RESUMO

Halide perovskites have shown great potential in X-ray detection due to outstanding optoelectronic properties. However, finding a cost-effective and environmentally sustainable method for handling end-of-life devices has remained challenging. Here, a "One-Click Restart" eco-friendly recycling strategy is introduced for end-of-life perovskite X-ray detectors. This method, utilizing water, allows for the recapture and reuse of both perovskite and conductor materials. The process is straightforward and environmentally friendly, eliminating the need for further chemical treatment, purification, additional additives or catalysts, and complex equipment. A sustainable device cycle is developed by reconstructing flexible perovskite membranes for wearable electronics from recycled materials. Large-scale, flexible membranes made from metal-free perovskite DABCO-N2H5-I3 (DABCO = N-N'-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octonium) achieve remarkably impressive average sensitivity of 6204 ± 268 µC Gyair -1 cm-2 and a low detection limit of 102.3 nGyair s-1, which makes highly effective for X-ray imaging. The sensitivity of recycled flexible devices not only matches that of single-crystal devices made with fresh materials but also ranks as the highest among all metal-free perovskite X-ray detectors. "One-Click Restart" applies to scalable flexible devices derived from aged single-crystal counterparts, offering significant cost, time, and energy savings compared to their single-crystal equivalents. Such advantages significantly boost future market competitiveness.

RESUMO

The critical requirement for ambient-printed formamidinium lead iodide (FAPbI3 ) lies in the control of nucleation-growth kinetics and defect formation behavior, which are extensively influenced by interactions between the solvent and perovskite. Here, a strategy is developed that combines a cosolvent and an additive to efficiently tailor the coordination between the solvent and perovskite. Through in situ characterizations, the direct crystallization from the sol-gel phase to α-FAPbI3 is illustrated. When the solvent exhibits strong interactions with the perovskite, the sol-gel phases cannot effectively transform into α-FAPbI3 , resulting in a lower nucleation rate and confined crystal growth directions. Consequently, it becomes challenging to fabricate high-quality void-free perovskite films. Conversely, weaker solvent-perovskite coordination promotes direct crystallization from sol-gel phases to α-FAPbI3 . This process exhibits more balanced nucleation-growth kinetics and restrains the formation of defects and microstrains in situ. This strategy leads to improved structural and optoelectronic properties within the FAPbI3 films, characterized by more compact grain stacking, smoother surface morphology, released lattice strain, and fewer defects. The ambient-printed FAPbI3 perovskite solar cells fabricated using this strategy exhibit a remarkable power conversion efficiency of 24%, with significantly reduced efficiency deviation and negligible decreases in the stabilized output.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the effects of paclitaxel and doxorubicin on the immune microenvironment of breast cancer in mice. Methods The CTR-DB database, a database for analysis of gene expression profiles and drug resistance characteristics related to tumor drug response, was used to analyze the effect of chemotherapeutic drugs on the immune microenvironment of breast cancer. Mouse models with breast cancer were established by in situ injection with 4T1 cells, a triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells. Then they were treated with doxorubicin and paclitaxel, respectively. The sizes of tumor were recorded and analyzed by growth curve. The number of different types of immune cells was analyzed using flow cytometry. The expressions of Ki67, S100 calcium binding protein A9 (S100A9) and matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9) were detected by immunohistochemistry. The cell cycles of 4T1 cells in paclitaxel group and doxorubicin group were analyzed by flow cytometry. Results The results of CTR_Microarray_75 analysis showed that the immune scores, and the number of cytotoxic lymphocytes, B lineages, CD8+ T cells, dendritic cells (DCs), monocytic lineages and natural killer (NK) cells in chemotherapy-sensitive breast cancer were higher than those in chemotherapy-insensitive breast cancer. Through growth curve analysis in mice with breast cancer, we found that both paclitaxel and doxorubicin could inhibit the increase of the tumor sizes, and the paclitaxel showed a higher inhibitory effect. The results of cytometry displayed that both paclitaxel and doxorubicin could restrain the expression of Ki67 and increase the number of breast cancer cells in G2/M phase, and in the paclitaxel group, the expression of Ki67 was lower and the number of breast cancer cells in G2/M phase was larger. Paclitaxel and doxorubicin enhanced the infiltration of CD45+ immune cells but decreased the infiltration of neutrophils. Additionally, paclitaxel promoted the infiltration of CD3+CD4+ T helper cells, CD3+CD8+ cytotoxic T cells and CD45+CD19+B cells, while doxorubicin increased the infiltration of CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells (Tregs). The results of immunohistochemistry displayed that the paclitaxel significantly inhibited the expression of S100A9, while the doxorubicin significantly restrained the expression of MMP9. Conclusion Paclitaxel and doxorubicin can effectively inhibit the growth of breast cancer cells and change immune microenvironment of TNBC by regulating the different patterns of cell infiltration and the expression of different extracellular matrix components.

