RESUMO

Wound healing symptoms in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) are frequently problematic, potentially resulting in complications. In order to tackle this concern, a state-of-the-art rehabilitation programme was created, which incorporated telehealth, virtual reality and robotics in an effort to optimize wound healing in patients with coronary heart disease. The purpose of this research was to assess the efficacy of a rehabilitation programme that utilized cutting-edge technology in enhancing the outcomes of wound recovery for individuals diagnosed with (CHD). Data from 120 CHD patients who participated in this longitudinal randomized controlled trial of a specialized rehabilitation programme intended to promote wound repair were utilized in a cross-sectional analysis. Anthropometric measurements, sociodemographical factors, exercise capacity and the progression of wound recovery were gathered as data. The research participants were primarily comprised of older males from various socioeconomic backgrounds. Age, gender, BMI, socio-educational orientation, physical activity, identified regulation and identified regulation were all significant determinants of wound healing. The significance of customized strategies in cardiac rehabilitation programmes that aim to achieve favourable wound healing outcomes is underscored by these results. In conclusion, this study emphasized the importance of incorporating unique patient attributes when designing technologically advanced rehabilitation protocols aimed at facilitating wound recovery in patients with coronary heart disease. Personalized interventions that consider these variables could potentially result in improved outcomes for wound healing among this particular group of patients.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to remove occlusal veneers of varied thicknesses and compositions by Er:Yag laser in vitro and analyze the interfacial microstructure between veneers and tooth that irradiated by laser, by which experimental evidence could be provided to support the non-invasive removal of occlusal veneerby laser. METHODS: Fresh mandibular premolars extracted for orthodontic requirements were collected for tooth preparation. Three kinds of ceramic materials (Vita Suprinity, Vita Mark Ⅱ, and Upcera Hyramic) were selected to fabricate occlusal veneer with different thicknesses (1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 mm). One week later, Er:Yag laser (2.5 W and 3.5 W) was used to irradiate and remove the occlusal veneer and recorded the timespan. After the removal operation, the micro-morphologies of samples were examined by scanning electron microscope. RESULTS: Upcera Hyramic veneer failed to be removed (>20 min); the operation span at 2.5 W, Vita Suprinity (96.0 s±16.0 s) was longer than Vita MarkⅡ(84.5 s±19.5 s) in the 1.0 mm group (P<0.05), and Vita Suprinity (246.5 s±13.5 s) was longer than Vita MarkⅡ(170.0 s±14.0 s) in the 1.5 mm group (P<0.05). At 3.5 W, Vita Suprinity (381.0 s±24.0 s) was longer than Vita MarkⅡ(341.5 s±26.5 s) in the 2.0 mm group. CONCLUSIONS: Increasing laser power could shorten the operation span and facilitate the removal of occlusal veneers with the same thickness and composition. The occlusal veneer was sustained when insufficient laser power was applied. With the same laser power and ceramic thickness, laser penetration could interfere with the integral of the ceramic structure when the laser interacted with the bonding layer. With the same ceramic composition and laser power, the operation span and laser power increased with the thickness of the occlusal veneer. However, the laser was incapable of removing occlusal resin veneer directly.

RESUMO

Periodontitis is a prevalent chronic inflammatory disease. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been revealed to play roles in the inflammatory response. Hence, this work aimed to explore the role and mechanism of circ_0062491 in periodontitis progression. Human periodontal ligament cells (PDLCs) were isolated from the periodontal ligament (PDL) of the healthy teeth with orthodontic requirement after tooth extraction. In vitro experiments were conducted by cell counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assay, flow cytometry, Western blot, and ELISA to determine cell viability, apoptosis, and inflammatory response. The binding between miR-498 and circ_0062491 or SOCS6 was confirmed using dual-luciferase reporter and RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) assays. Circ_0062491 expression was decreased in periodontitis and LPS-induced PDLCs. Restoration of circ_0062491 attenuated LPS-induced apoptosis and inflammation in PDLCs in vitro. Mechanistically, circ_0062491 functioned as a sponge for miR-498, and miR-498 directly targeted SOCS6. Rescue experiments showed that miR-498 up-regulation reversed the protective action of circ_0062491 on PDLCs under LPS treatment. Moreover, silencing of miR-498 protected PDLCs from LPS-induced apoptosis and inflammation, which were abolished by SOCS6 knockdown. Circ_0062491 protected PDLCs from LPS-induced apoptosis and inflammation, suggesting a new target for the amelioration of periodontitis patients.

RESUMO

Objective: To explore and analyze the rehabilitation effect of neurology nursing on stroke patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) and its influence on quality of life and negative emotion score. Methods: In this experiment, 110 stroke patients with DM diagnosed and treated in our hospital from 2018 to 2020 were randomly selected and assigned to the study group (SG) and the control group (CG) according to different nursing methods, with 55 cases in each group. In SG, they were given neurology nursing. In CG, they were given routine nursing. The rehabilitation efficacy, quality of life, and negative emotion scores were compared between the two groups. Results: Compared with the CG, the levels of fasting blood glucose, 2 h postprandial blood glucose, and urinary microalbumin in SG were obviously better after treatment. In SG, the proportion of patients with basic recovery and significant improvement after treatment was higher, and the proportion of patients without treatment effect was significantly lower. Overall, the nursing effect of the SG after treatment was better than that of the CG. There was no striking difference in the quality of life and Morisky scores between the two groups before nursing intervention (P > 0.05), but the quality of life and Morisky scores of patients in SG were obviously higher than those in CG after nursing intervention. After nursing intervention, SAS and SDS scores of patients in SG were obviously lower than those of patients in CG, and patients in SG were less affected by negative emotions. Questionnaires were used to investigate the satisfaction of patients in both groups, and the results showed that the satisfaction of patients in SG was higher (all P < 0.05). Conclusion: Neurology nursing has better clinical efficacy for stroke patients with DM and has obvious rehabilitation effect. The quality of life and negative emotion score of patients are better, which is worthy of extensive clinical promotion and application.

