RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the mid-term effect and complications of arthroscopic popliteal tendon suture in the treatment of lateral meniscus injury. METHODS: From January 2016 to December 2020, the data of 57 patients with lateral meniscus popliteal tendon injury treated by arthroscopic popliteal tendon suture fixation were retrospectively analyzed, including 35 males and 22 females, aged from 18 to 47 years old with an average of (32.9±7.9) years old. Knee function was evaluated using the International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) and Lysholm scores both before the operation and at the final follow-up. Meniscus healing was evaluated according to the postoperative Barrett standard. Wound healing complications, such as vascular injury, nerve injury, and lower extremity venous thrombosis, were recorded. RESULTS: All 57 patients were followed up for 12 to 58 months with an average of (38.1±14.9) months. The incisions of the patients after the operation were all Grade A healing without infection, popliteal tendon injury, blood vessel injury, nerve injury and lower extremity venous thrombosis. The IKDC score increased from (49.7±3.6) points preoperatively to (88.5±4.4) points in the final follow-up (P<0.05). The Lysholm score increased from (48.8±4.9) points preoperatively to (91.9±3.9) points at the final follow-up (P<0.05). At 3, 6 months and 1 year after operation, according to Barrett's criteria, 54 cases were clinically healed, the healing rate was 94.7% (54/57). CONCLUSION: This study preliminarily confirmed that arthroscopic suture technique can result in clinical stability through suture and fixation of the meniscus in the injured lateral popliteal tendon area. No adverse effects on knee joint function were found in the mid-term follow-up after the operation.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Lidocaine/prilocaine (EMLA) cream is a local anesthetic that is applied to the skin or mucosa during painful therapeutic procedures with few reported side effects. CASE SUMMARY: Here, we report the use of dermatoscopy to identify a case of erythema with purpura, a rare side effect, after the application of 5% EMLA cream. CONCLUSION: We conclude that erythema with purpura is caused by irritation and toxicity associated with EMLA, but the specific mechanism by which the toxic substance affects skin blood vessels is unclear. In response to this situation and for cosmetic needs, we recommend tranexamic acid, in addition to routine therapy, to prevent changes in pigmentation in patients with dermatitis.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To develop the machine learning model to predict clinical outcomes following MPFLR and identify the important predictive indicators. METHODS: This study included patients who underwent MPFLR from January 2018 to December 2022. The exclusion criteria were as follows: 1) concurrent bony procedures, 2) history of other knee surgeries, and 3) follow-up period of less than 12 months. Forty-two predictive models were constructed for seven clinical outcomes (failure to achieve MCID of clinical scores, return to pre-injury sports, pivoting sports, and recurrent instability) using six machine learning algorithms (Random Forest, Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine, Decision Tree, implemented multilayer perceptron, and K-nearest neighbor). The performance of the model was evaluated using metrics such as the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC), accuracy, specificity, and sensitivity. Additionally, Shapley Additive Explanation summary plot was employed to identify the important predictive factors of the best-performing model. RESULTS: A total of 218 patients met criteria. For the best-performing models in predicting failure to achieve the MCID for Lysholm, IKDC, Kujala, and Tegner scores, the AUCs and accuracies were 0.884 (good) and 87.3%, 0.859 (good) and 86.2%, 0.969 (excellent) and 97.0%, and 0.760 (fair) and 76.8%, respectively; 0.952 (excellent) and 95.2% for return to pre-injury sports; 0.756 (fair) and 75.4% for return to pivoting sports; and 0.943 (excellent) and 94.9% for recurrent instability. Low preoperative Tegner score, shorter time to surgery, and absence of severe trochlear dysplasia were significant predictors for return to pre-injury sports, while absence of severe trochlear dysplasia and patellar alta were significant predictors for return to pivoting sports. Older age, female sex, and low preoperative Lysholm score were highly predictive of recurrent instability. CONCLUSION: The predictive models developed using machine learning algorithms can reliably forecast the clinical outcomes of MPFLR, particularly demonstrating excellent performance in predicting recurrent instability. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: Level III, case-control study.