RESUMO

Upscalable printing of high-performance and stable perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is highly desired for commercialization. However, the efficiencies of printed PSCs lag behind those of their lab-scale spin-coated counterparts owing to the lack of systematic understanding and control over perovskite crystallization dynamics. Here, the controlled crystallization dynamics achieved using an additive 1-butylpyridine tetrafluoroborate (BPyBF4 ) for high-quality ambient printed α-formamidinium lead triiodide (FAPbI3 ) perovskite films are reported. Using in situ grazing-incidence wide-angle X-ray scattering and optical diagnostics, the spontaneous formation of α-FAPbI3 from precursors during printing without the involvement of  Î´-FAPbI3 is demonstrated. The addition of BPyBF4 delays the crystallization onset of α-FAPbI3 , enhances the conversion from sol-gel to perovskite, and reduces stacking defects during printing. Therefore, the altered crystallization results in fewer voids, larger grains, and less trap-induced recombination loss within printed films. The printed PSCs yield high power conversion efficiencies of 23.50% and 21.60% for a 0.09 cm-2 area device and a 5 cm × 5 cm-area module, respectively. Improved device stability is further demonstrated, i.e., approximately 94% of the initial efficiency is retained for over 2400 h under ambient conditions without encapsulation. This study provides an effective crystallization control method for the ambient printing manufacture of large-area high-performance PSCs.

RESUMO

Geopolymers play a significant role in remediation of heavy metal contamination and are attracting increasing interests. Sodium aluminosilicate hydrate (NASH) is the prime hydration substance of geopolymers which exhibits excellent adsorption capacity, however, the mechanism of metal cation adsorption at the NASH interface remains unclear. In this study, the adsorption behavior of cations at the NASH interface was investigated in depth, and the effects of Si/Al ratios, ion concentration and ion type on adsorption behavior were also analyzed. Furthermore, three Si/Al ratio models of NASH gel were modified and developed by molecular dynamics simulation, and validated by experiments. The result showed that electrostatic attraction and ion exchange played the major role in adsorbing three cations on the surface of NASH gel. For cations with the same charge number, ionic radius was inversely proportional to the cation exchange and adsorption capacity. Cations with lower ionic potential, among those with different charge numbers, were easier to be adsorbed onto the NASH surface. Therefore, the adsorption capacity of NASH for the three adsorbents was in the order of Na+ > Cs+ > Pb2+. The adsorption capacity of NASH gel for cations increased with the increasing of Al/Si and decreased with the increasing of cation concentration, which was attributed to the increased electrostatic attraction on the NASH surface and the limited number of adsorption sites. The derived microstructure and dynamics information are beneficial for profoundly understanding the adsorption mechanisms of geopolymers on cations.

