RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Scoliosis is a high incidence disease that endangers the physical and mental health of adolescents. Traction therapy, as a conservative treatment plan, is helpful to improve the recovery speed of patients by studying the influence of different traction factors on the therapeutic effect. METHODS: Based on the thin layer CT data of the lumbar spine of a 16-year-old patient with scoliosis, Mimics21.0 was used to extract the 3D digital model, and Geomagic Wrap2021 was used to perform the smooth surface. After that, SolidWorks was used to manually construct the structures, such as the intervertebral disc, and Ansys17.0 was used to add constraints, ligaments, and other features. Three-factor ANOVA was carried out after an orthogonal experiment that considered traction mode, traction angle, and traction force was finished. RESULTS: ① A three-dimensional biomechanical model of lumbar scoliosis was created. ② The model's correctness was confirmed by comparing it to the corpse and other finite element models, as well as by verifying it under a range of working settings. ③ Traction force (P = 0.000), traction angle (P = 0.000), the interaction between traction force and traction angle (P = 0.000), and the interaction between traction mode and traction angle (P = 0.045) were all significant. ④ The interaction between traction force and traction angle has the most significant effect on Cobb, and traction with a certain angle is better than traditional axial traction. ⑤ Traction mode is not significant, but the interaction between traction mode and traction angle is significant. CONCLUSIONS: A certain angle of traction can aid in improving outcomes and the traction force can be suitably decreased in the clinical formulation of the traction plan. The uniformity of correcting effect is more favorable when higher fixation techniques like positive suspension or traction bed traction are used, as opposed to overhanging traction.

RESUMO

Halophytes have high species diversity and play important roles in ecosystems. However, endophytic fungi of halophytes in desert ecosystems have been less investigated. In this study, we examined endophytic fungi associated with the stem and root of ten halophytic species colonizing the Gurbantonggut desert. A total of 36 endophytic fungal taxa were obtained, dominated by Alternaria eichhorniae, Monosporascus ibericus, and Pezizomycotina sp.1. The colonization rate and species richness of endophytic fungi varied in the ten plant species, with higher rates in roots than in stems. The endophytic fungal community composition was significantly affected by plant identity and tissue type. Some endophytic fungi showed significant host and tissue preferences. This finding suggests that host identity and tissue type structure endophytic fungal community in a desert ecosystem.

RESUMO

A synchronous carbon-coating and interfacial-functionalizing approach is proposed for the fabrication of Mo-doped Mox Ti1-x O2-δ nanotubes (C@IF-MTNTs) under mild hydrothermal reaction with subsequent annealing as advanced catalyst supports for PtRu nanoparticles (NPs) towards methanol electrooxidation. The carbonation of glucose and Mo-doping takes place simultaneously at the interface of pristine anatase TiO2 nanotubes (TNTs), generating a unique concentric multilayered one-dimensional (1D) structure with crystalline an anatase/rutile mixed-phase TiO2 core and Mo-functionalized interface and subsequently a carbon shell. The obtained PtRu/C@IF-MTNTs catalyst exhibits an over 2 times higher mass activity with comparable durability than that of the unmodified PtRu/C@TNTs catalyst and over 1.7 times higher mass activity with over 20 % higher stability than that of PtRu/C catalyst. Such superior catalytic performance towards methanol electrooxidation is ascribed to the Mo-functionalized interface, concentric multilayered 1D architecture, and anatase/rutile mixed-phase core, which facilitates the charge transport through 1D structural support and electronic interaction between C@IF-MTNTs and ultrafine PtRu NPs. This work reveals the critical application of a 1D interfacial functionalized architecture for advanced energy storage and conversion.

RESUMO

D-glucaric acid is a promising platform compound used to synthesize many other value-added or commodity chemicals. The engineering of Escherichia coli for efficiently converting D-glucose to D-glucaric acid has been attempted for several years, with mixed sugar fermentation recently gaining growing interests due to the increased D-glucaric acid yield. Here, we co-expressed cscB, cscA, cscK, ino1, miox, udh, and suhB in E. coli BL21 (DE3), functionally constructing an unreported route from sucrose to D-glucaric acid. Further deletion of chromosomal zwf, pgi, ptsG, uxaC, gudD, over-expression of glk, and use of a D-fructose-dependent translation control system for pgi enabled the strain to use sucrose as the sole carbon source while achieving a high product titer and yield. The titer of D-glucaric acid in M9 medium containing 10 g/L sucrose reached ~1.42 g/L, with a yield of ~0.142 g/g on sucrose.

RESUMO

Three-dimensional hierarchical nitrogen-doped graphene (3D-NG) frameworks were successfully fabricated through a feasible solution dip-coating method with commercially available sponges as the initial backbone. A spongy template can help hinder the graphene plates restacking in the period of the annealing process. The Pt/3D-NG catalyst was synthesized employing a polyol reduction process. The resultant Pt/3D-NG exhibits 2.3 times higher activity for methanol electro-oxidation along with the improvement in stability as compared with Pt/G owing to their favorable features including large specific surface area, high pore volume, high N doping level, and the homogeneous dispersion of Pt nanoparticles. Besides, Pt/3D-NG also presents high oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) performance in acid media when compared with Pt/3D-G and Pt/G. This work raises a valid solution for the fabrication of 3D functional freestanding graphene-based composites for a variety of applications in fuel cell catalysis, energy storage, and conversion.

RESUMO

Mangrove forests play an important role in subtropical and tropical coastal ecosystems. Endophytic fungi are widely distributed in various ecosystems and have great contribution to global biodiversity. In order to better understand the effects of mangrove species and tissue types on endophytic fungal community, we investigated cultivable endophytic fungi in leaves and twigs of four mangroves Aegiceras corniculatum, Avicennia marina, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, and Kandelia candel in Guangxi, China. The four tree species had similar overall colonisation rates of endophytic fungi (24-33%). The colonisation rates of endophytic fungi were higher in twigs (30-58%) than in leaves (6-25%) in the four plant species. A total of 36 endophytic fungal taxa were identified based on morphological characteristics and molecular data, including 35 Ascomycota and 1 Basidiomycota, dominated by Phomopsis, Phyllosticta, Xylaria, Leptosphaerulina, and Pestalotiopsis. The diversity of endophytic fungi was higher in twigs than in leaves in the four plant species. Some endophytic fungi showed host and tissue preference. The endophytic fungal community composition was different among four mangrove species and between leaf and twig tissues.
