RESUMO

Given the tubal origin of high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC), we sought to investigate intrauterine lavage (IUL) as a novel method of biomarker detection. IUL and serum samples were collected from patients with HGSC or benign pathology. Although CA-125 and HE4 concentrations were significantly higher in IUL samples compared to serum, they were similar between IUL samples from patients with HGSC vs benign conditions. In contrast, CA-125 and HE4 serum concentrations differed between HGSC and benign pathology (P =.002 for both). IUL and tumor samples from patients with HGSC were subjected to targeted panel sequencing and droplet digital PCR (ddPCR). Tumor mutations were found in 75 % of matched IUL samples. Serum CA-125 and HE4 biomarker levels allowed for better differentiation of HGSC and benign pathology compared to IUL samples. We believe using IUL for early detection of HGSC requires optimization, and current strategies should focus on prevention until early detection strategies improve.

Cold autoimmune hemolytic anemia (cAIHA) is a form of autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) that most often involves agglutinin antibodies that specifically react to cold temperatures. This process most commonly involves an immunoglobulin M (IgM)-mediated agglutination of erythrocytes and can result in complement-mediated hemolysis, which can range greatly in severity from case to case. Here, we present a case of cAIHA in a 64-year-old male who presented with rapidly progressive and severe hemolytic anemia, which resulted in irreversible decompensation. This case highlights the importance of maintaining a high index of suspicion for cAIHA in patients older adult patients with a previous history of autoimmune hematologic diseases presenting in a rapidly progressive hemolytic state, which can allow for prompt diagnosis, treatment, and mitigation of adverse outcomes.

Importance: Requiring personalized genetic counseling may introduce barriers to cancer risk assessment, but it is unknown whether omitting counseling could increase distress. Objective: To assess whether omitting pretest and/or posttest genetic counseling would increase distress during remote testing. Design, Setting, and Participants: Making Genetic Testing Accessible (MAGENTA) was a 4-arm, randomized noninferiority trial testing the effects of individualized pretest and/or posttest genetic counseling on participant distress 3 and 12 months posttest. Participants were recruited via social and traditional media, and enrollment occurred between April 27, 2017, and September 29, 2020. Participants were women aged 30 years or older, English-speaking, US residents, and had access to the internet and a health care professional. Previous cancer genetic testing or counseling was exclusionary. In the family history cohort, participants had a personal or family history of breast or ovarian cancer. In the familial pathogenic variant (PV) cohort, participants reported 1 biological relative with a PV in an actionable cancer susceptibility gene. Data analysis was performed between December 13, 2020, and May 31, 2023. Intervention: Participants completed baseline questionnaires, watched an educational video, and were randomized to 1 of 4 arms: the control arm with pretest and/or posttest genetic counseling, or 1 of 3 study arms without pretest and posttest counseling. Genetic counseling was provided by phone appointments and testing was done using home-delivered saliva kits. Main Outcomes and Measures: The primary outcome was participant distress measured by the Impact of Event Scale 3 months after receiving the results. Secondary outcomes included completion of testing, anxiety, depression, and decisional regret. Results: A total of 3839 women (median age, 44 years [range 22-91 years]), most of whom were non-Hispanic White and college educated, were randomized, 3125 in the family history and 714 in the familial PV cohorts. In the primary analysis in the family history cohort, all experimental arms were noninferior for distress at 3 months. There were no statistically significant differences in anxiety, depression, or decisional regret at 3 months. The highest completion rates were seen in the 2 arms without pretest counseling. Conclusions and Relevance: In the MAGENTA clinical trial, omitting individualized pretest counseling for all participants and posttest counseling for those without PV during remote genetic testing was not inferior with regard to posttest distress, providing an alternative care model for genetic risk assessment. BACKGROUND: Genetic testing uptake is low, despite the well-established connection between pathogenic variants in certain cancer-linked susceptibility genes and ovarian cancer risk. Given that most major insurers cover genetic testing for those with a family history suggestive of hereditary cancer, the issue may lie in access to genetic testing. Remotely accessible web-based communication systems may improve awareness, and uptake, of genetic testing services. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to present the development and formative evaluation of the multistep web-based communication system required to support the implementation of, and access to, genetic testing. METHODS: While designing the multistep web-based communication system, we considered various barriers and facilitators to genetic testing, guided by dimensions of accessibility. In addition to conducting usability testing, we performed ongoing assessments focusing on the function of the web-based system and participant response rates, with the goal of continuing to make modifications to the web-based communication system as it is in use. RESULTS: The combined approach of usability testing and expert user experience consultation resulted in several modifications to the multistep web-based communication system, including changes that related to imagery and content, web accessibility, and general organization of the web-based system. All recommendations were made with the goal of improving the overall accessibility of the web-based communication system. CONCLUSIONS: A multistep web-based communication system appears to be an effective way to address many potential barriers to access, which may otherwise make genetic testing difficult for at-risk individuals to participate in. Importantly, some dimensions of access were easy to assess before study recruitment, but other aspects of the communication system required ongoing assessment during the implementation process of the Making Genetic Testing Accessible study.

