RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Growing focus on patient-centred care emphasizes humanistic skills and clinical narrative competence in nursing, particularly in assisted reproductive nursing. However, there is limited evidence to suggest the levels of nurse' clinical narrative competence and humanistic care ability. This study aimed to investigate the clinical narrative competence and humanistic care ability of nurse specialists in assisted reproductive technology (ART) in China. METHODS: This cross-sectional study included nurses who obtained the ART specialist nurse certificate after nurse training in Zhejiang province assisted reproductive technology specialist nurse training base between 2017 and 2022. A demographic questionnaire, the Caring Ability Inventory (CAI) and Narrative Competence Scale (NCS) were used for data collection. Multivariate linear regression analysis was used to explore risk factors. RESULTS: A total of 122 participants (120 females, with a mean age of 33.35 ± 5.00 years) were included (response rate = 82.43%). NCS score and CAI score was 143.39 ± 19.24 (range: 27-189) and 198.42 ± 19.51 (range: 37-259) among nurse specialists in assisted reproductive technology, respectively. Multivariate linear regression analysis indicated that professional title (ß = 20.003, 95%CI: 3.271-36.735, P = 0.020), and the CAI (ß = 0.342, 95%CI: 0.180-0.540, P < 0.001) was independently associated with NCS. Head Nurse/ Team Leader/ Clinical Faculty had significantly higher CAI score than nurse (P = 0.006). CONCLUSIONS: The clinical narrative competence and caring ability of nurse specialists in assisted reproductive technology was considered sufficient. Professional titles and work position were associated with clinical narrative competence. Enhancing clinical narrative competence can be considered as an effective strategy for promoting humanistic care ability. TRIAL REGISTRATION: Not applicable.

RESUMO

Future renewable energy supply and green, sustainable environmental development rely on various types of catalytic reactions. Copper single-atom catalysts (Cu SACs) are attractive due to their distinctive electronic structure (3d orbitals are not filled with valence electrons), high atomic utilization, and excellent catalytic performance and selectivity. Despite numerous optimization studies are conducted on Cu SACs in terms of energy conversion and environmental purification, the coupling among Cu atoms-support interactions, active sites, and catalytic performance remains unclear, and a systematic review of Cu SACs is lacking. To this end, this work summarizes the recent advances of Cu SACs. The synthesis strategies of Cu SACs, metal-support interactions between Cu single atoms and different supports, modification methods including modification for carriers, coordination environment regulating, site distance effect utilizing, and dual metal active center catalysts constructing, as well as their applications in energy conversion and environmental purification are emphatically introduced. Finally, the opportunities and challenges for the future Cu SACs development are discussed. This review aims to provide insight into Cu SACs and a reference for their optimal design and wide application.

RESUMO

Self-sensing soft robotics that mimic the proprioception and exteroception abilities of natural biological systems have shown great potential in challenging applications. However, current add-on strategies that simply combine sensors with actuators by post processing generally suffer from poor compatibility in mechanical properties, interfacing problems, complex manufacturing, and high cost. Herein, we present knitted soft robotics with build-in textile-integrated multimodal sensors, where the knit structure is used not only as a physical actuating layer but also as a sensing functional component. Based on different knit-stitch arrangements, an all-in-one knitted electronic skin with functions of neurons, sensing, and actuation in a single knit-structured fabric layer is constructed. The knitted electronic skin is then integrated into knitted soft robotics, enabling a proprioceptive sense of actuation deformation and an exteroceptive perception of ambient stimuli with minimized interferences for actuation. In addition, the tuck stitches serve as an anisotropic strain-limiting layer to increase the actuating energy efficiency, which resolves the key conflict of softness and volumetric power density in soft actuators. This design strategy provides a convenient, low-cost, and customized method to bring about structural and functional integrability into soft actuators, greatly extending the adaptability of current soft robotics for real-world applications.