RESUMO

Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are the predominant stromal cells in the microenvironment and play important roles in tumor progression, including chemoresistance. However, the response of CAFs to chemotherapeutics and their effects on chemotherapeutic outcomes are largely unknown. In this study, we showed that epirubicin (EPI) treatment triggered ROS which initiated autophagy in CAFs, TCF12 inhibited autophagy flux and further promoted exosome secretion. Inhibition of EPI-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) production with N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) or suppression of autophagic initiation with short interfering RNA (siRNA) against ATG5 blunted exosome release from CAFs. Furthermore, exosome secreted from EPI-treated CAFs not only prevented ROS accumulation in CAFs but also upregulated the CXCR4 and c-Myc protein levels in recipient ER+ breast cancer cells, thus promoting EPI resistance of tumor cells. Together, the current study provides novel insights into the role of stressed CAFs in promoting tumor chemoresistance and reveal a new function of TCF12 in regulating autophagy impairment and exosome release.

RESUMO

We previously reported that BMP9 inhibited breast cancer progression. However, the precise molecular mechanism is still unknown. Based on our RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) results, BMP9 significantly down-regulated the expression of long non-coding RNA SNHG3. Exogenous BMP9 promoted autophagy and inhibited migration and invasion in MDA-MB-231 cells, which was effectively blunted by SNHG3 overexpression. Interestingly, SNHG3 was negatively connected with autophagy. Knockdown of SNHG3 induced autophagy by increasing the formation of autophagic vacuoles and thus inhibited the migration and invasion of MDA-MB-231 cells. Mechanically, BMP9-SNHG3 activated AMPK, AKT and mTOR signaling pathways to induce autophagy and inhibit migration and invasion. Meanwhile, BMP9 regulated SNHG3 transcription by suppressing c-Myc entry into the nucleus. In conclusion, BMP9 promotes autophagy and inhibits migration and invasion in breast cancer cells through the c-Myc/SNHG3/mTOR signaling axis, which might offer a fresh perspective on BMP9's breast cancer-inhibiting properties.

RESUMO

Objective: This retrospective case-control study aimed to investigate the relationship between cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and cerebral hemorrhage (CH) and to determine whether these biomarkers can predict the risk of hemorrhage. Methods: Patients diagnosed with SAH and CH at Chongqing University Central Hospital between January 2020 and April 2022 were included in this study. CSF-adenosine deaminase (ADA), CSF-lactate (Lac), and CSF-lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were measured, and their associations with hemorrhage risk were analyzed using multivariable logistic regression models. The predictive value of these biomarkers was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. Results: A total of 114 SAH patients, 105 CH patients, and 53 healthy controls were included in this study. The multivariable analysis revealed that hypertension, CSF-ADA, and CSF-Lac were independent risk factors for SAH, while hypertension and CSF-LDH were independent risk factors for CH. The ROC analysis demonstrated that the combination of CSF-ADA and CSF-Lac had the highest predictive value for SAH (area under the curve = 0.938), while CSF-LDH had the highest predictive value for CH (area under the curve = 0.946). Conclusion: CSF biomarkers, specifically CSF-ADA, CSF-Lac, and CSF-LDH, are valuable predictors of SAH and CH. These biomarkers may assist in diagnosing and managing hemorrhagic stroke in clinical settings.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Reference intervals (RIs) are vital for interpreting laboratory biomarkers and enabling clinical decision-making. Among various RI-estimation methods, we explored the application value of Hoffmann, Bhattacharya, nonparametric test, and Q-Q plot methods for estimating the RI of urea, creatinine, and uric acid (UA). METHOD: This cross-sectional study collected patient data recorded between January 2020 and April 2022 at the Chongqing University Central Hospital Laboratory Information System. The RIs of urea, creatinine, and UA levels were established using the Hoffmann, Bhattacharya, nonparametric, and Q-Q plot methods, and RI differences with different computational methods were verified using the reference change value (RCV%) of biological variability. RESULTS: We included 16,474 and 123,570 patients in the physical examination and clinical groups, respectively. In the clinical group, differences in the RI upper limit of analytes with the four methods (excluding the Q-Q plot method) were within the permissible RCV% range; only the nonparametric test produced an RI of urea with the lower limit within the permissible RCV% range. In the physical examination group, the relative RI differences among the four methods (excluding the lower limit of RI obtained using the Q-Q plot) were all within the acceptable RCV% range; the relative deviation of the RI of UA with the four methods was within the acceptable RCV% range (excluding the lower RI limit obtained using the Q-Q plot and nonparametric test). CONCLUSION: The Hoffmann and Bhattacharya methods may provide reliable RIs for indirect estimations of urea, creatinine, and UA based on laboratory datasets.