Despite having similar histologic features, patients with high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSC) often experience highly variable outcomes. The underlying determinants for long-term survival (LTS, ≥10 years) versus short-term survival (STS, <3 years) are largely unknown. The present study sought to identify molecular predictors of LTS for women with HGSC. A cohort of 24 frozen HGSC samples was collected (12 LTS and 12 STS) and analyzed at DNA, RNA, and protein levels. OVCAR5 and OVCAR8 cell lines were used for in vitro validation studies. For in vivo studies, we injected OVCAR8 cells into the peritoneal cavity of female athymic nude mice. From RNAseq analysis, 11 genes were found to be differentially expressed between the STS and LTS groups (fold change > 2; false discovery rate < 0.01). In the subsequent validation cohort, transmembrane protein 62 (TMEM62) was found to be related to LTS. CIBERSORT analysis showed that T cells (follicular helper) were found at higher levels in tumors from LTS than STS groups. In vitro data using OVCAR5 and OVCAR8 cells showed decreased proliferation with TMEM62 overexpression and positive correlation with a longevity-regulating pathway (KEGG HSA04213) at the RNA level. In vivo analysis using the OVCAR8-TMEM62-TetON model showed decreased tumor burden in mice with high- vs. low-expressing TMEM62 tumors. Our results demonstrate that restoring TMEM62 may be a novel approach for treatment of HGSC. These findings may have implications for biomarker and intervention strategies to help improve patient outcomes

OBJECTIVE: Treatment options and associated biomarkers for advanced and recurrent disease are limited. Endometrial cancers (ECs) with CTNNB1 exon 3 mutations appear to have preferential response to bevacizumab, an anti-angiogenesis treatment, though the mechanism of action is unknown. We aim to identify mediators of bevacizumab-responsive endometrial cancers. METHODS: We analyzed RNA expression from TCGA and protein expression from CPTAC to identify likely targets for ß-catenin overactivity. We then transiently and stably overexpressed ß-catenin in EC cells to confirm the results suggested by our in silico analysis. We performed corroborative experiments by silencing CTNNB1 in mutated cell lines to demonstrate functional specificity. We implanted transduced cells into xenograft models to study microvessel density. RESULTS: CTNNB1-mutated ECs were associated with increased ß-catenin and MMP7 protein abundance (P < 0.001), but not VEGF-A protein abundance. Overexpressing ß-catenin in EC cells did not increase VEGF-A abundance but did increase expression and secretion of MMP7 (P < 0.03). Silencing CTNNB1 in CTNNB1-mutated cells decreased MMP7 gene expression in EC (P < 0.0001). Microvessel density was not increased. CONCLUSIONS: These data provide a mechanistic understanding for bevacizumab-response in CTNNB1-mutated ECs demonstrated in GOG-86P. We hypothesize that overexpressed and secreted MMP7 potentially digests VEGFR-1, releasing VEGF-A, and increasing its availability. These activities may drive the formation of permeable vessels, which contributes to tumor progression, metastasis, and immune suppression. This mechanism is unique to EC and advocates for further clinical trials evaluating this treatment-related biomarker.