RESUMO

Background: Alcohol dependence (AD) is a complex addictive disorder with a high relapse rate. Previous studies have shown that both repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) may be effective for AD, and we aim to explore more effective treatment options to reduce relapse rates for AD. Materials and methods: A total of 263 AD patients were recruited. They were divided into six groups according to the location and the type of rTMS: left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), right DLPFC, sham stimulation, and whether they received CBT treatment: with a fixed schedule (C1) and without a fixed plan (C0). There were included in sham rTMS + C0 group (n = 50), sham rTMS + C1 group (n = 37), right rTMS + C0 group (n = 45), right rTMS + C1 group (n = 42), left rTMS + C0 group (n = 49), left rTMS + C1 group (n = 40). We used obsessive compulsive drinking scale (OCDS), visual analogue scale (VAS), alcohol dependence scale (ADS), montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA), generalized anxiety disorder-7 (GAD-7), patient health questionnaire-9 items (PHQ-9), and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) to assess alcohol cravings, alcohol dependence, cognition, anxiety, depression, and sleep quality. They were followed up and evaluated for relapse. Results: The sham rTMS + C0 group relapse rate was significantly higher than the right rTMS + C1 group (P = 0.006), the left rTMS + C0 group (P = 0.031), the left rTMS + C1 group (P = 0.043). The right rTMS + C0 group showed significantly higher relapse rate compared to the right rTMS + C1 group (P = 0.046). There was no significant difference in relapse rates between other groups. The repeated-measures ANOVA showed an interaction effect between group and time was significant in the rate of patient health questionnaire-9 items (PHQ-9) scale reduction (P = 0.020). Logistic analysis indicated that smoking and alcohol consumption were independent determinants of relapse (P < 0.05). At 24 weeks of follow-up, Kaplan-Meier survival analysis reveal that there is statistically significant relapse rate between six groups (P = 0.025), left rTMS + C1 group has the best treatment effect for alcohol dependent patients. Cox regression analysis confirmed that current smoking, total cholesterol, and total bilirubin (TBIL) level were risk factors of relapse (P < 0.05). Conclusion: This study is the first to suggest that the combination of rTMS and CBT may be a potentially effective treatment for reducing relapse.

RESUMO

Liver cirrhosis is a clinical chronic developmental liver disease, which is caused by long-term or repeated effects of liver dysfunction, and there are more and more cases of epileptic seizures in patients with liver cirrhosis and HEV infection. This article aims to study how to analyze epileptic seizures in patients with liver cirrhosis and overlapping HEV infection based on deep multimodal fusion technology. This article proposes a deep learning neural network algorithm based on deep multimodal fusion technology, and how to use this algorithm to automatically detect and classify epileptic seizures. The data in the experiment in this article show that the prevalence of epilepsy accounts for 1% of the world's population, about 56.7 million people, and 1 in 25 people may have an epileptic seizure at some time in their lives, and in each person's life, the probability of seizures due to various reasons is 10%. In 2016, the proportion of males with cirrhosis reached 16%, females reached 8%, and males were 8% higher than females, which is a full double. The test results show that with the increase in patients with cirrhosis and overlapping HEV infection, the frequency of epileptic seizures is also getting higher and higher, indicating that the frequency of epileptic seizures has been increased in patients with cirrhosis and overlapping HEV infection. Therefore, it is imperative to analyze the epileptic seizures of patients with liver cirrhosis and overlapping HEV infection based on deep multimodal fusion technology.

RESUMO

This study aimed to analyse the relationship between perceived social support and marital quality in balanced translocation patients and their spouses undergoing a preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) treatment cycle in China. The authors assessed the actor and partner effects of perceived social support on marital quality in patient-spouse dyads using a dyadic analysis approach. In total, 59 couples were assessed using self-report questionnaires for marital quality and perceived social support. There were significant differences in marital quality between patients and their spouses (p=.0025) based on the APIM (actor-partner interdependence model) analyses. The perceived social support of both patients (p=.0076) and spouses (p<.001) had a significant effect on individual marital quality for actor effects. Partner effects showed that patients' perceived social support had a significant effect on spouses' marital quality (p=.0156) and the spouses' perceived social support had a significant effect on patients' marital quality (p=.0084). The findings indicate that the level of perceived social support affected both his/her own marital quality and that of his/her spouse.Impact StatementWhat is already known on this subject? Infertility and reproductive treatments affect both partners, that is, the couple as a unit and have a negative impact on an individual's marital satisfaction and social relationships. What do the results of this study add? There are significant differences in marital quality between balanced translocation patients and their spouses. Perceived social support significantly correlated with marital quality in both the actor and partner effects. What are the implications of these findings for clinical practice and/or further research? Health professionals should provide couple-based interventions involving both patients and spouses throughout the PGT treatment to improve perceived social support, thereby improving their marital quality.

