Antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) is a therapeutic modality that aims to improve payload delivery specificity and reduce systemic toxicity. Considering the complex structure of ADCs, various bioanalytical methods by liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS), ligand binding assay (LBA) and hybrid LBA-LC-MS approaches have been established for ADC characterization and quantification. LCMS-based assays enable drug-antibody ratio (DAR) sensitive quantification of the conjugated payload. Typically, for quantitative, DAR-sensitive, assessment by LC-MS/MS,the conjugated payload is enzymatically liberated and quantified. Despite recent advances in ADC bioanalytical methods, the DAR-sensitive quantification of noncleavable linker ADCs by LC-MS/MS remains challenging. Thus, we developed a novel digestion-free middle-down mass spectrometry (DF-MDMS) using a collision-induced dissociation approach for absolute quantification of conjugated payload from four different ADCs in a biological matrix with minimum sample preparation. These results demonstrate that ADCs with different linker-payload structures can be quantified, including a noncleavable linker ADC, trastuzumab emtansine. It also shows that the assay sensitivity is comparable to the conventional ADC quantification method by linker-payload cleavage using enzyme, while the assay dynamic range depends on factors including payload ionization and dissociation efficiency, DAR and its distribution, and species abundance. By demonstrating absolute quantification of both cleavable and noncleavable linker ADCs, this novel middle-down ADC approach demonstrates its potential application in bioanalysis and analytical characterization, especially for early discovery where high-throughput screening is required as the new approach saves time and resources by not requiring enzymatic digestion for cleavable ADCs or development of anti-payload antibodies for noncleavable linker ADCs.

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with increased bleeding and thrombotic risks. Standard blood tests do not sufficiently quantify these risks. Global coagulation assays (GCAs) provide a more comprehensive assessment of coagulation. Objectives: We aimed to evaluate if GCAs are predictive of spontaneous major bleeding (sMB) in CKD. Methods: Adult patients with CKD (estimated glomerular filtration rate, <30 mL/min/1.73m2) were recruited to this pilot prospective observational study. Testing with GCAs (thromboelastography, overall hemostatic potential, calibrated automated thrombogram, and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1) was performed, and the results were correlated to sMB events. Results: Eighty-seven CKD patients (median age, 67 years; 67.8% male) were included, with median follow-up of 3.1 years. CKD patients demonstrated elevated fibrinogen, factor VIII, and von Willebrand factor antigen levels, while other conventional coagulation test results were within reference intervals. Ten episodes of sMB (11.5%) were captured (3.0/100 person-years), with no significant association demonstrated between sMB and antiplatelet use (P = .36), platelet count (P = .14), or renal function (urea, P = .27; estimated glomerular filtration rate, P = .09). CKD patients with sMB had more hypocoagulable GCA parameters compared with those without sMB. The lowest quartiles of endogenous thrombin potential (subhazard ratio [sHR], 7.11; 95% CI, 1.84-27.45), overall hemostatic potential (sHR, 6.81; 95% CI, 1.77-26.16), and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (sHR, 5.26; 95% CI, 1.55-17.91) were associated with sMB. Conclusion: This pilot study demonstrates that GCAs such as thrombin and fibrin generation may predict sMB risk in patients with CKD, which has potential to be practice-changing. Larger studies are required to validate these findings.

High-performance biocompatible composite materials are gaining attention for their potential in various fields such as neural tissue scaffolds, bio-implantable devices, energy harvesting, and biomechanical sensors. However, these devices currently face limitations in miniaturization, finite battery lifetimes, fabrication complexity, and rigidity. Hence, there is an urgent need for smart and self-powering soft devices that are easily deployable under physiological conditions. Herein, we present a straightforward and efficient fabrication technique for creating flexible/stretchable fiber-based piezoelectric structures using a hybrid nanocomposite of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), reduced graphene oxide (rGO), and barium-titanium oxide (BT). These nanocomposite fibers are capable of converting biomechanical stimuli into electrical signals across various structural designs (knit, braid, woven, and coil). It was found that a stretchable configuration with higher output voltage (4 V) and a power density (87 µW cm-3) was obtained using nanocomposite coiled fibers or knitted fibers, which are ideal candidates for real-time monitoring of physiological signals. These structures are being proposed for practical transition to the development of the next generation of fiber-based biomedical devices. The cytotoxicity and cytocompatibility of nanocomposite fibers were tested on human mesenchymal stromal cells. The obtained results suggest that the developed fibers can be utilized for smart scaffolds and bio-implantable devices.

