[Evaluation of main and additional root canal curvature in maxillary molars]. / Issledovanie krivizny osnovnykh i dopolnitel'nykh kornevykh kanalov moliarov verkhnei cheliusti.

The aim of the study was to investigate the degree of the main and additional root canal curvatures of the maxillary molars in Krasnoyarsk population. Main and additional root canal curvature was measured in 48 maxillary first molars (M1) and 122 second molars (M2) with cone beam computer tomography. In total 476 measurements were taken for M1 and 1038 for M2 (all measurements were doubled in sagittal and coronal views). M2 showed more variety of root canal morphology and significantly higher proportion of additional root canals. Curvature rates of M1 did not differ significantly from M2. Additional root canals had close or similar curvature rates with the main ones. The obtained data are useful for the improvement of root canal treatment efficacy and endodontic treatment planning.

[Caries prevention in children during orthodontic treatment].

The study allowed establishing imbalance of immune system during orthodontic appliance treatment. It follows in 1, 5 month after fixation of appliance and in the final period of treatment (15 months after fixation of breakers). These can be considered "critical" and it is necessary to make immune-correctional therapy and to prescribe measures of caries prevention.

[The pathogenesis of posttraumatic deformities of the mandible in the growing organism]. / K patogenezu posttravmaticheskikh deformatsii nizhnei cheliusti rastushchego organizma.

Experiments on developing animals showed that mandibular fractures of any location can be complicated by pronounced growth disorders and abnormal development of mandibular bone, leading to deformations of the site of fracture. Abnormal mandibular development was particularly obvious after injuries to the condyle and condylar process, after fractures of mandibular body and angle with dissection of the neurovascular bundle, and in cases with osteomyelitis. Disorders in endochondral bone formation (which is normally most active in the condyle) caused by traumatic processes and disorders in neurotrophic regulation and blood supply to the bone, developing in neurovascular obstruction, underlie the mechanisms of posttraumatic mandibular deformations. These complications were observed in patients with fractures of different sites because of improper joining and fixation of fragments. Children should be regularly checked up after mandibular fractures. Measures aimed at prevention of growth disorders and development of mandibular bone lesions are obligatory at all stages of examination.

[The effect of the disodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetate on the healing of experimental suppurative wounds]. / Vliianie dinatrievoi soli étilendiaminotetraatsetata na zazhivlenie éksperimental'nykh gnoinykh ran.

EDTA was shown to influence the cicatrisation of experimental purulent wounds. The substance accelerated the wound purification with necrotic tissues elimination. Therapeutic effect increased in cases of combined EDTA and dioxidine application.

[Variants of the position of the jugular trunks]. / Varianty raspolozheniia iaremnykh stvolov.

Topographo-anatomical position of the jugular trunks has been investigated in 30 human corpses. Certain differences in structure of the left and right jugular trunks are revealed, their peculiarities in persons with different habitus type are noted. The peculiarities mentioned are expedient to take into account in surgical practice, when pathways of lymphatic drenage are cut with prophylactic aims in patients suffering from inflammatory processes in the maxillofacial area.
