RESUMO

A new one-pot synthesis of imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-fused 1,3-benzodiazepine derivatives via a sequential GBB-3CR/Pd(II)-catalyzed azide-isocyanide coupling/cyclization process was developed. The Groebke-Blackburn-Bienaymé three-component reactions (GBB-3CR) of 2-aminopyridine, 2-azidobenzaldehydes, and isocyanides in the presence of a catalytic amount of p-toluenesulfonic acid gave azide intermediates without separation. The reaction was followed by using another molecule of isocyanides to produce imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-fused 1,3-benzodiazepine derivatives in good yields by the Pd(II)-catalyzed azide-isocyanide coupling/cyclization reaction. The synthetic approach produces novel nitrogen-fused polycyclic heterocycles under mild reaction conditions. The preliminary biological evaluation demonstrated that compound 6a inhibited glioma cells efficiently, suggesting potentially broad applications of the approach for synthesis and medicinal chemistry.

Deep geological disposal of high-level radioactive waste is a feasible method for solving the problem of spent fuel storage in China. High-level radioactive waste releases heat during the decay process, which increases the temperature of the surrounding rock in the repository, resulting in a significant increase in radon concentration. In this study, the surrounding rock (granite) of a high-level radioactive waste repository was taken as the research object and, based on the similarity principle, an orthogonal test designed. Similar materials of uranium-containing granite were prepared in the laboratory and the physical and mechanical properties and cumulative radon concentration of granite samples assessed under different temperatures (25, 50, 100, 150, and 200 °C). The results showed that, with increased temperature, the compressive and tensile strengths of samples gradually increased and their pore volume gradually decreased. After heat treatment, the longitudinal wave velocity and thermal conductivity of samples decreased linearly with increased temperature. The radon exhalation rate first increased and then decreased, with the rate reaching a maximum at 100 °C. The radon exhalation rate of single-sided and double-sided samples was 0.00914 and 0.00460 Bq·m-2·s-1, respectively. When the temperature was 25-100 °C, the dominant stage was pore water. The radon exhalation rates of samples were positively correlated with compressive and tensile strengths and negatively correlated with pore volume, longitudinal wave velocity, and thermal conductivity. The temperature of 100-200 °C was range of the dominant stage of pore structure. The conclusions obtained in this study can provide theoretical support for radon reduction and radon control of granite in high temperature environments.

RESUMO

A new one-pot preparation of 4-tetrazolyl-3,4-dihydroquinazolines has been reported. The Ugi-azide reactions of 2-azidobenzaldehydes, amines, trimethylsilyl azide, and isocyanides produced azide intermediates without separation, which were treated with isocyanides to give 4-tetrazolyl-3,4-dihydroquinazoline derivatives through a sequential Palladium-catalyzed azide-isocyanide cross-coupling/cyclization reaction in moderate to good yields. The biological evaluation demonstrated that compound 6c inhibited breast cancer cells well and displayed broad applications for synthesis and medicinal chemistry.

Keggin-type phosphotungstic acid (HPW) supported on imidazolyl-activated carbon (AC-COIMI-HPW) catalysts was prepared, which was used to catalyze the oxidation of benzyl alcohol with aqueous H2O2. In the presence of AC-COIMI-HPW, the benzyl alcohol conversion of 90.2% with 91.8% selectivity of benzaldehyde was obtained at 90°C for 6 h in an acetonitrile aqueous solution. The catalyst exhibited an outstanding performance for the oxidation of various benzyl alcohols and aliphatic alcohols. In addition, the catalyst could be easily recovered and reused five times without significant deactivation. The characterization results showed that HPW was chemically bonded on the surface of the carbon material through an ionic bond. It is proposed that the combination of the imidazole cation with the HPW anion could not only tune the redox catalytic properties of the PW anion but also enhance the compatibility of the catalyst in the reaction medium, thereby improving the catalytic performance.

RESUMO

A series of tetraimidazolium salts with different anions was prepared and applied in the isomerization of ß-pinene oxide. After examining the activity of different catalysts, a remarkable enhancement of the selectivity of perillyl alcohol (47 %) was obtained over [PEimi][HNO3 ]4 under mild reaction conditions and using DMSO as the solvent. Furthermore, noncovalent interactions between solvent molecules and the catalyst were found by FT-IR spectroscopy and confirmed by computational chemistry. The homogeneous catalyst showed excellent stability and was reused up to six times without significant loss.

RESUMO

Low-resolution (LR) of face images significantly decreases the performance of face recognition. To address this problem, we present a super-resolution method that uses nonlinear mappings to infer coherent features that favor higher recognition of the nearest neighbor (NN) classifiers for recognition of single LR face image. Canonical correlation analysis is applied to establish the coherent subspaces between the principal component analysis (PCA) based features of high-resolution (HR) and LR face images. Then, a nonlinear mapping between HR/LR features can be built by radial basis functions (RBFs) with lower regression errors in the coherent feature space than in the PCA feature space. Thus, we can compute super-resolved coherent features corresponding to an input LR image according to the trained RBF model efficiently and accurately. And, face identity can be obtained by feeding these super-resolved features to a simple NN classifier. Extensive experiments on the Facial Recognition Technology, University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, and Olivetti Research Laboratory databases show that the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art face recognition algorithms for single LR image in terms of both recognition rate and robustness to facial variations of pose and expression.