RESUMO

Background: Long-term excessive use of morphine leads to addictive diseases and affects cognitive function. Cognitive performance is associated with genetic characteristics.MiR-124 plays a critical regulatory role in neurogenesis, synaptic development, brain plasticity, and the use of addictive substances. As a scaffold protein, IQGAP1 affects learning and memory dose-dependent. However, the role of miR-124 and its target protein as potential addiction biomarkers and the impact on cognitive function have not been fully explored. Method: A total of 40 patients with morphine dependence and 40 cases of healthy people were recruited. We collected basic and clinical information about the two groups. The Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7), Patient Health Questionnaire-9(PHQ-9), Montreal Cognition Assessment Scale (MoCA), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) were used to assess the severity of depression, anxiety, depressive symptoms, cognitive dysfunction, and sleep quality. Results: Compared to the control group, the morphine-dependent group had higher GAD-7, PHQ-9, PSQI scores, and more elevated miR-124 levels but lower MOCA scores and IQGAP1 levels. MiR-124, IQGAP1, the average intake last year were related to OASI scores.MiR-124, IQGAP1, PHQ-9 were associated with MOCA scores. In the multiple regression model, the levels of miR-124 and IQGAP1 were independent factors influencing the severity of morphine dependence. The level of miR-124 was an independent factor influencing the severity of cognitive impairment in patients with morphine dependence. In addition, the luciferase report confirmed that IQGAP1 mRNA is the direct target of miR-124. Conclusion: MiR-124 and its target protein IQGAP1 are involved in the regulation of addiction and cognitive function in patients with morphine dependence.

RESUMO

Fiber-based artificial muscles with excellent actuation performance are gaining great attention as soft materials for flexible actuators; however, current advances in fiber-based artificial muscles generally suffer from high cost, harsh stimulation regimes, limiting deformations, chemical toxicity, or complex manufacturing processing, which hinder the widespread application of those artificial muscles in engineering and practical usage. Herein, a facile cross-scale processing strategy is presented to construct commercially available nontoxic viscose fibers into fast responsive and humidity-driven yarn artificial muscles with a recorded torsional stroke of 1752° cm-1 and a maximum rotation speed up to 2100 rpm, which are comparable to certain artificial muscles made from carbon-based composite materials. The underlying mechanism of such outstanding actuation performance that begins to form at a mesoscale is discussed by theoretical modeling and microstructure characterization. The as-prepared yarn artificial muscles are further scaled up to large-sized fabric muscles through topological weaving structures by integrating different textile technologies. These fabric muscles extend the simple motion of yarn muscles into higher-level diverse deformations without any composite system, complex synthetic processing, and component design, which enables the development of new fiber-based artificial muscles for versatile applications, such as smart textiles and intelligent systems.

RESUMO

The aim of this study was to investigate the therapeutic efficacy and safety of transplanting human umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hUCB-MSCs) in the treatment of cartilage injury. First, the articular cartilage defect model in rabbits was constructed. Then, the identified hUCB-MSCs and rabbit bone marrow stem cells (rBM-MSCs) were transplanted into the bone defect, respectively, and the cartilage repair effect was observed by hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining and immunohistochemistry. Besides, the glycosaminoglycan (GAG) content and biomechanics of the restoration area were also evaluated. In our study, hUCB-MSCs and rBM-MSCs exhibited typical MSC characteristics, with positive expressions of CD73, CD105, and CD90 and negative for CD45, CD34, CD14, and HLA-DR. After the transplantation of hUCB-MSCs and rBM-MSCs, the overall quality of cartilage tissue was significantly improved, and the recipients did not show significant side effects in general. However, the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-13 (MMP-13) in the de novo tissues of the hUCB-MSCs and rBM-MSCs groups was both increased, indicating that the novel tissues may have some potential osteoarthritic changes. In conclusion, our results suggest the therapeutic effect of hUCB-MSCs transplantation in cartilage regeneration, providing a promising future in the clinical treatment of cartilage injury.

RESUMO

V2O5-WO3/TiO2 as a commercial selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst usually used at middle-high temperatures was modified by loading of MnOx for the purpose of enhancing its performance at lower temperatures. Manganese oxides were loaded onto V-W/Ti monolith by the methods of impregnation (I), precipitation (P), and in-situ growth (S), respectively. SCR activity of each modified catalyst was investigated at temperatures in the range of 100-340 °C. Catalysts were characterized by specific surface area and pore size determination (BET), X-ray diffraction (XRD), temperature programmed reduction (TPR), etc. Results show that the loading of MnOx remarkably enhanced the SCR activity at a temperature lower than 280 °C. The catalyst prepared by the in-situ growth method was found to be most active for SCR.