RESUMO

To maintain cell viability and characteristics physiological over long time or long-distance cell shipment is critical to promote the collaborative efforts in the research field of cell biology. Herein, we investigated the possibility of different concentration of fetal bovine serum as transport cell reagent. Cell suspension of three different mammalian cell lines were transported in 1.5 mL tube under different temperature conditions. Cell viability was closely related to environmental temperature and shipment time. No significant difference of cell survival rate was observed between 2-8 â„ƒ and 8-16 â„ƒ groups, under these two temperature conditions, reagent containing above 50 % FBS showed the best protection effect to maintain over 80 % cell survival rate. After 10 days of cell shipment under 2-16 â„ƒ environmental temperature, C3H10 cells exhibited the same multiple differentiation ability, 143B cells had the same capability of proliferation, migration and invasion, LX-2 cells showed the same activation state with TGF-ß stimulation. Three cell lines maintained their primary characteristics after long time cell shipment. This entire shipment process does not require the maintenance of specific temperatures, humidity and container, providing a low-costing and convenient way for cell shipment between long distance laboratories.

RESUMO

Background: Metastasis is the leading cause of death in patients with breast cancer (BC). Primary tumors create a premetastatic niche (PMN) in secondary organs for subsequent metastases. Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are a predominant stromal component in the tumor microenvironment and serve as a major contributor to tumor metastasis. However, the function and mechanism of primary CAFs in the premetastatic niche of secondary organs remain unclear in BC. Methods: We investigated the expression profiles of lncRNAs in pairs of CAFs and NFs derived from breast tumor tissues using lncRNA microarray. The expression levels of lncSNHG5, ZNF281, IGF2BP2, CCL2 and CCL5 were assessed by qRT-PCR; the protein levels of related genes (e.g., ZNF281, IGF2BP2, CCL2, and CCL5) were analyzed using western blotting and/or ELISA in primary and immortalized CAFs and clinical samples. Tubule formation and three-dimensional sprouting assays and tissue fluorescence staining were conducted to investigate angiogenesis. In vitro permeability assays, trans-endothelial invasion assays, in vivo permeability assays and tissue fluorescence staining were conducted to examine vascular permeability. The regulatory mechanism of lncSNHG5 was investigated by RNA sequencing, fluorescent in situ hybridization, cellular fractionation assay, mass spectrometry, RNA pull-down, RNA immunoprecipitation, gene-specific m6A assay, chromatin immunoprecipitation, dual luciferase reporter assay and actinomycin D treatment in CAFs and NFs. Results: LncSNHG5 was highly expressed in breast CAFs and played an essential role in premetastatic niche formation by promoting angiogenesis and vascular leakiness through regulation of ZNF281 in CAFs. lncSNHG5 enhanced ZNF281 mRNA stability by binding with the m6A reader IGF2BP2. Enhanced ZNF281 transcriptionally regulated CCL2 and CCL5 expression to activate P38 MAPK signaling in endothelial cells. High CCL2 and CCL5 expression was associated with tumor metastasis and poor prognosis in BC patients. The inhibitors RS102895, marasviroc and cenicriviroc inhibited angiogenesis and vascular permeability in the PMN by blocking the binding of CCL2/CCR2 and CCL5/CCR5. The lncSNHG5-ZNF281-CCL2/CCL5 signaling axis plays an essential role in inducing premetastatic niche formation to promote BC metastasis. Conclusions: Our work demonstrates that lncSNHG5 and its downstream signaling ZNF281-CCL2/CCL5 in CAFs play a crucial role in premetastatic niche formation in breast cancer and may serve as potential targets for the diagnosis and treatment of BC metastasis.