RESUMO

Limited research has reported the association between MTNR1B gene polymorphisms and ischemic stroke (IS), and there is insufficient evidence on whether adopting a healthy lifestyle can mitigate genetic risks in this context. This study aimed to investigate the associations between MTNR1B gene variants (rs10830963 and rs1387153) and IS, examining the potential effect of gene-lifestyle interactions on IS risk. Conducted in northern China, this family-based cohort study involved 5116 initially IS-free subjects. Genotype data for rs10830963 and rs1387153 in MTNR1B were collected. Eight modifiable lifestyle factors, including body mass index (BMI), smoking, alcohol consumption, dietary habits, physical activity, sedentary time, sleep duration, and chronotype, were considered in calculating healthy lifestyle scores. Multilevel Cox models were used to examine the associations between MTNR1B variants and IS. Participants carrying the rs10830963-G and rs1387153-T alleles exhibited an elevated IS risk. Each additional rs10830963-G allele and rs1387153-T allele increased the IS risk by 36% (HR = 1.36, 95% CI, 1.12-1.65) and 32% (HR = 1.32, 95% CI, 1.09-1.60), respectively. Participants were stratified into low, medium, and high healthy lifestyle score groups (1537, 2188, and 1391 participants, respectively). Genetic-lifestyle interactions were observed for rs10830963 and rs1387153 (p for interaction < 0.001). Notably, as the healthy lifestyle score increased, the effect of MTNR1B gene variants on IS risk diminished (p for trend < 0.001). This study underscores the association between the MTNR1B gene and IS, emphasizing that adherence to a healthy lifestyle can mitigate the genetic predisposition to IS.

RESUMO

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a clinically challenging and refractory psychiatric disorder characterized by pathologically hyperactivated brain activity. Continuous theta burst stimulation (cTBS) is considered a potentially non-invasive treatment for inducing inhibitory effects on the underlying cortex. Numerous studies showed an unsatisfactory efficacy of cTBS for OCD. Accordingly, it seems that cTBS is ineffective for OCD. However, the neglect of varying OCD severities, modest sample size, absence of a multicenter design incorporating inpatients and outpatients, and lack of personalized imaging-guided targeting may constrain the conclusive findings of cTBS efficacy for OCD. In the preliminary experiment, 50 inpatients with OCD were enrolled to receive cTBS (10 sessions/day for five continuous days) or sham over the personalized right pre-supplementary motor area determined by the highest functional connectivity with the subthalamic nucleus according to our prior study. In the extension experiment, 32 outpatients with OCD received cTBS to generalize the treatment effects. The Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (YBOCS) was assessed before and after treatment. In the preliminary experiment, the response rates in the cTBS group were 56.52%, respectively, significantly higher than those in the sham group. Further analysis revealed significant YBOCS improvement in patients with moderate OCD symptoms than those with severe OCD symptoms. In the extension experiment, the response rates were 50.00%. Additionally, a significant decrease in YBOCS scores was only found in patients with moderate OCD symptoms. This is the first study with an external validation design across two centers to identify OCD symptoms as playing an important role in cTBS treatment effects, especially in patients with moderate OCD symptoms.

RESUMO

Field-effect transistors (FETs) based on two-dimensional materials (2DMs) with atomically thin channels have emerged as a promising platform for beyond-silicon electronics. However, low carrier mobility in 2DM transistors driven by phonon scattering remains a critical challenge. To address this issue, we propose the controlled introduction of localized tensile strain as an effective means to inhibit electron-phonon scattering in 2DM. Strain is achieved by conformally adhering the 2DM via van der Waals forces to a dielectric layer previously nanoengineered with a gray-tone topography. Our results show that monolayer MoS2 FETs under tensile strain achieve an 8-fold increase in on-state current, reaching mobilities of 185 cm²/Vs at room temperature, in good agreement with theoretical calculations. The present work on nanotopographic grayscale surface engineering and the use of high-quality dielectric materials has the potential to find application in the nanofabrication of photonic and nanoelectronic devices.

RESUMO

In this study, we investigate the impact of two-dimensional MoS2 coating on the optical properties of surface GaN/AlGaN quantum wells (QWs). A strong enhancement in GaN QW light emission is observed with monolayer-MoS2 coating, yielding luminescence intensity comparable to that from a QW capped by an AlGaN barrier. Our results demonstrate that MoS2, despite its quite different nature from III-nitride semiconductors, acts as an effective barrier for surface GaN QWs and suppresses spatially localized intrinsic surface states. This finding provides novel pathways for efficient III-nitride surface passivation.