BACKGROUND: Strong participant recruitment practices are critical to public health research but are difficult to achieve. Traditional recruitment practices are often time consuming, costly, and fail to adequately target difficult-to-reach populations. Social media platforms such as Facebook are well-positioned to address this area of need, enabling researchers to leverage existing social networks and deliver targeted information. The MAGENTA (Making Genetic Testing Accessible) study aimed to improve the availability of genetic testing for hereditary cancer susceptibility in at-risk individuals through the use of a web-based communication system along with social media advertisements to improve reach. OBJECTIVE: This paper is aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Facebook as an outreach tool for targeting women aged ≥30 years for recruitment in the MAGENTA study. METHODS: We designed and implemented paid and unpaid social media posts with ongoing assessment as a primary means of research participant recruitment in collaboration with patient advocates. Facebook analytics were used to assess the effectiveness of paid and unpaid outreach efforts. RESULTS: Over the course of the reported recruitment period, Facebook materials had a reach of 407,769 people and 57,248 (14.04%) instances of engagement, indicating that approximately 14.04% of people who saw information about the study on Facebook engaged with the content. Paid advertisements had a total reach of 373,682. Among those reached, just <15% (54,117/373,682, 14.48%) engaged with the page content. Unpaid posts published on the MAGENTA Facebook page resulted in a total of 34,087 reach and 3131 instances of engagement, indicating that around 9.19% (3131/34,087) of people who saw unpaid posts engaged. Women aged ≥65 years reported the best response rate, with approximately 43.95% (15,124/34,410) of reaches translating to engagement. Among the participants who completed the eligibility questionnaire, 27.44% (3837/13,983) had heard about the study through social media or another webpage. CONCLUSIONS: Facebook is a useful way of enhancing clinical trial recruitment of women aged ≥30 years who have a potentially increased risk for ovarian cancer by promoting news stories over social media, collaborating with patient advocacy groups, and running paid and unpaid campaigns. Introduction: Researchers have begun to change their approach to training in the biomedical sciences through the development of communities of practice (CoPs). CoPs share knowledge across clinical and laboratory contexts to promote the progress of clinical and translational science. The Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs' (CDMRP) Ovarian Cancer Academy (OCA) was designed as a virtual CoP to promote interactions among early career investigators (ECIs) and their mentors with the goal of eliminating ovarian cancer. Methods: A mixed-methods approach (surveys and interviews) was used to evaluate the effectiveness of the OCA for the eight ECIs and five mentors. Quantitative analysis included internal reliability of scales and descriptive statistics for each measure, as well as paired sample t-tests for Time 1 and Time 2. Qualitative data were analyzed for themes to discern which aspects of the program were useful and where more attention is needed. Results: Preliminary analyses reveal several trends, including the importance of training in grant writing to the ECI's productivity, as well as the value of peer mentorship. Conclusion: The results show that the OCA was an innovative and effective way to create a CoP with broad implications for the field of ovarian cancer research, as well as for the future of biomedical research training.

The matching paradigm can take a number of forms and has been used in many areas of psychology. When participants are asked to match or order sets of objects, researchers must correctly account for the number of matches expected purely by chance. Not accounting for the expected chance matches can lead to incorrectly drawing conclusions based on one's data. This study demonstrated that the z test can be an appropriate and easy test to use in the analysis of matching data from studies that require pairs of objects to be matched with each other. This article proves that in a matching paradigm the expected number of chance matches is 1.0 and the associated variance is also 1.0. The z test is shown to maintain the Type I error close to the nominal significance level when the null hypothesis is true and the sample size is at least 80 or 110. To attain power of .80, a sample size larger than 80 may be needed depending upon the effect size associated with the area of interest and the hypothesized alternative probability distribution. OBJECTIVE: In the Phase 3 VELIA trial (NCT02470585), PARP inhibitor (PARPi) veliparib was combined with first-line chemotherapy and continued as maintenance for patients with ovarian carcinoma enrolled regardless of chemotherapy response or biomarker status. Here, we report exploratory analyses of the impact of homologous recombination deficient (HRD) or proficient (HRP) status on progression-free survival (PFS) and objective response rates during chemotherapy. METHODS: Women with Stage III-IV ovarian carcinoma were randomized to veliparib-throughout, veliparib-combination-only, or placebo. Stratification factors included timing of surgery and germline BRCA mutation status. HRD status was dichotomized at genomic instability score 33. During combination therapy, CA-125 levels were measured at baseline and each cycle; radiographic responses were assessed every 9 weeks. RESULTS: Of 1140 patients randomized, 742 had BRCA wild type (BRCAwt) tumors (HRP, n = 373; HRD/BRCAwt, n = 329). PFS hazard ratios between veliparib-throughout versus control were similar in both BRCAwt populations (HRD/BRCAwt: 22.9 vs 19.8 months; hazard ratio 0.76; 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.53-1.09; HRP: 15.0 vs 11.5 months; hazard ratio 0.765; 95% CI 0.56-1.04). By Cycle 3, the proportion with ≥90% CA-125 reduction from baseline was higher in those receiving veliparib (pooled arms) versus control (34% vs 23%; P = 0.0004); particularly in BRCAwt and HRP subgroups. Complete response rates among patients with measurable disease after surgery were 24% with veliparib (pooled arms) and 18% with control. CONCLUSIONS: These results potentially broaden opportunities for PARPi utilization among patients who would not qualify for frontline PARPi maintenance based on other trials.