RESUMO

Asian elephant is large herbivorous animal with elongated hindgut. To explore fecal microbial community composition with various ages, sex and diets, and their role in plant biomass degrading and nutrition conversation. We generated 119 Gb by metagenome sequencing from 10 different individual feces and identified 5.3 million non-redundant genes. The comprehensive analysis established that the Bacteroidetes, Firmicutes and Proteobacteria constituted the most dominant phyla in overall fecal samples. In different individuals, the alpha diversity of the fecal microbiota in female was lower than male, and the alpha diversity of the fecal microbiota in older was higher than younger, and the fecal microbial diversity was the most complex in wild elephant. But the predominant population compositions were similar to each other. Moreover, the newborn infant elephant feces assembled and maintained a diverse but host-specific fecal microbial population. The discovery speculated that Asian elephant maybe have start to building microbial populations before birth. Meanwhile, these results illustrated that host phylogeny, diets, ages and sex are significant factors for fecal microbial community composition. Therefore, we put forward the process of Asian elephant fecal microbial community composition that the dominant populations were built first under the guidance of phylogeny, and then shaped gradually a unique and flexible gut microbial community structure under the influences of diet, age and sex. This study found also that the Bacteroidetes were presumably the main drivers of plant fiber-degradation. A large of secondary metabolite biosynthetic gene clusters, and genes related to enediyne biosynthesis were found and showed that the Asian elephant fecal microbiome harbored a diverse and abundant genetic resource. A picture of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) reservoirs of fecal microbiota in Asian elephants was provided. Surprisingly, there was such wide range of ARGs in newborn infant elephant. Further strengthening our speculation that the fetus of Asian elephant has colonized prototypical fecal microbiota before birth. However, it is necessary to point out that the data give a first inside into the gut microbiota of Asian elephants but too few individuals were studied to draw general conclusions for differences among wild and captured elephants, female and male or different ages. Further studies are required. Additionally, the cultured actinomycetes from Asian elephant feces also were investigated, which the feces of Asian elephants could be an important source of actinomycetes.

RESUMO

Cement-stabilized dredged sediment (CDS) when used as a new road construction material cannot only solve the problem of abandoned sediment disposal, but also effectively save natural soil resources. This study aimed to evaluate the strength and permeability of CDS and establish corresponding prediction models from the perspective of a stabilization mechanism. The soil-water composition and pore size distribution were investigated by the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technique. The results demonstrated that more liquid pore water inside the CDS specimen transformed into combined water with cement hydration. The amount of combined water, which essentially characterized the hydration process of cement, presented a linear relationship with log (t). The cementation and filling action of hydrates resulted in the transformation of large pores into smaller ones, hence the optimal pore size decreased with an increasing curing period and cement content. The stress-strain curves and hydraulic conductivity were determined based on unconfined compression and flexible wall penetration tests, respectively. The unconfined compressive strength increased exponentially with the amount of combined water, and the functional correlations of hydraulic conductivity and micropore parameters were established. The reliability of the NMR technique as a new method to study the microscopic evolution mechanism of the strength and permeability of CDS was further verified by scanning electron microscopy and mercury intrusion porosimetry tests.