Uterine leiomyosarcoma (uLMS) is a type of malignant soft-tissue tumor, which is developed from myometrium in the female reproductive system. This disease is difficult to be distinguished from benign uterine leiomyoma in the early stages, but it progresses aggressively and relentlessly. Hence, uLMS has a dismal prognosis and high rates of both misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis. Unfortunately, current studies of uLMS pathogenesis and disease biology are inadequate. uLMS disease models are also very limited, hindering the development of effective therapeutics. In this review, we focus on the pathological molecular biology of uLMS, and systematically review the molecular genetic features, epigenetic variants, experimental models, and clinical research progress of uLMS. We further discuss the development direction and potential needs of uLMS in the fields of tumor evolution, tumor microenvironment, and tumor therapy, with the aim of providing a better understanding of the pathobiological mechanism of uLMS and providing a reference for the development of potential diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

BACKGROUND: The management of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) has benefited from telehealth services. As these services which include teleconsultation services and e-prescriptions are relatively new in Malaysia, the data generated provide an unprecedented opportunity to study medication use patterns for the management of NCDs in the country. We analyze e-prescriptions from a local telehealth service to identify medication use patterns and potential areas to optimize medication use in relation to clinical practice guidelines. METHODS: A cross sectional observational study was conducted by retrieving e-prescription records retrospectively from a telehealth service. 739,482 records from January 2019 to December 2021 were extracted using a designated data collection form. Data cleaning, standardization and data analysis were performed using Python version 3.11. The diagnoses were classified according to the International Classification of Disease 10 (ICD-10), while medications were classified using the Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical (ATC) system. Diagnoses, frequency of use for medication classes and individual medications were analyzed and compared to clinical practice guidelines. RESULTS: The top five NCD diagnoses utilized by the service were hypertension (37.7%), diabetes mellitus (25.1%), ischemic heart disease (24.3%), asthma (14.4%), and dyslipidemia (11.7%). Medications were prescribed mostly in accordance with guideline recommendations. However, angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) were significantly more frequently prescribed compared to angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs). Several medication classes appeared underutilized, including ACEIs in hypertensive patients with diabetes or ischemic heart disease, sodium glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors in diabetic patients with ischemic heart disease, and metformin in patients with diabetes. CONCLUSIONS: Telehealth services are currently being utilized for the management of NCDs. Medication use for the management of NCDs through these services are mostly in accordance with guideline recommendations, but there exist areas that would warrant further investigation to ensure optimal clinical and economic outcomes are achieved.

ETV6::ABL1 is a rare fusion gene that found in MPN, ALL, and AML. It has a complex and diverse formation mechanism due to the reciprocal orientations of the ETV6 and ABL1 genes relative to the centromeres. NPM1 is frequently mutated in adult AML, often accompanied by FLT3-ITD, which suggests molecular synergisms in AML pathogenesis. Previous reports on ETV6::ABL1 mostly focus on FLT3-ITD. In this study, we present a case of AML with ETV6::ABL1, along with NPM1 and FLT3-ITD. The patient showed a rapid increase in primitive cells at the initial stage, along with the presence of immature granulocytes and erythrocytes. Through cytogenetic analysis, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and RNA-seq, we elucidated the mechanism behind the formation of the ETV6::ABL1 fusion gene. Despite conventional chemotherapy failure and rapid tumor proliferation, we attempted to add FLT3 inhibitor sorafenib to the treatment, along with chemotherapy bridging to haploidentical transplantation. After haplo-HSCT, a combination of sorafenib and dasatinib was administered as maintenance therapy. The patient achieved complete remission (CR) and maintained it for 11 months. The intricate genetic landscape observed in this case presents diagnostic dilemmas and therapeutic challenges, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive understanding of its implications for disease classification, risk stratification, and treatment selection.