RESUMO

Hippo pathway functions as a tumor suppressor pathway by inhibiting the oncogenic potential of pathway effectors YAP/TAZ. However, YAP can also function as a context-dependent tumor suppressor in several types of cancer including clear cell renal cell carcinomas (ccRCC). Here we show that YAP blocks NF-κB signaling in ccRCC to inhibit cancer cell growth. Mechanistically, YAP inhibits the expression of ZHX2, a critical p65 co-factor in ccRCC. Furthermore, YAP competes with ZHX2 for binding to p65. Consequently, elevated nuclear YAP blocks the cooperativity between ZHX2 and p65, leading to diminished NF-κB target gene expression. Pharmacological inhibition of Hippo/MST1/2 blocked NF-κB transcriptional program and suppressed ccRCC cancer cell growth, which can be rescued by ZHX2/p65 overexpression. Our study uncovers a novel crosstalk between the Hippo and NF-κB pathways and its involvement in ccRCC growth inhibition, suggesting that targeting the Hippo pathway may provide a therapeutical opportunity for ccRCC treatment.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Visceral hypersensitivity is considered the core pathophysiological mechanism that causes abdominal pain in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Fungal dysbiosis has been proved to contribute to visceral hypersensitivity in IBS patients. However, the underlying mechanisms for Dectin-1, a major fungal recognition receptor, in visceral hypersensitivity are poorly understood. This study aimed to explore the role of Dectin-1 in visceral hypersensitivity and elucidate the impact of Dectin-1 activity on the function of transient receptor potential vanilloid type 1 (TRPV1). METHODS: Visceral hypersensitivity model was established by the intracolonic administration of 0.1 mL TNBS (130 µg/mL in 30% ethanol) in the male mice. Fluconazole and nystatin were used as fungicides. Laminarin, a Dectin-1 antagonist and gene knockout (Clec7a-/-) mice were used to interrupt the function of Dectin-1. Colorectal distension-electromyogram recording was performed to assess visceral sensitivity. Immunostaining experiment was performed to determine the localization of Dectin-1 in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons. Calcium imaging study was performed to assay TRPV1-mediated calcium influx in acutely dissociated DRG neurons. RESULTS: Pretreatment with fungicides, administration of laminarin or genetic deletion of Clec7a alleviated TNBS-induced visceral hypersensitivity in male mice. The expression of Dectin-1 was upregulated in the DRG and colon of TNBS-treated mice. Colocalization of Dectin-1 and TRPV1 was observed in DRG neurons. Importantly, pretreatment with curdlan, a Dectin-1 agonist, increased TRPV1-mediated calcium influx. CONCLUSIONS: Dectin-1 contributes to visceral hypersensitivity in IBS or in inflammatory bowel disease in remission and activation of Dectin-1 induces TRPV1 sensitization. SIGNIFICANCE STATEMENT: This work provides direct evidence for the functional regulation of TRPV1 channel by Dectin-1 activity, proposing a new mechanism underlying TRPV1 sensitization. Control of intestinal fungi might be beneficial for the treatment of refractory abdominal pain in patients with IBS or IBD in remission.

RESUMO

Glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis serves as a primary cause for secondary osteoporosis and fragility fractures, representing the most prevalent adverse reaction associated with prolonged glucocorticoid use. In this study, to elucidate the impact and underlying mechanisms of fluid shear stress (FSS)-mediated Piezo1 on dexamethasone (Dex)-induced apoptosis, we respectively applied Dex treatment for 6 h, FSS at 9 dyne/cm2 for 30 min, Yoda1 treatment for 2 h, and Piezo1 siRNA transfection to intervene in MLO-Y4 osteocytes. Western blot analysis was used to assess the expression of Cleaved Caspase-3, Bax, Bcl-2, and proteins associated with the PI3K/Akt pathway. Additionally, qRT-PCR was utilized to quantify the mRNA expression levels of these molecules. Hoechst 33258 staining and flow cytometry were utilized to evaluate the apoptosis levels. The results indicate that FSS at 9 dyne/cm2 for 30 min significantly upregulates Piezo1 in osteocytes. Following Dex-induced apoptosis, the phosphorylation levels of PI3K and Akt are markedly suppressed. FSS-mediated Piezo1 exerts a protective effect against Dex-induced apoptosis by activating the PI3K/Akt pathway. Additionally, downregulating the expression of Piezo1 in osteocytes using siRNA exacerbates Dex-induced apoptosis. To further demonstrate the role of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway, after intervention with the PI3K pathway inhibitor, the activation of the PI3K/Akt pathway by FSS-mediated Piezo1 in osteocytes was significantly inhibited, reversing the anti-apoptotic effect. This study indicates that under FSS, Piezo1 in MLO-Y4 osteocytes is significantly upregulated, providing protection against Dex-induced apoptosis through the activation of the PI3K/Akt pathway.