RESUMO

Earlier electroencephalographic studies have compared attractive and unattractive faces and between faces with other objects, such as flowers, without revealing if a recognition memory bias toward faces and flowers exists or whether humans exhibit enhanced specific components toward all attractive objects or only toward attractive faces. For objects with similar degrees of attractiveness, we sought to determine if the N170, P1, and N250 reflect upon the attractiveness of faces and flowers and demonstrated by comparing event-related potentials of humans' different perceptual mechanisms recognizing high attractive faces and high attractive flowers. The repeated high attractive faces tended to elicit a larger N170. Simultaneously, the P1 was preferentially associated with the repeated high attractive flowers, but both indicated that the repetitive enhancement effect only occurred on repeated attractive faces. Thus, differences existed in the perceptual mechanisms for processing repeated high attractive faces and repeated high attractive flowers. However, there was no significant difference in N250 between repeated faces and repeated flowers or between high attractive faces and high attractive flowers. Consequently, high attractive faces and high attractive flowers capture the beholder's memory bias in different processing stages. The N170 and P1 components are affected by attractiveness, thereby demonstrating the differences between human perceptual mechanisms in recognizing high attractive faces and objects.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of GAO's neck acupuncture combined with swallowing rehabilitation on swallowing function and quality of life in patients with post-stroke pseudobulbar palsy. METHODS: One hundred patients were randomly assigned in to an observation group and a control group, 50 cases in each one. The patients in the control group were treated with basic pharmaceutical treatment, including neurotrophy medication and free radical scavenging medication as well as swallowing rehabilitation; the patients in the observation group, on the basis of those in the control group, were treated with GAO's neck acupuncture at Fengchi (GB 20), Yiming (EX-HN 14), Gongxue (Extra), Lianquan (CV 23), Wai Jinjin Yuye (Extra), Tunyan (Extra), Zhiqiang (Extra), Fayin (Extra), once a day, five times a week for continuous eight weeks. The Repetitive saliva-swallowing test (RSST), standardized swallowing assessment (SSA) and swallow quality-of-life questionnaire (SWAL-QOL) before and after treatment in the two groups were observed; the relationship between disease location and frequency and efficacy of GAO's neck acupuncture was explored in the observation group. RESULTS: After treatment, the RSST, SSA and SWAL-QOL were superior to those before treatment (all P<0.01), with more significant results in the observation group (all P<0.01). The total effective rate was 91.7% (44/48) in the observation group, which was superior to 75.5% (37/49) in the control group (P<0.01). The frequency of disease onset was one in 11 patients and 2 and above in 37 patients in the observation group, and the efficacy of one onset of disease was 100.0% (11/11), which was superior to two and above of onset 89.2% (33/37, P<0.01). The number of patients with disease location at cortex and subcortex was 21, while that at capsula interna and basal ganglia was 27 in the observation group, the efficacy of two was similar (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS: GAO's neck acupuncture combined with swallowing rehabilitation could effectively improve dysphagia and quality of life in patients with post-stroke pseudobulbar palsy. No correlation of lesion locations on acupuncture efficacy is observed, while onset frequency is inversely proportional to efficacy.

RESUMO

Atherosclerosis is a chronic progressive inflammatory disease characterized by the accumulation of lipid contents in arterial walls. Previous studies suggest participation of Toll-like receptors (TLRs) in lipid deposition and inflammatory response in vascular wall. The triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 1 (TREM-1) is a cell surface receptor of the immunoglobulin superfamily, which amplifies signal transduction of TLR pathway and enhances immune response to microbial infections. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of the oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL) on the expression of the TREM-1, as well as its engagement in proinflammatory cytokine production and foam cell formation in RAW264.7 mice macrophages. oxLDL enhanced TREM-1 and TLR-4, but not TLR-2 gene expression in macrophages; furthermore, silencing TREM-1 expression by short hairpin interfering RNA inhibited lipid phagocytosis and proinflammatory tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) as well as interleukin-6 (IL-6) production in macrophages; moreover, application of synthetic antagonist, LP-17 polypeptide, reduced IL-6 production upon oxLDL stimulation in vitro and in vivo. In conclusion, in macrophages, oxLDL enhanced expression of TREM-1, which amplifies the innate immune response of TLR pathway; activation of TREM-1 contributes to atherogenesis process by enhancing proinflammatory cytokine production and foam cell formation.

RESUMO

Many applications proposed for magnetic silica nanofibers require their assembly into a cellular membrane structure. The feature to keep structure stable upon large deformation is crucial for a macroscopic porous material which functions reliably. However, it remains a key issue to realize robust flexibility in two-dimensional (2D) magnetic silica nanofibrous networks. Here, we report that the combination of electrospun silica nanofibers with zein dip-coating can lead to the formation of flexible, magnetic, and hierarchical porous silica nanofibrous membranes (SNM). The 290 nm diameter silica nanofibers act as templates for the uniform anchoring of nickel ferrite nanoparticles (size of 50 nm). Benefiting from the homogeneous and stable nanofiber-nanoparticle composite structure, the resulting magnetic SNM can maintain their structure integrity under repeated bending as high as 180° and can facilely recover. The unique hierarchical structure also provides this new class of silica membrane with integrated properties of ultralow density, high porosity, large surface area, good magnetic responsiveness, robust dye adsorption capacity, and effective emulsion separation performance. Significantly, the synthesis of such fascinating membranes may provide new insight for further application of silica in a self-supporting, structurally adaptive, and 2D membrane form.