CAR T-cell therapy is a promising approach for cancer treatment, utilizing a patient's own T-cells (autologous cell) or T-cells from a healthy donor (allogeneic cell) to target and destroy cancer cells. Over the last decade, significant advancements have been made in this field, including the development of novel CAR constructs, improved understanding of biology and mechanisms of action, and expanded clinical applications for treating a wider range of cancers. In this review, we provide an overview of the steps involved in the production of CAR T-cells and their mechanism of action. We also introduce different CAR T-cell therapies available, including their implementation, dosage, administration, treatment cost, efficacy, and resistance. Common side effects of CAR T-cell therapy are also discussed. The CAR T-cell products highlighted in this review are FDA-approved products, which include Kymriah® (tisagenlecleucel), Tecartus® (brexucabtagene autoleucel), Abecma® (Idecabtagene vicleucel), Breyanzi® (lisocabtagene maraleucel), and Yescarta® (axicabtagene ciloleucel). In conclusion, CAR T-cell therapy has made tremendous progress over the past decade and has the potential to revolutionize cancer treatment. This review paper provides insights into the progress, challenges, and future directions of CAR T-cell therapy, offering valuable information for researchers, clinicians, and patients.

Eurycomanone has been identified as the major bioactive compound contributing to Eurycoma longifolia (EL) aphrodisiac activity, however, its mechanism of action remains obscured. Presently, eurycomanone was isolated from EL root extract and its molecular structure was identified. The human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cell line was differentiated into human dopaminergic neuron-like cells. Exogenous dopamine levels from the differentiated SH-SY5Y cells were quantified following the treatment of 5, 10, 15 µM of eurycomanone and 10 µM clorgyline as positive control. Dopamine secretion was significantly increased in a dose-dependent manner, compared to the vehicle control (p < .01) in differentiated SH-SY5Y cells. Dopamine concentration stimulated by 15 µM eurycomanone was significantly higher than clorgyline (p < .05), an inhibitor of monoamine oxidase A that suppresses dopamine catabolism. In conclusion, eurycomanone stimulated dopamine release of human SH-SY5Y neuron-like cells, which could be one of the mechanisms that underpin the aphrodisiac properties of the plant.

This scoping review explores the impact of genetic polymorphisms on the pharmacokinetics and treatment responses of mycophenolic acid (MPA), an immunosuppressant. The study includes 83 articles from 1226 original studies, focusing on transplantation (n = 80) and autoimmune disorders (n = 3). Genetic variants in uridine 5'-diphospho-glucuronosyltransferase (UGT1A9, UGT1A8 and UGT2B7) and transmembrane transporters (ABCC2, SLCO1B1, SLCO1B3 and ABCB1) significantly affected MPA's pharmacokinetics and susceptibility to its adverse effect. Whereas variants in several genes including UGT1A9, UGT2B7, IMPDH1 and IMPDH2 have been associated with a higher risk of transplant rejection. However, there is a lack of studies on MPA's impact on autoimmune disorders and limited research on the Asian population. The findings underscore the need for further research on MPA's impact across different populations and diseases, particularly among other Asian ethnic groups, to advance personalized medicine in MPA therapy.

Chrononutrition, an emerging body of evidence on the relationship between biological rhythms and metabolism, has been established to be associated with glycemic responses. However, the available evidence is inconsistent, due to protocol variations. Therefore, this review aims to summarize the findings on chrononutrition characteristics and their association with glycemic responses among adults. Systematic searches were conducted across six databases (PubMed, EBSCO Host, ProQuest Central, MEDLINE & Ovid, Scopus and Web of Science) to identify all relevant studies published from January 2012. Two reviewers independently screened the abstracts and full-text articles based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Details about population characteristics, study methods and key findings were extracted following the PRISMA-ScR guideline. The quality of selected studies was evaluated using the mixed methods appraisal tool. The searchers identified 49 studies eligible for analysis. The results showed that meal timing, particularly night-time eating and snacking were associated with glycemic responses. Regarding meal regularity, skipping breakfast may affect glycemic responses, but no clear conclusion was drawn about its effect on insulin. The association between meal frequency and glycemic responses was inconclusive. Night fasting duration and restricted eating window are potentially associated with glycemic responses. The current review extensively investigates the association between chrononutrition factors and glycemic responses in adults. However, more prospective cohort and interventional studies are needed to better understand this causal-effect relationship.