RESUMO

In this work, it was found that peroxymonosulfate (PMS) could appreciably accelerate the transformation rates of dichloroacetonitrile (DCAN) and trichloracetonitrile (TCAN) in aqueous solutions, especially under alkaline pHs. The impact of reactive oxygen species scavengers (methyl alcohol for sulfate radical, tert-butyl alcohol for hydroxyl radical, and azide for singlet oxygen) and water matrices (chloride (Cl-), bicarbonate (HCO3-), and natural organic matter (NOM)) on DCAN and TCAN transformation by PMS is evaluated, revealing negligible effects. A nucleophilic hydrolysis pathway, as opposed to an oxidation process, was proposed for the transformation of DCAN and TCAN by PMS, supported by the hydrolyzable characteristics of these compounds and validated through density functional theory calculations. Kinetic analysis indicated that the transformation of DCAN and TCAN by PMS adhered to a second-order kinetic law, with higher reaction rates observed at elevated pH levels within the range of 7.0-10.0. Kinetic modeling incorporating the hydrolytic contributions of water, hydroxyl ion, and protonated and deprotonated PMS (i.e., HSO5- and SO52-) effectively fitted the experimental data. Species-specific second-order rate constants reveal that SO52- exhibited significantly higher reactivity towards DCAN ((1.69 ± 0.22) × 104 M-1h-1) and TCAN ((6.06 ± 0.18) × 104 M-1h-1) compared to HSO5- ((2.14 ± 0.12) × 102 M-1h-1) for DCAN; and (1.378 ± 0.11) × 103 M-1h-1 for TCAN). Comparative analysis of DCAN and TCAN transformation efficiencies by four different oxidants indicated that PMS rivaled chlorine but falls short of hydrogen peroxide, with peroxydisulfate displaying negligible reactivity. Overall, this study uncovers the nucleophilic hydrolysis characteristics of PMS, supplementing its recognized role as an oxidant precursor or mild oxidant, and underscores its significant implications for environmental remediation.

RESUMO

Owing to the considerable potential of photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensors, they have gained significant attention in the analysis of biological, environmental, and food markers. However, the limited charge mass transfer efficiency and rapid recombination of electron hole pairs have become obstacles in the development of PEC sensors. In this case, considering the unique advantages of carbon-based materials, they can be used as photosensitizers, supporting materials and conductive substrates and coupled with semiconductors to prepare composite materials, solving the above problems. In addition, there are many types of carbon materials, which can have semiconductor properties and form heterojunctions after coupling with semiconductors, effectively promoting the separation of electron hole pairs. Herein, we aimed to provide a comprehensive analysis of reports on carbon-based PEC sensors by introducing their research and application status and discussing future development trends in this field. In particular, the types and performance improvement strategies of carbon-based electrodes and the working principles of carbon-based PEC sensors are explained. Furthermore, the applications of carbon-based photoelectric sensors in environmental monitoring, biomedicine, and food detection are highlighted. Finally, the current limitations in the research on carbon-based PEC sensors are emphasized and the need to enhance the sensitivity and selectivity through material modification, structural design, improved device performance, and other strategies are emphasized.

