At the current university stage, university students are subjected to a variety of pressures such as role change adaptation pressure, study and life pressure, emotional pressure, economic pressure, employment pressure, and interpersonal pressure, which seriously affect their physical and mental health. Students with poor psychological tolerance may develop psychological disorders and, in serious cases, may even lead to mental illness. The results of the study indicated that 17%-20.23% of university students have psychological disorder problems. Excessive and long-lasting stress can cause psychological, depression and anxiety, physical fatigue, and discomfort, which can lead to various diseases and even death. It is, therefore, of great importance to study the state of mental health and stress among university students as well as to develop countermeasures to improve their mental health. This study focuses on the impact of martial arts sports on the mental health of university students. As a type of sport, martial arts sports are particularly special in which they can intertwine the nurturing spirit of traditional culture with the nurturing spirit of sports. The development of martial arts sports in colleges and universities can not only enhance the physical quality of college students but also promote the development of their physical and mental health. Therefore, this article takes Taijiquan as an example to explore the study of the impact of martial arts sports health on college students' mental health.

RESUMO

Many diseases, including cancer, can lead to neuropathic pain (NP). NP is one of the accompanying symptoms of suffering in many conditions and the life quality of NP patient is seriously affected. Due to complex causes, the effects of clinical treatments have been very unsatisfactory. Many experts have found that neuron-microglia interaction plays an essential role in NP occurrence and development. Therefore, the activation of microglia, related inflammatory mediators and molecular and cellular signaling pathways have become the focus of NP research. With the help of modern functional imaging technology, advanced pre-and clinical studies have been carried out and NP interventions have been attempted by using the different pharmaceuticals and the extracted active components of various traditional herbal medicines. In this communication, we review the mechanism of microglia on NP formation and treatment and molecular imaging technology's role in the clinical diagnosis and evaluation of NP therapies.

RESUMO

San Leng powder extract has been used as medicinal compound for the prevention and treatment of cancers. The antitumor activity of SLPE was determined by treating BALB/C mice harboring a human gastric cancer xenograft with SPLE for 17 days. Mice were also treated with fluorouracil (5-Fu, 25 mg/kg) or a combination of SLPE and 5-Fu. Our results indicate that the inhibition of tumor growth by SLPE might be due to a block in the cell cycle and the induction of apoptosis. These results suggest that SLPE might be useful in the treatment of gastric cancer.

BACKGROUND: The effects of home nursing intervention on the quality of life in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) after radiotherapy and chemotherapy are unclear. According to the characteristics of nursing home patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma, we should continuously improve the nursing plan and improve the quality of life of patients at home. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We selected 180 patients at home with NPC after radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The patients were randomly divided into experimental and control groups (90 patients each). The experimental group featured intervention with an NPC home nursing plan, while the control group was given routine discharge and outpatient review. Nursing intervention for patients was mainly achieved by regular telephone follow-up and home visits. We use the quality of life scale (QOL-C30), anxiety scale (SAS) and depression scale (SDS) to evaluate these patients before intervention, and during follow-up at 1 month and 3 months after the intervention. RESULTS: Overall health and quality of life were significantly different between the groups (p<0.05), Emotional function score was significantly higher after intervention (p<0.05), as were cognitive function and social function scores after 3 months of intervention (p<0.05). Scores of fatigue, nausea and vomiting, pain, appetite and constipation were also significantly different between the two groups (p<0.05). Rates of anxiety and depression after 3 months of intervention were 11.1%, 22.2% and 34.4%, 53.3%, the differences being significant (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: NPC home nursing plan could effectively improve overall quality of life, cognitive function, social function (after 3 months) of patients, but improvement regarding body function is not suggested. Fatigue, nausea and vomiting, pain, appetite, constipation were clearly improved. We should further pursue a personalized, comprehensive measurements for nursing interventions and try to improve the quality of life of NPC patients at home.

AIM: To investigate the effects of tetramethypyrazine (TMP) on proliferation and apoptosis of the human gastric carcinoma cell line 7901 and its possible mechanism of action. METHODS: The viability of TMP-treated 7901 cells was measured with a 3-(4, 5-dimethyl-thiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay (MTT) and cell apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry. The distribution of cells in different phases of cell cycle after exposure of TMPs was analyzed with flow cytometry. To investigate the molecular mechanisms of TMP-mediated apoptosis, the expression of NF-xBp65, cyclinD1 and p16 in SGC-7901 cells was analyzed by reverse transcription- polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and western blotting. RESULTS: TMP inhibited the proliferation of human gastric carcinoma cell line 7901 in dose and time dependent manners. Cell growth was suppressed by TMP at different concentrations (0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 mg/ml), the inhibition rate is 0.46%, 4.36%, 14.8%, 76.1% (48h) and 15.5%, 18.5%, 41.2%, 89.8% (72h) respectively. When the concentration of TMPs was 2.0mg/ml, G1-phase arrest in the SGC-7901 cells was significant based on the data for cell cycle distribution. RT-PCR demonstrated that NF-xBp65 and cyclin D1 mRNA expression was significantly down-regulated in 7901 cells treated with 2.0 mg/ml TMP for 72h (p<0.05), while the p16 mRNA level was up-regulated (p<0.05). The protein expression of NF-xBp65 and cyclin D1 decreased gradually with the increase in TMP concentration, compared with control cells (p<0.05), while expression of protein p16 was up-regulated (p<0.01). CONCLUSION: TMP exhibits significant anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic effects on the human gastric carcinoma cell line SGC-7901. NF-xBp65, cyclinD1 and p16 may also play important roles in the regulation mechanisms.