Fitness trainers are widely in demand by both commercial fitness centres and individual people. They serve members in one-to-one personal training (PT) or group training (GX) in commercial fitness centres. However, the services provided by fitness trainers have not been consistent across the industry. This service inconsistency has led to an increased doubt about professionalism in conducting safe and correct exercise for the public. No studies have evaluated how fitness trainers make decisions when they curate exercise programs for members. This research utilized a qualitative semi-structured interview method to collect data from 16 fitness trainers in Greater Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Inverview data was verbatim transcribed and analyzed using a theory-driven analysis. The study investigated fitness training professional decision-making processes when they design and precribe fitness execise programming to clients. Using Cognitive Continuum Theory (CCT) as a lens to explore the decision-making processes revealed a dichotomy of decision-making processes for curating personal training and group training. Feedback mechanism in the implementation of personal training was proven to be more personalized than group training. There are four themes in decision-making processed discovered to be impreative characteristics for fitness trainers. The application of CCT allowed further understanding of the implementation of exercise programs for PT and GX training when fitness trainers modified exercise programs.

Thromboembolic diseases including arterial and venous thrombosis are common causes of morbidity and mortality globally. Thrombosis frequently recurs and can also complicate many inflammatory conditions through the process of 'thrombo-inflammation,' as evidenced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Current candidate biomarkers for thrombosis prediction, such as D-dimer, have poor predictive efficacy. This limits our capacity to tailor anticoagulation duration individually and may expose lower risk individuals to undue bleeding risk. Global coagulation assays, such as the Overall Haemostatic Potential (OHP) assay, that investigate fibrin generation and fibrinolysis, may provide a more accurate and functional assessment of hypercoagulability. We present a review of fibrin's critical role as a central modulator of thrombotic risk. The results of our studies demonstrating the OHP assay as a predictive biomarker in venous thromboembolism, chronic renal disease, diabetes mellitus, post-thrombotic syndrome, and COVID-19 are discussed. As a comprehensive and global measurement of fibrin generation and fibrinolytic capacity, the OHP assay may be a valuable addition to future multi-modal predictive tools in thrombosis.