RESUMO

Introduction: Yunnan Xiaomila is a pepper variety whose flowers and fruits become mature at the same time and multiple times a year. The distinction between the fruits and the background is low and the background is complex. The targets are small and difficult to identify. Methods: This paper aims at the problem of target detection of Yunnan Xiaomila under complex background environment, in order to reduce the impact caused by the small color gradient changes between xiaomila and background and the unclear feature information, an improved PAE-YOLO model is proposed, which combines the EMA attention mechanism and DCNv3 deformable convolution is integrated into the YOLOv8 model, which improves the model's feature extraction capability and inference speed for Xiaomila in complex environments, and achieves a lightweight model. First, the EMA attention mechanism is combined with the C2f module in the YOLOv8 network. The C2f module can well extract local features from the input image, and the EMA attention mechanism can control the global relationship. The two complement each other, thereby enhancing the model's expression ability; Meanwhile, in the backbone network and head network, the DCNv3 convolution module is introduced, which can adaptively adjust the sampling position according to the input feature map, contributing to stronger feature capture capabilities for targets of different scales and a lightweight network. It also uses a depth camera to estimate the posture of Xiaomila, while analyzing and optimizing different occlusion situations. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified through ablation experiments, model comparison experiments and attitude estimation experiments. Results: The experimental results indicated that the model obtained an average mean accuracy (mAP) of 88.8%, which was 1.3% higher than that of the original model. Its F1 score reached 83.2, and the GFLOPs and model sizes were 7.6G and 5.7MB respectively. The F1 score ranked the best among several networks, with the model weight and gigabit floating-point operations per second (GFLOPs) being the smallest, which are 6.2% and 8.1% lower than the original model. The loss value was the lowest during training, and the convergence speed was the fastest. Meanwhile, the attitude estimation results of 102 targets showed that the orientation was correctly estimated exceed 85% of the cases, and the average error angle was 15.91°. In the occlusion condition, 86.3% of the attitude estimation error angles were less than 40°, and the average error angle was 23.19°. Discussion: The results show that the improved detection model can accurately identify Xiaomila targets fruits, has higher model accuracy, less computational complexity, and can better estimate the target posture.

RESUMO

Background: Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) improves diseases such as refractory epilepsy and treatment-resistant depression, likely by rebalancing the autonomic nervous system (ANS). Intradermal auricular electro-acupuncture stimulation (iaES) produces similar effects. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of different iaES frequencies on the parasympathetic and sympathetic divisions in different states of ANS imbalance. Methods: We measured heart rate variability (HRV) and heart rate (HR) of non-modeled (normal) rats with the treatment of various frequencies to determine the optimal iaES frequency. The optimized iaES frequency was then applied to ANS imbalance model rats to elucidate its effects. Results: 30 Hz and 100 Hz iaES clearly affected HRV and HR in normal rats. 30 Hz iaES increased HRV, and decreased HR. 100 Hz iaES decreased HRV, and increased HR. In sympathetic excited state rats, 30 Hz iaES increased HRV. 100 Hz iaES increased HRV, and decreased HR. In parasympathetic excited state rats, 30 Hz and 100 Hz iaES decreased HRV. In sympathetic inhibited state rats, 30 Hz iaES decreased HRV, while 100 Hz iaES decreased HR. In parasympathetic inhibited rats, 30 Hz iaES decreased HR and 100 Hz iaES increased HRV. Conclusion: 30 Hz and 100 Hz iaES contribute to ANS rebalance by increasing vagal and sympathetic activity with different amplifications. The 30 Hz iaES exhibited positive effects in all the imbalanced states. 100 Hz iaES suppressed the sympathetic arm in sympathetic excitation and sympathetic/parasympathetic inhibition and suppressed the vagal arm and promoted the sympathetic arm in parasympathetic excitation and normal states.

RESUMO

Purpose: This study sought to determine if the use of tranexamic acid (TXA) in preexisting thromboembolic risk patients undergoing total joint arthroplasty (TJA) was linked to an increased risk of death or postoperative complications. Methods: We conducted a comprehensive search for studies up to May 2023 in PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library. We included randomized clinical trials, cohort studies, and case-control studies examining the use of TXA during TJA surgeries on high-risk patients. The Cochrane Risk of Bias instrument was used to gauge the excellence of RCTs, while the MINORS index was implemented to evaluate cohort studies. We used mean difference (MD) and relative risk (RR) as effect size indices for continuous and binary data, respectively, along with 95% CIs. Results: Our comprehensive study, incorporating data from 11 diverse studies involving 812 993 patients, conducted a meta-analysis demonstrating significant positive outcomes associated with TXA administration. The findings revealed substantial reductions in critical parameters, including overall blood loss (MD = -237.33; 95% CI (-425.44, -49.23)), transfusion rates (RR = 0.45; 95% CI (0.34, 0.60)), and 90-day unplanned readmission rates (RR = 0.86; 95% CI (0.76, 0.97)). Moreover, TXA administration exhibited a protective effect against adverse events, showing decreased risks of pulmonary embolism (RR = 0.73; 95% CI (0.61, 0.87)), myocardial infarction (RR = 0.47; 95% CI (0.40-0.56)), and stroke (RR = 0.73; 95% CI (0.59-0.90)). Importantly, no increased risk was observed for mortality (RR = 0.53; 95% CI (0.24, 1.13)), deep vein thrombosis (RR = 0.69; 95% CI (0.44, 1.09)), or any of the evaluated complications associated with TXA use. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the use of TXA in TJA patients with preexisting thromboembolic risk does not exacerbate complications, including reducing mortality, deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism. Existing evidence strongly supports the potential benefits of TXA in TJA patients with thromboembolic risk, including lowering blood loss, transfusion, and readmission rates.