Although endometrial cancer management remains challenging, a deeper understanding of the genetic diversity as well as the drivers of the various pathogenic states of this disease has led to development of divergent management approaches in an effort to improve therapeutic precision in this complex malignancy. This comprehensive review provides an update on the epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis and molecular classification, recent advancements in disease management, as well as important patient quality-of-life considerations and emerging developments in the rapidly evolving therapeutic landscape of endometrial cancers.

Conventional molecular recognition elements, such as antibodies, present issues for developing biomolecular assays for use in certain technologies, such as implantable devices. Additionally, antibody development and use, especially for highly multiplexed applications, can be slow and costly. We developed a perception-based platform based on an optical nanosensor array that leverages machine learning algorithms to detect multiple protein biomarkers in biofluids. We demonstrated this platform in gynecologic cancers, often diagnosed at advanced stages, leading to low survival rates. We investigated the detection of protein biomarkers in uterine lavage samples, which are enriched with certain cancer markers compared to blood. We found that the method enables the simultaneous detection of multiple biomarkers in patient samples, with F1-scores of ~0.95 in uterine lavage samples from patients with cancer. This work demonstrates the potential of perception-based systems for the development of multiplexed sensors of disease biomarkers without the need for specific molecular recognition elements.

OBJECTIVE: We sought to characterize the variability of CCNE1 amplification among metastatic sites of CCNE1 amplified high grade serous carcinoma (HGSC) cases to investigate the feasibility of targeting this alteration for therapeutic purposes. METHODS: Patients with CCNE1 amplified HGSC who underwent surgical cytoreduction with metastatic sites were identified from institutional molecular profiling reports and a population of HGSC cases screened using digital droplet PCR (ddPCR). Cases with normal CCNE1 copy number were included as controls. Slides from metastatic sites were cut from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue blocks, dissected for tumor of > 50% purity, and underwent DNA extraction. CCNE1 copy number was determined by ddPCR. Tumor purity was confirmed with mutant TP53 allele fraction from targeted massively parallel sequencing. RESULTS: Four of 15 patients from an institutional database screened by ddPCR were found to have CCNE1 amplification. Three additional patients were identified from a query of institutional commercial clinical reports. Among these 7 CCNE1 amplified cases (2 uterine, 5 ovarian), 5 showed preservation of CCNE1 amplification (copy number > 5) among all metastatic sites. The remaining 2 cases had multiple metastatic sites without preserved CCNE1 amplification. Non-amplified cases had predominantly normal CCNE1 copy number across metastatic sites. CONCLUSIONS: CCNE1 amplification is an early genomic event in HGSC and is preserved in most metastatic sites suggesting a uniform response to pathway targeting therapies.

High-grade serous tubo-ovarian carcinoma (HGSC) is a major cause of cancer-related death. Treatment is not uniform, with some patients undergoing primary debulking surgery followed by chemotherapy (PDS) and others being treated directly with chemotherapy and only having surgery after three to four cycles (NACT). Which strategy is optimal remains controversial. We developed a mathematical framework that simulates hierarchical or stochastic models of tumor initiation and reproduces the clinical course of HGSC. After estimating parameter values, we infer that most patients harbor chemoresistant HGSC cells at diagnosis and that, if the tumor burden is not too large and complete debulking can be achieved, PDS is superior to NACT due to better depletion of resistant cells. We further predict that earlier diagnosis of primary HGSC, followed by complete debulking, could improve survival, but its benefit in relapsed patients is likely to be limited. These predictions are supported by primary clinical data from multiple cohorts. Our results have clear implications for these key issues in HGSC management.