RESUMO

A wide array of microRNAs (miRNAs) is differentially expressed in breast tumors and also functions as tumor suppressors. Herein, the current study sought to unravel the function of miR-4731-5p in breast cancer progression. First, breast cancer-related miRNA and mRNA microarray data sets were retrieved for differential analyses. Subsequently, the expression patterns of miR-4731-5p, PAICS, and FAK in breast cancer tissues and cells were determined, in addition to analyses of their roles in glycometabolism, migration, invasion, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) analyzed through functional assays. Next, the targeting relation between miR-4731-5p and PAICS was validated. Xenograft tumors in nude mice were further established to reproduce and verify the in vitro findings. miR-4731-5p was poorly expressed and PAICS was highly expressed in breast cancer tissues and cells. PAICS was confirmed as a target of miR-4731-5p. Moreover, miR-4731-5p exerted an inhibitory effect on glycolysis, EMT, migration, and invasion in breast cancer cells via regulation of PAICS-dependent phosphorylation of FAK. In vivo assay further validated the significance of the miR-4731-5p/PAICS/FAK axis in vivo tumorigenesis and lung metastasis in breast cancer. Collectively, our findings indicated that miR-4731-5p inhibited breast cancer cell glycolysis and EMT through the reduction of PAICS-induced phosphorylation of FAK.

RESUMO

Deep learning-based object detection in remote sensing images is an important yet challenging task due to a series of difficulties, such as complex geometry scene, dense target quantity, and large variant in object distributions and scales. Moreover, algorithm designers also have to make a trade-off between model's complexity and accuracy to meet the real-world deployment requirements. To deal with these challenges, we proposed a lightweight YOLO-like object detector with the ability to detect objects in remote sensing images with high speed and high accuracy. The detector is constructed with efficient channel attention layers to improve the channel information sensitivity. Differential evolution was also developed to automatically find the optimal anchor configurations to address issue of large variant in object scales. Comprehensive experiment results show that the proposed network outperforms state-of-the-art lightweight models by 5.13% and 3.58% in accuracy on the RSOD and DIOR dataset, respectively. The deployed model on an NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX embedded board can achieve a detection speed of 58 FPS with less than 10W power consumption, which makes the proposed detector very suitable for low-cost low-power remote sensing application scenarios.

A novel Actinobacterium strain YIM 131861 T, was isolated from lichen collected from the South Bank Forest of the Baltic Sea, Germany. It was Gram-stain-positive, strictly aerobic, catalase positive and oxidase negative, yellow pigmented. Cells were motile with a polar flagellum, irregular rod shaped and did not display spore formation. The strain grew at 15 - 30 °C (optimum 25 °C), at pH 6.0 - 10.0 (optimum pH 7.0) and in the presence of 0 - 1.5% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 1%). Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain YIM 131861 T belonged to the genus Glaciibacter, and exhibited a high sequence similarity (96.4%) with Glaciibacter superstes NBRC 104264 T. The genomic DNA G + C content of strain YIM 131861 T was 68.2 mol%. The average nucleotide identity (ANI) and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) values between strain YIM 131861 T and Glaciibacter superstes NBRC 104264 T were 73.2 and 19.9% based on the draft genome sequence. The cell-wall peptidoglycan type was B2γ and contained the 2, 4-diaminobutyric acid as the diagnostic amino acid. Whole cell sugars were galactose, rhamnose, ribose and glucose. It contained MK-12 and MK-13 as the predominant menaquinones. The major cellular fatty acids (> 10%) were identified as anteiso-C15:0, iso-C16:0 and anteiso-C17:0. The polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol and two unknown glycolipids. Based on the results of phenotypic, chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic analyses, strain YIM 131861 T should belong to the genus Glaciibacter and represents a novel species of the genus Glaciibacter, for which the name Glaciibacter flavus sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is YIM 131861 T (= CGMCC 1.16588 T = NBRC 113572 T).