RESUMO

Introduction: Riboflavin transporter deficiency (RTD) is a rare genetic disorder that affects riboflavin transport, leading to impaired red blood cell production and resulting in pure red cell aplasia. Recognizing and understanding its clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and management is important. Case presentation: A 2-year-old patient presented with pure red cell aplasia as the primary symptom of RTD. After confirming the diagnosis, rapid reversal of anemia was achieved after high-dose riboflavin treatment. Conclusion: RTD often has an insidious onset, and neurological symptoms appear gradually as the disease progresses, making it prone to misdiagnosis. Genetic testing and bone marrow biopsy can confirm the diagnosis.

RESUMO

The purpose of this meta-analysis was to conduct a comparative analysis of clinical scores and complication rates among patients experiencing recurrent patellar dislocation who underwent medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction using both single and double tunnel techniques. A comprehensive search was conducted across electronic databases including PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and Google Scholar to retrieve articles relevant to MPFL reconstruction utilising the tunnel technique. Subsequently, meta-analyses were undertaken to assess complication rates and changes in clinical scores before and after surgery. Following this, sensitivity analysis and meta-regression analysis were performed to scrutinise potential confounding variables. A total of thirty-two studies were included in the analysis, comprising twenty-seven non-comparative studies and five comparative studies. The findings revealed a similarity in postoperative complication rates between the single and double tunnel fixation techniques: [9.0% (95%CI, 4.0%-15.6%) versus 8.9% (95%CI, 4.7%-14.1%, p = 0.844)]. Likewise, no statistically significant differences were observed in Lysholm scores [34.1 (95%CI, 26.7-41.5) versus 33.8 (95%CI, 27.7-40.0, p = 0.956)], Kujala scores [29.4 (95%CI, 22.3-36.4) versus 27.3 (95%CI, 22.3-32.3, p = 0.637)], and Tegner score change [1.1 (95%CI, 0.8-1.4) versus 0.7 (95%CI, -0.2-1.6, p = 0.429)] before and after MPFL reconstruction, respectively, using these two techniques. In conclusion, the authors found that the clinical functional improvement and complication rates in MPFL reconstruction using the single tunnel fixation technique are comparable to those achieved with the double tunnel fixation approach. However, to further advance the understanding in this field, additional randomised controlled studies must be conducted to provide further insights. Key Words: MPFL reconstruction, Bone tunnel, Patellar dislocation, Meta-analysis.

RESUMO

In the face of the unprecedented public health crisis caused by the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, front-line health workers are under enormous mental pressure. This paper aims to explore the mental health challenges faced by front-line health workers in the early stages of a public health emergency, such as stress, anxiety, and depression. At the same time, the factors that increase their mental stress are analyzed, and practical measures are put forward to prevent and manage mental health problems, aiming at improving the quality of medical treatment during public health emergencies. This paper has some reference value for people engaged in mental health prevention.

RESUMO

Towards realizing the future quantum internet1,2, a pivotal milestone entails the transition from two-node proof-of-principle experiments conducted in laboratories to comprehensive multi-node set-ups on large scales. Here we report the creation of memory-memory entanglement in a multi-node quantum network over a metropolitan area. We use three independent memory nodes, each of which is equipped with an atomic ensemble quantum memory3 that has telecom conversion, together with a photonic server where detection of a single photon heralds the success of entanglement generation. The memory nodes are maximally separated apart for 12.5 kilometres. We actively stabilize the phase variance owing to fibre links and control lasers. We demonstrate concurrent entanglement generation between any two memory nodes. The memory lifetime is longer than the round-trip communication time. Our work provides a metropolitan-scale testbed for the evaluation and exploration of multi-node quantum network protocols and starts a stage of quantum internet research.