Recently, ovarian cancer research has evolved considerably because of the emerging recognition that rather than a single disease, ovarian carcinomas comprise several different histotypes that vary by etiologic origin, risk factors, molecular profiles, therapeutic approaches and clinical outcome. Despite significant progress in our understanding of the etiologic heterogeneity of ovarian cancer, as well as important clinical advances, it remains the eighth most frequently diagnosed cancer in women worldwide and the most fatal gynecologic cancer. The International Agency for Research on Cancer and the United States National Cancer Institute jointly convened an expert panel on ovarian carcinoma to develop consensus research priorities based on evolving scientific discoveries. Expertise ranged from etiology, prevention, early detection, pathology, model systems, molecular characterization and treatment/clinical management. This report summarizes the current state of knowledge and highlights expert consensus on future directions to continue advancing etiologic, epidemiologic and prognostic research on ovarian carcinoma.

OBJECTIVE: Uterine carcinosarcoma (UCS) is a rare but aggressive cancer. In early-stage disease data guiding treatment is sparse. The purpose of this review is to summarize the findings from the 2019 NRG oncology group summer symposium meeting as well as a review of the current literature, with a particular focus on molecular targets, ongoing clinical trials, and treatment of early and advanced/recurrent disease. METHODS: A combination of expert presentations and an extensive literature search was undertaken to summarize the literature in this review. MEDLINE was queried for peer-reviewed publications on UCS. This search was not limited by year or study design, but was limited to English language publications. ClinicalTrials.gov was queried for ongoing trials in UCS. RESULTS: UCS is a rare cancer that is biphasic, with the carcinomatous component driving its aggressive nature. Level 3 evidence regarding early stage disease is lacking, but retrospective data suggests adjuvant therapy is warranted. The recent results of GOG 261 have contributed valuable information towards treatment strategy, including use of paclitaxel and carboplatin for UCS. Clinical trials are ongoing to investigate new targeted agents in UCS. CONCLUSION: Ongoing endometrial cancer clinical trials now include UCS patients. In combination with advances in molecular profiling, this will provide patients with UCS improved therapeutic options. Until that time, surgical resection and traditional cytotoxic chemotherapy remains standard of care.

BACKGROUND: Endometrial cancers (ECs) with somatic mutations in DNA polymerase epsilon (POLE) are characterized by unfavorable pathological features, which prompt adjuvant treatment. Paradoxically, women with POLE-mutated EC have outstanding clinical outcomes, and this raises concerns of overtreatment. The authors investigated whether favorable outcomes were independent of treatment. METHODS: A PubMed search for POLE and endometrial was restricted to articles published between March 1, 2012, and March 1, 2018, that provided individual patient data (IPD), adjuvant treatment, and survival. Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) reporting guidelines for IPD, the authors used univariate and multivariate one-stage meta-analyses with mixed effects Cox models (random effects for study cohorts) to infer the associations of treatment, traditional prognostic factors, and outcome, which was defined as the time from first diagnosis to any adverse event (progression/recurrence or death from EC). RESULTS: Three hundred fifty-nine women with POLE-mutated EC were identified; 294 (82%) had pathogenic mutations. Worse outcomes were demonstrated in patients with nonpathogenic POLE mutations (hazard ratio, 3.42; 95% confidence interval, 1.47-7.58; log-rank P < .01). Except for stage (P < .01), traditional prognosticators were not associated with progression/recurrence or death from disease. Adverse events were rare (11 progressions/recurrences and 3 disease-specific deaths). Salvage rates in patients who experienced recurrence were high and sustained, with 8 of 11 alive without evidence of disease (range, 5.5-14.2 years). Adjuvant treatment was not associated with outcome. CONCLUSIONS: Clinical outcomes for ECs with pathogenic POLE mutations are not associated with most traditional risk parameters, and patients do not appear to benefit from adjuvant therapy. The observed low rates of recurrence/progression and the high and sustained salvage rates raise the possibility of safely de-escalating treatment for these patients. LAY SUMMARY: Ten percent of all endometrial cancers have mutations in the DNA repair gene DNA polymerase epsilon (POLE). Women who have endometrial cancers with true POLE mutations experience almost no recurrences or deaths from their cancer even when their tumors appear to have very unfavorable characteristics. Additional therapy (radiation and chemotherapy) does not appear to improve outcomes for women with POLE-mutated endometrial cancer, and this supports the move to less therapy and less associated toxicity. Diligent classification of endometrial cancers by molecular features provides valuable information to inform prognosis and to direct treatment/no treatment.

