RESUMO

The purpose of this case report was to describe the evaluation and management of atypical benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) in an adult with severe osteogenesis imperfecta. A 29-year-old male was referred to a physical therapist with extensive experience in vestibular rehabilitation who provided horizontal canal BPPV treatment with a canalith repositioning maneuver over two treatment sessions. The individual's symptoms had reduced by 65% and his nystagmus during the roll test was reduced. Extreme care is needed to safely reposition individuals living with severe osteogenesis imperfecta, but the repositioning can reduce symptoms and improve quality of life.