RESUMO

Effect of CXCL8 gene silencing-mediated JAK-STAT signaling pathway on epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of human cutaneous melanoma cells was explored. Eighty patients with cutaneous melanoma were enrolled in the study. Cells were transfected accordingly and divided into five groups: The blank group (human cutaneous melanoma cells), NC group (human cutaneous melanoma cells + blank vector plasmid transfection), CXCL8 siRNA group (human cutaneous melanoma cells + CXCL8 silent expression vector plasmid transfection), AG490 group (human cutaneous melanoma cells + JAK-STAT signal pathway inhibitor transfection), CXCL8 siRNA + AG490 group (human cutaneous melanoma cells + JAK-STAT signaling pathway inhibitor + CXCL8 silent expression vector plasmid transfection). The expression levels of CXCL8, JAK2, STAT3, epithelial cadherin (E-cadherin), neurotrophic cadherin (N-cadherin) and vimentin in tissues and cells were detected by RT-qPCR and western blot analysis. CCK-8 and flow cytometry were used to detect cell proliferation and apoptosis. Compared with adjacent normal tissues, the expression of E-cadherin in human cutaneous melanoma tissues was significantly decreased, whereas the expression of CXCL8, JAK2, STAT3, vimentin and N-cadherin was significantly increased (P<0.05). Compared with the blank group, CXCL8 siRNA group and CXCL8 siRNA + AG490 group had significantly lower expression of CXCL8 (P<0.05). Compared with the blank group, the expression levels of JAK2, STAT3, vimentin and N-cadherin in CXCL8 siRNA group, AG490 group and CXCL8 siRNA + AG490 group were decreased, the expression of E-cadherin was increased, the cell proliferation ability was decreased and apoptosis was increased (P<0.05). Compared with CXCL8 siRNA group, the expression of JAK2, STAT3, vimentin and N-cadherin in CXCL8 siRNA + AG490 group were significantly decreased, the expression of E-cadherin was significantly increased, cell proliferation ability was decreased and apoptosis was increased (P<0.05). In conclusion, CXCL8 gene expression silencing may inhibit EMT and cell proliferation while promoting cell apoptosis of human cutaneous melanoma cells by inhibiting the activation of JAK-STAT signaling pathway.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To investigate the relationship between serum/follicular fluid fetuin-B levels and fertilization outcomes in conventional IVF cycles. METHODS: A prospective cohort study of conventional IVF treatments including 78 cycles with low fertilization rates (two pronuclei [2PN] rate < 30%; LF group) and 104 cycles performed during the same period with 2PN rate > 70% (high fertilization group, HF). To calculate the required sample size, a two-sample t test power analysis was applied to data from our pilot study, using PASS 11.0 software. Fetuin-B was measured using a commercial sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. RESULTS: Serum fetuin-B and follicular fluid fetuin-B were positively correlated (r = 0.703, P < 0.001). Compared to the HF group, the LF group had significantly lower levels of fetuin-B, both in serum (5.81 ± 1.53 vs. 7.19 ± 1.42, P < 0.001) and follicular fluid (5.06 ± 1.29 vs. 6.16 ± 1.52, P < 0.001). The serum fetuin-B level from cycles with polypronuclear (PPN) zygotes was significantly lower when compared to cycles without PPN zygotes (6.82 ± 1.65 vs. 6.10 ± 1.43, P = 0.006). However, serum fetuin-B level was not correlated with preimplantation embryo development or clinical pregnancy. CONCLUSION: Serum fetuin-B level is correlated with fertilization rate in conventional IVF and it may be used as a predictive marker of fertilization in IVF treatment.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the relationship between serum/follicular fluid fetuin B levels and outcome of in vitro fertilization (IVF). METHODS: Infertility women (28 with low fertilization rates, 44 with normal fertilization rates) receiving IVF in Women's Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine during June and December 2016 were enrolled in the study. Serum/follicular fluid fetuin B levels were measured with ELISA method. Correlations of serum and follicular fetuin B level with fertilization outcome of IVF were analyzed with Pearson correlation coefficient and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. RESULTS: A positive correlation between serum fetuin B and follicular fluid fetuin B levels was observed (r=0.675, P<0.01). Both serum and follicular fluid fetuin B levels in women with low fertilization rates of IVF were lower than those in women with normal fertilization rates[(6.09±1.31) µg/mL vs. (7.13±1.47) µg/mL, t=3.050, P<0.05; (5.13±0.96)µg/mL vs. (6.22±1.33) µg/mL, t=3.755, P<0.01]. ROC analysis showed that the area under curve (AUC) of serum fetuin B level in predicting fertilization rate was 0.832 (95% CI:0.729-0.934, P<0.01), and 6.08 µg/mL could be used as cut-off value. CONCLUSIONS: Serum fetuin B level is correlated with follicular fluid fetuin B level, and it may be used for predicting the fertilization outcome of IVF.