BACKGROUND: Successfully combining targeted agents with chemotherapy is an important future goal for cancer therapy. However, an improvement in patient outcomes requires an enhanced understanding of the tumor biomarkers that predict for drug sensitivity. NRG Oncology/Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) Study GOG-86P was one of the first attempts to combine targeted agents (bevacizumab or temsirolimus) with chemotherapy in patients with advanced endometrial cancer. Herein we performed exploratory analyses to examine the relationship between mutations in TP53, the most commonly mutated gene in cancer, with outcomes on GOG-86P. METHODS: TP53 mutational status was determined and correlated with progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) on GOG-86P. RESULTS: Mutations in TP53 were associated with improved PFS and OS for patients that received bevacizumab as compared to temsirolimus (PFS: HR 0.48, 95% CI 0.31, 0.75; OS: HR: 0.61, 95% CI 0.38, 0.98). By contrast, there was no statistically significant difference in PFS or OS between arms for cases with WT TP53. CONCLUSIONS: This exploratory study suggests that combining chemotherapy with bevacizumab, but not temsirolimus, may enhance PFS and OS for patients whose tumors harbor mutant p53. These data set the stage for larger clinical studies evaluating the potential of TP53 mutational status as a biomarker to guide choice of treatment for endometrial cancer patients. PURPOSE: The known epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) susceptibility genes account for less than 50% of the heritable risk of ovarian cancer suggesting that other susceptibility genes exist. The aim of this study was to evaluate the contribution to ovarian cancer susceptibility of rare deleterious germline variants in a set of candidate genes. METHODS: We sequenced the coding region of 54 candidate genes in 6385 invasive EOC cases and 6115 controls of broad European ancestry. Genes with an increased frequency of putative deleterious variants in cases versus controls were further examined in an independent set of 14 135 EOC cases and 28 655 controls from the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium and the UK Biobank. For each gene, we estimated the EOC risks and evaluated associations between germline variant status and clinical characteristics. RESULTS: The ORs associated for high-grade serous ovarian cancer were 3.01 for PALB2 (95% CI 1.59 to 5.68; p=0.00068), 1.99 for POLK (95% CI 1.15 to 3.43; p=0.014) and 4.07 for SLX4 (95% CI 1.34 to 12.4; p=0.013). Deleterious mutations in FBXO10 were associated with a reduced risk of disease (OR 0.27, 95% CI 0.07 to 1.00, p=0.049). However, based on the Bayes false discovery probability, only the association for PALB2 in high-grade serous ovarian cancer is likely to represent a true positive. CONCLUSIONS: We have found strong evidence that carriers of PALB2 deleterious mutations are at increased risk of high-grade serous ovarian cancer. Whether the magnitude of risk is sufficiently high to warrant the inclusion of PALB2 in cancer gene panels for ovarian cancer risk testing is unclear; much larger sample sizes will be needed to provide sufficiently precise estimates for clinical counselling.

RESUMO

Endometrial carcinoma is the most common gynecologic malignancy and the fourth most prevalent cancer in women in the modern world. Despite a relatively high chance of surgical cure, for patients with advanced or recurrent disease there are few therapeutic options. Angiogenesis has been extensively studied ever since vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) was discovered in the 1980s. Several clinical trials of anti-angiogenic therapy in endometrial carcinoma have been conducted, with mixed results, and many researchers have tried to determine prognostic and therapeutic biomarkers. Recent trials, which shed new light on possible treatment biomarkers and efficacious combination therapies, are reviewed in this text. While we are still far from effectively tailoring anti-angiogenic treatment to each patient, these data have provided valuable insight and have put us on track for the discovery of novel opportunities for angiogenesis therapy in endometrial carcinoma.
