-1 s-1 with a current on-off ratio varying from 102 to 103 in comparison with the performance of S5 based transistor, which exhibited µe ranging from 8.33×10-5 to 2.03×10-4  cm2  V-1 s-1 depending on channel lengths.

Spontaneous subcapsular haematoma of the liver is a rare but life-threatening complication of pregnancy. Prevention of maternal and fetal death requires early identification and specialised management. We report three cases of spontaneous liver haematoma in pregnancy from our institution between 2011 and 2018. We conducted a systematic search of online databases using search terms, ('liver' AND 'pregnancy') AND ('haematoma' OR 'rupture') in order to present a narrative review of the literature and a systematic management framework. Our series is the first Australian report of spontaneous subcapsular haematoma in pregnancy with one fetal death in utero but no maternal deaths. Our systematic search of online databases revealed 45 similar reports in the last ten years. Individual patient data were available for 73 cases. The overwhelming majority of these reports were single cases or small case series. We estimate the mean maternal mortality rate to be 15% but fetal mortality was substantially greater than 15% (although data for neonatal outcomes was incomplete). There was one case report of liver transplantation with excellent maternal and fetal outcome. In the last five years, modern diagnostic techniques and therapeutic options have significantly reduced maternal and fetal mortality. Hepatic artery embolisation is a minimally invasive approach under guidance of imaging and is likely to achieve the best maternal and fetal outcomes. Based on our literature review, we have provided a systematic management framework for spontaneous liver haematoma in pregnancy.

The optoelectronic properties of functional π-conjugated organic materials are affected by their ability to self-assemble within thin films of devices. There are limited reports that demonstrate the positive impact of self-assembly on the photovoltaic performance of organic solar cells. Here, we demonstrate that hydrogen-bonded supramolecular arrays of a cyanopyridone-based oligothiophene donor, CP6, show notable improvement in photovoltaic performance upon self-assembly into a nanofibrous network. The honeycomb-like blend network exhibited higher hole mobility, leading to efficient charge generation and transport. The photovoltaic performance of CP6 was superior to that of two structural analogues, CP5 and CP1, and was attributed to the enhanced capability of CP6 to self-assemble into a film morphology favorable for BHJ devices. The BHJ devices comprising CP6 and the conventional fullerene acceptor (PC71BM) exhibited an efficiency of 7.26%, which is greater than that of CP5 (5.19%) and CP1 (3.11%) and is among the best-performing, cyanopyridone-based oligothiophene donors described to date.