Gluten is a well-known food allergen globally, and it can induce immune responses in celiac- and nonceliac gluten-sensitive patients. The gliadin proteins from gluten have a special amino acid sequence that make it hydrophobic. One way to deal with gluten allergies is to provide a gluten-free diet. The hydrophobic characteristic of gliadin makes gliadin detection more difficult. An analyst needs to use an organic solvent or multiple processes to denature gluten for extraction. Although organic solvents can rapidly extract gluten in a sample, organic solvent also denatures the antibody and induces false biotest results without buffer dilute, and the accuracy will reduce with buffer dilute. An ionic liquid (IL) is a highly modifiable green chemical organic salt. The imidazolium has a cationic structure and is modified with different lengths (C = 0, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 12) of carbon side chains with organic and inorganic anions [methanesulfonate (MSO), Cl-, F-, NO3-, HSO4-, and H2PO4-] to make different kinds of ILs for testing the solubility of gliadin. Different IL/water ratios were used to test the solubility of gluten. We measured the solubility of gliadin in different imidazolium ILs, and the kinetic curve of gliadin dissolved in 1% [C5DMIM][MSO]aq was conducted. We also used circular dichroism spectroscopy and an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to measure the gliadin structure and the effect of binding with an antibody after 1% [C5DMIM][MSO]aq treatment. An 2,3-bis-(2-methoxy-4- nitro-5-sulfophenyl)-2H-tetrazolium-5-carboxanilide (XTT) assay was used to test the toxicity of [C5DMIM][MSO]aq in N2a cells. In our research, 1% [C5DMIM][MSO]aq produced a good solubility of gluten, and it could dissolve more than 3000 ppm of gluten in 5 min. [C5DMIM][MSO]aq did not break down the gluten structure and did not restrict antibody binding to gluten, and more importantly, [C5DMIM][MSO] did not exhibit cell toxicity. In this report, we showed that [C5DMIM][MSO] could be a good extraction solution applied for gluten detection.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains a major global health problem with high incidence and mortality. Diagnosis of HCC at late stages and tumour heterogeneity in patients with different genetic profiles are known factors that complicate the disease treatment. HCC therapy becomes even more challenging in patients with drug resistance such as resistance to sorafenib, which is a common drug used in HCC patients. Sorafenib resistance can further aggravate HCC by regulating various oncogenic pathways such as autophagy and nuclear factor-kappa Beta (NF-ĸß) signalling. Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1), is a nicotinamide adenosine dinucleotide (NAD)-dependent histone deacetylases that regulates various metabolic and oncogenic events such as cell survival, apoptosis, autophagy, tumourigenesis, metastasis and drug resistance in various cancers, but its role in HCC, particularly in sorafenib resistance is underexplored. In this study, we generated sorafenib-resistant HepG2 and Huh-7 liver cancer cell models to investigate the role of SIRT1 and its effect on autophagy and nuclear factor-kappa Beta (NF-ĸß) signalling pathways. Western blot analysis showed increased SIRT1, altered autophagy pathway and activated NF-Ä¸ß signalling in sorafenib-resistant cells. SIRT1-silenced HCC cells demonstrated down-regulated autophagy in both parental and chemoresistant cells. This may occur through the deacetylation of key autophagy molecules such as FOXO3, beclin 1, ATGs and LC3 by SIRT1, highlighting the role of SIRT1 in autophagy induction. Silencing of SIRT1 also resulted in activated NF-Ä¸ß signalling. This is because SIRT1 failed to deacetylate p65 subunit of NF-κB, translocate the NF-κB from nucleus to cytoplasm, and suppress NF-κB activity due to the silencing. Hence, the NF-κB transcriptional activity was restored. These findings summarize the role of SIRT1 in autophagy/NF-Ä¸ß regulatory axis, with a similar trend observed in both parental and sorafenib-resistant cells. The present work promotes a better understanding of the role of SIRT1 in autophagy and NF-Ä¸ß signalling in HCC and sorafenib-resistant HCC. As some key proteins in these pathways are potential therapeutic targets, a better understanding of SIRT1/autophagy/NF-Ä¸ß axis could further improve the therapeutic strategies against HCC.

Malaria, a devastating disease, has claimed numerous lives and caused considerable suffering, with young children and pregnant women being the most severely affected group. However, the emergence of multidrug-resistant strains of Plasmodium and the adverse side effects associated with existing antimalarial drugs underscore the urgent need for the development of novel, well-tolerated, and more efficient drugs to combat this global health threat. To address these challenges, six new hydantoins derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their in vitro antiplasmodial activity. Notably, compound 2c exhibited excellent inhibitory activity against the tested Pf3D7 strain, with an IC50 value of 3.97 ± 0.01 nM, three-fold better than chloroquine. Following closely, compound 3b demonstrated an IC50 value of 27.52 ± 3.37 µM against the Pf3D7 strain in vitro. Additionally, all the hydantoins derivatives tested showed inactive against human MCR-5 cells, with an IC50 value exceeding 100 µM. In summary, the hydantoin derivative 2c emerges as a promising candidate for further exploration as an antiplasmodial compound.

OBJECTIVE: Despite the demonstrated anti-melanogenic and UV protective effects of Zerumbone (ZER) in vitro, there is a lack of clinical trials that have been done to assess these properties. The primary objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness of ZER in lightening the skin tone of human participants with a single-blind approach. METHODS: Twenty-six participants were randomly assigned to two groups to investigate the application location (left or right volar forearm) for the placebo and ZER creams. Both creams were topically administered to the volar forearms twice daily over a duration of 4 weeks. Initial skin irritation was assessed before and 30 min after applying creams. The melanin and erythema levels were quantified with Mexameter MX 18. RESULTS: Twenty participants were included in the analysis. The cream formulation had excellent physical properties and was well-received by the participants. The initial skin irritation study results indicated that neither of the creams elicited an allergic reaction. The administration of ZER cream resulted in a statistically significant reduction in melanin levels (p < 0.05) after 1 week compared to the initial baseline. Furthermore, after 2 weeks of application, ZER cream demonstrated significant differences in melanin levels compared to placebo (p < 0.05). No adverse effects were observed in the group using ZER cream. CONCLUSION: ZER demonstrated significant potential as a skin-lightening agent.