RESUMO

In recent years, superamphiphobic coatings have been widely used in industrial transportation and environmental treatments because of their unique liquid repellency. In this study, WO3-TiO2 nanorods/SiO2 were used as the constructor of surface microstructures, and 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorodecyltriethoxysilane was used as the provider of low surface energy, and a photocatalytic superamphiphobic coating (FTS coating) was prepared. The microstructure and chemical composition of the coating was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The coating exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity toward degradation methyl red and nitric oxide (NO), and the degradation efficiency to NO reached 47.8%. Also, the advanced contact angle and the hysteresis angle of water, glycol, glycerol, and olive oil was used to evaluate the superamphiphobicity. After 7 days of ultraviolet (UV) aging, five cycles of airbrush flushing and 48 h of immersion in acid, salt, and alkali solutions, the FTS coating still exhibits excellent amphiphobicity, which lays a foundation for its large-scale applications in the concrete exterior wall. The surface microstructure and the formation of air pockets are a prerequisite for superamphiphobicity, which promotes the liquid on the coating surface into the Cassie-Baxter state. Furthermore, the formation of air pockets is closely related to the gas adsorption capacity and the specific surface area (SBET) of the surface microstructure on the coating surface. The coatings with different SBET constructed and the advanced contact angle were measured. The influence of air pockets on the superamphiphobicity of coatings was studied in combination with the optical microscope. The understanding that SBET further influences superamphiphobicity by affecting the surface air pockets is proposed.

RESUMO

Strain YIM 132242T, isolated from lichen collected from Pu'er, Yunnan Province, China, was short-rod-shaped, Gram-reaction-negative, aerobic, catalase- and oxidase-positive. Growth of the strain was occurred at 10-39 °C (optimum, 28-35 °C), at pH 4.0-10.0 (optimum, pH 7.0-8.0) and at salinities of 0-8% (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 0-2%). Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that strain YIM 132242T belonged to the genus Paracoccus and had the highest levels of sequence similarity to Paracoccus aerius KCTC 42845T (97.0% similarity), Paracoccus sediminis CMB17T (96.8% similarity), and Paracoccus fontiphilus MVW-1T (96.4% similarity). The major fatty acid was identified as C18:1 ω7c (77.6%). The predominant respiratory quinone was ubiquinone-10 (Q-10). Polar lipid analysis indicated the presence of phosphatidylglycerol (PG), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), phosphatidylcholine (PC), diphosphatidylglycerol (DPG), an unidentified lipid (L), and three unidentified phospholipids (PL1-PL3). Based on the draft genome sequence, the DNA G + C content of the strain was 67.1 mol%, and the values of average nucleotide identity (ANI) and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) of strain YIM 132242T with Paracoccus aerius KCTC 42845T were 85.4% and 29.1%, respectively. On the basis of the data from this polyphasic characterization, strain YIM 132242T represents a novel species of the genus Paracoccus, for which the name Paracoccus lichenicola sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is YIM 132242T (= KCTC 72463T = CGMCC1.17191T).

RESUMO

In this study, the adsorption of gas molecules, such as O2, NH3, CO, CO2, H2O, NOx (x = 1, 2) and SO2, on Janus Te2Se monolayer has been investigated by means of density functional theory (DFT) calculations. We show that Janus Te2Se monolayer is preferable for SO2 and NOx molecules with suitable adsorption strength and apparent charge transfers. We further calculated the current-voltage (I-V) curves using the nonequilibrium Green's function (NEGF) method. The transport feature exhibits distinct responses with a dramatic change of I-V curves before and after NOx (SO2) adsorption on Janus Te2Se. Thus, we predict that Janus Te2Se could be a promising candidate for SO2 and NOx sensors with high selectivity and sensitivity. Moreover, the effect of strain on the gas/substrate adsorption systems was also studied, implying that the strained Janus Te2Se monolayer could enhance the sensitivity and selectivity to SO2 and NO2. The adsorbed SO2 and NO2 on Janus Te2Se could escape by releasing the applied strain, which indicates that the capture process is reversible. Our study widens the application of Janus Te2Se not only as piezoelectric materials, but also as a potential gas sensor or capturer of SO2 and NOx with high sensitivity and selectivity.