RESUMO

Genomic integration of transgene by lentiviral vector has been proved an efficient method to produce single-transgenic animals. But it failed to create multi-gene transgenic offspring. Here, we have exploited lentivirus to generate the double-transgenic piglets through the female germline. The recombinant lentivirus containing fluorescent proteins genes (DsRed1 and Venus) were injected into the perivitelline space of 2-cell stage in vitro porcine embryos. Compared to control group, there was no significantly decreased in the proportion of blastocysts, and the two fluorescent protein genes were co-expressed in almost all the injected embryos. Total of 32 injected in vitro embryos were transferred to 2 recipients. One recipient gave birth of three live offspring, and one female piglet was identified as genomic transgene integration by PCR analysis. Subsequently, the female transgenic founder was mated naturally with a wild-type boar and gave birth of two litters of total 23 F(1) generation piglets, among which Venus and DsRed1 genes were detected in 11 piglets and 10 kinds of organs by PCR and RT-PCR respectively. The co-expression of two fluorescent proteins was visible in four different frozen tissue sections from the RT-PCR positive piglets, and 3 to 5 copies of the transgenes were detected to be integrated into the second generation genome by southern blotting analysis. The transgenes were heritable and stably integrated in the F(1) generation. The results indicated for the first time that lentiviral vector combined with natural mating has the potential to become a simple and practical technology to create germline double-transgenic livestock or biomedical animals.

RESUMO

There are currently no studies that determine the total burden that tendinopathy places on patients and society. A systematic search was conducted to understand the impact of tendinopathy. It demonstrated that the current prevalence is underestimated, particularly in active populations, such as athletes and workers. Search results demonstrate that due to the high prevalence, impact on patients' daily lives and the economic impact due to work-loss, treatments are significantly higher than currently observed. A well-accepted definition by medical professionals and the public will improve documentation and increase awareness, in order to better tackle the disease burden.

RESUMO

In nonlinear science, it is very difficult to find exact interaction solutions among solitons and other kinds of complicated waves such as cnoidal waves and Painlevé waves. Actually, even if for the most well-known prototypical models such as the Kortewet-de Vries (KdV) equation and the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) equation, this kind of problem has not yet been solved. In this paper, the explicit analytic interaction solutions between solitary waves and cnoidal waves are obtained through the localization procedure of nonlocal symmetries which are related to Darboux transformation for the well-known KdV equation. The same approach also yields some other types of interaction solutions among different types of solutions such as solitary waves, rational solutions, Bessel function solutions, and/or general Painlevé II solutions.

RESUMO

Two full-length cDNAs, designated as ZmFtsH2A and ZmFtsH2B, were isolated from maize (Zea mays L.) by suppression subtractive hybridization coupled with in silico cloning approach. The predicted proteins of ZmFtsH2A and ZmFtsH2B both consisted of 677 amino acid residues and displayed high similarity to FtsH2 protease of Arabidopsis thaliana. DNA gel blotting analysis indicated that AtFtsH2-like genes exist as two copies in maize genome. The genomic sequences of ZmFtsH2A and ZmFtsH2B were cloned and the main difference was that the first intron of ZmFtsH2B was much longer than that of ZmFtsH2A. RT-PCR analysis revealed that both genes were constitutively expressed in all examined tissues and the expression level of ZmFtsH2B transcripts was higher than that of ZmFtsH2A. The responses of the two genes in maize seedlings to PEG, cold, high salt, and ABA treatments were compared, and the results showed that ZmFtsH2B transcription in leaves was markedly up-regulated by water deficit stress and ABA treatments while ZmFtsH2A constitutively expressed both in leaves and roots under all tested stressful conditions. Drought tolerance of transgenic tobaccos overexpressing ZmFtsH2A and ZmFtsH2B weren't improved compared to wild-type controls, which indicated that two genes might not be directly involved in plant drought tolerance or the number of functional FtsH heterocomplex might not be increased in this condition. Our current study provides fundamental information for the further investigation of the maize FtsH proteins.