Methiopropamine or 1-(thiophen-2-yl)-2-methylaminopropane (MPA) is a thiophene ring-based structural analogue of methamphetamine, first synthesized in 1942 but become popular when it started to be available for purchase on websites selling 'legal highs' since 2010. While it is legally controlled in many countries, it remains readily accessible and frequently encountered in recreational settings. The growing prevalence of MPA use results in new therapeutic challenges. Relatively few studies have focused on its pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, making it important to better understand its potential risks and harmful effects in humans in terms of its toxicity. This review provides a comprehensive profiling of MPA toxicological properties, including its chemical properties, analytical methods, prevalence, patterns of use, and legal status. Additionally, it discusses the drug's effects on the central nervous system, its potential for addiction, and its adverse physical and mental health effects. Improving the understanding of safety aspects of MPA and how it imposes health threats for public health will guide the development of therapeutic approach of its intoxication and guide the authorities in deciding its legal status.

DOACs have emerged as first-line treatment in most cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT), representing a paradigm shift in its management. However, CAT management remains challenging and requires careful risk-benefit considerations. A retrospective analysis of CAT presentations to a tertiary referral centre from January 2011 to December 2020. Outcomes in CAT patients were compared to VTE patients without malignancy. Subgroup analysis was also conducted for CAT according to anticoagulation type. 514 CAT cases from 491 patients were identified from 3230 total VTE cases. CAT patients had higher rates of major VTE (PE and/or proximal DVT) compared to patients without malignancy (78.4% vs. 66.8%, p < 0.001). CAT patients also had higher rates of VTE recurrence (HR 1.66, 95%CI 1.23-2.26), major bleeding (HR 3.41, 95%CI 2.36-4.93), VTE-related mortality (HR 2.59, 95%CI 1.46-4.62) and bleeding-related mortality (HR 2.66, 95%CI 1.05-6.73). There were no significant differences in rates of VTE recurrence, major bleeding, VTE-related mortality or fatal bleeding between CAT patients treated with DOACs, enoxaparin or warfarin. In the subgroup of CAT treated with DOACs, there was no significant difference in rates of GI bleeding compared to the enoxaparin subgroup (HR 0.17, 95%CI 0.02-1.26). CAT was associated with a larger clot burden and higher rates of VTE recurrence, major bleeding and mortality compared to VTE patients without malignancy in this large real-world study. This study demonstrated no significant differences in complication rates for CAT patients treated with DOACs over enoxaparin, suggesting that DOACs can be safely used in most cases of CAT.

Antibiotic resistance is fast spreading globally, leading to treatment failures and adverse clinical outcomes. This review focuses on the resistance mechanisms of the top five threatening pathogens identified by the World Health Organization's global priority pathogens list: carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii, carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, carbapenem-resistant, extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing Enterobacteriaceae, vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium and methicillin, vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Several novel drug candidates have shown promising results from in vitro and in vivo studies, as well as clinical trials. The novel drugs against carbapenem-resistant bacteria include LCB10-0200, apramycin, and eravacycline, while for Enterobacteriaceae, the drug candidates are LysSAP-26, DDS-04, SPR-206, nitroxoline, cefiderocol, and plazomicin. TNP-209, KBP-7072, and CRS3123 are agents against E. faecium, while Debio 1450, gepotidacin, delafloxacin, and dalbavancin are drugs against antibiotic-resistant S. aureus. In addition to these identified drug candidates, continued in vitro and in vivo studies are required to investigate small molecules with potential antibacterial effects screened by computational receptor docking. As drug discovery progresses, preclinical and clinical studies should also be extensively conducted on the currently available therapeutic agents to unravel their potential antibacterial effect and spectrum of activity, as well as safety and efficacy profiles.
